Nostradamus is famous for his technological prophecies. It is believed he foresaw the invention of submarines (iron fish), air fleets guided through the heavens by pilots masked in snout-like oxygen masks he called half-pig men. He foresaw radio and telecommunications, the atomic bomb and accurately calculated the orbital distance of Space Station Alpha to Earth’s surface. Nostrtadamus also forecast the triumphs and tragedies of the US space agency, NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) over four centuries before it existed.

There are so many current events reverberating in prophecy these days, what with Syrian rebellions, the looming Deficit deadline and a historic, lingering heat wave affecting hundreds of millions of North Americans. They all demand a comment. I will be introducing Nostradamus’ fire in the sky prophecies this weekend when the heat wave is at its peak, but first, I would like to cover a current event that has far more long-range historic influence on the future. I would like to talk about a lost decade in Space that began overnight with the landing of the last US Space Shuttle mission at Cape Canaveral, Florida.

It seems that the mainstream news has not yet picked up on the irony of the final shuttle’s name as it floats into floodlights out of the darkness like a pale and re-entry singed and smoking ghost to alight gently on the tarmac, soon to be rolled into a museum, forever. It is named after a continent that myth tells us catastrophically sank overnight into the ocean.

Space Shuttle Atlantis meets the Lost Continent of Atlantis, a fabled realm that purportedly sustained an advanced society in pre-historic times that were at least as technologically advanced as our modern civilization. They invented submarines and flew through the skies. Some New Ager mythologists advance Atlanteans to the level of space travelers who interfaced and intermarried with extraterrestrials.

Medium and author Ruth Montgomery believed that Americans have a special karmic link to Atlanteans. Indeed Americans are, according to her often prophetically accurate Spirit Guides, reincarnated Atlanteans facing the same collective karmic lessons the Atlanteans failed to learn. We new Atlanteans have harnessed the same technological advances and powers and have grown prideful and arrogant as in the past. Like in our past lives of high consumption of the earth’s resources on our crowded island continent in the mid-Atlantic, our wisdom did not keep pace with our earth-unfriendly technological advances. Our great Crystal-Solar arrays powering ships, submarines and aircraft were turned into weapons of mass solar destruction. Many of the most ancient annals and scriptures (see Mahabharata) describe wars in far off antiquity waged with a kind of rod or scourge that created atomic detonations and what sound like radioactive fallout.

The story goes that Atlantis sank into to ocean in one terrible night because of the misuse of ancient technology by those who, like us, have lost our connection with wisdom’s balance and no longer harmonize with this world and Nature.

There is still hope that we new Atlanteans will not overturn our world and sink our civilization; however, those of you in the eastern half of the country sitting next to the moan and rumble of your air conditioners that may switch off in brownouts, look out of your windows at the heat coming out of your skies. The new Atlanteans have upset the climate’s balance because of breathtaking technological advances at the price of denying thoughts and feelings of earth-harmony left far, far behind.

The evil Atlantean who was de-fleshed had a skeleton with a detachable skull cap -- like the ones you find in a high school biology class. Ah, low budget movies, lol!

All agree on one thing, from the Hopi to Noah and all world death and rebirthing prophetic traditions: the last world that died and was reborn, the world that drowned Atlantis, was destroyed by a great flood.

The next world is scorched and purified by fire and the Hopi date this great purification to happen starting here and now in this new decade.

Just what kind of fire, be it the fires of awakened consciousness or global warming gone out of control is up to the new Atlanteans to make so by their present actions.

The Space Shuttle Atlantis last night came in for a landing with a destiny to become a museum piece. The era of the Space Shuttle after three decades is history. With it, goes American exceptionalism in space travel, some say. This morning 3,000 NASA contractors in Houston Texas got their pink slips, joining the 10,000 plus pink slip holders of another dying industry going on the dole when over 300 Borders Book Stores closed their doors forever the day Atlantis landed.

Though the cretaceous dead-tree book business still has one bookstore chain left (Barnes and Noble) a national, government run, space agency beyond NASA does not exist. I have a good source at Cape Canaveral who I will keep undisclosed. Back in 2009, he made a telling observation about the men and women behind launching US astronauts into space. For the weeks he worked there, it seemed to him that no NASA engineer was younger than himself, in his mid-fifties. A lot were far older and geriatric even, with heads of hair as grey as the first lunar dust Aldrin and Armstrong brought back from the first moon landing. If my source is accurate, it is a sign of tech species extinction, or, playing a variation on the launch countdowns of the glory days of the Moon race: “T Minus two years and counting to, dodo lift off.”

The good news is, the few younger men and women who kept on learning in college how to be engineers rather than stock brokers have been steadily leaving the dinosaur-like skeletal relics of Cape Canaveral rocket gantries for careers in private sector space industries. Big Space dies while little furry mammals creepeth and crawleth for investment R and D to nourish a pink litter of little space companies, mostly for now interested in launching well healed corporate tourists for a fleeting glimpse of the cosmos — sort of like safaris in space habitat.

It is doubtful that America will ever lead the way to the cosmos any time soon, some say at least for a decade, because like it or not, some projects, like mooning in space — going to the moon, that is — take the wealth of a nation directed by its political leadership to achieve. Something like the US-Soviet space race in the 1960s is too big an epic for one entrepreneur to afford. What is the profit in it? Yet, many a private contractor and entrepreneur directly enjoys the technological spin-offs of the Space Race. For instance, you are reading off one of those gifts, the computer screen or cell phone, and these products along with many other space race related articles, make beaucoup bucks for a lot of people, or allow you and me to make a living via these mediums.

Big Government efforts in space paid off big. Now that is over with Atlantis dropping out of the sky.

The Chinese government will prove what I am saying once again by putting its tax revenues into its own solo race to the Moon in this decade. They will gain the bounty of spin-off technological advances.

By decade’s end, Americans will have another Sputnik teaching moment when the Chinese red flag is planted on lunar dirt, but with a big difference. Back when the Soviets beat Americans to launching satellites like Sputnik in earth orbit at a time the initially lagging US space program was in its can do youthfulness and the country was interested, engaged and inspired. There was a political will supporting, the government of Eisenhower, then Kennedy, who were both able to lead and rightfully direct talent and resources to the challenges of the great Space Race. They came from behind and got to the Moon first.

It started last night with the final descent of Atlantis into the darkness of memory: Americans have lost space momentum perhaps for a decade. The Sputnik moment of a Chinese moon landing will have them return years from now to a rusting and neglected, publicly funded space age infrastructure, drained of brains gone elsewhere.

I predict that our astrophysicists and engineers will keep flying billionaires into space safaris or find gainful employment off shore in the Indian, Chinese and European space agencies. There will be no Eisenhower or Jack Kennedy to inspire a New Frontier in space. Obama the “Spock” (his favorite Star Trek character) ain’t no trail blazing Capt. Kirk. He has logically surrendered US leadership in Space to others, letting NASA for the first time let a primary delivery system for US interests in space exploration expire without a backup already in place.

Obama is no Jack Kennedy when it comes to inspiring his people to explore space. Indeed if JFK was BO, he would have let the Mercury Program end with a three to five year gap before Gemini, then a three to five year gap before launching Apollo… Moreover, the Russians would be on the Moon.

Now, if Americans want to get to Space Station Alpha, they will have to hitch a $30 million dollar ride on a Russian Soyuz spaceship for the next five years as no clear and defined goal or Kennedyesque vision is forthcoming from the cerebral Star-Trek-struck president who would be Spock. He, like the rest of America in my generation grew up watching real space exploration on television. Now, it seems Americans, including this president, would rather watch fake space exploration on television with fake space ships using fake computer graphically enhanced space drives making first contact with fake extraterrestrials on fake worlds.

Americans, your astronauts are actors now and space travel is for the birds and billionaires on holiday. When China will begin building bases on the moon and mining Helium 3 to power their fusion reactors programs in the late 2020s, Americans may have let a decade of momentum be lost like Atlantis in the labyrinth of a museum.

Is this Ameri-can’t future what you want?

The current state of big US space endeavors makes me wonder who was inside the space suit Nostradamus’ inner eye back in the 16th century may have ogled with disbelief, whilst sniffing sulfuric fumes sitting on his brass tripod like an Oracle of Delphi in a prophetic trance. Was the man in the following verse in question an American or from China?

I used to think this surprisingly un-nebulous prophecy for Nostradamus was about two US astronauts landing on the Moon 42 years ago on 20 July 1969 at 20:17:39 UTC (Coordinated Universal Time). By the way, Atlantis fell out of the sky for a glider landing to mothballs touching down exactly on 21 July 2011 (09:57 UTC) — that is just shy of 14 hours after the 42nd anniversary of the Apollo moon landing.

Now I am not so sure it is only about Americans on the Moon because of the first word Nostradamus uses, dedans. The use of dedans leaves open the linguistic possibility for a return of a man to the moon in the 21st century. In other words, once man was taken to Luna he will later take himself within the corner of the Moon. Humanity is not just putting footprints on alien land, they will dig into it, mine it, and construct a moon base that alien land will cover to keep its inhabitants safe from lethal space born radiation unfiltered by a lunar vacuum. That first lunar base may be crewed by Chinese astronauts.

The last two lines of this quatrain have many layers of meaning. The first layer implies unripe fruit to mean flaws in solid rocket boosters rushed to Cape Canaveral without thorough checking that had the Space Shuttle Challenger blow itself to bits after engine throttle up, 73 seconds after takeoff in January 1986. This caused great scandal for NASA and to the Soviets great praise for their plodding space program and ongoing construction of the Space Station Mir while US astronauts were grounded for years.

The next layer of meaning may mark the next Space Shuttle disaster caused by Nostradamus once again using metaphors of nature to describe odd shaped fruit-like inventions, such as the large, straight banana-like main fuel tank colored like an orange fruit in orange foam rubber on the last launch of the Space Shuttle Columbia in February 2003. A big slab of foam ripped off the tank, crashing into the shuttle’s wing at lift off. The unnoticed gaping hole in the wing caused the space ship and its crew to break up and burn like a falling comet during re-entry.

Once again, NASA and the US space program were grounded by tragedy and scandal. Yet, the Russians, to great praise, kept human space exploration alive shuttling astronauts, including Americans, to Space Station Alpha until the US fruit was ripe again.

Now we face the final layer of unripeness. The fruit of a new space delivery system is not even in seed. Unripe? Unplanted or planned. There is no clear shuttle replacement. This may be cause for the greatest space scandal yet coming from a lack of American vision and leadership. This time great praise to the other will go to the Chinese waving to the cameras on the moon by decade’s end.

PAS — (Post Apocalyptic Statement)
The next blog will be posted this weekend at the peak of one of the worst heat waves in human recorded history baking and buckling roads across two-thirds of the United States. Added to the horror of this angry message from Nature on the warpath with our bad habits is the added pain that only an atmosphere undergoing global warming can bring to heat waves. Hotter climates absorb more evaporated moisture, just like the air you experience in a greenhouse trapping the sun’s heat, makes a glass house feel close and sometimes oppressive inside. The global greenhouse effect will pump more moisture into worldwide heat events. The rising dew points of humidity increase the heat index. It may be 100 degrees Fahrenheit in places like Philadelphia and New York today, yet it feels like between 110 or 117 degrees on your skin.

My prophecies for 2010 and forecasts for 2011 e-books forecasted a two-year temperature tsunami coming from a planetary eco-system that has declared war on humanity’s abuse. In the effort to restore balance to the world, Mother Nature will violently shift from shivering winters of record snows to the kind of apocalyptic heat waves you are right now suffering in places like the Midwestern, southern and Atlantic United States.

Here again is what I said about it, long before it happened. In these visions are 2011′s great forest and brush fires of Arizona, New Mexico, Texas and Florida. In these oracular musings are the monster floods of the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers, the droughts and sun baked crop failures of Texas, and the Midwest. In these words, written in the first quote over a year and a half ago and in the second six months ago is the scorched earth heat wave now visiting a message to hundreds of millions of American.

The message is, wake up, return balance to your lives or suffer the consequences. If I would amend the classic TV commercial when Mother Nature suddenly gets grumpy I would have her say, “It’s not nice to fool with Mother Nature”:

(Zap! Goes the lightning and thunder. The owl hides his face behnd his wing and the bunnies run away.)

Starting the year 2010 into 2011, Mother Earth is about to declare worldwide war on us. She will fight us on the oceans with weapons of typhoon and hurricane. She will invade our beaches with rising oceans. She will bombard us with heated atmosphere and withhold the rains to water our fields of grain to deny her enemy sustenance. She will pull back her glaciers, withdraw and deny us her rivers. She will set in motion a scorched earth policy. Ignite her forests afire to burn us out. She will decimate our exploding and rapacious populations that covet and denude every arable acre, suck every last fresh water drop and befoul every last cubic inch of her fresh air. We drive her mad with climate fevers and she attacks.

There’s a war on. A war against stupid.

In 2011, we enter year two of World War Three, Mother Nature’s war on us. This isn’t some pagan voodoo threat. The natural world is ill. It’s fighting back madder than ever in 2011. Her fevers will be hotter this coming spring and summer, her chills colder this winter, her flood of monsoon tears and cyclonic rages will redouble from what was seen in 2010.

I’ve started recently to visit your site; I like to read the articles you publish since I believe your statements are of value not only from a prophetical point of view.

Your articles about the war in Libya and about the social unrest which may soon arise in US show that apart from having prophetical capabilities, you are also an analytical person which is well informed about the facts taking place over the world today and who is able to draw the right conclusions, leaving aside “background noise” like promises about improvement that politics and economists are making constantly.

Thank you, Jordi. I endeavor to be what you wrote above. I do not always succeed but you have captured my aim, which is to balance the inherent subjectivity of this genre of “future” intelligence gathering with objective analysis. The most important skill to summon after having a glimpse of the future is the ability to rightly analyze what a glimpse could actually mean and to do so with as little filtering of one’s personalized conditioning or embed the interpretation with the intellectual-emotional limits of one’s era.

I do believe that we are approaching to a time in which our existence will be severely put under risk, so for me your website is a good help to try to understand facts before they happen and that way, to try to be prepared for the worst, which I think may be well unavoidable (war, collapse of the economic system…).

The future is an echo of the consequences of our present day actions. One can hear the dissonance coming from tomorrow and thus change one’s “tune” in the present. If successful there will emanate from the future a harmonious echo, telling the individual and the collective for that matter that the one and the we are on the right present-day path to tomorrow.

In this sense, I wanted to ask you your opinion about UFOs. Do you think Nostradamus was referring to a UFO when he wrote the following (Century 3 Quatrain 34)?

The Old French use of monstre comes from the Latin, monstrum meaning “divine omen, strange thing, scourge.”

One cannot rule out that this monstre is some kind of extraterrestrial contact that signals doomsday for many of our spiritual dogmas and nationalistic ideas by proving for the last time that we are not alone in the cosmos. However, the second half of the verse could be a divine omen of future economic collapse induced by the dog days of global warming, implying the collapse of our oil based civilization on or after a Solar Eclipse passes over key oil producing powers, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Iran a few decades from now.

If the quatrain indexing of this verse “3 Q34″ means “March 2034″ then it may target an eclipse expected to pass a shadow across central Africa through the Middle East on 20 March 2034 — a day before the Vernal Equinox. This happens one day prior to the Sun’s transit from Pisces to Aries (the sign of wars, droughts, heat, or magical transformation) at a time when Pluto, the ruler of generational changes is in the sign of revolutions (Aquarius) and both Uranus (upheaval) and Saturn (karma) are in Cancer (ruler of America as well as hearth and home). The domestic homeland of America will be in disorder in times of revolution when the divinely monstrous and strange omen of eclipse marks perhaps the overshadowing of oil and fossil fuels in general as the chief source of this civilization’s energy.

Therefore, if this is the correct interpretation, Nostradamus may be giving the world a deadline for avoiding an apocalypse caused by the fossil fuel industry’s downfall. In other words, we only have two decades left to wean our civilization off of fossil fuels before the system collapses. Our global civilization could find itself an abandoned ruin just like great regional civilizations of the Maya in Guatemala, the Harrappan (India) and the Babylonian in Mesopotamia — all of which may have misused and wantonly over consumed natural resources exasperating regional climate changes that made them unsustainable ruins.

Eclipses play a powerful part in Nostradamus’ prophecies as points of dated departure or changes in the direction of human history. For example, his eclipse prophecies can be quite specific when they describe the shadow of the moon in total darkness cast over Flanders and parts of the Holy Land at the end of a great cycle of centuries. Indeed, a total eclipse did occur near the turn of the millennium on 11 August 1999 over England, Flanders (Belgium), France, Eastern Europe, Turkey and all the way to Gujarat India. In verses and in his Epistle are collective themes pinpointing this eclipse as a herald of oncoming and historic seismic and natural disasters presaging Armageddon or a new millennium of peace.

Major quakes DID happen along the 11 August 1999 eclipse shadow’s path over Greece and Turkey later that August (killing 50,000). A deadly temblor 17 months later entombed an estimated 100,000 people across Gujarat, India in late January 2001.

As I wrote in my most recent blog (click on Noah’s Ark) we have a significant eclipse event crossing the entire United States for August 2017 starting off the Oregon coast, rolling across the US Midwestern states to exit America of the South Carolina coast. If the quatrain’s indexing is not hiding a date, perhaps Century 3 Quatrain 34 is hinting of this solar eclipse (monstre-divine omen) pinpointing the collapse of the current economic global system a little sooner — one based on the American model — when the moon’s shadow cuts across the United States seven years and six months from the posting of this article.

The 11 August 1999 solar eclipse is but one example of seismic disasters visiting regions under Sun cast Moon shadow a month, 18 months or two years later. There were a similar string of natural disasters hitting nations months to two years after the Great Eclipse of 2009. Readers of HogueProphecy did track the earthquakes, typhoons and tsunamis, such as that hitting the islands of Samoa that had been under total eclipsing shadow. Now we can add to the list Japan’s March 2011 triple catastrophe of 9.0 earthquake, devastating tsunami and nuclear disaster. It happened just one year and seven months after Japan’s southern tip, the Ryukyu Islands, were clipped by the moon’s shadow in July 2009.

Even the last great Solar Eclipse passing over the Oregon coast in February 1979 gives us evidence of unsettled geology shaking from the passage of the moon’s shadow. Fourteen months later, Mt. St. Helens famously blew off 1,312 feet of its 9,677-foot summit and collapsed its northern slope in a lateral explosion that became the deadliest and most economically destructive volcanic event in the history of the United States to date.

The Solar Eclipse of 2017 passes over the Oregon Coast slightly farther south than in 1979. It may not only trigger an earthquake and tsunami along the San Juan de Fuca plate inundating the coastlines of the US and Canadian Pacific Northwest. The eclipse shadow slides over the Mississippi River Valley right across the New Madrid Fault Zone in the US mid-West. It may be due for new rumbles.

Starting back on December 1811 through February 1812, four quakes and aftershocks estimated at a magnitude around 7.2–8.1 roiled an earthquake prone region of Arkansas and Missouri changing the course of the Mississippi River. Only handful of Caucasian pioneers and Indians bore witness to it.

This is the region affected by a present-day New Madrid Fault quake.

The US Federal Emergency Management Agency in November 2008 warned that a serious earthquake in the New Madrid Seismic Zone could result in “the highest economic losses due to a natural disaster in the United States.” If a 7.7 magnitude quake or greater should erupt it would cause “widespread and catastrophic” damage across Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky and, Mississippi. They emphasized cities, towns and infrastructure in Missouri and especially Tennessee would be knocked to pieces. The resonant and deadly seismic waves would roll across a wide area of the heavily populated Mississippi basin flattening the mostly brick and unreinforced buildings of the Memphis metropolitan area all the way north to St. Louis, Missouri.

It may not end there.

The 2017 eclipse will pass over a THIRD seismic zone on its way out to the Atlantic when it passes over another intraplate zone like the New Madrid beneath Charleston, South Carolina. In 1886, a major quake of 7.3 estimated magnitude severely damaged 2,000 buildings in Charleston killing between 60 and 110 people.

Intraplate quakes impact very large areas. It is said the major damage from the Charleston temblor extended to towns in a radius of 60 miles from the epicenter. Further structural damage was reported several hundred miles away from Charleston in central Alabama, central Ohio, eastern Kentucky, southern Virginia and western West Virginia. People felt the quake as far away as Boston, Chicago, New Orleans, all the way to the island of Cuba in the Caribbean and the Bermuda islands in the mid Atlantic.

What economic and property damage could such a quake do in the latter half of this decade? We have just seen in Japan what a quake following the shadow of a great eclipse could do to the third largest economy in the world. If the US Northwest, Midwest and Southeast should all endure seismic events any time after August 2017 through 2020 it is possible that Nostradamus’ verse describes the collapse of the worlds greatest economy from natural causes: When the eclipse of the Sun then will be. The monster [divine omen] will be seen in the plain daylight: Quite otherwise will one interpret it. High price unguarded, none will have provided for it [in other words, the economic collapse caused by quakes and tsunamis].

I have often said and written that the current global economic system can muddle along changing its Show Boat Casino rules. But what can the “boat” do if a quake undermines the Mississippi under its keel. What could those floating casinos off the Mississippi coast do once splintered by Hurricane Katrina?

Humanity can play its economic games but Mother Nature and this planet can climate cook and tectonic rumble something unexpected to take our casino economy down. Massive quakes and tsunamis in the Pacific Northwest or intraplate temblors along the heavily populated and industrialized Midwestern and even the Southeastern states can pull down the number one casino economy of the world, the US, with economically seismic reverberations for all other global economies.

Enough of the seismic shivers for today. Now for something more positively awe inspiring. Let us return to the first two lines of Century 3 Quatrain 34 and consider the extraterrestrial interpretation of “monster” (divine omen).

I have been saying on Coast to Coast AM for years that before the decade of the 2010s is over, we will see the discovery of artificial light or artificial pollution emanating from nearby earth-like planets observed by new and a far more spectrum-sensitive generation of space bound orbital telescopes planned by NASA and ESA (European Space Administration).

Thus the monstre of divine omens implies something perceived that we see in the sky (i.e. lights of an alien civilization in spectrum analysis of telescope pictures taken in the latter half of this decade). The monstre is an “alien” civilization!

Such a discovery could also bring initial upheaval to human civilization. This would have a powerfully negative impact on all religious dogmas that sustain their belief systems on Earth being the only and solely important world of their deity’s interest.

The more unsophisticated dogmas of the Western Religions will be undermined. The more sophisticated and cosmically open-minded religions of the East already have a rich tradition of Ufology and extraterrestrial myths and legends, so I think a continued Eastern shift is religious thinking around the world would increase. You would still have your Is-slams and Christ-inanities of superstitious and unproven, faith based religious claptrap but these would be augmented by a more Eastern religious, cosmically friendly sheen.

The mysterious "Merkabah". Are they UFOs from ancient Judea?

Indeed the Western religions might do well to theologically return to their mother Judaic and Persian mystical roots. They would find a rich legacy of stories that — if examined with a new light — sound quite extraterrestrial-friendly, such as divine angelic creatures seen by the Prophet Ezekiel riding flying flame-wheeled chariots called Merkabah. Are these flaming disks? If so the biblical eye-witness account in Ezekiel’s famous vision sound like Foo Fighters — the flaming discs making quite a show around allied bombers over Japan and Germany during the final years of the Second World War.

I do personally believe that there is something true about the UFO phenomenon. The sightings in Belgium during the 80′s, the statements from NASA astronauts about having been followed by unidentified spacecrafts while being on orbit around the earth, are some credible evidence that we might be under observation by more advanced entities.

The evidence is there and I too could and eventually will write about my own UFO experiences as a scholar and as a first-hand witness when I write an e-Book about extraterrestrial prophecies.

What do you think about the possibility that intelligent beings from other planets might be soon interacting with us openly?

I have been on prophetic record saying the discovery of extraterrestrial intelligent life could happen in the latter half of the 2010s decade, with one caveat.

It will never come to pass with ETs making a show, landing on the White House lawn, etc., like in the 1951, SyFy cinematic classic staring Patricia Neal and Michael Rennie, The Day the Earth Stood Still.

The future, as I have movie “scene” it, has humanity discovering “them” with their own intelligence, their own instruments. It has to be that way.

We must discover ETs when we are ready to discover them.

So, with that said, write your government leaders and promote passionately the expansion of telescopic research into nearby worlds. One of these will have lights of cities on it that with enlighten our world as well as our otherworldly view.

PS–”Jordi” happens to have the same name as Star Trek: the Next Generation’s intrepid, artificial visor-eyed chief engineer of the Star Ship Enterprise, played by LeVar Burton. It is only a coincidence. Anyway, the latter played “Geordi”, not “Jordi” La Forge.

PSS—Subtropical developments are brewing. A cluster of thunderstorms stirring up gale force winds tries to develop into a subtropical depression south and west of Bermuda. I believe wind shear will blow off the anvil clouds of this effort, but be cautioned, in Predictions for 2011, I warned that Hurricane Season 2011 will be early and as violent if not more violent than the notorious 2005 season which saw Hurricane Katrina. That season started early in mid-May. The 2011 season may start sooner.

Here is a prophecy about it from that e-Book, published on 21 December 2010:

The Final Chapter: Alarm Bells Sound the Unsustainable

I like to parse out my astrologically bad news one blow at a time. The bad news for those who wish to hold onto the moribund past at all costs is good fortune for others of you who take these times as a challenge from existence to redefine and recreate yourself and then join others of like courage and celebration to recreate a better human civilization in harmony with nature. That is Uranus’ positive creed and gauntlet.

Uranus (either ruler of revolutionary change, or chaos and upheaval) is dipping into the sign of Aries (new beginnings and actions either innovative or hasty, launching either new enterprise or war). The transit will move in retrograde-reverse and leave Aries in mid-August this year, returning in 2011. I suspect we will be grateful for a breather to pause, prepare ourselves and reflect on what must be transformed inside and outside of us. Uranus’ passage through Aries will resume in March 2011 and keep goading and pushing us headlong through revolutionary times until May 2018. Then it gives us a five-month break before delivering one more kick in the pants forward beginning in the month marking the centennial anniversary of the end of the First World War — November 2018. Uranus finally exits Aries for good in March of 2019.

Starting 7 June 2010, Jupiter joins Uranus in exact conjunction, 0 degrees Aries. Conjunctions magnify the two planets’ potentials, especially when initially entering a new sign. You thus have the Change/Chaos giver joining forces with Jupiter, the expander of higher mindedness. Vast yet subtle forces are at play. By coincidence, this conjunction happens after the planet Jupiter has undergone a great change. These days we might rename the gas giant, “spot”. The southern brownish cloud band has faded to white, making the red spot of Jupiter, a storm the diameter of Earth, a lonely hurricane floating in a sea of white cloud roiling across Jupiter’s southern hemisphere. The last time this happened was in the early 1990s and when Pioneer 10 made a flyby of Jupiter in 1973.

Many of you can feel the Jupiter-Uranus effect coming on. Do you feel the past has somehow betrayed the future? Something’s got to give — got to breakthrough the dogmatic platitudes of priests, politicians, pundits, parents and smiley presidents? Do you feel like a butterfly desperate to expand, grow, fly free beyond the carapace conditioning within which the past-oriented society has imprisoned you? Do you want to become a force of change rather than talk about it? Do you see a world going unhinged if people don’t stop talking and start doing change, now?

If you do feel this pull to reform the self and the world, you may also feel frustration and get downright angry at another force that seems to inhibit breakthroughs and reform. Pluto is in Capricorn and it defines an era not seen in roughly 289 years when last the planet ruling collective transformation or degeneration of the human race transited the sign of business, executive power, utility and the creation of new kinds of political and religious order. An age of secular enlightenment leading to the American Revolution was born in the last Pluto-Capricorn transit.

New world religions are also born during such times. Two thousand years ago, Yeshua preached his sermons at the end of Pluto’s transit of Sagittarius. It was left to the apostles and St. Paul to get on with Capricorn business, fashioning an organized world religion out of what Yeshua had to share. They even changed his Hebrew name to better market the product in the Gentile world as that Greco-Roman brand, Jesus Christos.

As the conjunction of Jupiter and Uranus remains exact through June and into July the 90-degree friction they have with Pluto in Capricorn will bring on an irresistible force of change clashing with an immovable force of establishment power. It must be remembered that these rare Pluto-in-Capricorn transits see the status quo test their strength to suppress a rising collective desire for reform. They do this either openly, as King George III of the British Empire ventured against his American subjects in the Thirteen Colonies; or, establishment powers do so as passive aggressives by simply disconnecting with their people, whilst going on habitually promising change but abusing power in the same old way, feeling your pain one moment and forgetting you the next.

You see this happening now in Iraq. The people voted for a new parliament three months ago. Parliament appointees argue and debate what kind of government to form in the comfort and security of Baghdad’s Green Zone. They have running water. Their electricity is on 24/7. They do not go hungry, but on the streets of Baghdad and the rest of Iraq, all government systems are in limbo until the elected government governs. People feel that they are not heard and wonder why they voted after all. The car bombs and despair is coming back. Uranus squared Pluto is ripe for domestic and international acts of terrorism not seen since 9/11. The kind of frustration that happens in Iraq can happen in America this summer.

If you read the comments of my European readers at the PIIGGS blog page, you will hear a common grievance that the EU government is acting like a new aristocracy passing rules and regulations beyond what people say they want or need. There is a feeling of powerlessness in the face of this growing state of disconnect. If European aristocracies of the past are a cautionary tale, stray a little further and popular revolution follows. I do not see revolution yet, but Europe will have a hotter than normal summer of strikes and riots this summer.

Just when this Jupiter-Uranus square with Pluto began, President Obama walked an empty beach in Louisiana, devoid of holiday sunbathers, the ocean horizon empty of crab and shrimp boats. He wore immaculately clean dress slacks, polished shoes and a white shirt. Tie-less, surrounded by bureaucrats and brass (no unemployed fishermen or folk employed by tourism industry in sight) he beach combed for signs of the oil disaster. There was an iconic moment that I predict will haunt the president in the future. He turned his back to the sea where a slick larger than the state of Pennsylvania keeps spreading unabated to stoop down taking a gander at a recently swept beach to press a finger against a small dime-sized bit of tar that his bureaucrat and military brass handlers brought to his attention.

Hmmm. There it is! The oil slick, Mr. President.

The forces of Uranus declare: You were not out in the wetlands where you might really smell it, get your nice white shirt dirty with rotting blood-colored goo, or see your nattily attired shoulder stained with a tear or two from people that you might hold and comfort. They may lose their livelihoods and culture. You won’t. Uranus conjoined with Jupiter demands this June and July that cerebral “President Spock” be a little less Vulcan and more like the decisive Captain James T. Kirk. Change your Star Trek personal metaphor this summer, Mr. President. Stop being the “President Spoke” and become the President “do”.

During the summer of this square, governments become even more disconnected with their people and more full of talk about being otherwise disengaged. The people will become outright angry about it. When Uranus squares Pluto a climate of upheaval spreads across all walks of life. Outbursts will be seismic and sudden. Governments and leaders in an instant can fall from political earthquakes. Popes can fall to religious temblors of protest. A financial European Union may shrink or collapse from national mutinies.

In Predictions for 2010, I foresaw in detail how oil prices would be the source of the next economic global crisis approaching in October. I add here that an oil industry can plunge into economic crisis either from the growing natural disaster of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill or from a more active hurricane season than expected sending oil-festered tidal surges over the coasts of Louisiana and Eastern Texas. Most US oil refineries are in its path.

What existence is first trying to teach us this summer with a Jupiter/Uranus square of Pluto is to confront reality. Our spiritual, social, economic and ecological systems are heading for systemic failure. Time to sound the alarm, to bring together genius, to “under-stand” and see what is the source to all of our problems so they can be transcended.

The word systemic is defined in the American Heritage Dictionary as: 1. Of or pertaining to a system or systems. 2. Of, pertaining to, or affecting the entire body. The word system comes from the Greek susteema, a composite whole, from sunistanai, to bring together, combine: sun-, together + histanai, to cause to stand.

The Uranus square Pluto will shake us hard and long. Wake up and smell the real Aquarian Age, not this airy-fairy, twenty-twelvie kindergarten claptrap fomented for a quarter century by Pollyanna pundits of the New Age. There are problems that crystals and positive thinking alone cannot alter. They need a new consciousness and intelligence coming from a space of enlightenment even the New Age messengers have never plumbed.

The fabric of our consciousness to bring change is sabotaged by a hidden darkness. A blind spot is placed on our IN-sight. Dysfunctional education dulls us from birth onwards making us unaware of this invisible trap of mind.

Most prophecy watchers seek to find Nostradamus’ third and final Antichrist in his version of the apocalypse. What if he is not really a personification of any world leader or anyone else other than an imposed state of mind imprinted in each of us caught unawares every moment by this hidden blindness to the dark? We are jacked into this Matrix of ego-mind that is Antichrist. Uranus in Aries for the better part of this decade plays Morpheus inviting Neo behind the mask of “Mr. Anderson” to be free of this Matrix. Uranus can show us just how far down the rabbit whole of human id goes the invisible shadow of the Antichrist Unconscious. We can then “unjack” ourselves once we know its nature.

The choice is yours. You can take the blue pill and keep living in a dream world of the Antichrist Unconscious, pretending it is anything but a dream, or…

Take the red pill of meditation. I found my Morpheus. I have taken it. It is in my hand and only an email away from being in yours.

Revolution rather than react-illusion is the way of Uranus. The god of change can be a holy chaos if we do not listen, or he can be a radical catalyst in ways we can scarcely imagine.

There is nothing more radical than remaking a world where Christ conscious Buddhas see they are Buddhas, pretending not to be and stop the pretense with blissful understanding.

A new humanity will create a new civilization that will mark the summer of 2010 as one of the earliest violent contractions towards its birth. They will live something radical that we have never dreamed but only lip sync with empty words and idle minds: Living in balance and in harmony fulfilled is the only true revolution.

Meditation opens the doorway to that future for nobody else but you.

First, let me answer a question concerning the Great Eclipse of 2009 coming tomorrow:

Is it going to have some effect on stock markets as well?

MY ANSWER:
Not initially. See the next economic crisis coming from the places where the shadow had fallen: India, China and Japan. Seismic activity or an intensifying cyclone and typhoon season may be the trigger. It will be natural disaster related.

Today marks the fortieth anniversary celebration of the Apollo Moon landing on 20 July 1969. Someone else sitting on a brass tripod over a column of pungent steam with laurel branch in white robed hand was celebrating it in prophetic reverie on a night in 1558 around 451 years ago. The following morning, Nostradamus, set his vision down under the index Century 9 Quatrain 65:

Dedans le coing de Luna viendra rendre,
Ou sera prins & mis en terre estrange,
Les fruicts immeurs seront grand esclandre
Grand vitupere l’vn grande louange.

He will come to take himself to the corner of the Moon,
Where he will be taken and placed on alien land,
The unripe fruit will be the source of great scandal,

In a 16th-century Europe dominated by the Church it would have been heresy to suggest that Earth was not the center of the Universe. Yet, in this time of limited scientific understanding and widespread superstition, Nostradamus dared to propose that, one day in the future, men would be able to walk upon another world.

Even at the beginning of the 20th century the idea that, within 70 years, men would be able to travel in a man-made vehicle through space to Luna was unimaginable. Closer examination of the original French word dedans opens the interpretation further for a return of man to the moon in the 21st century. After man has taken himself to the moon he will later take himself within the corner of the Moon, where he will construct a permanent underground lunar base.

Look again at the quatrain indexing. Many of these seem to be codes for dates. Notice “65″ could represent the year (19)65, when NASA shifted its attention from the two-man, Gemini program to the three-man Apollo moon program. The God Apollo, by the way, was a favorite entity to conjure by neo-Platonist soothsayers like Nostradamus. The “9″ in the indexing could also be there to hint (19)69.

The last two lines could bring us back down to earth from space success to tragedy. I was the first Nostradamus scholar to attribute them to the US Space Shuttle Challenger disaster in early 1986. The American space program was castigated for sending their astronauts on the unripe fruit of faulty, rocket boosters prematurely approved to fit the budget. At the time of the Challenger disaster, however, the Soviet space program with its Mir space station was running smoothly with the complete support of its government and people (to the other great praise).

Nostradamus often saw several incidents in the future as one. The year “65″ might stand for the tragedy of the first Apollo 1 crew: Command Pilot Virgil I. “Gus” Grissom, Senior Pilot Ed White and Pilot Roger B. Chaffee. All three died in a pre-launch rehearsal in 1967 when a spark from faulty wiring ignited their oxygen atmosphere while locked inside the Apollo 1 Space Module on top of their Saturn Rocket.

Work on the Apollo 1 spacecraft began in 1965. The unripe fruit of NASA’s labors, perhaps. It was a national tragedy (source of great scandal) and great setback for the US race with the Soviet Union to land a man on the Moon. For a time it appeared that the Soviets were going to get there first (to the other great praise). NASA rebounded rapidly, completely overhauling their Apollo program. The tragedy was a huge shock and wakeup call that resulted in a far superior Apollo spacecraft design that would later win for America the Space Race to the Moon.

The US Space Shuttle program is soon to be retired in 2012. A new scandal is arising for the US NASA space agency, a scandal of government short sightedness, unless President “Spock” does something about it. Friends of the current US president jokingly call the cool and no-drama Obama because he resembles the fictional unflappably logic bound, pointed eared alien from the Planet Vulcan.

Obama is a big Star Trek fan but will he fund an extension of the Shuttle program until its replacement, the Orion Spacecraft, is operational? If Obama does nothing, then Russia will once again gain great praise as well as great political leverage because it will have the only working space craft capable of shuttling US astronauts to the International Space Station for several years. The first Orion space launch is forecast for 2015. That would be year seven in an Obama two-term presidency.

I predict the president will spook up, or “Spock” up, the funds and apply Vulcan logic to Congress to find the funding and keep the Shuttle program online until 2014.

Though I am not convinced of the veracity of your claims of prophecy or that of Nostradamus, I find your presentation quite compelling.

HOGUE
Then I would suggest you are not one to fall sway to a reactive, programmed mind, Bryan. I respect that tendency. People who are quick to judge for or against anything set before them are witless, pathetic flotsam doomed to undertow in history’s flood.

What I write about the future should not be idly believed or off handedly debunked like a pub drunk.

BRYAN:
This said, I am wondering whether you believe (or should I say ‘know’?) if the cosmic calendrical system you propose would be uniformly applicable to other planets within our solar system.

HOGUE
That’s a good question. No, is my answer. Because the glue of earth calendar systems related to the cosmos is our attitude. That is, both in mood and in position related to the stars.

Also, if one would stand on Mars and look at the precession of the equinox one would last about a split second before lack of atmospheric pressure and extreme cold extinguished such a fool.

Mars is a dead zone for all but perhaps the lowest cellular life forms. So too is Venus, Mercury, Jupiter, Titan around Saturn and so forth. At least that is true for this moment. But it won’t forever be true. And there is the new frontier before us.

BRYAN:
And what about applicability to other extrasolar planets?

HOGUE
Again, it depends on their place of witness of the cosmos. If it is light years from our position, it will be different. Their perception, different, I would think.

BRYAN:
A time of war on Earth reflected in similar events on planet Jeno far across the cosmos, for instance. Or do they perhaps all have unique, though interdependent, systems where planet Ousvj may experience utterly different events?

HOGUE
This Bryan, is truly a good question. I cannot cheaply give up an answer. Otherwise, I would support the very mediocrity of mind that I disparaged. I will meditate on this.

I think the answer is both “yes”. No man is an Island. And “no”. No Island in the sea of cold cosmos has a man that is not in some infinitesimal way connected to man on Earth.

I say this because of the Satori I had at age 21. I cannot find words to explain why I know it. All I can say is I had a glimpse of this truth back then. And it changed me. Life in the universe is both remote and intimate to itself. The speed of no-Mind is faster than the speed of no-Thought, and of light. It is not a speed. It simply IS. And this IS is immediate, everywhere. If we could travel upon IS, then no world is too far and no sentient being too remote from us.

BRYAN:
What if humans colonize other worlds? If I go to live on Mars, am I still fundamentally tied to Earth’s cycles or do I now experience the unique Martian system?

HOGUE
I think we would change eventually to a new reality. For one thing, living in one-third gravity would, over generations, change the body-mind vehicle we inhabit.

I have predicted before that the 20th century is the last century that will see a monolithic genetic race — say for surface color differences. The 21st and 22nd centuries will see, with space colonizations, humans of Earth become humans of Mars, of other worlds. Of the moon. We will not solely be terrestrial ever again. With the coming genetic revolution too, we will be as varied in human species as our pets. Different species of human hasn’t been seen since the Neanderthals walked among our ancient cave dwelling ancestors.

BRYAN:
Finally, if a planet has no life of any kind (though I happen to think that we will eventually find that life exists in the most unlikely of places) can a given planet’s cosmic cycle possibly matter to the planet?

HOGUE
It would not matter but simply be “functioned” I think. It only matters when the planet attains a state of being a vehicle for sentient conscious beings upon it or within it.

It is beginning to matter on our own planet, because we are beginning to awaken sentience.

Perhaps I have stated this upside-down from the truth. The truth is, it ever-matters. Only a few of us rise to an awareness and love-being to perceive that it ever matters.

BRYAN:
For example, could an Earth-Mars conjunction have some sort of metaphysical effect on Jupiter if there is no life there?

HOGUE
It probably does, but the effect of such would go unnoticed if there were no sentience to perceive it.

A tree falls in the forest, whether human eyes, ears, or mind was there to witness it. Was the fall significant or just a fall? Without perception, it did fall. But the effect, though definitely impacted on the ground and other plants in the way, and the tree itself too…does it have a conscious effect as well? Is that conscious perception always there, like an elixir, to be tapped into, drunk, breathed by the awakening ones?
