I will be on Coast to Coast AM, this Monday (23 January, at 11 pm (Pacific) for a three-hour prophecy marathon with George Noory as host. We will go over many predictions in my new e-Book concerning this important year 2012 and how it will dramatically impact the climate in politics as well as weather, the economy, seismic activity, and will rock the world of seven billion people and counting.

It is an interesting coincidence that this Sunday History Channel crowded the airwaves with three documentaries in which I figure prominently as a guest. The most important of these is Nostradamus: 2012. In it, you will see a crowd of Twenty-Twelver experts make their pitch that Nostradamus foresaw the winter solstice of 2012, purportedly marking the end of a great cycle of civilization as plotted by pre-Columbian astronomers of the ancient Central American Mayan civilization.

You will see me often talking about Nostradamus in the show, but you will not see me endorse the other expert views that 12-21-12, as plotted by the most accurate calendar ever calculated without computers, marks the end of the world or the end of the world as we have known it and Nostradamus agreed with this finding.

You will hear the talking heads around me hype the “Lost Book of Nostradamus” as grounds for tying Nostradamus to 2012, using as evidence the book’s nebulous watercolor illustrations pointing with the constellation Sagittarius’ bow and arrow at a coal sack in space that marks the galactic center. We are led to imagine that Nostradamus has painted this point and the lineup that will happen between the Sun and Earth with the center of the Milky Way Galaxy just like what was foreseen to happen this coming winter solstice by the Maya.

One thing I aim to do with my prophecies for 2012 e-book is to dispel this nonsense. For one thing, Nostradamus could not draw and many of the watercolors are poorly aped copies of anti-papal, Cathar mystical drawings composed centuries before Nostradamus was born. The book in question is not only “lost” it is falsely attributed to Nostradamus.

In addition, the Mayan “galactic alignment” has already happened, making 2012 not the “end all” year, but certainly another significant stepping stone in times beyond end time on the path of History’s quickening pace.

That exact alignment took place 13 years ago! The Maya may have been good without computers but modern science and calculations made at Jet Propulsion Laboratory have shown the exact galactic line up took place sometime between the winter solstices of 1998 and 1999!

Nostradamus DID NOT write the Lost Book of Nostradamus or draw its altogether vague prophetic watercolors.

Nostradamus NEVER mentioned the year 2012!

What Nostradamus DID write was his prediction that 1999 was the pivotal year when history would begin its apocalyptic inclination towards a new cycle of centuries, a new age.

To be fair, Mayan prophecy of end times told rightly or wrongly has achieved a critical mass of popular attention and for better or worse my new book of prophecies will chronicle that 2012 has become an end time of sorts, because we have imposed significant deadlines upon it.

US President Barack Obama faces a political doomsday. The US government stagnates in a critical mass of political gridlock too. Time is running out in Washington DC to get America’s fiscal house in order before a deficit bomb blows.

US Congress may let the clock run out on protection agencies, health and labor laws shielding citizens from dirty water, food, air. As many as 191 nations across the world wait for 2012 to end with pollution-bated breath. Legally binding targets set by the Kyoto Protocol in 1997 to reduce climate emissions that contribute to global warming will run out.

Gabriel’s Horn may blow, taking down European banks that can no longer postpone the inevitable: to either sustain or shed bankrupt member countries of the Euro Monetary Union. End times are coming to the US-Pakistani alliance with significant consequences for the US-NATO occupation of Afghanistan.

NeoCons are also blowing their horns very hard and loud from the halls of Washington to Jerusalem to propagate a war with Iran over its purported nuclear weapons program, just like they successfully NeoConned America in 2002 to invade and occupy Iraq with little actionable evidence.

A string of critical mass actions make 2012 the year when corporate push comes to citizen shove on the streets of the world. The Arab Spring of 2011 will give birth to an “American Spring” in 2012.

My Oracle in this new e-Book takes you on a journey through the days of this pivotal year, the first real “Oh Shit!” year of the 21st century. It will help you anticipate and understand what is really going down in current events in a year when the mollifying media forces of corporate interests try hard to steer your intelligence away from our quickening history like never before.

2012 is not a year of galactic alignment. It is a year of a great convergence, a collision between the old humanity and it status quo, its dogmas and fossilized traditions of religious and political control pitted against the rise of a new humanity that sees change as an imperative to survive and evolve a better world out of the coming planetary upheaval.

The forces of the past-oriented humanity – the humanity that does not wish to be purified – would like to distract you from responding positively and proactively to the gathering clouds of global warming and general weirdness making undeniable the reality that times now are definitely not normal and you need to do something about making real changes beyond belief.

The source of this mass-hypnotic campaign is an old aristocracy in new clothes, masquerading under new titles. They are the corporate order. They aim to disempower people from bringing about economic and ecological reforms that go against unbridled profit through uncontrolled, unregulated exploitation of Earth’s resources and people.

An unprecedented number of people around the world are now aware of the dangers of global warming, overpopulation, and the latter’s consequence of unsustainable food and water use. Today, hundreds of millions of people are practicing meditation, more than the sum total of all those who meditated in the last 5,000 years. Through such efforts in self-observation, people across the world are becoming aware they must break out of conditioned patterns and sever their ties with those fossilized traditions of the past that will bring on the coming catastrophes.

Happy Chinese New Year of the Dragon to you all, both long-time and new readers of this web site. There is quite a flood of new readers pouring in because of my scheduled appearances on Coast to Coast AM with George Noory on Monday night and the Kevin Smith Show on Wednesday evening. I thought it would be a good time to renew for veteran readers and introduce to all you new readers a brief manifesto of what HogueProphecy.com is all about.

Prophecy is an echo of actions engaged in the only time we known in which we are empowered to affect a change in destiny: the eternity of the present – this atomic moment. This little flash of Present is the silent explosion that lights the soul, every moment, dying and being reborn. From awareness of this profound and immediate moment come insights, intelligence and all creative solutions to human and global problems.

I am a scholar and purveyor of prophecy who is anti-prophetic. My interest is in taking you through the potentials of the future to help make you better understand the realities of the present day, which these potentials echo. If those gifted with future sight share with us prophecy that reverberates a dissonance, they are only telling us to change our “tune” in the present to something more harmonious.

Only a humanity that brings its full life force and energy into the present moment can change the dire dissonance of the future reverbing back to us in the potential realm of tomorrow.

Hogueprophecy.com provides a matrix of information where current events and potential converge for examination and understanding. As its creator, I bring to this website not only the scholarship and knowledge of prophets and their techniques from around the world, from all recorded times, I also bring the subjective experience of the prophet from direct experience. One cannot know love by simply studying it empirically. Prophecy, like love, is intimate, subjective – experiential. I strive to find a middle way as a correspondent reporting on the future from a place of meditative awareness poised between intellectual scholarship and existential practice of prophecy.

The idiom I choose to present these findings is in articles posted here at Hogueprophecy once or twice a week, if possible, numbering on average around 150,000 words and 72 to 106 articles each year.

Nostradamus.

I augment a prodigious output of free information composing and posting e-Books you can download that delve far deeper into prophetic themes. Following the tradition of the 16th-century French seer Nostradamus, these books include releasing an almanac of prophecies for each year and if I can, one other book each year enlarging on an important theme.

I would like to either refresh my current – or introduce to my newest readers – links to pages presenting an overview of three of these prophetic e-books that have only gained more importance and documented accuracy with the passing of time.

1. Nostradamus: The War with Iran

Will there be a military crisis when the navies of the United States and Iran play chicken in the most narrow and crowded oil shipping lanes of the world in 2012?

Nostradamus’ visions are filled with descriptions of fleets being melted and sunk in the “Arabian Gulf” (the name people of his time gave to what we call the oil rich hotbed of the Persian Gulf). He describes the fate of those along the northern coast of the Strait of Hormuz, named outright in his prophecies written over 450 years ago, from where Iranian vessels are based.

One fleet foundering in the Arabian Gulf is that of the “true serpent”. “The Trident” melts the other. Is he trying to describe the “smooth and alien shape” of what he calls in his prophecies an “iron fish” – a future US Trident submarine? Or, is he cryptically describing a trident symbol hidden in the abstract shape of a red rose of the martyr centered in the white stripe of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary tricolor national flag?

Could the “true serpent” be a 16th-century man’s attempt to explain the US Navy Jack, the flag flown by the US Fifth Fleet on station patrolling the Persian Gulf that displays a rattlesnake over a field of thirteen white and red stripes, under which is written the American Revolutionary motto “Don’t Tread on Me”?

I collected all of Nostradamus’ references to a future war with Iran in early 2007. Given the rising tensions and brinkmanship of US and Iranian navies in the Strait of Hormuz, it might be good to re-examine my interpretations especially as Nostradamus clearly dates the window for a war in those waters which, if it happens will directly impact your lives. 2. Nostradamus and the Antichrist: Code Named MABUS

I wrote an e-Book in the spring and summer of 2008 that even now, as I read it again, the message reads as if it were written yesterday. I would not update anything. It describes the most burning controversy in the study of Nostradamus.

Who is the third and final Antichrist he foresaw?

Is he alive among us today?

Nostradamus is unique among prophets foreseeing not one but three Antichrists. He gives them cryptic names. The first may have been Napoleon King (Napaulon Roy). The second (Hister), Adolf Hitler.

The third he code names Mabus. Using Nostradamus’ laws of anagram word play, there are a number of modern leaders and jihad terrorists from the Middle East as well as their chief adversaries – two modern American presidents – whose names can be decoded from Mabus. Whether they are intended or not by Nostradamus, the four principle candidates are Saddam Hussein, G.W. Bush, Osama bin Laden, and the current US president, Barack Obama. The latter even has a member of his cabinet who is named “Mabus”. Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus to be exact, who is quite busy with a naval standoff with Iran in the Persian Gulf.

3. The Last Pope and the Last Pope Revisited

Pope Benedict XVI is aging. He is in his mid-80s and was seen rolled into Christmas Midnight Mass held at 10 pm because of his age. There have been rumors that he might step down as Vicar of Christ for over 1 billion Catholic believers, though I doubt he will relinquish the throne of St. Peter. What is a mathematic certainty is the days of Benedict XVI are numbered. With his passing, we enter the most important period in Catholic Prophecy. We will witness a new pope ordained who the Medieval Irish prophet, St. Malachy foretold will be the last pope before Judgment Day.

It is said that St. Malachy in 1148 listed 111 successors to the throne of St. Peter, naming each with a cryptic Latin motto. For instance Pope Benedict’s predecessor, John Paul II, is called De labore solis (from the Sun’s Eclipse). John Paul was born in 1920 on a solar eclipse and interred in his tomb under St. Peter’s Basilica in 2005 on the day of a solar eclipse.

Pope Benedict was foreseen as De gloria olivae (from the Glory of the Olive). Catholic monks of the Benedictine order had anticipated a pope from their ranks would rule during the times of the Apostasy (crisis of faith) for the Catholic Church – this Christian sect’s version of the Tribulation before the Apocalypse. Though Cardinal Ratzinger took on the name of St. Benedict as pope, he is not actually from that holy order; however, there is a sect of Benedictines charged with preparing the world for the apocalypse as foretold by Jesus Christ on the Mount of Olives. They are known as the Olivetans (Olivae). Thus it is believed that the reign of Pope Benedict marks the beginning of the tribulations of the Church. One need only recognize the great sexual abuse scandal rocking Benedict’s Church these days and wonder if it is a sign of this. Especially when evidence mounts that Benedict before he was crowned successor to Pope John Paul was actively engaged in suppressing evidence of priests sexually abusing young boys around the world.

Benedict’s name and destiny is hidden in the 111th motto of St. Malachy. After him comes the Last Pope, mysteriously named after the first Bishop of Rome, Petrus Romanus (Peter of Rome). His name appears in St. Malachy’s coda to his prophecies – a vision that may be only months or a few years away:

During the last persecution of the Holy Roman Church, there shall sit Peter of Rome, who shall feed the sheep amidst many tribulations, and when these have passed, the City of the Seven Hills [Rome] shall be utterly destroyed, and the awful Judge will judge the people.

“Oh God! I’m coming!”

And heaven came to earth.

Before the afterglow of naughty bits-full blissful sex gave birth to the religious quest, Adam and Eve also discovered that copulating makes one hungry. In the after-f*ck comes feast.

There is no more important catalyst for a breakdown or a breakthrough for civilization than how we manage the future of food. This is the seventh month of the year 2011, when expected to be born is the seven billionth child. He or she will be hungry, demanding of the future a handout of dream it will not fulfill. He or she will grow up pretty damned angry if dreamy entitlement of Garden of Eden dreams are not delivered, if Satan’s apple is already wormy to the cruddy core before tempted. Seven billion people and counting will chase after the car of success. They will all “catch it”, sometime in the 2020s, because the car had ran out of gas.

Food is fuel for nourishing thoughts that spark plug flash-forward the engine of enterprise, genius, golden ages. Our future advances on what we eat.

Back on 22 September 2009, Ingrid Weithers-Barati of Raw Epicurean.net  interviewed me about the future of food, vegan and vegetarianism, my encounter with Timothy Leary and the recipes of Nostradamus. Many of you may not be aware that Nostradamus was not as obsessed with the future as we think he was. He had many passions to which far more time and years were dedicated, such as being a 16th-century gourmet. He shared his recipes for meals, medicines and fruit preservatives in highly popular books standing for their own part as important examples of French 16th-century literature, beyond those works of prophecy most of us dispute or defend about the future of the world. Nostradamus’ predictions often dwell on the dangers of a future humanity that fails, two out of every three people, taken down by pestilences and most of all by famine. This is a warning to change and not a fate to which we must submit.

But first, let’s eat some future food for thought:

In this interview, John Hogue shares with us how he became a “rogue” prophecy scholar, his mentors, his thoughts on a plant-based diet, other prophets, like Nostradamus’ culinary passion, John’s other interests, and much more.

Ingrid Weithers-Barati: Tell us a bit about your background What inspired you to become the “rogue” prophecy scholar you are today?

John Hogue: Since being a young boy, I have been an old man growing younger as the body ages. Back then I had a fascination with current events and the repetition of history like a doctor is fascinated with pathology. I wanted to understand “why” history kept repeating itself, and I had an instinctive skepticism of what teachers and authorities taught, because if they really knew what they were talking about, why has humanity not learned history’s lessons. Do we repeat mistakes because we do not learn from history, or, do those who teach us teach the wrong conclusions about history’s lessons? (A very serious young boy, there.)

Anyway, when it started getting too serious I fell into an existential crisis by the time I was in my 20s. So, I began searching for spiritual and religious answers, especially those less orthodox or more Eastern than those I was indoctrinated to follow as a being labeled “Western Caucasian American” stamped on the bum side of my soul. In the process of studying religious paths, I became aware of the prophetic scriptures of the world. It seemed “future history” was just as plagued as the past with patterns of conditioned habits. The future seemed just as repetitively tragic as the past. So, as I embarked since 1980 on the path of meditation on the side was this continued evolution of my study of what made people predictable in the past and predictable in the future.

My work is all about understanding the engine of conditioning each new generation to be as silly and miserable as the past, no matter what the color or design of the cultural or religious blinders put upon the inner eye of their souls as “truth.”

Thus, my iconoclastic experiential slant on prophecy is perhaps unique among prophecy scholars. That is why I am known as a “Rogue Scholar”.

Over the past 30 years, I must have studied enough on my own to become a Rhodes Scholar but I attained no degrees, short of the minimum requirement — a high school diploma — in 1974. More than this degree in society’s de-education of my intelligence was too much to bear. The price for a further dulling of intelligence required I assume deeper degrees of BS, BMs, and ‘piled high and deep’ PhDs of borrowed knowledge.

IWB: Who is/are/were your mentors[s]?

JH: Existence is first and foremost the mentor of us all. It is life itself. There were many others and still many more coming. Ray Bradbury taught me how to write. My meditation teacher, Osho, still teaches me before and beyond the grave to be aware of the witnessing consciousness that abides all changes in the body-mind and to celebrate living as a Zorba the Buddha in the marketplace of a constantly changing and impermanent world we all share. He taught me to be a witness of these things, and more: To be aware of that which is beyond what consciousness reflects. For that I cannot limit my answer in mere words. At a point one must stop talking about H2O and jump into the water. Meditation techniques are a way to prepare for real meditation. Those who want to know more than what I’ve said here must come and meditate with me.

IWB: When did you become a vegetarian, and what motivated you to do so?

JH: I was 25 years old. I was motivated by practicality, not anything holy-baloney “spiritual.” I discovered after a first quarter century of living in this body that it didn’t like animal flesh of any kind. Once I stopped eating it I became a hale and hearty high-energy fellow ever since.

IWB: What are your thoughts on consuming a plant-based diet and the role it plays on the health of our environment?

JH: First off, a word about dietary spiritual conceits. From my experience, vegetarianism does not make you more spiritually evolved. Case in point, Adolf Hitler tried all his life to be a vegetarian while Jesus Christ ate meat.

There are many people, born of Western bodies, who try to claim some spiritual attainment by eating Vegan or Veg. at the cost of making themselves less energetic, unhealthy and mentally dull. I will tell you right now, as a Vegan now for four years, who eats eggs, if at any moment my body impresses upon me the need to eat fish, chicken, lamb, or beef I will do it without hesitation or any spiritual guilt. What is good for Gurdjieff or Muhammad, or all the Sufi mystics, many of the Zen masters, or even poor ole Jesus left hanging around as some lamb sacrifice of God is good for me too.

Now, with that said, my own experience agrees with my own teacher, Osho. About six months after I quit eating meat, fish or chicken I felt a glugginess leave my bodily and nervous system. I felt a lighter quality in my body-mind. I did feel less gross, more sensitive. Moreover, in my case I got physically stronger. I mean, if big 800-pound, muscle bound, chest thumping gorillas can eat bunny-fare and be that big and strong that means there are some animal and human animal people that have bodies like those veggorillas. I’m one of those plant-gorging apes for sure, for now.

Certainly adopting a vegetarian, even vegan, lifestyle lowers my carbon footprint, but let that not prevent people from eating a modest meat diet from time to time if their body needs it. We can still vastly reduce the wasteful farming and green house gas flatulating herds of livestock to help Mother Earth if people simply approach their eating habits in a balanced and intelligent way. Most affluent people simply eat too much, including those who graze like rabbits as proud veggie folk.

IWB: How has vegetarianism contributed to your physical, mental, and spiritual well-being?

JH: I’m not a vegetarian anymore. I am now a Vegan who eats two eggs a day. (Thank you, Chickens of the world!) As I said answering your last question, I definitely grew stronger and less slickly and prone to immune weakness after becoming a veggie guy. The question is, was this improvement solely from becoming a Vegetarian at 25?

It is hard to know because at 25 I also went to India, became initiated as a swami in the Neo-Sannyasin “non-tradition” of Osho. Before this, I started meditating. Therefore, since I like what chickens make, we have a chicken-or-the-egg Zen koan here. Did the diet make me a meditator, or did the meditation make me a vegetarian?

There have been great mystics and meditators that have not been vegetarians, so one must wonder? Also, psychosomatic issues might equally have caused the chronic problems I had with my upper and lower GI until I stopped eating meat. Osho’s active meditation techniques and encounter groups put me on the fast track of letting go 25 years of repressed emotions, fears and judgments. We hold things in our bodies.

Osho’s says, “start with the body” in meditation. It sure worked for me. Does therefore my vegetarianism-cum-veganism become a happy extra to this cleansing? Did my psychosomatic bouts of intestinal blockage end because I stopped eating hamburgers? On the other hand, was it the rebirthing session that got me in contact with the life in Napoleon’s army in 1812, at the Battle of Borodino? I received an artillery shell splinter in the gut while on my horse directing a corps of French cavalry into a ravine for cover from cannon in a large Russian breastwork that was rolling my troupers and their horses over like bowling pins for two hours. When wounded in the gut, I calmed my horse. Everyone around me watched as I yelled beau feu! (good shot!) and dropped dead.

Reincarnation studies show that people seem to carry health issues related to traumas in past lives. Once I saw how I died on the battlefield, I never had intestinal “infortitude” ever since (I’m in my 54th year in this body. Update that to 56th year at the time of posting this blog). Was it the veggie diet or was it breaking the unconscious psychosomatic connection a past life bowel injury that killed?

IWB: Would you day eating this way contributes greatly to your meditation practice and your ability to foretell future events? 

JH: I heard Osho say that vegetarianism makes one on the path more escthetic, less gross and dense. My life path experiences would tend to agree with him; however, if at some point this body should need animal products beyond chicken eggs we will put that theory to the test.

I am very surprised how good I feel after I stopped eating dairy products. I was a major cheese eater as a vegetarian, by the way. I do not see myself going back to cheese or meat in the foreseeable future, but one must listen to the body, as it always needs new things. Osho has a meditation for “talking to the body” which I find very helpful

IWB: Are there any particular types of food, plant-based or otherwise, that can impede your abilities?

JH: Weed. Alcohol. “Silly”-sybens perhaps, although every time in my youth when I was lining up to try the latter I would practice a week of cleansing my body for the best initiatory event. My friends, though, could not wait and consumed them before the week was out.

It all depends. These vegetarian “foods” can aid one, loosen one up, give one a glimpse but a glimpse does not a lifetime of bliss or augury make. For that you can’t knock it back, toke or mushroom your self 24/7 over seventy years like Timothy Leary, who I saw a few months before he died, sitting to the side of the book store area of a Seattle Whole Life Expo in the 1990s, to which I was invited to lecture.

My eyes were pulled to regard this spent and wrinkled candy wrapper of a man, shrunk in his chair. I did not even recognize him at first. It was a visceral moment. Our eyes met. Mine must have conveyed wordlessly the feeling of concern for and a marveling at how this stranger looked physically and spiritually spent. This impression registered in reflection in his eyes and he cowered. Then it dawned in a flash who it was I had regarded in the gap of no-thought was Timothy Leary.

I turned away, embarrassed to have stared, but not sorry to have felt a truth conveyed innocently through me, to him.

Drugs had destroyed Timothy Leary in the name of artificial enlightenment.

You have to find the inner high free of all chains or ticklers for the body-mind.

I mean, what inebriate was available to my consciousness before I was born? What will be available to imbibe when this body-mind imbiber is ash?

The fundamental question is, “who” is having the high? Who is not having a high?

Any dependence on something through the body for expanded consciousness is a path to addiction. There are far more subtle and profound addictions from which we all suffer. For instance, the identification with body-mind and emotions that leads us repeatedly into a cycle of lives lived in ego’s Misery-field.

Food for thought? Or, is the answer something untouched by any food or thought?

Today’s article is a tale of two poets: one a candidate for Antichrist, the other a 16th-century seer who may have foreseen an Antichrist’s terminal fate four-and-a-half centuries before it happened.

Peter Bergen, the last Western journalist to interview Usama (incorrectly pronounce Osama) bin Laden wrote in his recent Time Magazine article The End of bin Laden, that the George Washington of Wahhabi Islamic extremism, the founder of the al-Qaeda (the base) terrorist organization, fancied himself a poet.

He wrote a death wish in Arabic verse, which translates: “Let my grave be an eagle’s belly, its resting place in the sky’s atmosphere amongst perched eagles.”

Bergen rightfully called Usama bin Laden’s verses morbid. I too have read many of them. Bin Laden’s poetic metaphors take him down paths of myth and fantasy he does not anticipate too well.

Why be in an eagle’s belly? Why not desire in verse to the liberated eagle’s spirit, flying on footless pathways on air, soaring free in limitless sky?

Why desire to be eaten like prey? You then have given poetic power to the eagle that devours you. You are then just lunch.

What usually sits in eagles bellies in high aeries, digested and made effluent falling from high twig nests are a belly grave legacy: the waste products of devoured fish, rabbits and rats.

Usama bin Laden, I think the eagle had a near midnight snack of “rat” the day US Navy Seals in stealth helicopters raided your compound in Abbottabad on May Day (Pacific Time). These Americans put one well-aimed bullet through your morbidly poetic heart and one in your metaphor-muddled head. It is strange you wrote of resting in the belly of an eagle, because elite troops of the country you had attacked on 9/11 hail from a nation represented by the animal totem of a Bald Eagle.

Was Usama an accidental prophet in his verse?

A poet far less accidental in his verses of prophecy and no less morbid than bin Laden, was Michel de Nostredame, who wrote under the Latinized surname Nostradamus.

Those verses comprising his history of the future span the years 1555 to 3797 and beyond. Some focus on three Antichrists. The first is code named Napaulon Roy (King Napoleon). The second is Hister (Adolf Hitler). (Read more about these by clicking on Antichrist.)

Prophecies about a third and final Antichrist are definitely trying to find anchor in the present ever since his famous “1999″ prophecy (10 Q72) may have cunningly hid the date of dreadful attacks of one of four chief candidates for the Antichrist in our times, Usama bin Laden.

L’an mil neuf cens nonante neuf sept mois,
Du ciel viendra vn grand Roy d’effrayeur.
Resusciter le grand Roy d’Angolmois.
Auant apres Mars regner par bon heur.

In the year 1999, September month,
From the sky will come a great King of terror.
He will bring back Genghis Khan.
Before and after Mars rules happily.

In the year 1999, month seven
From the sky will come a great King of terror.
The King of the Mongols he will awaken
Mars rules happily before and after.

It is easy for non-French readers who have only read Nostradamus in translations to overlook the sing-songy, A-B-A-B, cadence of his quatrain poetry. Fortunately, this famous verse is relatively easy to convert into English preserving the meaning with the rhyme, not so true of many other quatrains, though.

Nostradamus clearly spells out a date for our times so it is most important. Far more important than 2012, a date he never mentions. (Sorry all you twenty-twelver authors who have made an industry trying to sacrifice the prophetic heart of Nostradamus by spreading him over the temple altar of your Mayan Calendar flights of imagination.) Nostradamus describes in this verse a history shaking act of a great terrorist coming out of the sky during the time China, becomes a superpower. They resurrect the memory of Genghis Khan.

The fact of the matter is, during the 1990s, the greatest king of the Mongol hordes who conquered China had be “rehabilitated” in Chinese schools by the Communist government as a good totalitarian role model. This fact is used to frame the time of this prophecy when Mars (god of war) rules happily before and after the terrorist event.

The dating in the first line has layers of meaning. The initial one being literal for the great earthquakes following those lands cast in the Moon’s shadow mentioned in detail elsewhere in Nostradamus verses in a solar eclipse. He says it takes place just prior to the great cycle of the centuries being renewed (the year 2000-2001). The path of the Moon’s shadow he described did indeed pass over Flanders, as well as Greece, Turkey and India during the eclipse of 11 August 1999. (Note the 9s and 11s). After which great earthquakes did rock Greece, and especially Turkey seven days after the eclipse in the city of Izmit, just outside of Istanbul, killing an estimated 45,000 leaving 600,000 homeless.

The important eclipse and date of the quakes in Greece and Turkey are also alluded to in the first line. Follow Nostradamus’ classical allusions and you can unlock his secrets. He plays with a double entendre on sept mois. It means the seventh month (July). It also literally stands for Septembre or the old seventh month September before Roman dictator Julius Caesar and Emperor Augustus Caesar created new months named after them: July and August. In this quatrain Nostradamus implies both July and September. The old and new seventh months in the calendar bracket the solar eclipse in August 1999 before the great millennium’s turning that so interested him as a shift in human destiny far more significant that 2012.

There is a third meaning hidden in line one. It dates the violent, civilization-shaking action of a potential antichrist happening around what Nostradamus sometimes calls in other verses the renewing of the “great motor of the centuries”. This shift of the second Christian millennium to the third is incorrectly identified by most of us as the year 2000. Nostradamus was aware as many astrologers would be aware that 31 December 2000 is the last day of the old millennium. The first of January 2001 launches the new.

In Year One of the new millennium, the “great King of terror” descends from the skies in jets hijacked by his minions. They plunge like missiles into the twin towers, or the “hollow mountains” of “the great new city”, New York City, which Nostradamus famously described in detail in Century 6 Quatrain 97and Century 10 Quatrain 49. Veteran HogueProphecy readers will be aware of this but for all the hundreds of thousands of new readers visiting Hogueprophecy.com since Usama bin Laden was killed, Nostradamus not only used anagrams to hide names of future people in history, he also may have scrambled numbers in codes.

Thus, 1999 seventh — or September — month is a code dating Usama bin Laden’s attack. Replace the one with a nine. Replace the three nines with three ones and you get 9-11-1 September month.

In my book Nostradamus and the Antichrist, Code Named: Mabus, I show how applying Nostradamus’ rules of anagramming can see the names of four historic figures waging the so-called War on Terror that Usama bin Laden’s Pearl Harbor style attack started in 2001 decoded out of the anagram Mabus. They are:

1.) Usama (Maaus=Ma(b)us) bin Laden, if you replace one redundant letter a with the one letter missing in the puzzle (b), you get Mabus.

2.) g.w. Bush, if you follow the rule of reversing and turning letters upside down, g and w then make m and a, which equals Mabus(h). Drop the redundant h and you get Mabus.

3.) Apply the law of reverse-mirror imaging and Mabus=subam=sudam gets you the correct Arabic phonetic pronounciation of Saddam (suh-daam) Hussein.

4.) Apply the correct pronunciation of Obama (oubama or ubama) and then mix the spelling: ubama=maabu. Replace the redundant letter a with the missing s, and you get Mabus.

Depending on which side of this war on terror you pin your allegiance, either Bush and Obama are good leaders fighting the evil Saddam and Usama, or vice versa. What is truly remarkable and unique in Nostradamus prophecy is the potential confusion possible in the mind of the 16th-century seer peering into the dark potentials of centuries yet formed trying to isolate protagonists with similar names: Obama fighting Osama, for instance.

I mean, how many times have you, my readers, caught yourself in conversation saying Obama when you meant Osama or made the gaff the other way around? Even love-Obama blinded comedian Bill Maher on HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher accidentally on purpose last Friday made the slip calling Osama Obama on live TV.

Imagine if you were not mesmerized by a 21st-century TV but under the spell of some 16th-century magical litany running in your nutmeg buzzed head in the middle of the night as you sit yourself in a white hooded robe, barefoot, on a brass tripod over a boiling bowl of steaming sulfuric waters. You are not talking at the TV this time but you are having a paranormal conversation, either with your own psychotic secret self, or a disincarnated “messenger” with his hair on fire, you just conjured out of the ethers with your laurel wand.

You blurt out in 16th-century French:

“Qu’avez-vous dit, Monsieur de l’ange de feu ? Obama ? Ou estoit cela Osama est le Troisieme Antechrist ?”

Translation: “What did you say, Master Angle of Fire? Obama? Or did you say Osama is the Third Antichrist?”

I am not at all certain Nostradamus could easily separate hero from antichrist in his prophetic verses about who Mabus is, but the prophetic consequences of the Antichrist’s sudden and violent death, as explained in 2 Q62 and 8 Q77, potentially stoke apocalyptic fires in the Arab-Muslim world.

We look at these in literal English translation:

Mabus will soon die, then will come,
A horrible undoing of people and animals,
At once one will see vengeance,
One hundred powers, thirst, famine, when the comet will pass.

8 Q77
The Third Antichrist very soon annihilated,
Twenty-seven years his bloody war will last.
The heretics [are] dead, captives exiled,
Blood-soaked human bodies, and a reddened, icy hail covering the earth.

In brief, Nostradamus uses similar narratives to link a longer vision in several quatrains consciously scattered out of sequence to protect future evil ones from recognizing themselves, changing plans and winning wars they should have lost as Nostradamus foretold. Line one in both quatrains above links them together because of similar language. Thus Mabus and the Third Antichrist are one, soon dying or very soon annihilated. The death either undoes the world of people and animals, or he is killed at a time when people have disrupted the natural balance of nature (animals); in other words, our climate changing times caused by human air pollution. Our times will experience the greatest mass extinction of animals since the death of the dinosaurs, if the current rate of natural land and ocean habitat destruction continues for a century.

Death of Mabus brings vengeance from his followers so terrible that 100 nations belligerently respond. Again, the mention of thirst and famine dates this event at a time when humanity has a growing potable water and food sustainability crisis ongoing.

The upheaval in the Arab world right now was directly triggered by higher food prices caused by more hungry mouths to feed in the year that will see the birth of the seven billionth child. Potable water as well is becoming the ever more rare and precious new gold — blue gold. Wars will be smoldering soon over water rights. Wars in the times of the Antichrist.

Mabus dies at the sighting of a comet. Does Nostradamus mean a great comet like Comet McNaught, the one appearing to the naked eye the night before Saddam Hussein was hanged? In two weeks time it became the brightest comet in 60 years.

Is it Comet Elenin, currently approaching the Sun at the time of Usama bin Laden’s takedown?

Elenin is very small and will be hardly visible at all. Perhaps its passing is more significant because of its yet unknown ability to trigger massive natural disasters around the time of the death of the Third Antichrist?

Amateur astronomers using NASA’s website have found that the Jet Propulsion Laboratory Small Body Database Browser has predicted the three most recent 7.0+ magnitude earthquakes with striking accuracy each time the small, nondescript Comet Elenin has lined up with the Sun and Earth upon its approach. Earth on first line up on 27 February 2010 experienced a magnitude 8.8 temblor hitting the Chilean coast sending a tsunami across the Pacific.

On the second line up on 4 September 2010, a 7.2 quake hit Christchurch New Zealand.

On a third line up on 11 March 2011, a 9.0 quake shook Japan sending a devastating tsunami into the northeastern coast of Honshu Island and other strong reverberant waves across the Pacific Ocean.

The JPL Small Body Database Browser calculates two more alignments of the Sun, Earth and Elenin in 2011 will happen on 26 September and 23 November.

Consequences stemming from the death of Mabus as the Antichrist may result in a 27-year war, though in his Epistle to Henry II Nostradamus says the war is 25 years long. They could be two different time lines, the 27-years first followed by a 25-year period. That is, if Nostradamus intended Saddam Hussein to be Mabus.

Nostradamus foresaw: 27 years his bloody war would last…

If you count the years from the time Saddam became Iraq’s dictator to his death by hanging you are describing a period of perpetual warfare, inside and outside of Iraq’s borders. It climaxed in the invasion and occupation of Iraq by US forces. These were caught in the bloody crossfire of yet another civil war between Iraqi Shia and Sunnis at the time of Saddam Hussein’s hanging, 27 years after he became dictator of Iraq.

Facts do parallel 8 Q77′s third line. Many heretics of true Islam are dead, banished and scattered. The final lines also imply the scattering of al-Qaeda, its many operatives and leaders now wasting away far from their homes in prisons, such as that in USA held Guantanamo, Cuba.

As stated earlier, Nostradamus may have mistaken two or more candidates as one Antichrist. Perhaps the “vengeance” mentioned in 2 Q62 – a possible retaliation to Saddam’s death and/or that of Usama bin Laden — is developed further in the second verse (8 Q77). The red rains might imply a use of chemical, biological or radiological weapons of mass destruction that triggers a further 25 years of conflict set in motion by a terrible act of retaliatory vengeance for the death of the Third Antichrist.

In my next report on new Nostradamus revelations after the death of Usama bin Laden, I will show how the milestone event of Usama bin Laden’s annihilation, his burial at sea, the Operation name of the Navy Seals attack on his compound all offer fresh insights into Nostradamus’ Antichrist prophecies. The new evidence ties the death of bin Laden to that of Libyan dictator, Muhammar Gaddafi, happening any time now but no later than 2013.

The 25-year war of the Antichrist may actually be caused by another kind of retaliatory revenge not initially anticipated even today by al-Qaeda. It may come out of Libya, infect and radicalize the Arab Revolution, dragging Russia and America into a terrible destruction of people and animals through a thermonuclear war no one but a few of history’s greatest seers, have anticipated.

Mother Nature’s World War Heats up

There are just too many things happening these days to focus solely on one subject per article. So I will periodically insert these new “PS Prophecies” segments at the end of articles.

A few words today about oncoming natural disasters. Before bin Laden was killed, the prophetic focus was on historic tornadic devastation as the North American winter of epic blizzards and historic storms transformed into the globally warmed spring of super-tornado attacks. The late April 2011 tornado outbreak in the US southern states that killed over 300 made me muse recently on Coast to Coast AM (link to you archived show page) that major disasters, politically, economically and especially seismic and climate-oriented seem to be slamming the human civilization once a month in 2011. I said for the first time and for the record on that radio show broadcast across North America that I may have to call the year 2011, The Year of 12 Catastrophes. For instance:

Yesterday was the ninth anniversary of the start of the US war in Afghanistan. It was a SAD day. That is, it was a day when CIA “teams” otherwise called members of the Special Activities Division (SAD) were airlifted and air dropped with units of the US Army 5th Special Forces Group to begin combat operations. With the ensuing years in my mind of ever more farcical strategic entanglements in a land noted for destroying empires (the Soviets being the last victim), my thoughts on this anniversary stray towards Nostradamus’ third and final antichrist, code named Mabus, and a war that has in my opinion become a strategic comic tragedy.

One of the candidates for Mabus was the man specifically sought by CIA and US Army Special Forces on 7 October 2001 that triggered the war, which has so far killed around 30,000 Taliban insurgents as well as erased from life 2,053 Coalition soldiers (1,245-and-counting being Americans) and wounded 12,523. The man, Usama bin Laden, and his al-Qaeda organization were the targets yet they are still at large. Moreover, nearly 119,819 coalition troops occupy and fight 93,000 Afghan Taliban while Usama bin Laden and his terrorists remain absent from Afghanist. The war goes on in a land he evacuated nine years ago that today has at best a handful of al-Qaeda fighters in-country.

A letter I received from “Dan” reminds me that we ought to apply a rare Medieval colloquial meaning to the 16th-century word Nostradamus uses to clue us into many of his quatrains about his third and final Antichrist, temporally slated to be among us today. The word is “terror” (effrayeur in Renaissance French). I’m assuming Dan thinks it is deffrayeur, which means to amuse, to divert.

DAN
“Un grand Roye d’effrayeur” means: “a great king of comedy”
“descendra des nuages” means: “will descend from the clouds”

HOGUE
Dan, you cite Century 10 Quatrain 72 as one example but your memory of the original French is wrong.

The line should read:

Du ciel viendra vn grand Roy d’effrayeur.

(From the sky will come a great King of terror.)

The inference popularly regarded these days is that Nostradamus visualized a great terror attack coming out of the skies, such as what happened on 11 September 2001 when Usama bin Laden’s al-Qaeda terrorist organization successfully hijacked airliners and piloted them into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. The fourth airliner set to collapse the US Capitol dome crashed in a field outside of Pittsburgh, PA.

The prophecy’s first line says:

L’an mil neuf cens nonante neuf sept mois

(In the year 1999 Sept[ember] month.)

It is believed now that Sept stands for September and that the ones and nines should be read switched around in Nostradamus’ dating of the event:

In the year 9.11.1 September month.

Now that we have corrected Dan’s mistake let’s return to his belief that effrayeur had an old French meaning for a crazy fou, a cantankerous railleur, or a bouffon (all the usual labels for a court jester). Perhaps he is mistaking d’effrayeur as a word play for deffrayeur. Today I’d be willing to fly with the remote possibility of a double entendre — that a terror can also clown around with the Antichrist clues — in d’effrayeur. Interpretations ought to remain fluid enough to shine further light on this prophetic mystery story. I have not found a correlation in old French using effrayeur as a label for a frightening court jester. Clowns can be terrifying. Can Dan or any other Moyen français francofiles verify his theory below? What novels or other examples in 16th-century French literature cite effrayeur as a title for a clown?

DAN

The word effrayeur is an old now obscure word. He was a member of the traveling clown troubadour groups that eventually became circuses. The “effrayeur” literally was a character derived from the court jester and dressed rather oddly went around frightening people. The “effrayeur” could be bought or paid to frighten even intimidate specific individuals on an on going basis. There are novels written from that period that use that as the theme.

Not the King of terrors. The third anti-Christ might even be considered crazy by some because of some of the claims that he makes about religion. There are several quatrains that deal with a religious reformer by Nostradamus who will challenge the authority of the Vatican. When can this character be expected to arrive? Or has he and no one noticed?

HOGUE
The crazy factor of the antichrists is implied between the lines of Nostradamus’ prophetic account of the First Antichrist (Napaluon-Napoleon). Ambition drove him too far East. His armies “die in the white country” of Russia in 1812.

The next buffoon of doom called Hister is second Antichrist Adolf Hitler. Where to begin about listing the crazy crack-brained stratagems of this Hitlerian harlequin?

Who is the greater foolish Antichrist? The fool Napoleon who invaded Russia or the fool who followed him invading the same place 129 years later on nearly the same anniversary in 1941? The Germans freeze their wiener schnitzels worse than the Frenchmen froze their baguettes in the snows of Russia before Moscow.

After Hister there is one more effrayer-rant Scarmouch to Bozo the future. His code name is Mabus.

I wrote at length in my book about the Mabus code Nostradamus used to link prophecies by key words. For instance, effrayeur connects several quatrains purposefully scattered out of order throughout the quatrains of Nostradamus to protect them from easy understanding by candidates for antichrists who might want to change their forecasted ill fortunes. They were snooping around, you know.

It is believed that Emperor Napoleon received prophecy consultations from Egyptian books of fate and Empress Josephine’s reading of Nostradamus. Hitler’s propaganda minister Goebbels openly used Nostradamus’ prophecies in acts of psychological warfare against the French and English.

Best to scatter a larger prophecy in four-line quatrains to make the fishing job of Antichrists and their publicists harder. Good seekers are given clues. Nostradamus repeats certain words as possible links to other quatrains enlarging the prophecy. Gather those quatrains together with effrayeur written in them and you might fit quatrain pieces of a puzzle depicting a full prophecy about the third and final antichrist. Nostradamus loved puns and double entendre. I think it is possible he would us to apply the obscure and arcane Moyen Français meaning of d’effrayeur, if indeed there is one. Certainly using an apostrophe to hide deffrayeur is even more likely. It might allude to this King of terror being the third and ultimate psychotic prankster of the three.

An old French meaning for terrorist-clown-jester may allude indirectly to a 9/11 conspiracy overlooked. The Bush administration in August 2001 had actionable intelligence on an imminent attack by al-Qaeda on the American homeland. Some would say the attack the following month was a conspiracy of omission rather than the more popular scenario implicating the Bush administration fabricating a false flag-waving fraud attack on the USA to silence opposition in Congress and gain complete influence over the country under attack.

Beyond all the whys, hows, howls and wherefores promoted by the conspiracy-by-commission buffs, there is one simple reality that makes the fantastic tale of twin towers being wired with explosives, hit by remote control jets, etc., little more than the muttering brass cackles of clown horns honking in the dark. Consider a simple fact lying underneath all the phantasms of innuendo thrown into this conspiracy theory and see it for what it is: built on a foundation made of banana peels that even a zany droll trucking in on bizarrely huge shoes would slip upon, landing his big polka-dotted butt in a pratfall.

What lies underneath and supports this conspiracy is an assumed faith in the Bush Administration having the competence to pull it off. (honk-honk! Woo wooooo!)

Let’s calm down folks and remember: G.W. Bush of all people, President “bedtime for Bonzo” Bush, had to pull off this complicated conspiracy theory.

Now anyone who had read a series of evolving Neo-Conservative manifestos written in the 1990s by future key members of the Bush cabinet, such as Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz and Vice President Dick Cheney, has seen these papers explain the need for a “Pearl Harbor” event to gain the political control needed to rapidly advance their agenda. Upon reading the transcripts I could detect a movement thinking out loud and in public as Mein Kampf spelling out Hitler’s aspirations and schemes for political domination. The Neo-Cons needed a surprise terror attack on America that they could connect to two rogue nations that they believed replaced the fallen Soviet Union as the new threats to world stability and US hegemony. Rogue regimes in Iran and Iraq had to go, with consent of allies or by unilateral action if need be, because they threatened the disruption of precious oil imports the West and primarily the United States needed to sustain its role as a world dominant economy and unilateral global neo-Con cop.

Speaking once again of clowns and Antichrists, only a clown would resort to fabricating an elaborate false flag conspiracy rather than look the other way enabling another willing, fool effrayeur like Usama bin Laden to attack the United States. In August 2001, the Bush cabinet met at the president’s Crawford Texas dude ranch for the first of eight, lost and lazy month-long summer vacations in Bush’s two terms in office. The cabinet members had the reports spread on the Crawford Ranch coffee table about Usama bin Laden’s intent to attack and soon. They seemed to shrug it off. Is this testimony to their ineptitude or evidence of intent?

I do not rule out the former, but if the latter was the case, they knew Usama the Mournful Muslim Clown’s al-Qaeda organization’s power to hurt the country was limited. Al-Qaeda is no nuclear Soviet superpower. Damage sustained from a privateer Saudi terror cell would be sustainable — necessary even — to gain the political capital. Even President Obama, nearly a decade later, confessed to reporter Bob Woodward that the United States could “absorb” another al-Qaeda attack.

Thus, essays published by Neo-conservatives a month before G.W. Bush had his first debate with Al Gore in the 2000 presidential campaign openly addressed the advantages of a Pearl Harbor moment. It could be strategically achieved at relatively low cost giving Neo-Conservatism carte blanche to effect strategic domestic and international policy change as the emergency silenced all dissent while the nation rallied around their president. The people at home and in Congress in a state of national trauma would accept any Axis of Bush’s evil effrayeur suppositions mostly unproven as a righteous excuse to take down Saddam Hussein’s Iraqi dictatorship and perhaps even settle the score and overthrow the longtime US enemy Ayatollah regime in Iran.

In short, you do not have to fabricate a conspiracy to attack, you piggy-back and exploit someone else’s conspiracy. Remote control jets? Wire twin towers with explosives whilst keeping all those months of wall gutting construction secret from the 50,000 people coming in and out of each tower every day? I mean, come on? You’re the “Bush” administration. There’s limits to what you Keystone Cops can pull off. Why sweat it? Let the Hajj harlequin, the Lawrence-bin-Laden of Arabia do it. He’s willing to attack America on his own accord, on his own coin. He needed no prompting. He was the real deal. Bin Laden handed Bush and the Neo-Conservatives this dark comedy cloddishly called “The War on Terror”. Moreover, when Laden of Arabia and his best terror troops were surrounded up in the Tora Bora Mountains in Afghanistan, isn’t it interesting how easy it was for them to pass over into Pakistan.

Was the US 10th Mountain Division blocking the passes? Noooo! Some Pashtun clowns paid off by CIA operatives the week before to abandon supporting al-Qaeda, waited for bin Laden’s boys to saunter through throwing a higher bribe on the Afghan carpeted tent floor. Let those clowns go, thanks very much, into Pakistan where they are based and blowing things up in Afghanistan “and” Pakistan to this very day over nine years later.

It seems like the Neo-Clown-servatives in the White House circus needed bin Laden’s jihadist pantaloons in Pakistan and open for funny business so the White House Harlequins could start painting the war on terror in yahoo colors for a generation. The war was only a few days old after 9/11 and Bush already declared it would last for 30 years of more. How did he know that?

The Neo-Cons got their Effrayeur the Clown with bin Laden set loose into Pakistan.

I mean, history will show that there were a number of real dolts running the country during the Bush era performing the French medieval pantomime even Nostradamus might have suggested by using effrayeur playing the clown that goes “boo!” Usama the Clown wasn’t a big enough boogie Effrayeur. Let’s shock and awe Saddam Hussein who had nothing to do with 9/11 terror attacks but was sitting on the second largest oil reserve in the Middle East.

Oops! “Honk, honk.” They strung that clown up and someone else got the lucrative oil drilling deals, how silly. That’s a Bozo no-no.

Back to bogey man #1: bin Laden. And I just don’t know “Jack” about when that al-Qaeda clown boxed in Pakistan will pop out again. “Hoot! Hoot!” So color my alerts!

It seems the Effrayeur clown the Neo-Cons sustained in performance the longest was Bonzo-Bush the Clown. Scare the kiddies for fun you rascally effrayeur, you! A collage of fear mongering clown colors punctuated the presidential election year of 2004. Day glow “yellow” and orange “orange” alerts flashed like a jester’s nose whenever the president’s poll numbers dipped and presidential candidate Kerry the Clown’s numbers rose faster than a swift boat winched out of a South Vietnamese bog. The buffoon in the White House overdid his overblown and “ill” Pagliacci posturing with red bulbous nose-Fox-flashing network fear alarms. Even the lefty Cable Clown News Network (CNN) with Blitzer the Clown enabled a White House scare prank.

It was this successful three-ring circus of two three-lettered cable news networks flashing alerts on the public that in part kept the Dumbopublican Neo-Con regime in office. It would take another lost August vacate-tion at Crawford Texas convened the following year to break the spell over the land cast by Bush-the-wagin’-War-on-Terror Clown when yellow and orange alerts all came up Brown. Michael D. Brown to be exact. He was that horse-race organizer-turned-FEMA director who butterfingered the errant of mercy to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina in the autumn of 2005.

Honk! Honk! “Brownie, you’re doing a heck of a job!” Honk!

There are a number of modern-day “terrorizer clowns” who it just so happens find their names easily decoded in Nostradamus’ anagram for the name of his third and final Antichrist: Mabus. All the candidates are entwined in a showdown in the Middle East as opposing combatants.

A number of Usama bin Laden’s terrorist nicknames and handles letter crunch into Mabus. The most obvious of which is the correct phonetic spelling of his first name:

Usama = maaus

Drop the redundant “a” with the one letter allowed as replacement in Nostradamus’ rules of anagramming with the missing letter “b” and you get:

Usama = ma(a)us = Mabus

Now to the next clown in this war of terrible Bozos:

Take the “m” and “a” of Mabus. Turn them upside down to get “w” “g”. Switch these letters around to get “g” “w”. That leaves you “bus” for “Mabus”. Add the missing “h” and pop goes the weasel.

That leads us finally to the clown that sent more US troops into Afghanistan to fight the Taliban, who never attacked his country or held aspirations to do so. This clown-in-chief is an ally of the Pakistani regime that protects and harbors the al-Qaeda Punch and Judys who did attack America. This new American clown-in-chief will not directly attack al-Qaeda in Pakistan while Pakistan makes a useless show of engaging them with one hand and with the other hand gives money and support to the Taliban to fight Americans in Afghanistan who never attacked America.

Does this sound like a new low in US Bozo-diplomacy to you?

Replace one letter with the missing letter and you get “Obama” the Clown in the circus called “Vietnamistan.”

Napoleon Bonaparte (1769-1821) was more than a military, political and logistical genius with an estimated I.Q. of 143. When on hiatus from the first turbulent years of the French Revolution, the then newly minted artillery officer relaxed on his native island of Corsica writing a heroic romance novel of surprisingly good quality.

Napoleon’s interest in classical history and the antiquities of Egypt during his military expedition there in 1799 not only brought to European civilization’s attention the Rosetta Stone, which delivered the means to translate Egyptian hieroglyphs, but his team of scientists also uncovered and translated into French an Egyptian papyrus best known and published today as the Egyptian Book of Fate. It is said Napoleon carried and consulted it privately before important campaigns and battles to add a little occult spice to his strategic decisions. It is known that his mistress, then wife, then Empress, Josephine, delved into tarot cards and other divination techniques. It is believed she read the prophecies of Nostradamus; however, there is no indication in the writings of or about Napoleon that he was aware the 16th-century prophet had pinned him as the first of three Antichrists under the code name PAUNAYLORON (a code for Napaulon Roy = Napoleon King. Hubris saddled to an insatiable desire to keep conquering others blinded him to any oracular Egyptian warnings, if they could be had in the Book of Fate, or the warnings of Josephine’s tarot readings, not to plunge deep into Russia in 1812. Napoleon did so and destroyed an army of a half-million men. The following year he rebuilt an army of another half-million (teenagers mostly) and destroyed that in lost campaigns across the German states in 1813. He abdicated his throne as Emperor of the French in 1814 and was exiled to Elba after fighting and losing a campaign against a formidable coalition of Austrian, English, Prussian and Russian armies. He would escape Elba in 1815, return to France, fight and dramatically lose one last battle at Waterloo with the British and Prussians, after which Napoleon Bonaparte, was exiled for good to the South Atlantic island of St. Helena

In the last six years of life left, he had a lot of time to reflect on the past and predict how his actions would cast a giant shadow on the rest of the 19th century. Hidden within his memoirs and apologies to history are a number of accurate forecasts. He said the “19th” would be “a century of revolutions” foreseeing the fall of monarchies. France did mark two monarchies fall to street revolutions in 1830 (Charles X) and 1848 (Louis-Philippe). Revolutions would rage across Europe in 1848-49. There would be Garibaldi’s red-shirted revolution that eventually led to the fall of many principalities and monarchies with the unification of Italy. Greece fought more than one revolution to free themselves of the Turks and with the fall of Bonaparte’s cousin, Emperor Napoleon III, a bloody socialist revolution known as the Paris Commune consumed itself and much of Paris in 1871.

Napoleon Bonaparte on St. Helena predicted the crowded patchwork of little German states would soon resume and achieve their unification. This they did in 1870-71 when the Second Reich was established. (The First Reich being the Holy Roman Empire and the Third Reich being that of Adolf Hitler).

Napoleon foresaw the French people freed of the Bourbon yoke. That happened in 1830 with the fall of Charles X.

Nostradamus’ First Antichrist describes the worldwide spread of the French Revolution with a phrase one might expect from the prophet himself: “from this tripod [its] light will burst upon the world.” It is known that Nostradamus practiced his theurgic-spirit conjuring rites while sitting of a brass tripod like a Delphic oracle.

The Battle of Borodino was the bloodiest single-day clash of arms of the 19th century. It is estimated that in 12 hours of exceedingly violent combat up to 70,000 men were killed or wounded in a three-square mile area (and I may have been foolish enough in a past life to be caught in the cross-fire). Famous last words: "Beau feu!" (Good shot!)

Nostradamus savaged Napoleon in many remarkably accurate prophecies, but overlooked his more positive legacies. In the last prophecy above, Napoleon played his part in self-fulfillment. Though he was a dictator, he had spread the core values of the French Revolution across the continent and though at last defeated, these tenets endured forcing the victorious monarchies to adapt and reform their governments to embrace more human equality and freedom. Even the popes ruling with a Catholic fundamentalist hand tried to rescind Napoleon’s code of laws that prevented discrimination against all minorities, especially the Jews. They succeeded to force Jews back into ghettos only until the unification of Italy, inspired by the French revolution at last erased the Papal States.

Sorry Nostradamus, sometimes it takes an Antichrist to teach a Pope how to be a good Christian.

PS–My next blog will mark the 9th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attack by fashioning an essay based on Jihad Messiah, the seventh chapter of Nostradamus and the Antichrist: Code Named: MABUS.

I am back from a very successful press conference and publicity tour in Mexico City for History Channel’s release of El Effecto Nostradamus (The Nostradamus Effect) in the Latin American market of 100 million viewers.

I have many observations to share about my Mexico trip, but first prescient business before prescient pleasure. Many of you are asking if Nostradamus made any forecasts about Haiti and the earthquake. Haiti by name has never been mentioned; however, as Nostradamus views the future with the eyes and bias of a Frenchman, one must ever follow more verbally nebulous French connections to the future. Haiti, along with Quebec (Canada), is one of two significant centers in the America’s of French colonial culture and roots to Nostradamus’ homeland. There should therefore be a connection.

The term America is definitely mentioned in Nostradamus in plays on France’s most west-pointing nose of landmass aiming at the New World, as it was popularly thought of in Nostradamus’ day. America hides behind the name Amorica. At other times Nostradamus calls it a little closer, like the anagram Hister cuts a letter away from Hitler in his Antichrist prophecies, he calls America Americh. There’s no Haiti anywhere in the prophecies even though there is an indirect reference to a celebrated Haitian as one of Napoleon Bonaparte’s “foreign” female lovers.

In Century 4 Quatrain 54 he says:

Du nom qui onques ne fut au Roy Gaulois,
Iamais ne fut vn fouldre si craintif:
Tremblant l’Italie, l’Espaigne & les Anglois,
De femme estrangiers grandement attentif.

Of a name never held by a Gallic King,
Never was so fearful a thunderbolt.
Italy, Spain and the English tremble.
He will be greatly attentive to foreign women.

Josephine Beauharnais.

There would be romantic trysts with a Polish countess (Walenska) and an Italian prima donna (Grassini) but Napoleonic squeeze number one was the French woman born on the Island of Martinique, in the same region as Haiti, named Josephine Beauharnais. She became lover, wife and finally Empress of France. That’s as vaguely close as we get going down obvious linguistic trails to Haiti and last week’s tragedy being framed in the magic mirror of Nostradamus.

There are other roads made of word links we might take. We must understand an important point lost to many a Nostradamus scholar in foreign lands who have the national conceit to presume Nostradamus understood their languages and wrote most of his prophecies solely for their country. For example, I came across half dozen Japanese Nostradamian books over the years that force over a third of his prophecies to explain important past and future events on that distant Nipponese island chain.

One thing is clear in cloudy Nostradamus’ prophecies. He mentions more geographic locations than any prophet in history, over 600. Nevertheless, the locations thin out the farther we stray away from where they were written, in Salon-en-Provence in South France. Lots of references to Provence, Northern Italy, and France. Less for Germany, England, Spain and the rest of Europe. Then comes the Middle East and North Africa. A little of Russia too. After that, the geographic pickings are slim indeed. Very, very few for Asia, Africa, or the Western Hemisphere. These cover the general continent and its peoples more than a specific locale,

Today we’ll look at one of them: Hesperia, Land of the West, or land of the rising western star.

The variant uses of Hesperia by Nostradamus can apply well to events involving the United States. In (Century-Volume) 4 Q(uatrain) 99, the distant Westerners of the Americas are part of the Western alliance of World War II. The prophecy initially describes the overwhelming defeat of France “by thunderbolts” (aka Blitzkrieg) tactics of Adolf Hitler in 1940. By inserting the “Hesperians” into the mix, the word becomes a hint of near future success coming out of French defeat for the Western Alliance to come. The Hesperians come up again in his famous prophecy naming the Second World War Battle of Tobruk (1 Q28.) The Hesperian link continues in 10 Q94. A fleet of Westerners invaded South France. The prophecy mentions many details of that amphibious landing, Operation Anvil that did take place along the Provencal coastlines in August 1944. America factors in again in 4 Q50 as the symbolic Libra with her scales (i.e. Justice/Democracy) foretold to become a dominant power of the Western world.

The word-clues Hesperie or Esperie, or Hesperiques, point Nostradamus’ laurel branch to prophecy’s boiling cauldron summoning images of those Westerners cloaked in metaphors honoring Ancient Greek myth. Hesperos is the Evening Star in the West. The Hesperides were the daughters of Atlas and Hesperus/Hesperis, and they lived in the extreme West, at the world’s edge hard by Night. Is not the mention of the evening star an allusion to stars in the US flag?

It is clear to me that Hesperia refers more to the great nation across the wide Atlantic, beneath the western evening star, that today sends thousands of troops, its generous donations of money, medicine and care to the people of Haiti, if not a forecasting clue to Haiti itself.

We will have to follow the detective trail down other word and phrase routes in Nostradamus. Haiti comes from Ayiti, the Taino Caribbean-American Indian word in Arawakan for “mountainous land.” In the next blog about Nostradamus and Haiti, we track all references in his prophecies to mountainous lands. Perhaps a presage about the Haitian quake will emerge.

Nostradamus Predictions, the Antichrist

I would like to share with you a legitimate complaint that has no doubt been passed down generation after generation through 450 years of readers and scholars of Nostradamus. One might call it the fundamental complaint about the conscious and calculated obscurity Nostradamus chose to cloak his history of the future. I had a valuable discussion with a reader named Chris in two emails that I would like to share with my Internet community in this and a second blog.

What initiated this discussion was Chris’ comment about my recent blog about the death of Pakistani Taliban leader Baitullah Mehsud making him a candidate for Nostradamus’ Third and Final antichrist, codenamed “Mabus.” (See The Death of Baitullah Mehsud: Is he Mabus? posted 10 August 2009). Unlike the other two antichrists (believed to be Napoleon and Hitler), the third dies at the beginning of his career and his death somehow triggers the unraveling of the world of people and animals for either 27 or 25 years. (You can read my full accounting of the Mabus prophecies here: Mabus Nostradamus.) My inserts are put in Chris’ comments from today to help clarify.

What about the rest of the quatrain? [Chris means the famous "Mabus" quatrain: Century 2 Quatrain 62.] What makes Mabus the Third Anti-Christ anyway? There really isn’t that much evidence linking Mabus with the Third Anti-Christ. I read John’s Mabus book and I just don’t see it…maybe I’m stubborn, or maybe I just want real evidence, and now what if and could be.

HOGUE:
Hi Chris,

Two answers:

1.) Yes, you stubbornly want to have the future fit your view. I understand it. I wrestle with this every day as a prophecy scholar. I am very sympathetic to your stubborn stance about facts.

2.) You want the facts to draw conclusions when all the facts haven’t happened yet to make that conclusion. This is the dilemma of being a futurist. How can there be facts before an event completely happened?

In Nostradamus and the Antichrist, Code Named: MABUS, I laid out the ways in which candidates did and didn’t fit the clues in the prophecy. I showed the linguistic links that are the main ways Nostradamus cued us into quatrains linking by word usage, biblical metaphor and classical metaphors to other quatrains.

I also gave you objective facts matching prophecy, such as Saddam Hussein’s reign of terror lasting 27 years and that he died when a comet did pass [as the Mabus prophecy in Century 2 Quatrain 62 specifies]. Again, as long as there are other possibilities waiting in the future we cannot be “objective” about facts being fulfilled now. For instance, Saddam died on the day a major comet did appear to the naked eye, 27 years after he took power, but what if Usama bin Laden dies when a new comet passes? What if the comet is a missile and not a comet, as such, but a metaphor for something Nostradamus can’t quite grasp, like a missile fired from a drone with a long comet like trail of fire coming out of the sky?

One may be 100 percent able to judge the antichrist prophecies when and only when the times they frame have clearly come and gone into the past, like other prophecies Nostradamus wrote about the French Revolution, or Hitler, or Napoleon, etc.

1800–1815: The Rise and Fall of Napoleon
According to Nostradamus (1555-1557):

An Emperor will be born near Italy…

Napoleon was born in Corsica off the Italian coast.

…He will cost his Empire very dearly….He is less a prince than a butcher.  (C1 Q60)

From simple soldier he will attain to Empire…Italy, Spain, and the English tremble; he will be greatly attentive to foreign women.. (C4 Q54)

Napoleon’s greatest lovers were Josephine, born in the Caribbean; Marie Walewska, a Polish princess; and his second Empress, Marie-Louise–Austrian.

For fourteen years he will hold his tyranny… (C7 Q13)

Napoleon ruled as First Consul, then later as Emperor of France, from 1800 to 1814. He fell from power as a result of his disastrous Russian campaign of 1812, of which the prophet said:

…The kingdom rushes to great misfortune. (C6 Q67). A mass of men approach from Russia. The destroyer ["(N)apalluon" in Greek] will ruin the old city: he will see his Roman empire quite desolated….He would not know how to extinguish the great flame… (C4 Q82)

Moscow was set on fire. Napoleon’s army was forced to desert the charred ruins at the onset of the Russian winter.

…Ready to fight he will desert. The chief adversary [Russia] will be victorious. The rear guard will make a defense, those who falter dying in the white country. (C4 Q75)

Napoleon deserted the remnant of his retreating army, which was destined to die, almost to a man, in the snows of Russia.

In the third month…the boar and the leopard meet on the battlefield….

In June 1815, three months after his escape from exile, Napoleon–whom Nostradamus calls the boar–fought the Duke of Wellington at Waterloo. Napoleon called Wellington the Leopard of England.

…The fatigued leopard looks up to heaven and sees an eagle playing with the sun. (C1 Q23)

…[They] will appear to the victor…neither bugle nor cries will stop the [French] soldiers. In time liberty and peace is achieved through death.. (C1 Q38)

At Waterloo, Wellington’s battered army had withstood every French attack. At sunset, Napoleon hurled his own Imperial Guard in one final charge. As the French attack mounted the ridge, the Duke and his men could see the brass eagles atop the standards of Napoleon’s Imperial Guard swinging against the setting sun. Moments later an English volley shattered their charge. The French were routed.

The great empire will be exchanged for a little…petty place…[to] which he will come to lay down his scepter.  (C1 Q32)

Napoleon was exiled to the tiny island of Saint Helena, where he died in 1821.

Nineteenth Century: Wars and Revolutions
According to the Prophecy of Warsaw (1790):

The Napoleonic Wars

Prussia and Russia will divide Poland among themselves.

Fulfilled in 1793.

In 1805 a war will break out between France and Austria, and if Austria will not make peace, she shall lose everything.

What About Saddam Hussein?

Saddam Hussein’s rapid fall might indicate he is out of the running. However, at the date of this writing, he is still alive, and now overseeing a part, if not the leader of, a gathering guerrilla insurrection in Iraq. Death in the near future may yet see him fulfill the criterion for Mabus in Century 2, Quatrain 62: he soon dies at the onset of the war and his death is a catalyst for the great destruction of people and animals around the world in a 27-year war of international terrorism.

So far he has missed two assassination attempts by US bunker buster missiles at the beginning and towards the end of the invasion phase of this war. Saddam could still face death from a bunker or bungalow busting missile hitting a secret bunker as I described in my 1997 interpretation for Century 9, Quatrain 74 in “Nostradamus: The Complete Prophecies.” The content of that prophecy will be the foundation of the HogueProphecy Bulletin I will write when Saddam Hussein is destroyed.

I wish to quote my 1997 interpretation of Century 6 Quatrain 33 for today’s theme about the aftermath of the Saddam regime.

Sa main derniere par Alus sanguinaire
Ne se pourra par la mer guarentir:
Entre deux fleuues craindre main militaire,
Le noir l’ireux le fera repentir

His power finally through bloody Alus,
He will be unable to protect himself by sea.
Between two rivers he will fear the military hand,
The black one will make the angry one repent of it.

The quatrain implies that Saddam Hussein (“the angry one”) is the man who is “unable to protect himself by sea” (his defenses proved useless against sea-launched cruise missiles both during and after the Gulf War of 1991). Saddam, the Mesopotamian leader “between two rivers” (the Tigris and Euphrates) who fears the “military hand” of the West, may also need to fear the hand or power of bloody “Alus,” the “black one,” who is someone other than Abu Nidal. He could be a future black-robed Ayatollah from Iran.

I would add that the Ayatollah I spoke of six years earlier might turn out to be the Iranian Ayatollah Khamenei or the leader of Iraqi Shiite Ayatollahs fomenting a fundamentalist Islamic state in Post-Saddam Iraq.

The BBC news reported the return to Iraq of Ayatollah Mohammed Baqr al-Hakim from a 23-year exile in Iran. He is considered the most important Shiite cleric of Iraq This Ayatollah recently made a speech before hundreds of thousands of Shiite followers in Basra, declaring “We want an independent government… We refuse imposed government…We now have to know our own way to rebuild Iraq, and forget the past…We Muslims have to live together… We have to help each other stand together against imperialism… We want an independent government. We refuse imposed government!”

Saddam’s sons have been killed. He will follow them shortly. What transpires in the months or a year ahead is a new insurrection fomented by a black robed and angry Iraqi Shiite Ayatollah. Whether his anger or US imperialist interests in Iraq are justified only history will tell. Prophecy tells us that a new guerrilla war is coming. It may not be soley a war waged by those between the two rivers of the Tigris and Euphrates in the “Sunni” Muslim “Triangle.” The vast majority of Iraqi’s of the Shiite faith will, for better or worse, choose to establish their own political destiny without edicts from Viceroys of an American occupation. The Shiites may push aside the Americans if they do not step aside.

Is Abu Mazen (Mahmoud Abbas) “Mabus”?
No question has generated more emails to me than this. I have received and continue to receive thousands of your letters about the name of the new Secretary General of the Palestinian National Authority’s Executive Committee’s close approximation to the anagram “Mabus.” Both his birth name, Mahmoud Abbas, and PLO code name (Abu Mazen) can fit the rules of letter crunching anagrams to make “Mabus”:

M. Abbas = Mabbas = Mabas = (replace one vowel to get) = Mabus

Abu Mazen = (take the “M” from Mazen, drop the redundant “a”) = Mabu = (the letter “z” phonetically changes to “s”) = Mabusen (then drop the two redundant letters “en”) = Mabus”

Mahmoud Abbas was born in Safed, Israel in 1932. He became a Palestinian refugee growing up in Syria after the 1948 Israeli War of Independence. He joined the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) in the 1950s and received his doctorate in Israeli affairs from Moscow University in 1970. In 1965, Abbas along with Yasser Arafat was one of the prime founders of Fatah, the radical guerilla faction of the PLO. He rose to a position in PLO Executive Committee in 1980, and became head of the Department of National (Arab) Affairs in 1984. Ten years later he refused a post in the Ministry of Palestinian National Authority. In the 1990s, Abbas had shown himself to be a moderate figure working for a peaceful solution to the Palestinian, Israeli problem. In 1993 he signed the Declaration of Principles alongside President Clinton, Shimon Peres, Yitzchak Rabin, and Yasser Arafat. He is the architect of the Oslo Peace Accords, of which he explained to the New York Times in 1993:

“We have come to this point [Oslo Accords] because we believe that peaceful coexistence and cooperation are the only means for reaching understanding and for realizing the hopes of the Palestinians and the Israelis…”

By 1996, Abbas became Yasser Arafat’s chief deputy, and second most powerful leader of the Palestinian Authority and his heir apparent. Abbas’ consistently liberal and pragmatic approach has often united moderate Israeli and Paletinian leaders to the cause of peace while alienating the extremists of either camp. His plan for establishing Jerusalem as a joint Israeli/Palestinian capital has earned him the ire of Fatah and Israeli fundamentalists alike. Many Israelis believe Mahmoud Abbas walks and talks like a moderate, but this is actually the peace-promoting façade of a cunning politician advancing his anti-Zionist goals.

Thousands of you are convinced that he is Mabus, however, I would like to suggest you consider the following.

Sometimes a name seems so close that it must fit. During the 1990s many people were just as convinced that the US Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Raymond Mabus, was “Mabus.” It makes logical sense. He is named outright, he is influential and he was right in the middle of the tense arena for the expected (or projected) Armageddon. Perhaps if he had died violently in a terrorist act it might have triggered a devasating US response and killed a great many “people and animals” as Quatrain 62 of Century 2 implies. Nevertheless, Ambassador Mabus retired in the mid-1990s from the post without fanfare or prophetic significance.

My initial sense is that Mahmoud Abbas is not enough of an uncommon and threatening figure to be one of Nostradamus’ Antichrists like Hitler or Napoleon. I believe he will be remembered as a politically ineffectual and weak puppet — sometimes pulled by strings held by Yasser Arafat, at other times tugged by strings attached to President Bush. Abbas will be remembered as a weak voice of moderation pitted in a conflict of intemperate Arab and Israeli people. I believe the majority of Arabs and Israelis are not yet ready or even able to drop the religious, racial and socially programmed attitudes required to bring a lasting peace in the so-called “Holy” Land.

I do believe Mahmoud Abbas could be a possible candidate for “Mabus” if he is not intended by Nostradamus as his Third Antichrist but as some victim or catalyst for the actions of the Third Antichrist. Thus, if Mahmoud Abbas is assassinated, his death may trigger a “great destruction of people and animals” as the Mabus prophecy implies — in which case a bloody Middle Eastern war will spread acts of terrorism and counter-terrorism across the world over the next 27 years.

Follow the Anagram Road
Another flood of emails comes from those of you who believe that whoever “Mabus” is he must follow the easy-to-decipher pattern of word crunching that makes Hitler “Hister” the second Antichrist, and Napoleon “Napaulon Roy” the first Antichrist.

Although “Hister” only requires one letter change, the perception that “Napaulon Roy” is an easy anagramatical solution to Century 8 Quatrain 1′s PAU, NAY, LORON is a myth.

In Nostradamus: The Complete Prophecies I explained the mechanics of decoding this anagram for “Napoleon King” in the following way:

“The anagram PAU NAY LORON swiveled once becomes NAY PAU LORON, and twice, NAPAULON ROY = Napoleon, King. The spelling for Napoleon in Corsican style, Napauleone, is even closer to the anagram. In a more sinister decoding one drops an N, reverts the U phonetically to Y. The anagram then spells out the Greek horror of the Apocalypse, Apallyon, the angel of the abyss from Revelations 9.11 or, in this case, the Corsican horror APAULYON ROY or ‘King Destroyer.’ This is the man with the ‘ferocious name’ of ‘destroyer’ from [Century 1, Quatrain 76].”

It would be more accurate to say that the Mabus anagram has a fifty-fifty chance of being either a close approximation of the decoded name, such as Hister=Hitler, or it will take some creative decoding.

Is G. W. Bush now Antichrist Candidate Number One?
The second largest wave of emails since the war in Iraq asks me to consider the American president the prime candidate for Nostradamus fearsome Mabus after he trounced Saddam Hussein. The reasons provided to me by fans are many and detailed. I will account the gist of them here for you all in a brief summary.

In your many letters the argument for Bush being Mabus relies heavily on the American president’s predilection for unilateralist action. You think an Antichrist should have disrespect for international law; that he will ignore diplomacy and rush into preemptive invasion of sovereign nations to overthrow their regimes. To many of you, President Bush is nearly as disparaging and dismissive of the United Nations as the Second Antichrist (Hitler) was for the UN’s predecessor, the League of Nations. Many of you compare Bush to Hitler because in your view he shares the same penchant for speaking in simplistic absolutes. He sees himself in messianic terms as a savior, force-feeding his political world view on others by repetitive use of “the big lie.” In other words, he propagates a lie so many times that people begin to believe it, such as Saddam being an imminent because he is aiming a vast array of weapons of mass destruction at the US. Like Hitler, many of you think Bush followed his big lie with acts of military aggression unsubstantiated by objective evidence for a just cause.

The more conspiratorial minded among you believe Bush and the neoconservatives in Washington who prop him up as their spokesman are using the Islamist terrorist attacks of 11 September as an excuse to consolidate dictatorial power. They exploit a terrorist emergency to dismantle democratic freedoms just as Hitler did in 1933. When a communist purportedly torched the Reichstag (the German Capitol building), Hitler used this act as a pretext to rescind democratic freedoms “temporarily-cum-forever” until the terrorist danger to Germany was over. Indeed, many of you out there say you fear the US president is the front man for a neoconcervative revolution that will lead to an American brand of Christian Fundamentalist Fascism at home and imperialist adventures abroad. You compare German capitalists bending the rules to appoint (not elect) Hitler as German Chancellor in 1933 to the questionable way bungled ballots in Florida and a Supreme Court edict elected Bush to the presidency in 2000.

The near-miraculous lightning war in Iraq followed by a developing quagmire of guerrilla war has many of you making historic (if at the moment a bit grandiose) comparisons of Bush to Hitler. Both leaders at the onset of their wars enjoyed miraculous and easy victories only to see the same conquered lands later on become sink holes of partisan warfare. Some of you predict easy victories in Iraq will encourage Bush to pursue invasions of Syria, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and Iran. Perhaps if more victories come bloodless and initially easy, you think Bush will even attempt a showdown with North Korea later in his second term. (I believe this showdown may come as early as Autumn 2003.) All of which will lead to America’s economic and social collapse in decades to come by way of the stress of a global Vietnam Syndrome.

Some of you remind us that the first two Antichrists came from the Western and Judeo-Christian programmed corner of the world, therefore, why not the Third Antichrist? Saddam Hussein (the Arab candidate) turned out to be a little pygmy commanding a shoeless, rust bucket of a Soviet style army. On the other hand Bush like Hitler and Napoleon before him began his war using the most powerful and technologically advanced armed force of his day.

Then there are letters coming from those of you who subscribe to seeing your antichrists in beastly Book-of-Revelation meter. To you, the Antichrist will appear initially as an all powerful world leader and peacemaker. He rules a superpower or “hyper-power,” and wields complete military and economic authority to wage war or force his idea of peace and economy on anyone, anywhere in the world.

New Agers and Holy Rollers alike share a prophetic caveat that such a future antichrist begins his rule as an apparent bold and benevolent leader who has the guts to start cleaning up the world’s rogue and terrorist harboring nations if no one else will. He’ll bring freedom and enlightenment to Iraq, Iran, North Korea, etc. He will initially be successful and not run into much resistance at first, from home or abroad. His enemies and critics will be divided and weak, his friends exultant and arrogant, while the majority are cautiously supportive, but generally in denial of his darker statements and documented plans.

I must say, many of your views are very imaginative, though the Hitler/Bush connection still has a long way to go before it sounds viable. Hitler might use Reichstag fires to set up a dictatorship, the US Supreme court might appoint an American president, but Bush’s war for petrol “lebensraum” is already overextending his militant reach.

Hitler kept the fuzzy math of his economic policies alive by exploiting the resources and wealth of conquered nations. Bush Corp has scarcely turned on the spiggot to Iraqi oil. The Vice President’s Halburton contractors are too afraid to venture out from their hotels into those oil fields as long as a handful of guerillas are on the loose dynamiting pipe lines and rigs. Compared to this timidity Hitler’s contractors were far bolder. In 1941, when Hitler conquered much of the European half of the Soviet Union, his contractors fanned across the territories tearing up and relaying thousands of miles of Russian railroad tracks so they fit the smaller German rail guage. They did this contending with over a million guerillas.

Hitler’s Reich for most of its war of conquest enjoyed a solid alliance with Italy and the Empire of Japan. German soldiers fought side by side with millions of Italians, Hungarians, Slovaks, Croats, Romanians and the Finns. Bush’s “Coalition of the Willing” at present consists of 13,000 English and 1,000 Australian troops. More troops are promised by former Axis allies to aid America in its occupation of Iraq, such as Hungary and Romania, but it is safe to say the contribution will be a few thousand for the American cause rather than the hundreds of thousands they pledged to Nostradamus’ second Antichrist, Hitler.

A Nostradamian antichrist worth his weight in dire quatrains should have silenced domestic opposition. His occupation should have placated the home front with the wealth of exploited conquests. Does Bush even come close to such Anti-Christian success? The sagging economy and a still potent if hybernating American voting populace could vote any neoconservative delusion of grandeur out of office in 2004. Did the Germans vote Hitler out of office after he got them stuck in the quagmire of the Soviet Union?

With that said, it is undeniable that Bush as a candidate for Nostradamus’ Third Antichrist has grown in power and stature since the overthrow of Saddam Hussein. We must also consider the likelihood that Nostradamus intended his three Antichrists to be the personification of three dark steps towards the threatened derailment of civilization. It could be argued that the root evil of “Anti-Christian” behavior is human stupidity. When we act like puppets and robots rather than responding to life with enlightenment, compassion, and awareness, we are all a personification of the state of unconsciousness called “Antichrist.” Thus one must consider the third and final Antichrist intended by Nostradamus may be on the one hand the most powerful of the three and the most unconscious and mediocre of the three. We must consider that since he falls early in the long war he starts it could be because he is a profoundly idiotic and powerful leader who blundered into and was soon destroyed by a 27-year war he began but couldn’t finish.

Still, the litmus test remains altogether simple. Bush or any other candidate for Mabus must pass through the following prophetic milestones provided in the text of Century 2 Quatrain 62 and Century 8 Quatrain 77:

1.) He must soon die in the early stages of a war he either started (if Mabus is the Third Antichrist) or is procecuting against the Third Antichrist.

2.) The death of this figure early in the war triggers a 27-year reverberation of terror and counter terror around the world.

3.) Indeed it doesn’t matter if Mabus and the Third Antichrist are one person or two, both fall early in the war, and their fall becomes the catalyst for the closest brush with Armageddon any of us will ever face, and hopefully avoid

4.) His death as victim of — or purpetrator of — the 27 year war of the Third Antichrist causes a great destruction of people and animals on a global scale. I would add that this destruction could come not soley through a war he might wage. If the Third Antichrist is President Bush then this terrible destruction of people and animals could come in later decades as a result of his political alienation of the US with the world. It comes though his ill conceived and short sighted economic and global policies. If these policies continue then Bush will be remembered as the US president who accelerated consumerism, ecological degradation, the population explosion, and global warming — all key factors foreseen by many seers, ancient and modern, for triggering the derailment of civilization as early as the 2020s.

It is my belief that last Saturday’s space shuttle disaster (1 February.) is the first illumination of a succession of events coming in the next few months concerning Century 2 Quatrain 62.

Nostradamus’ famous “Mabus” prophecy is about to be fulfilled. A translation in English reads:

Mabus will soon die, then will come,
A horrible undoing of people and animals,
At once one will see vengeance,
One-hundred powers, thirst, famine, when the comet will pass.

Nostradamus wrote two prophecies concerning the advent, destruction and 27-year war of the third of three antichrists. He hid the name of the first antichrist under the anagram “Napaulon Roy” (Napoleon King); the second he called “Hister” (Hitler); the third is either code named “Mabus” (C2 Q62), or he is addressed as the “Third Antichrist” of Century 8 Quatrain 77. For now I will give you brief interpretive conclusions about the Mabus/Third Antichrist prophecies.

Two finalists compete for the title of “Mabus” By following the laws of anagram you turn the “M” and “a” in “Mabus” upside down and they become “g. W.” The “h” then is left silent in Latinized French, thus “bus” becomes “bus(h).” “Mabus” therefore becomes G.W. Bus(h).

As I have been saying for over 15 years now, you can also get Saddam (Hussein) out of “Mabus” by using the anagram game of reverse lettering. Put Mabus into lower case letters — “mabus.” Reverse them and you get “subam.” Reverse any letter that makes another letter and you get “sudam.” The laws of anagram allow for doubling one letter, so you can get “suddam.” You are allowed one vowel’s replacement with another, so you can replace “u” with “a” to spell “saddam.”

I have shared my belief on the record for nine years-and-counting that Nostradamus’ Third Antichrist is none other than Saddam Hussein. However; as events catch up with augury, an interpreter must be open minded to the ever clearer understanding that often comes when the light of future events foreseen draw near to the present.

No matter how repugnant this revelation may be to myself and to other Americans, I cannot rule out the growing prescient evidence that the Third Antichrist may be the the American president. G.W. Bush, rather than Iraqi president Saddam Hussein. It is also necessary to confront the ugly possibility that Nostradamus has once again mistaken his symbols and made a composite out of two adversarial leaders. In other words, Mabus is a composite of Bush and Saddam Hussein. They are the two-faced catalyst for the Third World War.

The events of the next few months will judge my interpretation of the Mabus prophecy true or false. If my understanding of Nostradamus is correct then sometime around the new moon of 3 March 2003 (UPDATE-3/18/03: A little later in March, it would seem), the United States will invade Iraq. Saddam Hussein will be killed in one of his bunkers by a missile, or by a coup. If he is “Mabus” then he “soon dies.” He therefore is one of the first casualties of this new war. His death is not the beginning of the end of troubles, but the end of the beginning of a 27-war of terror. A number of Nostradamus’ prophecies imply that this war’s final stages could see nuclear exchanges between old adversaries of the Cold War era: Russia and America, as well as a nuclear exchange between America and China — all taking place sometime no later than the end of the 2020s. In other words, a rush to war will hasten the death of Mabus, and his death brings this terrible apocalypse upon humanity. Nostradamus in Century 8 Quatrain 77 says:

The Third Antichrist very soon annihilated.
Twenty-seven years his bloody war will last.
The heretics are dead, captives exiled,
Blood-soaked human bodies, and a reddened, icy hail covering the earth.

The Third Antichrist — this man named Mabus — is the first to go down. Whether this first casualty of war turns out to be the president of America or of Iraq — or both — the war of Mabus is just beginning. It is a war motivated by “heretic” religious views. Its catalyst harbors extreme fundamentalist and apocalyptic religious views, be they Christian (in the case of Bush) or Islamic (in the case of Saddam Hussein). Islamist terrorists are already the “captives, exiled” filling U.S. POW camp at Guatanamo Bay, Cuba. The final line could be a horrific description of the human wreckage one might behold if the death of the American president or the Iraqi president should inspire a catastrophic retaliatory revenge attack (“a great undoing [or destruction] of people and animals]). Nostradamus in other quatrains hints of “new plagues” unleashed across the earth from this war. Perhaps the red stain upon corpses and the icy hail are a 16th century man’s attempt to describe those killed by a rain of chemical and biological weapons.

Perhaps “Mabus soon dies” in the next few weeks, after “the comet” passes.

Nestled in the grass in a field in eastern Texas, lies a mission patch from the fallen space shuttle Columbia. It somehow had miraculously survived its fiery fall out of the morning sky. The names of the seven heroic astronauts who died make an outline of their space shuttle. A glowing trail like a comet’s tale streaks through the shuttle’s outline ending in a many pointed star. It is a star very similar to that filmed by a hundred amateur video cameras across Texas as it fell to earth like a flaming comet.

Mabus will soon die, then will come,
A horrible undoing of people and animals… when the comet will pass.

Has the comet just passed?

Is this the chilling portent of things to come for America if they should hurry off to war?

Destiny holds it breath as America primes its war machine.

UPDATE-3/17/03: It would seem that moonlit deserts don’t concern the US President as his special forces must pass over these to secure oil fields and landing fields in the initial stages. According to the US ultimatum today, it would seem that war could begin any time after Wednesday, 19 March; even though the waning moon will nearly be full. One might expect the attack could be delayed until the moon is in its last quarter on 24 March as this would bring the invasion in the darkness of evening before the moon rises around midnight. Then again, anyone who has been to the Middle East knows that the heat is coming. It has already begun. Perhaps the God of War is too short tempered, too hot and bothered, to relent.
