Nostradamus variously identifies these powerhouse countries as the two great Kingdoms of the North, or the Great Brothers of the North [or Aquilon, after Aquila, the Eagle Constellation in northern skies. Then in a classic Nostradamian double entendre the prophet describes these brothers will become friends at a time when one of them he calls the new land of Americh is at the height of its power. The prophecy is in a quatrain indexed as Century (volume) 2, Quatrain 89 in his magnum opus Les Propheties.

The numbers are a date: 2 [February] [19]89, the month Soviet forces pulled out of Afghanistan in defeat.

In December 1989, President H.W. Bush and Soviet Premier Mikhail Gorbachev declared the Cold War officially over. America the victor became the sole world superpower. At that time the two great leaders will become friends promised Nostradamus but with a twist. The Latin/French blended word he used for friend — demis — can also mean halved or split. America and Russia are otherwise known in the prophecy as the brothers who are not yet brothers.

A leader and/or a people he calls barbare threatens their fragile attempt at friendship. The many allusions to them in the prophecies hint powerfully to two possible translations. They are the Barbary Corsairs: a contemporary version of Islamic terrorism raiding the Mediterranean shores of Nostradamus’ France in the 16th century. These Islamic pirates-cum-terrorists of his day hijacked and sunk ships. The modern Islamic terrorist-pirate hijacks and crashes planes. Nostradamus’ Judeo-Christian bias might also hint barbare means Islamic barbarian, the kind of ruthless, bloodthirsty autocrats one sees in modern times, such as the father of Bashir al-Assad (Hafez al-Assad) of Syria, Saddam Hussein of Iraq and today’s Muhammar Gaddafi of Libya. They are Arab dictators, terrorists like al-Qaeda, Usama bin Laden who like Saddam Hussein is a candidate for Nostradamus’ third and final antichrist who set in motion the threat of Armageddon.

Thirdly, barbare could be an anagram for Arab.

Reduce the redundant letters r and b to one letter each and you get the French spelling for Arab: arabe out of barbare.

Barbare stands literally for Barbary, as in the Barbary Coast pirates, against which the young United States of America fought in its first war as a nation in 1805. The capital of the Barbary Coast is Tripoli, the stronghold of Muhammar Gaddafi and the pro-Gaddafi tribes of Libya who contest control of the oil rich North African nation with mostly Eastern Libyan tribes in the current Libyan Civil war of 2011.

America once again is at war with Libya in a coalition of NATO nations, sanctioned by the Arab League, joined by the air forces of the UAE and Qatar of the Gulf States to establish a no-fly zone against Gaddafi’s armed forces.

This coalition exists because members of the UN Security council voted for its prosecution to protect civilians from Gaddafi’s threat of a mass massacre of Eastern Libyans by his army. The vote for this Resolution #1973 went through without a veto. It is important to note that Russia abstained while American voted in favor of the No Fly Zone. What followed where momentous air attacks wiping out Gaddafi’s air defenses, command and control centers, military air fields and later the obliteration of his armored thrust to the suburbs of the rebel stronghold of Benghazi.

Russia in the first hours of military strikes clearly stated its regrets at military action moving forward with such violence against what had once been an old ally in the Soviet, Cold War era. Gaddafi, being one of the longest lasting tyrants in power of modern times came to power at the peak of the Cold War tensions overthrowing King Idris of Libya in a military coup in 1969, forty-two years ago.

Now, with all this background in mind, the next prophecy of Nostradamus, Century 5 Quatrain 78, is perhaps a chilling vision of the near future:

The two [America and Russia] will not remain allied for long: within 13 years they will give in to Barbare power ["Barbary" Corsair: read Islamic barbarian pirates = Arab dictators, terrorists, or a Third World war arising unexpectedly from tensions over a conflict against those of the modern Barbary Coast, of Tripoli, of Western Libya, etc.]. There will be such a loss on both sides, that one [perhaps America in this case] will bless the bark of Peter and the cape of the pope.

Let us follow the prophecies further:

The two-headed eagle of the Russia Federation.

Kingdoms given to men incapable of prudence. [Is he implying US President Obama, Russian Prime Minister and future President Vladimir Putin in Russia, over a conflict started by the irrational Libyan Colonel Gaddafi?] Then for the great brothers [US & Russia] death and dissention. (2 Q95)

There will be let loose living fire and hidden death. Horror inside dreadful globes. By night the city will be reduced to dust by the fleet. The city on fire, helpful to the enemy… (5 Q8)

At sunrise one will see a great fire. Noise and light extending towards the North [Aquilon in French -- the realms of America and Russia, signified here by their eagle emblems]. Within the earth, death and cries are heard. Death awaiting them through weapons, fire and famine. (2 Q91)

The rule left to two [Russian and America in 1989]. They will hold it for a very short time. Three years and seven months having passed, they will go to war. Their two vassals rebel against them. The victor is born on Americh [American] soil. (4 Q95)

To recap this trend of a dire and unexpected thermonuclear conflict between America and Russia over Libya, it begins with America becoming the sole superpower. The two enemies of the Cold War begin a path towards friendship in 1989 as dated by Nostradamus. They both become “eagle kings” in the early 1990s when Russia drops the hammer and sickle red banner for the Czarist white, blue and red tricolor emblem of the double-headed eagle.

The friendship is fragile, halved and prone to imprudent leadership, undermined either by an Arab (Arabe=barbare) leader, and regional Arab revolution, or a barbare (Barbary Coast, read Libyan) source. Then, either quickly after that, in 3 years and seven months, or in a longer breakdown of US-Russian friendship 13 years later, the US and Russia fight a nuclear war perhaps set in motion by unanticipated consequences arising out of the present conflict in Libya.

The idea may sound ludicrous. Nevertheless, if you have been following my books over the last 25 years, especially those books looking at collectively shared prophecies, such as The Millennium Book of Prophecy and 1000 for 2000 Startling Predictions for the New Millennium, many of history’s greatest seers with unquestioned impressive accuracy believe there are three world wars set to threaten our destiny. The 17th-century German prophet Stormberger framed this collective theme of a final, unexpected world war, saying humanity walks with open eyes into the third world war’s apocalyptic end of civilization. With eyes wide shut to the dangers, they did not see it coming. Can you see Stormberger is on to something?

For decades now a majority of us believe the nuclear danger of the Cold War years are behind us. We live under the illusion that thousands of nuclear weapons still sitting around in their silos or stored away will not in a short time be rolled out, switched on and aimed at us once again.

In Nostradamus: The Complete Prophecies, written in the mid-1990s and published in 1997, I often came back to the Libyan scenario that an incident would set in motion a Third World War after the Cold War was over. I wrote extensively about a number of prophecies describing a future act of terrorism, coming forth from “an iron fish” leaving a weapon at the mouth of the Tiber, the watery river road reaching Rome and the Vatican. I explained a potential scenario implied by a number of Nostradamus’ prophecies about the governments of North African nations like Algeria, Tunisia, Libya and Egypt succumbing to a fever of radical Islamic passions. Each of these nations have a small flotilla of diesel powered Soviet era attack submarines, any one of which could be used by the man who would make war (perhaps the Third Antichrist Nostradamus warned famously about in other visions) described in the following prophecy from Century 2 Quatrain 5:

Qu’en dans poisson, fer & lettre enfermée,
Hors sortira qui puis fera la guerre:
Aura par mer sa classe bien ramée,
Apparoissant pres de Latine terre.

When weapons and plans are enclosed in a fish,
Out will come a man who will then make war:
His fleet will have traveled far across the sea,
To seem to appear [surface] at the Italian shore.

I published the following passage about this quatrain in 1997:

“In several places Nostradamus makes it clear that there’s a Libyan (Barbary) connection to a future (terrorist) invasion of Southern Europe. Muammar Qaddafi, an admitted protector and supporter of Abu Nidal and other terrorist organizations, also possesses five Soviet-made Foxtrot Class diesel-powered attack submarines in his fleet. Whoever the man is with plans and special weapons to make war, his underwater journey to destiny may be dated in the hidden double meaning of the first line: When Mars and Mercury are in conjunction with Pisces.”

Nostradamus hid dates in sentences, such as in line one. Fish (submarine) also stands for the astrological sign of Pisces. Weapons stand also for Mars (the planet Mars, God of War). Letters, papers, (plans) stand as symbols of the ruler of intellect, Mercury. Enclosed is a code for in conjunction. Thus the line, When weapons and plans are enclosed in a fish, can become the astrological code for the date of the prophecy: When Mars and Mercury are in conjunction with Pisces.

Exact conjunctions of Mercury and Mars in Pisces are rare even thought both separately and frequently pass into Pisces every few years. Conjunctions bracket 2012. The first recently at the end of February 2011. Another will come February 2013.

February 2011 marked the spread of the Arab Revolution out of Tunisia to Yemen, Algeria, and Jordan and most significantly into Egypt and Libya. The next conjunction is two Februaries away in 2013. Perhaps Gaddafi could resist that long in the bloody civil war turned into a stalemate by NATO jets and missiles leveling the battleground, rendering both sides into armed rabbles. Just today (30 March 2011), Gaddafi’s forces have once again routed the undisciplined and outnumbered rebels before Sirte, pushing them back beyond the strategically important oil refinery town of al-Brega. Gaddafi’s professional and mercenary soldiers have hid their surviving armor and hit the coastal road to Benghazi Mad-Max, post-apocalyptic style driving in similarly beat up looking, sand blasted civilian vehicles one saw their jittery amateur, R-R-RPG (rompa-room-rocket-propelled-grenade) launcher shouldering adversaries drive. NATO planes cannot distinguish between gangs in vans and trucks that are friendly or fiendly. I anticipate the Gaddafi RV caravans next will decorate their vehicles with the rebel tricolor flags beginning their next offensive into Eastern Libya as a guerilla infiltration.

The strains of the Libyan conflict begin to work to negative effect on American-Russian relations. Former Cold War vassals of the two contest the region, the Arab nations (many of which, like Libya, Algeria Egypt and Syria are former allies of the Soviet Union) radicalized by revolutions versus the US ally Israel, the Saudi Arabian monarchy and the Gulf emirs.

The next most likely time window for world conflict comes when Neptune’s transit of Aries begins (2025-2038). During that period there will be a conjunction of Mercury and Mars in Pisces in March 2026.

That is EXACTLY 13 years beyond the next conjunction in 2013!

Perhaps events in 2013 will cause us to begin the countdown to a third world war one year after all the hoopla about ages changing and rebooting in 2012.

Events of the last 16 years seemed to steer away from my interpretations from 1995 — that is until now. American and European air power bombs Gaddafi the Barbare Corsair in Tripoli, with Russia abstaining and complaining.

We see the Arab world rocked by revolutions and in the initial phases there is much hope for a democratic outcome, yet equally possible like other revolutions of the past, the more organized and ruthless parties emerging could later turn these mostly secular revolutions of moderate Arabs into something extremist and totalitarian — far worse than the dictatorships they overthrow. Thus Tunisia, Algeria, Libya and Egypt become Islamist states.

This is what Nostradamus warned in his prophecies: a march westward of radical Islam out of modern Persia (see Iran predictions) into the Arab world. Egypt was specifically mentioned.

I am not saying this has to happen but I am wondering for the first time in 16 years if events are taking us back to the timeline I considered in detail when composing my interpretation of Nostradamus’ complete prophecies in the mid-1990s.

In the next blog we will look at the future of the Arab Revolution as viewed by the ever-pessimistic prophet Nostradamus.

I will return to a detailed account set forth by him in an Epistle to his king, Henri II of France, penned in 1558. We will refresh this prophetic narrative, moving my mid-1990s interpretation forward to events of our time and see how they might now better frame a clearer picture of a future danger to the world that war in Libya has put back on track for the train wreck of our destiny. By encountering this nightmare in its early stages we might anticipate the reasons why great brothers, great friends of the North — Russia and America — could do the unimaginable: be dragged down into a conflict that would unhinge the world in a nuclear war no one believed possible.

I do this not to terrorize you, reader, but to galvanize your power in the present day to make this future warning of Nostradamus a figment of his or for that matter my imagination, not a reality of your near future 3 years and 7 months or after events in 2013 begin a 13-year countdown to apocalypse.

Uranus.

Friends,
Cosmic influences take their leisurely, eternal time in a universe that is 13.5 billion years old after God or an indescribable “godliness” Big Banged a dark and unfathomable beauty called “existence” who then instantaneously gave birth to all and everything. Astronomers since then try to unlock the mystery of cosmic forces and phenomena with the prose of fact and objective science. Astrologers play their part as cosmic poets trying to grasp the subjective mythos in a language using planets and stars as subject and their aspects transiting constellations as predicate.

Life is also poetry. Astronomers measure cosmic facts, astrologers “meter” out an understanding of cosmic influence on us. Even a cop will tell you that when a full moon is afoot people act stranger than normal. Mystics recount that more people, such as Buddha, become enlightened on a full moon night than at any other time. What is released or induced by other more distant heavenly bodies is far subtler, so claim the astrologers.

Since 2008, we have experienced a number of instances where a collective desire for change has hit an often-intractable wall of status quo. An African American for the first time became president of the United States waxing messianic about change having come. Yet Barack Obama’s presidency tested in reality beyond seductive fantasy has often collided will immovable fact in the first year and four months of his presidency. Many of his ambitious pledges of change have not happened and those that have, such as Health Care Reform passed successfully through the legislative process mutilated to no one’s complete satisfaction. Once in office, promised immigration reform was postponed for a year. Banking reform too. Much talk of change but little “do” has happened in the face of a lot of “do nots” assembled in opposition. Now it seems the forces of change are swinging in all directions without a coherent course to take. The pitchfork primaries wildly throw out good incumbents with the bad simply because they are incumbents. A third party movement I have long forecast coming is currently a grab bag chaos wherein everybody bellows and protests their own agenda. The Tea Party movement is the first whining baby spanked at birth. Today an incoherent political catharsis may later gain focus and maturity. Perhaps…

Astronomers will simply take note of several oppositions of the planet Saturn with Uranus as mere occurrences. The astrologer will use these oppositions to explain all the above gridlock and confounded hopes of change as being directly influenced by Saturn (the status quo and ruler of reality checks) in a tug of war with Uranus (ruler of the new Aquarian age and ruler of revolutionary change and chaos). In short, the past is in gridlock with the future.

The first two times these planets pulled in opposition happened the night Barack Obama won his election in November 2008 and again on Inauguration Day when he officially became the president of the United States. The bottom line in layman’s terms is this: Obama’s first term in office has and will continue to be defined by this grappling cosmic scrum of a Saturn-Uranus opposition. Change promised will be hard to earn because the forces of “past think” will try sabotage.

Back in 2007 when I posted Obama Nation a year before Obama even ran for office, I predicted though his destiny to become a president was certain if he should push impatiently to become one in 2008 he would arrive too soon to that destiny without prerequisite maturity and experience.

Oh what an avalanche of angry emails did that prophecy spawn from Obama supporters throughout 2008. Yet, since then I have taken note 16 months into Obama’s presidency that the silence from those quarters is now deafening. I hold the hope that your champion of messianic change will take the rest of his Saturn-Uranus deadlocked presidential term to mature and perhaps live up to his ambitions in a second term.

Yes, Obama will have a second term in office. Now all of you on the right can send your angry letters my way and I will patiently wait for the deafening silence from that quarter coming after the November elections of 2012.

One of the reasons why Obama will survive the end of his political honeymoon with the American people into a second term starts in a few days from the time of this writing. Uranus passes into the sign of Aries on 27-28 May 2010, depending on which side of longitudinal GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) you live on. The ruler of “Change” meets the “Sign” of “new beginnings and new enterprise.” Following this the Saturn-Uranus opposition will return only this time it will move out of the mutable (read politically wishy-washy and unfocused) signs of Virgo and politically foggy-fishy Pisces into Cardinal (leadership) signs. First with Uranus in Aries, then a little later Saturn enters Libra (the balancer) in June.

Obama should see some slight improvement in passing his change agenda from now deep into July. Then the exact opposition clicks in again with Saturn and Uranus both in 0 degrees of Libra and Aries respectively. Uranus at that time will be moving backwards in retrograde. That means change will once again be effectively stalled. Retrogrades also represent times when we need to review our systemic faults. Since Uranus is in retrograde that means Obama and all those embarked on changing the world for better — whether that change is engaged individually as political, social or spiritually inward change — must “go back to the drawing board” as it were. Each of us must become aware of fundamental structural flaws in our change agenda, expose these hidden illusions so we can transcend their impairment of soul-given genius and make our dream of a better world a success.

Saturn.

Saturn in Libra during the upcoming months will exert its other practical influences: not only status quo intransigence but also Saturn’s other astrological dominion: the realm of reality checks. Real revolution will not be found in the world of human beings by lunging reactively to Uranian extremes. Saturn will stubbornly keep reminding us: React-illusion is not real Revolution. Change for its own sake does not always equate to good.

Case in point, the last time Uranus transited Aries (1928-1934) was also a time of economic, social upheaval and revolutionary change. The Great Depression was a monster child of that transit as was US President Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s positive and peaceful Jeffersonian revolution of the New Deal in America, which included successful bank reform and social security for all Americans. Change equating to good. However, 1928 through 1934 also brought the world revolutionary change in the Soviet Union, which miraculously caught up with other industrial giants in a few short years at a dreadful cost in lives enslaved and lost. The forced collective farm system generated starvation that carried off 3 to 7 million Ukrainians in 1932-33. Privatization was also pretty much liquidated in other sectors. Those who stood against Communist changes were shot or sent to concentration camps in Siberia or pressed into chain gangs to build the vast canal system to the White Sea or the huge Dnieper River hydroelectric dams.

The last Uranus in Aries transit had New Deals and people 'dealt with' for the sake of change, such as millions dying of starvation from Soviet collectivization.

Change in America’s Uranus-in-Aries inspired New Deal put the nation back to work on public projects whereas it put the lash of change against the emaciated backs of millions of slave laborers in the Soviet Union. Change arrived with great force and it was breathtaking! An agrarian, illiterate, backward society became in the few short years of the Uranus-Aries transit a literate, modern industrial giant often at the cost of snuffing the breath out of millions.

The last Uranus-in-Aries transit brought incredible change to Germany too. In those days many around the world initially believed it was good change. It ended economic chaos. It silenced social upheaval and riots in the streets between extreme left and right wing gangs. It brought back employment, ended famines and restored law, order and peace. The people supported its leader who did more than promise change. He gave it to them. They had food; restored national pride and jobs.

This successful German revolution went mainstream politically just a few months after Uranus began its several-year transit through Aries in January 1928. From May 1928 through 1933, the movement kept winning more seats in national elections, swelling their numbers in the German Reichstag (parliament) becoming the largest minority. This gave their leader the power to form a coalition government placing himself as head of state on 30 January 1933. In the final days of Uranus transiting Aries, the Chancellor of Germany passed the Reichstag Fire Decree and the Enabling Act. He abolished opposition parties and became Fuehrer of Germany.

The Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler with the help of Uranus in Aries brought to the German people “change” they could believe in.

Be mindful of this. What is good about change must be anchored in consciousness and love. Revolutionary times like the one we are entering do bring positive objective changes as much as they do mass mob movements. Uranus rules change. It also rules chaos. Aries is the ruler of new beginnings, but Aries also rules mad, hot tempered and ill-thought out rushes into war, hysteria and mass insanity.

Uranus will only dip into Aries briefly through the summer months of 2010. Then it will return to Aries in March 2011. It will finally leave Aries eight years later in March of 2019. We will finish this summer with a taste of what will astrologically define the decade of the 2010s: a decade of upheaval, the writing of many systemic problems and fossilized ways of fixing them on the wall for changes good and evil.

React-illusions woven into the fabric of revolution are coming in all levels of life. Each individual must learn a way of awareness that distinguishes between the two. Stay extra vigilant on this day, 11/11/09 and all the rest of the days of November. Jihad organizations like to play with dates including elevens and nines. This is the 11th month of the 9th year of this decade (11/9 = 9/11 reversed). It was on this Armistice and Veteran’s Day holiday eight years ago that Usama bin Laden filmed his infamous video tape of a dinner party in Afghanistan praising the “martyrs” who attacked America on 9/11, implicating his involvement.

Now to happier matters. Monday marked the 20th anniversary of the Berlin Wall falling (9 November 1989). It marked the beginning of the end of the Cold War and Soviet Union. Nostradamus may have foreseen the demise of both dying with a whimper when he wrote the following prophecy 434 years before it happened, indexing the prophecy as a date. Century 2 of Quatrain 89 says:

Vn iour seront demis les deux grands maistres,
Leur grand pouuoir se verra augmenté:
La terre neufue sera en ses hauts estres,
Au sanguinaire le nombre racompté

One day the two great leaders will become friends,
Their great power will be seen to increase:
The new land [America] will be at the height of its power,
To the bloody one, the number is reported.

The great leaders mentioned in line one are US president H.W. Bush and Soviet Premier Mikhail Gorbachev. The Soviet Empire had exhausted itself in arms races and struggles for political and economy hegemony with America. “We will take your enemy away from you, ” Gorbachev had said to Bush, and he began a snowballing reform campaign of Perestroika (openness) that lead to an avalanche of change knocking down the Berlin wall in 1989 and knocking over the communist Soviet Union in the early 1990s.

In line two, Nostradamus waxes dyslexic giving us the sequence backwards. Their great power is not that of the two leaders but the power mentioned in line three: the new land of America, which indeed became after 1989 the preeminent and sole superpower in the world at the height of its economic and military strength for the following decade.

Many possible interpretations might unveil the mystery of who the bloody one might be. In the context of the Cold War’s end, Premier Gorbachev displayed a prominent blood splattered-looking birthmark on his balding forehead. The number reported are the missiles selected for dismantling as part of START, the US-Soviet Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty.

In my first book (15 books ago) on Nostradamus, written in 1986, I took the hint of the indexing of this quatrain to predict that the Cold War would end by the end of the decade. On further examination of events since then, the indexing numbers 2 (February) (19)89, may stand for the month Soviet forces left Afghanistan. 1989 was the year Gorbachev met G.W. Bush in an impromptu summit meeting at Malta declaring the Cold War was over

Afghanistan has been the death of Empires. Will America’s empire be next? We await a decision by President Obama, the “black king” of Nostradamus’ prophecies on this day of remembrance of war dead. He will soon send many more to their funerary watch in cemeteries on future Veteran’s Day celebrations, as he does not yet learn Afghanistan’s harsh historic lessons. He will send soldiers to fight the Taliban in Afghanistan and not al-Qaeda. History wonders if he will to track down America’s real enemy, the one who dared speak of his martyrs, eight years ago on America’s hallowed Veteran’s Day.

(Armistice Day: 11 November 2009)

There are so many things about to happen that some might call 2007 more than the year of the century but rather the “century of a year!”

Beginning with this year and running through 2008, we cross a line drawn in time between the “late afternoon” and the “night” of one very long “day” in cosmic time. This “day” also marks the end and the beginning of two great ages. Many are quite enamored with signifying the year 2012 as the end of time and history as we know it by purported calculations and prophecies attributed to the Mayan Calendar. I tell you sincerely, that events in 2012, however earth shaking for good or ill, will weigh in as an afterthought or a continuance of what began to take shape from events for things to come in 2007–2008.

The events for which those of you into the Mayan Calendar anticipate in a few years are happening right now. Choices are being made, or avoided by nations and individuals alike reverberating in karmic consequences, both good and evil, guiding destiny in the short term in cosmic history of the next 36 years, the next 2,000 years in the medium term, and finally, for the long term in the next 26,000 years as a grand revolution of Earth’s cosmic history!

I plan to issue a full-sized eBook about this two-year period marking the multiple revolutions of the centuries on my new and improved Hogueprophecy.com in the first half of 2007. This bulletin is but a foretaste of what it will contain.

Starting with this month (January 2007), the next 24 months will see destiny take new turns for the entire human race. We now enter the cusp or verge in past and future history. You will see in the next two years the influence of the passing Piscean Age begin its shift into the vibrations and destinies ever more dominated by the coming Aquarian Age. These 2,000-year periods are but “months” in what is called in prophecy, The Grand Cosmic Year. That is the time it takes the Vernal Equinox to precede backwards from our point of view on Earth in a complete circle through the twelve constellations of the Zodiac. It is, in Western Prophecy at least, the largest of all time cycles. Not only are we about to pass into a new cosmic month-long “age” but also the next 24 months is the New Year’s Eve “party” celebrating a New Cosmic Year. We are now entering a new cycle of nearly 26,000 normal years. The next 24 months will mark the shift away from the old, prehistoric and childish humanity of the past grand cycle in favor of the birth of a mature and spiritually balanced humanity shining with enlightenment in the coming grand cycle. Human potential encased in 26,000 years of the savage, will at last flower to Human “reality.”

If we can come back to earth, prophetically speaking, there is a more pressing shift taking place that will have direct and personal consequences in our lives. Starting in 2007, we enter what is a sunset of the cosmic day passing into cosmic night through 2008. Near future history goes through this 72 year cycle of 36 year “day” and 36 year “night” in a 24 cosmic hour period. Putting it another way, the rhythm or heartbeat of history beats every 36 years.

We have lived history in the sunshine of sowing and husbanding history, for the last “beat” of 36 years. Now the onset of 36 years of “cosmic night” approaches. The masculine planting phase is over, the feminine reaping and harvesting phase begins. For better or worse, we will nourish and grow what is born from the previous sowing of the fields of history. How it is reaped will in great measure be defined by the individual and collective choices and actions committed in the next 24 months of the “twilight” between cosmic day and night.

So with that said, I will push forward and give you my predictive take on events taking place mostly in the first half of this two year sunset into the “reaping” stage of world history. That harvest defined and propelled by history in the next 24 months will last until the year 2044 when Cosmic Day begins anew in a new dawn.

The dominant spirit of the Piscean Age was faith-based religion. In its unconscious and unloving application it has blood stained the last two thousand years of history with thousands of Crusades, Jihads and religious civil wars fought over who is righteousness incarnate and who is righteously wrong about the true nature of God and his only begotten messengers. Time cooks misunderstanding when the master catalysts of new religions become a memory interpreted by those who never knew them in the flesh. The unenlightened translators of faiths and belief systems of Piscean Age religions have all too often subverted and twisted the call to prayers for peace and enlightenment of their founders.

In the next two years you will see the first quiet glimmerings of a renewal of all that is good in the past 2,000 years of religious striving even though it comes packaged in the culmination of a very loud and strident, blood-soaked wrapping of all that was bad. Have you noticed how religious extremism dominates the political and religious discourse of our lives? It divides Americans in political elections on religious and secular grounds. It is dividing and rending the Middle East in civil wars between those of the same faith, such as Sunni against Sunni in Palestine, Shia against Sunni in Lebanon and Iraq. A mother religion fights against their offspring. Judaism, politically endowed and made nationalist by the existence of Israel, fights with sects of Islam–a faith that has its roots in myth as well as lineage to the Jews. Arabs, mostly Islamic, believe, like Jews that they share the same first ancestor, Abraham, and lay claim to the so-called Holy Land.

Religious intolerance is coming to a head between now and November 2008.

This is a consequence of the Old Piscean Age negativity passing into the Aquarian, that it will not go softly into that new age. The good of Piscean faith based religiousness will begin its death and rebirth into a more scientific “Aquarian” path to religious truth. However, the negative and dark side of Piscean religion will grasp and try to destroy the world that is passing it by. The force of negative religiousness of the old era will try taking the world down with it, so to speak.

We could harvest in 24 months a long and protracted world war instigated by religious difference if our leaders are not careful and wise. To prevent this holocaust in the name of God, people must write and demonstrate to their leaders their desire for careful and foresightful new directions in diplomacy. It is time to talk with our enemies and find common ground or we will find ourselves piled together in common graves of the next world war.

The people must compel their leaders–Western, Islamic or Israeli, to stop feeding sectarian fires. Now, in American politics, there are the first hopeful signs that a new course may be taken. A new and Aquarian light flickers in Congress–the political left and right seek the center and a centering in new ideas mutual to all.

There is a call to assess and review America’s part in fanning and spreading the fires of conflict in the Middle East. And yet, as a reaction, the pinch of darkness of a dying Piscean Age possesses the US president and those who think for him. The new awakening in US Congress is politically handicapped by decisions made under a previous rubber stamp Congress of this president. They surrendered most congressional power to the Executive Branch.

They surrendered to the Chief Executive, President G.W. Bush, the power to obscure mistakes made in the Iraqi invasion and occupation by failing and flailing forward in a precipitous air and sea strike on Iran.

He will go to war in 2007 with Iran unless Congress as a bi-partisan body can stop it.

Look to March 2007 as the earliest potential window for war. Bush’s attack on Iran will create the American version of a military blunder comparable to Hitler’s invasion of the Soviet Union during the Second World War. He thinks a brief and devastating air and sea attack will punish Iran into submission and overthrow its Ayatollahs. The air strike will only widen the reach of a religious civil war in Iraq like a plague across the Middle East and South Central Asia, down into the horn of Africa, before the first half of 2007 is over, or by the end of September 2007 at the latest.

President Bush for all his self-righteous reasons is a closet Christian Apocalyptist (those who openly or unconsciously believes they are players in the foretold end times). He could do things in the next three to six months of 2007 that will take the world on a course of religious world war between the Western dominated lands versus the Islamic lands that Nostradamus predicts could last up to and beyond a quarter century.

Men and women of reason in Congress, be they Democrat, Republican or Independents, must dissuade this president and his cult cabinet of apocalyptists from lighting off this war–this last gasp of Piscean religious negativity at the dawn of the Aquarian Age.

They will have to be strong. They will have to evoke hard love. Willingly and methodically stripped of their powers over the last six years, the Congress are armed with all but a fig leaf of remaining congressional power against this dictatorial King George of a US president.

They have the power to withhold money to finance his current and future military disasters.

If need be, they have the power to throw the president and the vice president out of office.

Before this happens, Speaker of the House Pelosi will have to eat her words. Further presidential blunders and disasters will force her to risk rescinding the funding of soldiers in Battlefield Iraq and later compel her to convene proceedings for the impeachment of President G. W. Bush.

Impeachment proceedings could happen this year, by summer or autumn of 2007.

Let it be noted for the record, that the president’s fellow “Republican” representatives in Congress will tip the vote towards impeachment. Even his own party will abandon him for the sake of their political survival. That’s how bad his coming blunders will be in 2007.

With this said, the dye is cast on history’s crap table, America. It has fallen in the slot called “Middle East.” You are there now, entrenched for a long time.

America, you cannot leave as much as you desire it. Learn as a nation how to swim in quicksand of your own making.

Years ago I predicted that when Bush had finally blundered into the heart of Middle Eastern sectarian darkness that I would find myself in the ironic situation. I would begin defending his policy of widening US presence there because there comes a point when once one blunders in, one cannot retreat. Unlike Vietnam, there IS a domino effect playing in the Middle East. There was no spread of communism throughout Southeast Asia because the US forces retreated from Vietnam, but this time there WILL be nations falling one by one, consumed by radical Islam in the Middle East.

Last time America got in a quagmire to stop a domino falling. This time the US tipped the first domino (Iraq), now it must stay and stop the rest from falling.

For the first time in the life of this nation, America will experience the mistake other great powers had not learned until it was too late to go back. Once certain courses of action are taken and found to be mistaken, the survival of a nation caught in its own bear pit can only do greater harm trying to scratch and bite its way out. It cannot retreat.

Bush is perversely right. America CANNOT leave the snare of Iraq. American forces will not leave for a decade at least. Windows of opportunity often arise in history, but they close rapidly to the inattentive leaders and nations. In this case, there never was a window for leaving Iraq because someone opened a window in time to invade Iraq in 2003.

What has Bush’s mission accomplished? His precipitous invasion of Iraq on false pretenses will keep generations of American soldiers fighting and dying across sands and urban battlefields under which their richest and cheapest oil sources lie.

Adolf Hilter by invading the Soviet Union threatened his Nazi Empire with annihilation. Once he had crossed into Soviet territory, there was no turning back. There could be no retreat. Either Germany would win or lose the Second World War fighting and defeating communist hordes on the Russian Steppes. In Nazi Germany, one dared not argue that he caused the disaster, but equally one could not argue that, once engaged, the German armed forces should not “cut and run.” That was impossible. Germany needed the resources of the Soviet lands to survive and any retreat from that quagmire would bring the Bolsheviks rampaging into the Fatherland.

The same analogy applies to America’s historic blunder in the Middle East under the leadership of Bush. He, like Hitler invading Russia, will go down in history as the author of this catastrophe, and like Hitler, he is now right to argue that greater disasters will befall America if a Democratic controlled Congress and a majority of Americans get what they want, a rapid withdrawal from Iraq.

Of course, Bush has given the American people a self-fulfilling prophecy. The president is like an impudent brat who set his house on fire and predicts that the whole structure will go down in flames if the rest of his family does not “stay the course” and contain the fire.

America cannot leave Iraq, or abandon all those permanent bases for at least a decade. At last, in this year’s coming events, the true reasons for America’s invasion will be exposed to all. America is in Iraq and is about to punish Iran with war to secure the last, cheap resource of fossil fuels that keep our high-energy wasting, Western-centric civilization sustained.

The dominoes begin falling in 2007–2008. First the Middle East, then other oil producers Nigeria, then Venezuela. Fallen to rebellion. Exporting elsewhere to rising superpower China and India their oily wares.

In 2007, this catastrophic reality will give birth to a fortunate opportunity. Already there are signs in the US body politic–left or right winged, that they need to fly with both wings towards an eventual state of independence from fossil fuels coming from habitually dysfunctional and potentially apocalyptic regions.

America cannot get out of the Iraqi/Mideast tar pit in which President Bush stuck them. Salvation will have to wait while it is drained over the coming 30 years or so. When a window of change is missed, one has to follow the course of a historic mistake to its conclusion, its entropy. Everything tires out eventually. Even wars or Jihadists will, after a generation or two wear themselves and their blood-soaked religious slogans thin. Things that seemed impossible to end have ended: Apartheid in South Africa, the Cold War between the US and USSR for instance. The civil war in Iraq will resemble the civil war in Lebanon, only ten times worse in destruction and loss of life. Like Lebanon it will grind on for a generation and people will see no end to it, but like Lebanon, the Iraqi Civil War will expire by consuming its own source of sectarian hate fuel to exhaustion.

Across the wider Near Eastern region, you will see Arab, Turkish, Kurd, Jewish and Persian enmity and temptations to unleash doomsday also end one day. Perhaps it will end soon if right choices from all sides towards tolerance can be had. Sooner perhaps than later, if the devastation wrought by intolerance and war comes this year, making a diplomatic solution more appealing to all sides. All sides eventually will be lessened, and humbled into seeking a humane solution. In the worst-case scenario, a lasting peace in the Middle East will be delayed unto the dawn of the new cosmic day in 2044.

When then will America get out of its crude oil, tar pit trap?

Americans can leave any time after they temper their addiction to oil with alternative fuels. Perhaps 2007 will see presidential candidates for 2008 compete to define the boldest and most far reaching vision for America’s fossil fuel freedom. A karmic echo resounds from the 1960s. There will be calls for a decade long national effort not unlike the space race to the moon. From past crusades from earth to the moon will come a national call to stop mooning and come down to earth about energy use and waste. One small step for a future presidential candidate could call for a giant leap for mankind in a decade’s deadline to discover new alternatives to fossil fuels. The next president of the United States will run on this campaign and win. From 2009 to 2019, you will see not a space race but a grace race out of fossil fuel addiction. Not a drop of crude should be desired or burden Americans if yearning for it makes a single American hostage to the unstable and political whims of radical states in the Middle East, Nigeria or Venezuela.

Kennedy-like declarations for a Free-from-Fossil Fuel Race, either this year or during the presidential campaign of 2008. It will become a chief issue of debate on the road to the 2008 elections.
