US Neo-Cons cackle and Israeli sabers rattle to the Netanyahu government drum beat for an imminent attack on Iran. The papers, like the Daily Telegraph in the UK pontificate bellicose bets on the Netanyahu government blasting of Iranian nuclear facilities before Christmas. Israel is a regional nuclear power quite capable and willing to preempt an end to an enemy’s infant nuclear program. They have done it before. Israel took out Saddam Hussein’s nuclear aspirations in a breathtaking, surprise attack. I wrote the following passage about it for my book Nostradamus: The War with Iran:

It was upon a lazy, sun basted late afternoon, a slow day, a Sunday, June 1981, that a skeleton crew of drowsy Iraqi security guards at Saddam Hussein’s Osirak Nuclear Reactor station a few miles north of Baghdad, might feel the first stirring of furnace desert air murmuring reports of distant thunders out of the West. It is not known if any guards or heat lulled crews of SAM missile or Triple-A anti-aircraft batteries dotting Osirak cared to look up and singe their retinas gazing past the late afternoon sun’s glare at its source. Anyway, it was the first year of the Iran-Iraq War. Air attacks came from the east. Radar officers phoned in no report. Somebody forgot to switch on the radars that day. If the Iraqi guards and gunners had turned around and faced the late afternoon glare they might have seen glinting spear points without misty shafts of contrails rise to 7,000 feet and suddenly bear down, quickening upon them, shot forward by jet engines at an attack speed of 600 knots.

It was at that moment that [Israeli Air Force] pilots began their attack run and beheld the stout, circular domed mass [of the French built Osirak nuclear reactor]…One F-16 after another swooped down on the undefended bulk… each releasing their two 2,000 pound Mark-84 Time-Delayed bombs at five-second intervals. [Osirak] shuttered and fell in on itself devoured in the mouth of great and thundering fireballs. Ten Iraqi guards and one attending French nuclear scientist shared the immolation. [The] Israeli force climbed unscathed and quickly to 40,000 feet heading west beyond the reach of uncoordinated salvos of Iraqi anti-aircraft fire lashing the empty sky with wildly whipping tracer lines of beaded flame.

Chapter Two: A RAYPOZ to Reflect

What is missing in the current threat of “imminent” attack by Israel? Something as loudly silent as can be amidst all the US NeoCon-niption fits to holler for war because of a yellow-caked up claim reminiscent of a false flag of threat that hoodwinked an American congress and people to invade Iraq that Iran tried to assassinate the Saudi Arabian ambassador in Washington DC.

What is missing is not only loud with silence. The obvious is as absent as the empty sky widely filmed and Western-press promoted the other week as backdrop to a test firing of an Israeli regional ballistic missile. The hallow of the obvious reverberated with IAF aircraft on training bomb runs for Iran over the Mediterranean. The missing reality is something pushed against the wall and occulted by Netanyahu masquerading as the regional Winston Churchill of his day, trying to forestall the rise of Adolf Ahmadinejad Hitlerian Iran with the din of preemptive strike threats. The ballistic missile and bunker busting bluster is thick and Gafilta-fishy to those who can see what is missing in this most recently promoted picture of imminent war. If you can see what is glaringly missing then you, like me, will know exactly why there will be absolutely no attack on Iran come Christmas or any time soon.

What is missing is surprise.

The day Israel strikes Iran, the world will be caught completely off-guard be it months or several years from now.

It might happen when certain astrological windows for war open, as foreseen by Nostradamus, in 2015 and 2016, when he says, “Saturn and Mars are equally fiery.” In layman’s terms, war would suddenly erupt when the planet of the grim reaper of bad karma and the planet of war are both in fire signs, or better, in the same fire sign.

Century 4 Quatrain 67 reads:

L’an que Saturne & Mars esgaux combust,
L’air fort seiché, longue traiection:
Par feux secrets, d’ardeur grand lieu adust
Peu pluye, vent chault, guerres, incursions.

In the Year Saturn and Mars are equally fiery,
The air is very dry, a long comet:
From hidden fires a great place burns with heat,
Little rain, hot wind, wars and raids.

Nostradamus’ vision of a war against Persia (Iran) might envision a comet-like missile fall out of the dry desert skies. A time when great droughts speed the desertification of the Middle Eastern and Central Asian lands. The hidden fires of radiological isotopes for building atomic bombs secreted away in hidden Iranian installations suddenly burn with missile-issued heat lighting up the next great Persian Gulf War and subsequent Iranian terrorist reprisal raids on Israeli and American targets worldwide.

If this quatrain is indeed a vision of the long threatened and long awaited Israeli attack on Iran, there will be no bluster, no threats, no warning. Like the attack on Osirak, it will come with stealth penetrating Iran’s heavily defended airspace with no advanced, chest thumped out warning, like that that bellows from Netanyahu today.

If Nostradamus’ astrology in the future is forecasting the time of a complete surprise attack, it could initially happen around February and March of 2015 when Mars (god of war) is in Aries (the war sign) and Saturn (karmic black as an Ayatollah’s turban) is in the sign of the missile firing archer (Sagittarius). Otherwise, it happens sometime around September through October of 2016 when both planets of war and karmic retribution are in Sagittarius.

What is really going on these days behind all this smoke without a gun of “exposed” Iran plots? Yes, we hear of rumors of war as Christ would say, about a plot foiled to assassinate the Saudi Ambassador in the heart of Washington DC by Iranian-American operatives working with the Iranian Revolutionary Guards in Teheran. Where is the hard evidence? Is this going to become a lot of “Hebrew said Shia said” about the improvable?”

Give the world a Cuban Missile Crisis moment, Mr. Netanyahu. Adonai up your Adlai Stevenson at the UN and pull out poster sized photos of  Soviet missiles in Cuba. Let unquestionable evidence place Iranian-American cells in cahoots with Teheran run Revolutionary Guard leaders before you bluster bombing Iranian nuclear installations, irradiating millions.

Where there is smoke there is not always “fire”. Rather, there is a smoke screen for the real target of Israeli threats. There is a shield of myth making. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu is presuming that he is Winston Churchill threatening to preempt the Iranian Hitler Regime, but I see someone else imitated for a completely different goal.

Netanyahu is playing Kim Jong Il’s game of war bluff.

The North Korean dictator repeatedly threatens to expand his nuclear weapons program. He test fires his scud missiles. He torpedoes South Korean naval corvettes and fires a few hundred artillery shells at South Korean fishing villages. Heck, he even may have enacted underground tests of a crude nuke from time to time, just to scare everyone outside of North Korea into thinking he has at last lost his marbles. Kim Jong’s mental illness may let slip a million man army on a suicidal offensive stampeding into South Korea to resume a war that has been on hold since an uneasy armistice signed by North Korea with the US and United Nations forces protecting South Korea since 1953.

Once Kim has scared the kimchee out of everyone in the Northwestern Pacific region, Kim backs off into silence. The No Dong scud missiles are zipped up and put away in their bunkers. A Pyongyang peace offering ensues. The K.J. Il tantrum is eventually followed by a quiet time out and the offering to negotiate a reduction of his nuclear armaments. This tantrum and talk game sometimes gets concessions like food aid for his starving people, etc., better cognac at $300.00 a bottle for the “Dear” Dr. Evil “Leader”.

This game of mad man bluff really works! Other leaders are learning the Kim Jong mental illness ploy.

Netanyahu is not bombing Iran right now or any time soon. He is targeting his allies with the threat of the unthinkable: a war with Iran. It would collapse the oil market. It would send the world into a depression and piss off one out of six human beings who happen to be Muslim into sending their sons to join a jihad against the West. Thousands of Iranians killed and irradiated from reactor meltdowns stemming from a brazenly aggressive surprise jet and missile barrage of the Israeli Air Force on Iran would be the catalyst.

Unless Netanyahu “hasn’t” actually gone as goofy as Kim Jong Il pretends, his goal with all this apocalyptic war talk is a new regimen of crushing economic sanctions from the world community that will financially hobble Iran from continuing its presumed nuclear weapons program.

Netanyahu knows, as I know and have been predicting for years, that sanctions can eventually work to end nuclear weapons proliferation in Iran. Sanctions might even take down the Iranian regime. Ahmadinejad’s government cannot long politically survive a few more years of economic hardship because of sanctions already in place.

Netanyahu wants to increase the pain. Ahmadinejad actually needs Israel to strike Iran so he can unite his people. The last thing Netanyahu wants is handing Ahmadinejad and Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, a cause rallying their people to a fever pitch of patriotic blindness and thus help them forget their economic woes and growing differences with the Islamic fundamentalist regime.

I predict this war with Iran is not imminent.

What if I am wrong, you ask?

If I were misreading the men and their signs in prophecy, if a war was to happen now or early next year, it would be a political and military disaster for Israel. It would be an economic disaster for the world, especially for the United States, their most powerful ally. A global call for sanctions on Israel might follow and the US might let it happen if unilateral Israeli attacks on Iran sabotaged the global economic recovery.

What profit would Israel gain?

Israel's nuclear option is called the "Samson Option" after the biblical Hebrew leader, Samson. He was blinded and put on show in the Philistine palace. Called upon Yehovah to give him one last blast of strength to push out the pillars and bring the palace down taking the Philistine royalty with him in an act of Kosher Kamikaze. If Israel's existence is truly threatened, it will use its 200 atomic weapons to take down its enemies.

The damage done to the Iranian nuclear aspirations would only delay the program’s progress for two years. If Iran had no aspirations before the attack to actually “make” a bomb – just to know how to make them if necessary – they will definitely seek nuclear war capability the second Israeli warheads bunker bust the first Iranian underground uranium processing factory before this Christmas Eve or early in 2012. Two years later, Iran would have atomic bombs by 2014 — a year before Nostradamus’ first of two astrological time windows for war: in 2015 and 2016.

Between now and 2014, harder economic sanctions will do more to end the threat of Iranian jihadist nuclear aspirations and not Israeli missiles falling out of the skies to set alight “hidden fires” burning with high explosive, then radioactive, then politically suicidal “heat”.

Giving birth to this book is the main reason why you have not seen a blog in seven days. I was glad to receive many letters this week coming from those of you who have browsed through my many posted articles, especially a wave of readers chiming in from India. I am happy to hear from my South Asian readers and hope to get more letters from you and comments. My Indian browsers make up one third of my readership. Because of this, Predictions for 2011, will comment extensively on India’s future, as 2011 is the great “coming out” year for India as a world power.

I raise my eyes up from my labors and look over my shoulder at two developing current events with some concern. It would seem that the new START (Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty) is stuck in the muddy minds of bureaucratic resistance. I cannot tell you (though if you read me over the years you know) how important it is for our continued existence that we see nourished a US-Russian friendship and nuclear disarmament.

Ever since I gathered the collective prophecies of many traditions in The Millennium Book of Prophecy and 1000 for 2000: Startling Predictions, a recurrent theme has a Third World War coming “after” the Cold War is over, not before. It comes all of a sudden at a time when no one expected it; either three years and seven months or 13 years after Russia and America break off being friends over a Middle Eastern crisis (such as Iran). Signing the START treaty is an important step towards taking the whole world off that future apocalyptic track.

There are forces in Washington DC working to delay its ratification for the sake of sustaining the Military Industrial Complex. I have written at length about this issue in Predictions for 2011 coming out next week.

The other developing story causing me some prescient concern is an oncoming military crisis between North and South Korea. I have written a lot about it in Predictions for 2011 and on a level of one to ten, I feel a level “four” concern that between now and Tuesday there might be a further escalation leading to military conflict. I suppose we can take some solace in my “oracle” not putting the prescient alarm level at five or higher, yet I am a little concerned. I will keep you all posted on both of these issues when I can send my next blog.

Speaking of blogs…

As the Monty Pythons would say, “And now for something completely different: a Nostradamus from ancient Indonesia.”

The 12th-century Indonesian king Djojobojo (also known as Jayabhaya of Java) had a vision of the coming of a great “Spiritual King” or Ratu Adil (Just Ruler) from the West in the prophecy called Jangka Jayabhaya. This would take place after three milestones are fulfilled in the history of the Indonesian people.

First, “white-skinned, blue-eyed, and fair-haired men from the northwest” would invade Indonesia.

It must be remembered that Caucasian explorers had perhaps never explored Indonesia when this prophecy was made. Marco Polo, the trader and explorer venturing east upon the continental trade routes of the Silk Road to China from the Republic of Venice came through a century after Djojobojo’s vision. Yet, the East Javan Hindu ruler augured a multitude of white skinned blue-eyed men coming to rule with an “iron hand for 350 years.”

It happened five centuries later when the fair haired, blue-eyed Dutch did conquer Indonesia invading from the Northwest. They ruled for 322 years, from 1610 to 1942.

Next Djojobojo presaged these white men overcome by new invaders he called little “slant-eyed, yellow dwarflike men.” These would sail down to occupy Indonesia from the Northeast.

In early 1942, naval and army forces of the Empire of Japan invaded the Indonesian archipelago exactly from the direction foreseen 800 years before, in an armada coming out of the northeast depositing an occupying army that overwhelmed the sparse Dutch forces guarding the Dutch East Indies.

Djojobojo then said these little yellow men would only rule for a short time: “one planting of corn.” This seems to refer to the relatively brief three-year occupation of the Japanese, though time is cut short in prophetic hyperbole.

Finally, Djojobojo promised the people of Indonesia would unite under the wise governance of a messianic king or just ruler, but freedom and spiritual renewal would not appear in Indonesia until the tyranny of two Indonesian tyrants foreseen had ended. These appear to be Sukarno and Suharto; the former was overthrown in 1967, the succeeding dictator, Suharto, stepped down in 1998 after popular pressure aimed to expand democratic powers to the people over his dictatorship after an economic crisis.

The downfall of the last dictator would usher in a time of “bloodshed and troubles.” This could describe the Indonesian economic crash, the ecological disasters and social unrest plaguing Indonesia in the late 1990s. It could also presage the rise of Islamic fundamentalist terror in the 2000s including secessionist warfare and the catastrophic loss of life along the coast of Sumatra from the great Indian Ocean quake and tsunami on the day after Christmas in 2004 that claimed upwards of 150 to 200,000 Indonesian lives.

Djojobojo promised these crises would be short-lived. Before long, news will be received of a “Spiritual King” from the West who will come to “unite all the world’s religions” as well as its races and cultures in a “thousand-year era of peace.”

Twenty-one is a sacred number. It comprises the vibratory signature of the harmonic law of the trine, the Law of Three. This law, or better, this blessed reality, can be seen expressed in the highest forms of divinity. In the Hindu religion it is expressed in the Divine Trimurti, the cycle of creation, comprised of Brahma (the Creator), Vishnu (the Preserver) and Shiva (the Destroyer). From birth, life and transcendence, the Law of Three resurfaces in the Christian religion as the blessing in prayers to the Father (God), the Son (Jesus Christ) and the Holy Ghost (the Holy Spirit). In numerology, the number of the God heart or the Great Spirit dwelling in all of us and all things is 777. A trine of three sevens makes the number 21. Add 21 together and 2+1 = the law of 3.

While meditating on 21, this highest number of love godliness, I came to regard the essence of a beautiful ancient Greek word: philanthropy. It comes from uniting anthropos (humanity) with philo(s) love. It essentially means a love of humanity and a giving of that love to all human beings. It is the word of love’s charity and donation to increase the well being of mankind.

My philanthropy requires I keep writing these articles on current events and prophecies to somehow alert and help individuals make choices in the present that will bring about a better future for all humanity. Perhaps this is a good time once again to push those built-in buttons — compliments of each society’s conditioning that birth lands us in. Let us push that “Caucasian” button and pluck those buttons of borrowed identity that makes us think we are “American” or “Australian” or “Aboriginal.”

Let us push the button called “enslaved victim” who could not flash a “tilt” of protest without pushing the corresponding button of codependency called “enslaving victimizer.” We are not these button labels, even if we are hypnotized by our resident education conspiracies of national and tribal mesmerism to identify, fight and even die for buttons.

I must agree with Achintya. You rambled off the point from the first sentence to the displayed fourish quoted above. The article was about that nitwit of dictators oppressing the North Korean people. May he show his weak hand in history’s gamble and pass on soon. May the North Koreans need only endure one last dark time of national implosion before better times and perhaps better programming comes.

I say “perhaps” because new programming is not what anyone needs but it happens. Perhaps when the prison mind-set of Kim’s Stalinist hermit kingdom is replaced by a more comfortable mind-prison called “united Korean democracy” some individuals may have a better chance freeing themselves from all programs and become conscious of their divine spark. Some prisons feed their inmates better, give them more toys, a library, more chances to expand their minds behind cell phone bars, etc. As long as people stay identified with their harsh or luxurious national prisons and revel in their political chains — fascist, socialist, communist or democratic — they will not know themselves and govern themselves with enlightenment.

I write these blogs to provoke you all. I work very hard to unsheathe your programmed buttons and give them a push. It is not done to hurt you, but to awaken you and awaken me.

This stroke debilitated, Hennessy cognac sotting, Dr. Evil inspiring, hobbit-sized potentate with the big bouffant has played political poker with the world since he took over the family dictatorship business from dear old dead dad (Kim Il-sung) in 1994. Kim ever since holds his cards close to his chubby chest, threatens to go No-Dong ballistic at the mere hint of UN rumblings to sanction exports of the only thing North Korea seems capable of exporting. Kim can’t even ship kimchee but his repressed, enslaved and starving citizens can smuggle missile technology and nuclear weapons know-how to other developing nuclear powers — some of them, like Pakistan, squandering national treasure, impoverishing their people nearly as much to build a nuclear armed Dong as that Il fellow.

The poker-faced lip-hanger in oversized shades sitting at the gambling table of world politics has played a good game of apocalyptic bluff. When Kim squeaks doomsday threats, the world notices him, not his weak hand, and gives North Korea some leeway, some shipments of food, some time to dismantle it’s a-bomb program. He in turn stops waving his Dong and threatening missile launch on Japan, American even. His shipments of missile parts, plans and plutonium crockery to rogue nations goes unmolested since 1994. US presidents like B. Clinton, then G.W. Bush are suckered into giving time and money to pay off Kim’s phony gambling bet to dismantle his nuclear weapons program. When they were distracted by other world affairs, the kid ever goes back to his underground chemistry set playground and lights off his pipe-bomb sized atomic tests.

Kim is back since April 2009 from his long disappearance, recovering from a stroke. He’s back on the dictator dias as pinch-mouthed dogan of national goose-stepping soldiers on parade. He’s leaner and meaner than before, applauding the atomic bomb underground tests far less Manhattan project proof that he boasts. The last underground lab experiment light-off singeing his ploofey quaff got him a bang the size of a tactical Soviet tactical nuke from 1962. Now he thinks he can blow up the world with a bomb yield less than a third the size of “Little Boy” the nickname of the uranium A-bomb dropped on Hiroshima in 1945. His version of Little Boy is probably the size of a bus. Let’s stick that little dingus on the tip of your scud, Kim and see your missiles fall harmlessly into the sea — more like they’ll lose their erection on the launch pad.

The little Dear Leader calls his old Cold War Soviet Scud missile knockoffs East Wind in English. That’s No Dong in Korean.

If he’s pushed to it, No Dong will fall on Seoul and Tokyo by the hundreds. I wouldn’t worry. Tokyo has a better chance being stepped on by Godzilla. An Il cabbage kimchee wind from Kim Jong is a greater threat.

In May, Kim Jong Il was reelected as North Korea’s penultimate Dear Leader. He set off his largest nuke test on 25 May and celebrated it with salvoes of his firework Scud rockets popping and falling into the sea. Some Korea watchers think this launch and lose missile show is all bravado masking a succession struggle inside Pyongyang.

Kim Jong Il is apparently getting mopey as a Rev. Jim Jones at a congressional delegation visit. He’s looking into his near future and seeing nothing but Kool-Aid red commie banners and everyone in North Korea will be soon summoned to line up for a taste of Jonestown julep like it was French Guyana time for his North Korean cult of personality.

Kim is ready to unleash his chee in a Jonestown-national fit of auto-suicide. He wants us to think he can take down North Korea, his cult of personality, his hermetically sealed off Stalinist kingdom and take down his enemies too: the South Koreans, the Japanese and about 100,000 American military forces based in Japan, Korea or on station off the Korean Peninsula in Naval vessels.

Even China has had enough. China’s the closest thing to a North Korean friend agreed with the US and other major powers on the UN Security Council to construct a system to inspect suspect cargoes in and out of North Korea despite Pyongyang’s warning that it would regard such checks as an act of war.

There he goes again, one last round at the poker table, playing the “mad dictator” ready to blow his top at the slightest mention of sanctions and quarantine of his missile and atomic weapons export business. He’s going to jump off that ledge at the mere mention of a United Nation Security Council threat of sanctions just because little Kim was launching salvos of bottle-rocket rage and throwing nuclear barrel bombs down mine shafts.

Government controlled North Korean newspapers shoot off their apoplectic mouths last week saying they would unleash their 1.5 million emaciated soldiers and rusty tanks in a “merciless offensive” if provoked. The US, which for decades has peacefully protected South Korea with nuclear weapons, has suddenly become the culprit of an “undisguised declaration of nuclear war against” North Korea. The newspapers ramp up the rambling delusions saying the North after its nuclear mineshaft shenanigans can now wage sustained nuclear war with America.

“It’s self-evident,” say Pyongyang papers, “that we cannot just sit by and wait to die when the U.S. publicly declared it will attack our republic with nuclear weapons.”

So here it comes. I’ll jump off this ledge before I starve or go bankrupt. Watch out. Don’t come any closer. This time I’ll really do it!

My sense is that Kim is pulling another poker game bluff. He expects to scare the bejesus crickey out of the new US president to get more aid for his soon-to-collapse “Jonestown” nation. Pyongyang’s pug in a pale gray jump suit never waved his Dong in an American president’s face so brashly because he thinks Barack Obama is weak.

Kim Jong Il is in for a surprise. Obama is not the new naive Jack Kennedy kid at the poker table, and Kim is not even got a hundredth of the nuclear capability Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev had to back his bluff of nuclear parity with Kennedy’s USA in the early 1960s.

Khrushchev made out that he had thousands of nuclear missiles when in fact he had less than 150 ICBMs. At the Cuban Missile Crisis (and Casino) of 1962, he pushed like chips across a poker table a large portion of his pathetically small missile arsenal. He pretended he had a full Cuba flush, never sensing that the US president would call his bluff, react decisively with a counter poker bluff of blockade-cum-quarantine of Soviet Ships in and out of Cuba. Khrushchev blinked, showed his hand, pulled his SS-3, 4, 5 regional ballistic and Luna tactical nuclear missile chips, off the table, out of Havana, faster than a box of cigars.

As the song goes, Kim: “You gotta know when to hold ‘em, know when the fold ‘em, know when to walk away.”

Run, Kim. Know when to run! It’s time to retire to your twisty water sled and swimming pool outside of Pyongyang.

Kim Jong Il can’t even mount his scruffy scud Dong with a working warhead, let alone shoot the damn thing and hit anything but a pokey flounder in the Sea of Japan.

I predict, that before Obama has seen his first year in office out, he will surprise the world, and especially surprise Kim “Jim Jones” Jong Il. In short, Obama will prepare the US Navy under UN permission to board North Korean ships to inspect their holds. Kim will threaten to start World War Three if US ships even come close.

Obama will reply albeit in far finer and lofty words, “Come up to the penalty line. Give it a shot. Let the world see what you got.”

If Dongs fly they will miss their marks. If North Korean hordes advance into the DMZ they will fall out of line from lack of food, fuel and spare parts.

Kim Jong Il’s regime will collapse, not from a war but from a US president calling his bluff and exposing his pathetic hand in the next and last North Korean poker game any American president is willing to play at the ledge, at the hedge, at the brink.

Triumvirate of the Medieval Minded Fulfilled

The winds of war blew out of Bush’s breezy demagoguery in his State of the Union speech of early 2002. He was right about Iraq, Iran and North Korea supporting terrorism, but like so many “truths” grasped by this president, their importance was sexed up by an almost Dark Age mind set about how one selects the facts. Back in the Dark Ages the European interpreters of records surviving the pagan classical times, mostly the monks of the Church, often preserved information that was either innocuous or in harmony with accepted dogmatic beliefs. The wisdom and accounts of the past that did not settle well with inviolate beliefs were burned. Much of what we know about classical mathematics, science and philosophy come to us from Muslim historians who harbored far more openness to all kinds of knowledge in those days. That open mindedness seems ironic compared to today’s Islamo-fascists who would like to bring on a Dark Age across the Islamic world as selective and censuring of free thought as that endured in Christian Western Europe during its dark time. It would seem the bin Ladens, Zarqawis and al-Sadrs of militant Islam would like to make true what was an apocryphal tale about the reasons behind a conquering Muslim horde burning the Library of Alexandria, Egypt, around 640 C.E. Standing before the great treasure trove of classical knowledge, Caliph Omar ordered his commanding general, Amir, to burn the books and scrolls, explaining, “They will either contradict the Koran, in which case they are heresy, or they will agree with it, so they are superfluous.”

President Bush is not a book burner but he is in some respects a throwback to Caliph Omar, when it comes to what he preserves in his head as fact and what is rendered to the Hades of irrelevance. We all have this dis-ease programmed into our minds to some degree. A man of great power magnifies the sickness. In Bush’s mind, he siphons as fact those bits that agree with what is preconditioned by a dogmatic neo-Conservative ideal of a new world order. There is a serene certitude to Dark Age thinking. Brand with the sweep of your scimitar who is evil and who is not. Let the devil be burned with the details in the library of self-reflection.

In Bush’s mind, by early 2002, the war machine was being primed to invade Iraq because it supported terrorism, because it had al-Qaeda camps within its borders. Don’t bother him with the bedeviling details that yes Iraq had supported terrorists, but no not al-Qaeda. Saddam’s patronage of terrorists was Arab secular. Fiends of an earlier terror, such as over the hill bombers like Abu Abbas and Abu Nidal, from the PLO (Palestinian Liberation Organization) had sought retirement in Baghdad. There was no axis of evil embassy there for al-Qaeda operatives. Yes, Mr. President, al-Qaeda did have a few camps in Iraq, but terrorist soldiers of Ansar al-Islam, a Kurdish Islamist group located in Kurdish-controlled northern Iraq, mostly manned these. Yes, Mr. President, al-Qaeda agents did frequently go to that part of Iraq, but, no, Mr. President, Saddam had no connection with them. The camps were in US protected parts of Northeastern Iraq, There was no direct connection to these camps and Saddam Hussein’s dictatorship except that they both were on Iraqi territory.

Any round of evidence that did not fit the square pegged hole of Bush’s worldview was discarded–such as the fact that Usama bin Laden and Saddam Hussein mutually viewed each other as an evil incarnate to be stamped out. Any dearth of evidence collected in the late-1990s through 2002 by UN weapons inspectors pointing to Iraq not having huge stockpiles of weapons of mass destruction were shoved aside. Any objective proof that the UN was relevant and had demolished most of those weapons shortly after the 1991 Gulf War need not be scorched like the Alexandria Library, just scorned by this president, his Vice President in Chief of neo-Con ideology and the bullying, plucky, fuss and feathering former Secretary of Defense, Donald (Duckian) Rumsfeld.

Ask Donald if we blow the lid off a dictatorship that tightly covered the pressure cooker of latent, centuries-old sectarian violence in Iraq. Will we be in the crossfire of a religious civil war? –nah!

Plan for a long occupation? –nah!

Put up to a half million troops on the ground to secure the country?–nah!!!

Secretary Donald “the Duck” Rumsfeld had wished upon a star, but Jimminy Cricket! His dream didn’t come true: Iraqis will meet an undersized US invasion force as liberators, with flowers–not IEDs. And their oil revenues will pay for “everything.”

An Axis of three nations fits Nostradamus’ augury about a triumvirate, but there is more “evil” than meets the eye. Axis Evil number one–Iraq–was going down first. The facts did not matter. Saddam Hussein had no secret alliance with al-Qaeda. Saddam had no connection to the al-Qaeda attack on 9/11, but he had to go first. North Korea had weapons of mass destruction, but no invasion of them was planned. Iran was and still is seeking knowledge and fissile material to build atom bombs. They have a terrorist network but it is not linked to al-Qaeda. It is a Shia network. The Sunni Usama bin Laden and his army of fanatics are enemies of Shia ideas of Allah. Yet thousands of Americans who would soon invade, occupy Iraq and get blown to smithereens by roadside bombs in the coming years believed that they were sacrificing life and limb to take down a dictator directly involved in the 9/11 attacks by al-Qaeda. After Bush’s Axis of Evil speech, US warriors believed the Sunni secular dictator was sewn to the hip with fundamentalist Wahhabi al-Qaeda, Mahdi seeking Shia Ayatollahs and godless, North Korean commies in an organized secret terrorist alliance.

An axis of evil misinformation propagates such myths: the Bush Corp President, the Pentagon and a fawning, spineless US press.

You can take that to the bank of freshly overturned earth laid before silent stone sentinels of Arlington Cemetery or any other cemetery across America were the graves of 3,200 dead American soldiers-in-counting rest.

Nostradamus’ vision of a triumvirate is fulfilled in our times but the fulfillment does not appear clean. Iraq, Iran and North Korea are involved in a collective evil of terrorism, but it is hardly an alliance with a single goal and philosophy. It is a terrorist “three”-for all. Still they are united as a triumvirate by a projection of alliance that is so strong and pervasive that even Nostradamus bought it when he saw its potential in the future. I believe Nostradamus saw the mask if not the reality. He foresaw what would be three Eastern kings and their countries eventually singled out for destruction and regime change.

Why not buy into that projection from the future? He was a Westerner, a Christianized Jew, sympathetic to a Judeo-Christian worldview. Not Islam, which he despised. Perhaps Nostradamus could be faulted at times for interpreting his signs like US presidents cherry pick their intelligence. He might have had his mind set hard as cemetery stone like many US soldiers who fought and died believing their own comforting lies that Saddam had some fantasy connection to al-Qaeda and 9/11.

I believe Nostradamus accurately foresaw the false faced alliance projected by President Bush and his speechwriter as “the Axis of Evil.” Prophecy touched future propaganda and its consequences in the fulfilled prediction of a new crusade occupying “Mesopotamia” (modern day Iraq). Nostradamus was fooled by the masquerade that launched ten thousand days of war to come–that came–and will continue.

February 2002–March 2003:
Coat that Dove of Peace with Oil!

All through 2002, my “oracle” anticipated bellicose intent hiding behind pretenses of the Bush administration to appear ready to negotiate with Saddam Hussein and appear open for the appropriate time of diplomatic politeness to ideas of French and German delegates in the UN Security Council. These had lobbied hard to forestall a rush to war with a proposed beefed up regimen of inspection in Iraq. They wanted to place thousands of inspectors across every nook and corner of territories still under Saddam’s administration for at least a half year. It was not going to happen.

Early in July of 2002, an important astrological configuration, foreseen by the 16th-century French seer, Nostradamus, might open a window for peace on earth and forestall an alternative destiny of a 27-year war of international terrorism. It could depend on America taking a bold new foreign policy change of course in its half-century dysfunctional relationship with the Middle East. The change may come as a result of a catastrophic war waged in the Middle East by the Bush administration sometime at, or shortly after, the end of this year.

A CALAMITOUS WAR UNDER CANCER?

ASSESSMENT (March 2007):
The war “did” happen shortly after the end of 2002–two and-two-third months into 2003. The alternative future awaits a new leadership in America, who in 2008 may turn the world away from the 27-year war foreseen by Nostradamus. Six months before there was an Operation Iraqi Freedom that led to an Inoperable Iraqi Quagmire, I presaged the cause of our global discontent with the Middle East.

Up to now, America’s relationship with the Middle East, whether guided by Democrat or Republican presidential administrations, has been obsessed with one fundamental concern. Not a respect for Islam. Not a love for the cultures of the region. Let us Americans be honest with ourselves.

We are there for the oil.

The people with the oil in that region know this and see through our succession of Democrat and Republican administrations that preach democracy, freedom and fair play in that region, when there is none.

I do not deny the ample dysfunction coming from the Arab and Islamist side of this tragic equation. However, as far as [Nostradamus'] prophecy [of a Calamitous War under Cancer] reads to my mind, it focuses on “calamity” coming to those ruled under the Cancer moon sign. It stands for America, rushing headlong into a new crusade against those of the “moon” sign of the crescent — Islam.

… Perhaps this current president has already set in motion a momentum for war that his pride and prejudice cannot reverse. Christmas 2002 may not bring “Peace on Earth, good will to men.” In the worst case scenario, the new year will open with a war that could drag on for nearly three decades and derail the American civilization.

I write this on the eleventh day of what I will call the Israeli-Hezbullah War. It began when a terrorist unit of Hezbullah raided an Israeli armored personnel carrier, killed eight and abducted two Israeli soldiers on their northern border with Lebanon. Israeli retribution in the next few days was swift and devastating to Lebanon’s infrastructure. Hezbullah’s leader, the Shia cleric Nasrallah, declared open war on Israel. The long cylindrical shafts of a thousand low and high caliber Katyushka rockets built in Iran so far have rained down like Nostradamus’ long comet across Northern Israel as far south as Haifa and Nazareth. An even larger rain of lethal Israeli ordinance fell on Lebanon setting a number of its heavily populated urban forests of high rise apartments from Sidon, Tyre all the way north to Beirut on fire. Over a half million Lebanese civilians pick their way over bombed out roads moving to the northern frontiers of Lebanon and east across the Syrian border. Hundreds of Israeli and perhaps thousands of Lebanese civilians lie dead or injured. I write this on the day thousands of Israeli troops began incursions in force into Lebanon. A new and bloody phase of the war begins: close quarter combat between thousands of Hezbullah fighters and Israeli soldiers. Thousands more Lebanese fighters from other militias, as well as the Lebanese army, pledge to fight alongside Hezbullah to stop the invasion of their country by threatening a protracted guerilla war.

I write this on the 18th day after North Korea test fired up to six regional–and one intercontinental ballistic–missiles in defiance of American threats to desist. A new crisis was born. Japan’s parliament for the first time considered overturning over a half-century old constitutional restriction on their military waging preepmtive strikes on other countries. The ominous splashdown of North Korean missiles off their Western coastline so spooked Japanese legislators that they openly debated a new Pearl Harbor scenario. This time North Korean missile launch sites might suffer a surprise Japanese naval and air attack before they can rocket death down on Japanese cities. I write this on the day the world press confirmed rumors that Iranian officials and missile scientists stood side by side in solidarity with North Korean generals and scientists at the test launch sites of those No-Dong and Taepo Dong missiles.

I write this on the 27th day after what I call the Israeli-Hamas War began with the kidnapping of an Israeli soldier by Hamas terrorists in a raid out of the Gaza strip into southern Israel. Tanks of Zion have since then rumbled into the Gaza strip. The armed forces of Israel have begun a systematic, though far less devastating campaign compared to what would come in Lebanon, degrading Gaza’s infrastructure with bombs and their own “long comet”-like missiles.

I write this three years and 83 days after President Bush stood on a US aircraft carrier deck under a sign saying “Mission Accomplished” and made a photo op-friendly speech about all major military action in his invasion of Iraq ending.

I write this six weeks and three days after the the terrorist leader of al-Qaeda in Mesopotamia (Iraq), Abu Musab al-Zarqawi–a clear candidate for Nostradamus’ Third Antichrist “Mabus” (code for “Musab”?)–was killed by US airstrikes on his safe house 30 miles North of Baghdad.

I write this on the day it was reported that 6,000 Iraqi civilians in the last seven weeks have died from sectarian violence between Shia and Sunnis across Iraq. I write this after a bloody fortnight of new wars in the Middle East and a missile crisis with North Korea has turned the news media’s attention away from the bigger story. They overlooked a deadlier flash point for the spread this summer of the fires of war under the bellicose sign of Mars transiting Saturn in Leo. Our attention has been diverted from a dangerous turn for the worst in Iraq. The long smoldering threat of religious civil war in Iraq has sprouted naked fires. It would seem that Abu Musab al-Zarqawi has gotten his death wish.

I share quotes with you today from the past year of HogueProphecy Bulletins that presaged all the above concerning what would happen in the summer of 2006.

It is indeed a summer much like that inferred by Nostradamus, where the air is “very dry.” Enough so that great brushfires rage across the American West and along the Mediterranean coast of Spain. The “great place” of Europe is under record temperatures, and much of North America “burns with heat” under protracted heat waves above 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Hidden fires also plume from clandestine missile launches across Lebanon, Gaza and Israel. North Korea aims to arm their test missiles with the “hidden fires” of nuclear warheads. Iran arms Hezbullah with long cometlike rockets while it works to “hide” the fires of its own nuclear program deep within underground facilities.

The Middle East stands on the verge of angry stars of war. America’s proxy (Israel) fights its battle against terror for them. Iran and Syria fight their poxy terrorist war in return on Israel and America through Hamas, Hezbullah, and Shia militias in Iraq. Open clashes between US-Israeli forces against Syria and Iran may erupt any time this summer.

The US Secretary of State, Condi Rice, flies to Israel tomorrow (23 July) to begin diplomatic efforts to end the Hezbullah-Hamas wars and forestall a full-scale Israeli invasion of Lebanon. It so happens that Sunday is the first full day after Mars left the sign of Leo. Mars enters Virgo, the ruler of discernment or judgementalism depending on whether wisdom or ego reigns. May Rice and the diplomatic missions of France, Germany, the UN, also gathering in Israel this weekend, be successfully discerning. I doubt they will if negotiations do not include Syria and Iran.

Saturn continues its peace-limiting transit of Leo until September 2007. Negotiating a road map to Middle Eastern peace could still see diplomats take self-centered “my way or the highway” stances in peace talks that go nowhere.

There will be a call for an international UN stabilization force to guard Southern Lebanon. Most likely this will happen after Israeli troops occupying the area hand it over to the UN forces. I am wondering how they will adequately do this while bogged down in a guerilla war with the Lebanese and Hezbullah. The potential for UN intervention begs me to explore soon the famous and often mistranslated prophecy of Nostradamus in Century 2 Quatrain 2. It describes a leader in the Middle East with a “blue turban.” The literal translation of “teste bleu” is “blue head.” Perhaps rather than turbans, Nostradamus infers the blue helmet of UN troops guarding the Israeli-Lebanese border in the near future. I will also soon share with you the prophecy that names “Hamas” and its future outright in a trick word play.

The article will celebrate the day George W. Bush thought the war in Iraq was effectively over, and “Bill-pulled-a-man’s” salute, to the troops in full military attire. He was all too eager to break with traditions set forth by another “George”–the first president of the United States–who believed wearing a military uniform as a “civilian” Chief of State was anti-democratic. George Washington, like a majority of presidents after him, served their country in the armed forces. All except the current president have symbolically honored the constitutional separation of the supreme civilian leadership from the subservient armed forces by wearing civilian clothes.

They understood that presidents in military uniform gave the impression of dictatorship by military junta.

Anyway, I think the better time to release a bulletin about the future of the Iraq war is on the third anniversary of the catastrophe’s true beginning. That was when President Bush stood for his most notorious photo op at a podium under the shadow of the banner “Mission Accomplished” and declared the successful completion of major military operations in Iraq.

I think the subject of another recent photo op in March 2006 may have far more important and far reaching future ramifications than the US occupation of Iraq. It took place under sultry, bronzed-smoggy skies of New Delhi, India, with the US president, glowing with satisfaction and sweat from the early days of the subcontinent’s hot season, shaking hands with the turbanned prime minister of India.

President Bush had boldly gone where only Nixon tread nearly 40 years before. He had engaged in his own version of trilateral diplomacy. Nixon went to China, offered diplomatic relations and brought it out of its isolation. He put America in the position of peace broker between the Soviet Union and China–former Communist allies on the verge of waging nuclear war in the early 1970s. His three-way diplomatic efforts set the stage for normalizing Chinese relations with the world. They helped initiate nuclear arms reductions between the US and USSR, leading to the end of the Cold War a few decades later.

President Bush in March 2006 nobly sought to erase a US policy hangover from the Cold War that politically and economically isolated India. On the surface the president’s diplomatic maneuver seems just as bold and brilliant as that gambled by Nixon. America, the most powerful democracy, has at last embraced the most populous democracy in the world. Nixon’s trilateral diplomacy helped the USSR and China avoid nuclear conflict. We all can hope Bush’s trilateral gambit will place the US in a political and economic position to avert nuclear conflict between China and India. America, the elder superpower of the 20th century, could help the two greatest superpowers of the 21st century peacefully arrive on the world stage.

The photo-op in March 2006 celebrated Bush signing a US-Indian accord that would open some of India’s atomic reactors to international inspectors.

However…

The Indian prime minister and his government would not sign onto such an agreement unless it could keep a third of their nuclear reactors slated for “military” use free of any international inspection. Without pause, without foresight, the US president intends by this agreement to out-source US nuclear atomic fuel and know-how to a renegade nuclear arms maker. The deal will not only improve the Indian civilian nuclear industry, but help upgrade India’s nuclear military industrial complex.

Bush has used trilateral diplomacy to potentially launch a three-way Asian nuclear arms race!

The technical information and nuclear materials Bush will share with India can easily pass without inspection from the civilian to the military sector and increase India’s nuclear arsenal threefold!

The president never consulted the US Congress before going off to sign away nuclear know-how to India, nor was he prepared to reap such strident protests from the rogue nuclear powers. One of these was Pakistan, India’s arch enemy, and his chief Central Asian ally in the war against terrorism. Iran and North Korea disparaged the Bush-India deal as hypocrisy. Why should the US isolate, sanction and threaten military attack on them while rewarding the “renegade” nuclear weapons program of India?

Bush blithely defended his agreement saying that although India in the past had broken international laws against nuclear proliferation, they had never traded in nuclear weapons technology with other rogue nations.

Now, thanks to this agreement, India does not have to share what it knows to start a nuclear arms race.

Bush will start it for them.

What will China do with a new and improved nuclear armed, cross-border rival like India? It will build more atomic weapons and ballistic missiles. China will trade in more nuclear weapons technology with Pakistan, its longtime ally against India. Bush’s deal with India can only encourage Iran and North Korea to continue their nuclear weapon programs. If China and Pakistan engage in a nuclear arms race with India, eventually Asian nations with peaceful nuclear industries will have to follow suit for their protection. Look to South Korea building an arsenal to forestall a surprise attack from China and North Korea. Taiwan will build atomic bombs to discourage a Chinese invasion. Japan will also go nuclear. The proliferation of nuclear weapons across the Asian Pacific rim will further threaten America.

The inherent hypocrisies of Bush’s Indian nuclear agreement illuminates what steps you have to follow to join the nuclear proliferating club:

1. Build your bombs secretly.
2. Test one, or announce you have a few already made, like North Korea did.
3. Then economically plan to hunker down suffering a decade or more of sanctions and threats.
4. Be patient, America and the world will come around.
5. Who knows? The Americans and their president are so busy out-sourcing their jobs and know-how to buy your cheap goods and hire your cheap labor, they might help you make a better A bomb too.

I have stated in earlier bulletins China’s long-term plan to build 600 intercontinental ballistic missiles by 2015 to protect its Pacific flank with America. Bush has just given China a reason to build many more than that.

At the onset of the president’s second term in early 2005, Henry Kissinger warned the world that the greatest danger it faces in the next four years is nuclear proliferation spreading beyond anyone’s control.

Ink mixed with grime from New Delhi’s notorious air pollution may have dried on the papers promising this nuclear agreement but the US Congress still must ratify it.

This March, the stone faces of three lions–those visible in the state symbol of the Indian democracy–looked down upon their prime minister and President Bush signing the nuclear agreement.

By this deed have they set in motion the following prophecy from Nostradamus?

(Century 7, Quatrain 16:)

Entree profonde par la grand Royne faicte
Rendra le lieu puissant inaccessible:
L’armee des troys lyons sera deffaite,
Faisant dedans cas hideux & terrible.

The deep entry made by the great queen
Will render the place powerful and inaccessible:
The army of the three lions will be defeated,
Causing within a hideous and terrible event.

The Statue of Liberty could represent the queen Nostradamus uses to symbolize the US. The “deep entry” is the agreement signed by Bush. It will make India “powerful” yet apparently keep its nuclear weapons aspirations self-contained and “inaccessible” to international law as before. In some future war, born from the tensions caused by a nuclear arms race yet unborn, the Chinese or Pakistanis defeat the Indian army perhaps through the “hideous and terrible event” of a nuclear war.

The above is nothing more than my interpretation. It may be an incorrect reading of the symbols of a man trying to foresee the future nearly a half millennium before.

But what if I have read Nostradamus right?

You have the power to make me wrong, if you are citizens of America, with keyboard at the ready, or pen poised on paper. Write your representatives in Congress. President Bush must go back and negotiate a better treaty. Tell them that unless the nuclear agreement makes ALL of India’s nuclear industry open to international inspection it will not be ratified.

Let us not join with the American president in the act that 17th-century prophet Stormberger warned could cause a third world war. Let us not walk “with eyes wide open into the final conflagration.”

Let us shake the president, the Congress, the American and Indian people awake so they can see the consequences of ill thought agreements signed and ratified today that set the stage for a nuclear world war tomorrow.

Write your representatives in Washington, you Americans. Take back your golden future. Write to the American Embassy, you peace loving citizens of India. Your ancient epic poem, the Mahabharata, already tells the story of a nuclear war scourging your land. Keep your blessed land of enlightenment safe from another nuclear war.

Nuclear proliferation can be stopped. ‘Abdu’l-Baha, the Bahai prophet who foresaw the creation of the League of Nations and United Nations, said that worldwide disarmament can only take place when ALL countries, together at the same time, disarm. This means that nuclear powers, be they rogue or respected members of the nuclear weapons club, must someday come together at the same time and render their weapons of mass destruction harmless. Let peace loving people of the world, right now, press your leaders in every land that has A bombs, and in every land that wants them. Make the disarmament dream a multilateral reality.

Terrorism in the world has escalated, not diminished, after the US occupation of Iraq. Moreover, it would seem that even so-called civilized countries have adopted the terrorist military taste for preemptive attack without an objective cause. Each day, week, month, passes with no proof to back up President Bush’s motivation for this war. The Iraqi weapons of mass destruction have apparently become weapons of mass occultation, soon to become weapons of amassed fictions.

At least the oil is real. It hasn’t vanished into thin air.

In January 2003, I did an interview for LauraLee Online where one of my predictions earned a lot of angry emails. On the show I predicted that people of the future would label America’s planned invasion of Iraq as the first stage of its “Oil Wars.” I said these imperial adventures intended to prop US-friendly puppet democracies first in Iraq, then Iran and Saudi Arabia with the US strategic goal of dramatically lowering fossil fuel prices while increasing the flow of oil to US industries. (Oh, before I forget, I might also add Liberia to the mix. A few thousand US troops will be arriving there shortly, as it is yet another failed country needing our “help” that according to the BBC sits on a recently discovered and potentially rich oil reserve.)

Here we are a little over two months after President Bush declared the war in Iraq officially over on 1 May and those angry emails about my “Oil War” prediction have vanished faster than an Iraqi weapon of mass destruction. The oil of Iraq flows under US control. Vice President Dick Cheney’s former oil company, Halburton, has received contracts to rebuild and modernize Iraq’s oil industry without any other bids being considered by the White House. Back in the latter half of April, US Marines and army units of the 1st Armored and 3rd Divisions entered Baghdad with specific orders to secure the buildings and records of only one Iraqi government agency. They did not receive orders from the Bush administration to secure the hospitals, nor the administrative offices overseeing the water systems or food distribution. The Marines did not protect the national archives or the museums. Law and order were not their first priority, nor was sustaining food, power, water or protecting cultural heritage of the Iraqi people. They left the ministries that supply these needs and the museums wide open to plundering mobs. They left the “liberated” citizens of Baghdad at the mercy of darkened streets filled with hooligans and the looters for weeks on end. Hundreds of Iraqi civilians died in the coming chaos. The only assets of the Iraqi people carefully guarded by the invaders were the buildings of the Ministry of Oil.

The English newspaper The Guardian reported on 3 June 2004 that US Deputy Defense Secretary, Paul Wolfowitz, publicly admitted that oil was the fundamental reason for the invasion. According to their sources, Wolfowitz–one of the founding fathers of the US Neo-Concervative “new world order” agenda–made the following comment in an address to delegates at an Asian security summit in Singapore. He was asked to explain why America was ready to attack Iraq but not North Korea. Unlike the dictator of Iraq, the dictator of North Korea had a well-known and documented nuclear, biological and chemical weapons stockpile and the capability to launch them at America and its Far Eastern allies.

Wolfowitz replied, “Let’s look at it simply. The most important difference between North Korea and Iraq is that economically, we just had no choice in Iraq. The country swims on a sea of oil.”

Even two months into the occupation it is not unfair to say that US soldiers guard the pipelines, not the people of Iraq.

Using the “C” Word
Two days after the 11 September 2001 terrorist attack on America, Wolfowitz’s chief disciple, the US president, indelicately defined his war against Islamist terrorism as “a great crusade.”

How can I explain to those of you who are not Islamic or Arab how ominous the “C” word sounds when used by the world’s most powerful Christian leader? It doesn’t matter that Bush applies the term for a war against a few extremists in the Islamic world. The Middle East looks back 1,000 years upon the bloody Christian crusades — the “preemptive” Christian colonial holy wars in the Middle East — as if they took place yesterday. Imagine if Bush had declared a “holocaust” on a few Jewish terrorists, not intending to implicate the whole Jewish people? How would a majority of Jews view his use of the “H” word? Arabs watch and wait for signs of a crusade happening again, just as Jews are ever vigilant for the signs of a new Holocaust.

Perhaps Nostradamus foresaw Bush’s “Crusade”
Over four-and-a-half centuries ago, Nostradamus said the following in Century 3, Quatrain 61 of his prescient masterpiece Les Propheties

La grande bande & ƒecte crucigere,
Se dreƒƒera en Meƒopotamie:
Du proche fleuue compagnie legere,
Que telle loy tiendra pour ennemie.

The great host and sect of the crusaders,
Will be massed in Mesopotamia:
Of the nearby river the fast company,
That such law will hold for the enemy.

It would seem that Nostradamus has written a compound prophecy embracing two modern invasions of Mesopotamia (modern day Iraq) into one: the Gulf War of 1991 and the land invasion and occupation of Iraq via its southern (Mesopotamian) approaches in 2003.

Back in 1997, I wrote the following interpretation of C3 Q61 for Nostradamus: The Complete Prophecies. My views then covered what now appear to be the first part of this compound prophecy:

“It could be said that Operation Desert Storm was the most recent Crusade of Christian armies in the Middle East; moreover, it starred the largest cast of Christian soldiers ever to fight in ‘Mesopotamia’ in the 20th or any other century. Rick Atkinson in his book Crusade: The Untold Story of the Gulf War estimates that the West sent 4,000 tanks, 150 ships, and 600,000 soldiers (the vast majority from the Christian nations). The ‘nearby river’ is the Euphrates during the rapid attack by the 101st Airborne Division cutting across Highway 8 next to the river. This action effectively cut Saddam Hussein’s supply line to Kuwait during the 100-hour ground war. The final line may take us into the near future if we can define just which ‘law’ holds in Iraq: Is it the brutal ‘law’ of Saddam Hussein, or the sanctions of the United Nations? One could argue that the swiftness of the Allied encircling maneuver spearheaded by the 101st Airborne helped bring the conflict to an end before Saddam Hussein’s Republican Guard divisions were destroyed. After the peace, he could use these relatively intact elite units to tighten his hold on Iraq.”

A revision of my interpretation would include a second invasion and occupation. Line 1 and 2’s phrase “great host and sect of the crusaders will be massed in Mesopotamia” is more applicable to the US forces occupying the region today. I believe President Bush’s use of the word “crusade” is a classic catch phrase Nostradamus wouldn’t have overlooked. Moreover, it is an objective fact mostly overlooked by the American media that a major invasion of Christian missionaries and aid organizations is at this moment taking place in Iraq. Andrew Gumbel’s 22 April article for the UK newspaper The Independent estimates that the Southern Baptist Convention had already sent 800 missionary volunteers to Iraq even as the American invasion was still ongoing. Gumbel was told by SBC sources that the missionaries were “on their way to Iraq to deliver food packages labeled with a verse from St. John’s Gospel, in Arabic, saying that ‘grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ.’”

The Christian charity called Samaritan’s Purse will also soon pass food and the Christian faith to the Iraqis. Franklin Graham, evangelist Billy Graham’s son runs it. Franklin Graham is more than a long-standing friend of Bush. He is a significant theological mentor. Bush has written in Christian magazines that Reverend Franklin and his father were pivotal in renewing his faith and religious committment as a Christian after his bout with alcoholism. The American public choose to be blithley unaware of Graham’s hatred of Islam. After the 9-11 attacks, and around the same time Bush declared his war on Islamist terrorists a “crusade,” Franklin Graham made a highly publicized blanket condemnation of Islam on the Christian TV show 700 Club calling it “a very evil and wicked religion.” He has often written that Islam and Christianity will fight each other before the second coming of Christ. Franklin Graham, like his father, who has been the confessor of several American presidents, believes Christ’s coming is imminent.

Given the indelicate words of this prominent Islamaphobe, one might expect the president to distance himself, but no. Gumbel reports that the president invited Franklin Graham to preach at the Good Friday 2003 prayer service held in the Pentagon. I would add that he participated in the Holy Service just as the American invasion of an Islamic country was at its peak.

Gumbel reports that Graham’s invitation insulted many moderate Christians and members of other faiths working at the Pentagon. Ibrahim Hooper, spokesman for the Council on American-Islamic Relations, said the president’s invitation sent “entirely the wrong message to the Muslim and Arab world…”

“This kind of incident,” Hooper added, “ can undo any kind of bridges built by a hundred public affairs officers at the Pentagon.”

Thus, it seems we “have” a new crusade in Mesopotamia, as Nostradamus defined it in Century 3, Quatrain 61.

Lines 1 through 3 point to the Gulf War of 1991 repeating itself in early 2003:

The great host and sect of the crusaders,
Will be massed in Mesopotamia:
Of the nearby river the fast company…

Fast armored armadas of the Mesopotamian encirclement of Republican Guard divisions in 1991 become leaner and meaner armored brigades of the U.S. blitzkrieg of 2003. They plunge across the Mesopotamian delta heading north, northwest for Baghdad alongside the western bank of the Euphrates (“nearby river”).

At the date of this writing a “great host” is indeed “amassed in Mesopotamia.” At the end of the war there were close to 200,000 soldiers, the vast majority being of the Christian faith (“crusaders”) on the ground in Mesopotamia. Since 1 May the Bush administration scaled down the number of troops to 145,000. An escalation of guerilla warfare sets the stage for history to repeat itself. Another US president from Texas is issuing secret orders for a buildup of more troops for what could be America’s second Vietnam quagmire.

Perhaps the repetition of history is closer than I’ve stated it. When US troops crossed the Euphrates River on their final push for Baghdad, they passed into the fertile and marshy planes of the Tigris and Euphrates watershed.

“Gosh!” remarked one reporter on camera from CNN riding on top of an armored personel carrier through yellowish green rice fields and palm groves, “It looks just like we’re driving right back into Vietnam!”

Is he right?

Let us review the prophecy again:

The great host and sect of the crusaders,
Will be massed in Mesopotamia [modern day Iraq]:
Of the nearby river the fast company,
That such law will hold for the enemy.

The final line seen in the light of the 2003 invasion, becomes more ominous for America. Indeed, a clearer picture arises of just what Nostradamus might intend for the “law” that will “hold for the enemy.” Saddam’s dictatorial “law” survived the Gulf War of 1991 only to be replaced by a new tyranny–the “Sharia” law of Shiite fundamentalism.

The law of the Sharia will hold Iraq because the American president’s preemptive war and occupation is the catalyst. A force-fed Iraqi puppet democracy will radicalize the country. The guerrilla insurrection will grow in strength long after the US captures or kills Saddam. This insurrection may be the match setting the fires of a 27-year war foreseen by Nostradamus in his famous “Mabus” and “Third Antichrist” prophecies.
