In the year 2011, have ears to hear the first random chimes of the unsustainable before the bell toll quickens, multiply, gathering chimes in number down a decade of denial until it rings in constant, cacophonous alarm.

The year 2011 marks the crying advent of the seven-billionth child. The time the mainstream world will begin to experience the first inklings of a supersystem collapse to come in the 2020s.

Predictions for 2011

I have wanted to write about this most significant milestone since it was estimated we passed the 7-billion mark sometime this summer. I was waiting for the news agencies around the world to report it. This soul passing out of the suffering vaginal curtains of some mother, somewhere in the developing world punctuating the fact that another billion people have been uploaded on the back of our overstressed Earth since 1998.

Nothing of significance came out of the media. Our dark little secret that we are breeding ourselves to civilization’s death is something, like our genitalia and sexual proclivities. We do not expose or mention these in public. Sexuality is the root of our life force and unless we bring it into the light to explore and understand this root of life force, the path “from sex to superconsciousness” – as Osho would define it – will never get off base energy ground.

The summer of the seven-billionth child’s advent is passing away with little fatal fanfare for what that means for the future of humanity. I have waited long enough for the media as has my readers. Just today one of them asked that it may be a good time to review a four-line quatrain verse from the 16th-century king of prophets, Nostradamus concerning the importance of the great number seven being reported. Does this perhaps indicate Nostradamus at least wished to report on our overpopulation over four centuries before it happened?

Century 10 Quatrain 74 reads first in its original 16th-century French with my translation:

An reuolu du grand nombre septiesme,
Apparoistra au temps ieux d’Hecatombe:
Non esloigné du grand eage milliesme,
Que les entrés sortiront de leur tombe.

The year the great seventh number is passed,
Appearing at the time of the games of slaughter:
Not far from the age of the great millennium (2000),
When the dead will come out of their graves.

Back in the mid nineteen-nineties, I recorded this interpretation for Nostradamus: The Complete Prophecies:

“During the Second Gulf War US pilots talked about airstrikes as if they were plays in an American football game. In a quatrain set for a future time when people treat the ultimate human tragedy of war with new lows of banality, it is a promise of hope that mankind will transcend its ancient tomb of fossilized traditions that have sustained endless cycles of war and rape, and be reborn into a new millennium of peace.

“The seventh number is the seventh millennium, the source of much contention and confusion amongst Nostradamus scholars, because the prophet counts us down to the date of doomsday or bloomsday with different starting dates. Either it comes in this millennium or a.d. 3242 — or even a.d. 3826.

“If before the year 2000 man can reject political power games in favor of a new awakening, the world may survive into the next millennium.”

Nostradamus: The Complete Prophecies (1997), pp. 801-802.

We are on the other side of that millennium-turning cycle of centuries and as often is the case, these quatrains of Nostradamus may reveal more subtle and complicated layers of presaging hint to what this quatrain is dating when the milestone of great number seven is reuvolu (an old French word meaning accomplished, completed, finished or passed).

I would say that the millennium passing and the world population reaching seven billion 11 years later frame a date pinpointing a time when humanity’s stresses upon itself and the world will require we enter a period of apocalypse out of which may arise human childhood’s end.

We have passed the great millennium in 2000 and the great seventh number, the seventh billion, has been passed. The days of tribulation leading potentially to transformation of the human race begins now. The alarm bells ring in 2011 sounding an unsustainable future for “Stupid”. Time to awaken from our superstitious religions, our ignorance-based faiths. Time to redefine what it is to be human, tame our population explosion rather than keep taming and raping our Mother Earth.

I would say Nostradamus uses the biblical metaphor in the final line as a message to awaken, to see humanity reborn. Let us rise from the graves of our unconscious habit and fossilized dogmas. Let us be renewed.

This is the time to understand what the true meaning of Apocalypse is and become that Apocalypse.

Apocalypse!

The word conjures visions of divine revenge and the Earth splitting open, welcoming sinners to Satan’s reception. It threatens the final moment when destiny’s back is against the wall and history’s excuses have run out. It is a spiritual foreclosure. A time to pull a mantle of mountains over one’s head and hide from St. John’s acid trip of angels with swords for tongues, who hang on every bleat and low of a lamb with seven eyes. And why? Because Captain Karma (a.k.a. God Almighty) is looking in the Book of Life and your name isn’t there. The Judgment Day has come!

Apocalypse?

Words by themselves have no life except that which we invest in them. They pass down the centuries, taking on new psychological charges like stories whispered down a queue. The Greeks never intended this world to be a noun of doom. Apocalypse literally means “to uncover” or “to expose” the truth. There is a naked truth here, hiding beneath the changing fashions of syntax. However, the price of truth revealed might be a degree of change one is not ready to risk. Why else, then, do we react with such hopelessness and fear to a word that signifies the real hiding behind the false? Can we see only catastrophe in the revelation of truth?

President Obama and Speaker John Boehner at an impass on the Debt Ceiling.

Friends,
The great high-pressure dome across the eastern two thirds of the United States reluctantly relinquishes its hot pressure cooker on 200 million Americans one tenacious degree at a time. In the other dome, the US Capitol Building, the pressure cooker for political leadership and action intensified last night. The debt ceiling deadline approaches and the big babies on the Beltway, pretending to be adults — our leaders on Left, Center and Right — are letting their inability to find common ground, grind the US credit and credibility down as a leading economic superpower into the baked earth.

President Obama spoke to the nation Monday night, followed a few minutes later with a speech by the Speaker of the House John Boehner. Though I found Obama’s “Spockian” delivery more logical and substantive, he inserted a passage about an agreement to raise revenue that is clearly not in the Senate or House propositions ready to be put before a vote. Speaker Boehner’s speech relied on a deer-in-the-headlights sing-songy slogan-filled explanation of the Republican position that I found evasive when confronting the past and un-substantive when explaining how cutting spending without raising revenues can make 2 + 2 equal “5″ in the math, if anyone cares to look at it. As I have stated before in my earlier article (see Debt Ceiling) mathematical realities trump subjective politics. Never before in history has a nation gone to war without raising tax revenues to pay for it, or balanced a budget without raising revenues to pay down the debt. Yet, in the last decade we have seen a president (G.W. Bush) cut taxes whilst going to war and reform spending on medicine without paying for it, and, as cruel mathematical truth shows, you lose the Clinton surplus and drive the nation precipitously down into debt.

Duh…

Boehner needed to confront mathematics in his speech, especially because Obama laid out those issues. He sidesteps it at his and the GOP’s political future peril in the 2012 elections.

The GOP establishment is under the powerful influence of their Third Party coalition with the Tea Party revolutionaries. The movement that swept them back into power in the House of Representatives has the power to trump mathematics by ideology. I know many of my Tea Party readers are upset by what I say and I respect their sincerity, but the future is my expertise and I speak from that platform in these pages when I tell you that an ideological movement, not anchored to mathematics and rationality, does not have a future they desire waiting for them. Indeed, blind and irrational ideology is setting the stage for a far different future than politically desired if less zealously ideological heads and hearts do not prevail in the GOP caucus.

I was disappointed with both the President and the Speaker’s speeches last night. Both drew a political line of partisanship before the other. We are in a standoff, the nation held hostage by political posturing and an inability to compromise.

If I might channel last night from the mindset of a more enlightened humanity to come, the President and Speaker should have stood together before the national and international audience, like Lincoln and Douglas did in their famous debates. Both should have had transcripts of the others opening statements so they could prepare to answer each point in detail. The president would go first with his speech. Boehner would reply to each of his points. The president would then respond to the Speaker’s rebuttal, then the Speaker would have a final say.

In the second round of this foursquare debate, the speaker would make his speech explaining the GOP-Tea Party view. The president would rebut the points in detail; the speaker would have a chance to defend each point. Finally, the president would have the last say.

I tried to get professional debunker of all things paranormal and Nostradamian, James Randi, to act like a true skeptical inquirer and commit himself to such a foursquare debate. He always wiggled out of it.

Such a skeptical inquiry and debate, if it had been held last night before a worldwide audience, would present to the American people and the world at large a stable discussion of ideas, not slogans and partisan posturing. Each would be called to answer to such, and come clean with substance. I believe such a debate would restore American credibility in the end, even though this current debt-ceiling crisis has already seriously harmed our credit economically and Americans will see the consequences of this in the latter half of 2011 with higher interest rates.

We are now a week away from seeing the sole remaining military and economic superpower potentially default on his debts. The world nervously watches America in growing disbelief. I will have more to say about this as we approach the end of July. I already wrote extensively about this coming economic crisis of ideology over reality at the end of last year in Predictions for 2011.

The “last supper” in July is coming. The final Sabbath of July. Obama will break the unleavened bread and drink the bitter wine of buckling to pressure when he sits on 31 July in the crossfire between Tea Partiers and Republicans at his right hand and Democrats at his left hand.

Today is Tuesday.

Tuesday reminds me of Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday) livin’ large before an end of the next week Lent to the debt ceiling comes. I’m hungry. Let’s sandwich in Part Two of the Future of Food while we can afford to eat.

Here is Part Two of my interview with Ingrid Weithers-Barati on the Future of Food, published at the Raw Epicurean back on 22 September 2009:

IWB: Edgar Cayce was a vegetarian who advocated eating vegetables, fruits, nuts, and seeds, at least 1/3 of it raw [uncooked] in any diet type. Are there other prophets, past or present, that you are aware of, who embrace[d] a vegetarian/vegan dietary lifestyle?

JH: Well, I met a few like J. Krishnamurti or Yogi Bhajan and sat at the feet of one for many years, such as Osho, who were all vegetarians. Osho never considered himself a prophet but his predictions are quite stunning and far-reaching.

IWB: Any who embrace a raw food diet?

JH: Not that I’m aware of personally. (Isn’t it good that you can’t hear plants scream?)

Actually, I do feel them go through their own anguish when they are harvested. I experienced plant life’s silent scream working on a truck farm and as a lumberjack cutting down juniper trees in my youth. Now I like talking to plants and trees before I harvest them. I am reminded of the Zen master who used to be a woodcutter. He would walk through the forest and ask the trees which one was ready to come down. When he got the appropriate impressed “answer”, he took out his axe.

In the future, even Vegetarians, Vegans and Raw-fooders will become more meditative and commune with their plants before they slaughter them. They will feel the death as well as the life and the spirit of the food they harvest. You cannot know life without equally feeling death at the same time.

In the distant future, in the Age of Capricorn, human beings will transcend the food chain altogether and attain their nutrients direct from the sun.

IWB: Nostradamus‘ lifelong passions were writing and culinary delights. Edgar Cayce enjoyed photography, and I read he was a Sunday school teacher. What are your passions and hobbies?

JH: Running, f**king, eating good food, drinking good wine and aperitifs.

Dancing in a trance, sitting doing nothing (a luxury these days), singing, laughing, writing music, playing a cow in a musical or the wolf in Little Red Riding Hood (a Children’s Opera). Yesterday I crashed the Island County WA parade running in my blue shorts, tank top, and silver running shoes with bouncing green twinkle shamrock antennae clipped to my head. I ran a quarter mile ahead of the parade receiving the accolades of the waiting crowd, sometimes apologizing for budget cuts constituting my run as the parade this year. Laughter and joy was had by all as a crowning “clowning” warm-up for a wonderful parade.

Other loves?

Love, for one.

Then there is a love of all kinds of music. I write my [19] books and counting often listening to classical music, though I will listen to anything that captures what it is truly trying to convey, whether it is Wagner’s Ring or Nirvana’s Heart Shaped Box or Vangelis’ Antarctica or provocative CDs such as Enigma. I can start the day playing Van Morrison, Michael Jackson and end up with Alanis Morissette and Radiohead. I can dance to Grateful Dead and am a big fan of Dead can Dance.

Hobbies? I used to be a pretty good miniature ship builder of museum quality boats. I was once a master painter of miniature figurines. I also used to paint canvases in oils. I love how turpentine changes the smells and tastes of everything. Ever since 2005, I apply these painting talents to painting on bigger canvases called the interiors and exteriors of houses as a painter. (Writing is a calling. Anyone who thinks they will get rich being a freelance writer, might as well believe they can get rich being a schoolteacher. It is a passion and a calling to be a person of word craft with a message.

IWB: In your book, Nostradamus: A Life and Myth, there are many references throughout the book about one of his favorite passions — culinary delights. Tell us about his interest in the culinary arts and what type of food he loved to make.

JH: South French passions for Mediterranean cuisine go back more than a millennium as Nostradamus’ writings show. He had a passion for all kinds of foods, recipes for salads (liberal in their use of rose petals and wine). His chief culinary concern was the science of fruit preservatives. In this following passage from my biography on the prophet Nostradamus: A Life and Myth are examples of how this wandering apothecary, physician and Anthony Bourdain of the 16th century, had “no reservations” as a chef on a pilgrimage around France, Spain and Italy, gathering recipes that found themselves in his travelogue on the trail of medicine, cosmetics and food recipes:

We might follow a trail of bitter cherries left in passages of Traité des fardemens et confitures to mark some places passed. Nostradamus was obsessed with the sweet desires of the stomach — in particular, finding ever better ways to cook up fruit preserves of bitter black cherries of “the most delectable taste, which will keep for a long while.” In a rare moment of owning to where he had been, Nostradamus on the trail of the perfect black cherry jelly, says he had “seen it made in Toulouse, Bordeaux and [La] Rochelle.” Toulouse, the district seat of the Inquisition, seems an unlikely place to have been seen in 1539 [the year before they had "summoned" him for examination for questionable healing practices]. After Bordeaux he might have ridden north to La Rochelle, but another written extract could point his mule south, abandoning France altogether to hide out for an extended period among the black cherry confectioners and sweetmeat makers of Valencia, Spain:

I have often seen preserved things from Valencia, which were extraordinarily good … Their sugar is inferior [to] ours, but they are more skilled in the art of preservation. The same is true of their sweet meats in the manner in which they finish them, for when the sugar has been thoroughly absorbed and all bad and harmful moisture has been removed, they completely get rid of this sugar (which has become blackened through repeated boiling) and use a very beautiful one, which then makes the confectionery exceptionally attractive and excellent.

IWB: Did he have a favorite food recipe?

JH: Beyond black bitter cherries? It seemed he liked best whatever he was engaged in preserving, whether it as pumpkin sauce to cool fevers and have a very pleasant taste, or taking bitter oranges into a sugar preserve, or honey preserving walnuts, or making a concoction called “boiled wine.” He wrote about a green ginger recipe originating from Mecca, Saudi Arabia. His quince jelly preserve endorsed by the Papal Legate of Avignon made him famous. His tastes seemed to mix the bitter with the sweet, though he also advised readers how to make candies and marzipan.

Ingrid Weithers-Barati: What fruits or vegetables are your favorites, least favorite and why?

JH: I can’t eat much fruit as it makes me too acidic, but I do like bananas, strawberries and blackberries and red wines (grapes).

I do eat nearly all vegetables. My favorites are broccoli, red onions, garlic, and mushrooms. My least favorite: Okra from India. It used to be eggplant too but I do love the way Punjabis make it

IWB: What‘s the one thing about you few people know?

JH: Nice try. If I tell you, too many people will then know it. Let us keep that to the chosen few. A man of mystery is far more intriguing, is he not?

IWB: If you could be or do anything else what would that be?

JH: A full-time composer of music. I wish I had the time and the financial backing to compose and conduct the many symphonies, concertos, symphonic poems and songs that play with full instrumentation in my head. I fear that I will be the only one to enjoy them if life is not much longer than the next moment.

IWB: What one word would you use to describe yourself?

JH: No-knowing…

IWB: Where and what was your most memorable raw food meal?

JH: At the Conscious Life Expo [February 2009] in LA, I lived three times a day on the Vegan wraps of food vendors with a café in Redondo Beach. They are called Leaf Organics. Go there if you can. They are the Mecca of vegan wraps! Leaf Organics! Yumm!! They used big broad leafs like burrito wraps. I still don’t know exactly what they put in there to make it so good. Who thinks when the thoughts drop in the no-mind of munch?

IWB: What is the most amusing response you‘ve experienced or reaction you’ve received when you told someone you are a prophet scholar?

JH: I don’t remember. So, I guess it will have to be the next response-reaction.

IWB: Looking forward, do you see a growing interest in vegetarianism/veganism?

JH: Yes indeed. To use a plant metaphor, it will be “grass roots” in nature until the emergency of food sustainability coming in the next decade forces a lot of people to get off the agra-meat machine. Ecological stresses caused by such high waste farming will become unprofitable.

My favorite weekly paper milled news magazine came out of my P.O. Box 666 all black and white and red with hyperbloggic flying subtitles like How Ignorant are you? and They have found Atlantis? on the periphery of an airbrushed tidal wave behind the manic main title APOCALYPSE NOW: Tsunamis. Earthquakes. Nuclear Meltdowns. Revolutions. Economies on the Brink. What the #@%! Is Next?

I noticed another indication overlooked by Newsweek editors of the oncoming apocalypse in that title. Nostradamus foresaw one of its first warning signs to be a loss of learning and letters. The Newsweek copy editor’s computer did what mine does. When spelling “is” after an exclamation mark, the computer automatically capitalized “Is”. The editor in a decadent, fin de seicle lapse, left it capitalized.

I turn to page three to read what the new Editor-in-Chief named ??!#@%!?? has to say about the new edition. I cannot make out her signature. I mean, is her name Tina Brawn, Eva’s lost descendant, or is it Tuna Brawn, or Tina Brown…???

Whoever she is, she is also the Chief Editor of the e-zine The Daily Beast. She must be as advertised, an intrepid e-News blogger type. Her declining handwriting skills are a giveaway. Being solely on the computer keyboard day and night does to handwriting what wearing Darth Vader’s helmet and mask for 20 years did to Anakin Skywalker’s facial skin color and tone: make it pasty, slack and unrecognizable. Her handwriting is getting almost as unintelligible as mine.

Anyway, one sees “Tuna” (Tina?) in sketchy portrait all bled white like Anakin-cum-Vader. All the Newsweek in-house writers and editors must submit to this cartoonish portrait vogue next to their articles. They each look to me like variations of a white faced clown caught in a paparazzi camera flash semi-made up before painting red round cheeks and gluing on the bulbous red nose had happened. (Gad! I hope she, or Nial Ferguson, or the other staffers are succumbing to a guilty pleasure by reading Hogueprophecy.com today because this is my “embarrassing-portrait” intervention in print. Please lose the half-painted and powdered clown look. It’s indecent Bozo!)

So, along with Newsweek cover headlines like George H.W. Bush was not a wimp and Oprah Winfrey mending fences and Steven King on Can’t-Miss TV, the title of Tina (Tuna?) Brawn’s Notebook segment on page 3 contributed a less subtle alliteration like The Mayhem Mounts: Meltdowns, revolts and economic stress. Her intro had Rasputin-like resurrections of mad dog Gaddafi, asking, “has the world gone crazy” because of the onslaught of news?

All seriousness aside, the Tuna is onto something. History has sped up and it has got a Charlie “Sheen” about it. It is something HogueProphecy readers have been savvy about for years. You all know how bad it must be getting when the Cretaceous thunder-lizard corporate paper and dodo booby TV couch potato’s boob tuber news outlets actually blare out the stuff they usually ridicule us mammal bloggers and e-citizen journalists underfoot for saying. These are indeed apocalyptic times and they are going to continue to get more intense because apocalypse has gone mainstream in our lives.

Whoa there, reader!

How many of you think you know what the word apocalypse means? I doubt even Tina the Brown Tuna, Editor-in-Chief of Newsweek knows because like most news writers, when it comes to eschatalogical, end time themes, her journalism and etymology skills are put aside. Just say “Apocalypse” or “Nostradamus” to these people and they reach for their clichés about the new age and people with placards saying the end is near, blah blah… With shallow consistency, they uphold bromides and brush-offs usually supported by the even more shallow understanding of their smug audiences who passively let the news writers think for them as they patronize them.

Apocalypse is not what most of you habitually lull yourselves into thinking it is. So, when I say the apocalypse is going mainstream, at least understand fully what I mean.

…The taste and smell of fear experienced around the phenomenon of apocalypse originated with St. John of Patmos. In his essay, Apocalypse , D.H. Lawrence attributes to the Bible’s final prophet a “second-rate mind” that dirtied the meaning of apocalypse enough to make it the war cry for overzealous members of Christ’s flock. These hysterics forgive poor sinners today, secretly hoping they’ll get their own in spades on Judgment Day.

Despite St. John’s fear-mongering, he might be right in another sense. Perhaps there is a real catastrophe waiting for those unprepared to understand this word’s essential meaning. No one likes it when reality overturns one’s cup of dreams. No one can honestly say they’d gladly flash a revelatory torch inside the dark closet of their unconscious: before revelation’s light can dispel the darkness of unwanted fear and evil, it must first reveal the illusory stuff our dreams are made of.

The first time I had the pleasure of experiencing a performance of Ian McKellen in a role was back in the 1981 biographical film as D.H. Lawrence (1885-1930) entitled Priest of Love after one of the English writer's finest poems. I highly recommend viewing this movie, as it appears at last to be on DVD and Blue Ray. Here is a line from the poem, "I shall always be a priest of love and a glad one. Once you've known what love can do, there's no disappointment and no despair."

Perhaps the greatest dream is believing we are securely in control of our lives. And perhaps the revelation we fear most is discovering that security is a fairy tale.

St. John’s Sunday school nightmares aside, you don’t need to consult the [doomsday prophecy segment of this book] to get my future drift. The Judgment Day doesn’t need a God/Father figure or one more prophetic interpreter’s projection. It only needs a few too many CFCs leaking from the air conditioner, or just enough people to stand by and believe reductions of nuclear overkill can be called nuclear disarmament.

Judgment Day can be a secular phenomenon. It comes with just the right critical mass of denial to assure disasters have their day, whether God, the promise of heaven, or the nightmare of hell exist or not.

There is a prophetic train of thought that says we can’t get to the future from a present ruled by the motivation of the past ten thousand years. The next great age will only come for those who are ready to change, to drop those traditions of the dying Adamic Age which no longer work to keep the human race growing in consciousness. Tomorrow of Blessings — the second half of this book — takes a look at the minority future view. These prophecies indicate that in the eleventh hour an Apocalypse of Consciousness will preclude a global death.

Sooner or later, the mainstream news and the muddled mainstream minded masses will have to understand the deeper significance of our Apocalyptic times as a choice. Either between fulfilling a future of stupid, by habitually following the wrong understanding of Apocalypse; or, living and doing today what must be prepared and seeded to give birth to a future of revelation and enlightenment for the entire human race.

I will close today’s blog with a few visions of seers collected for Millennium Book of Prophecy. No matter if they are contemporary or ancient. Seen in this new Apocalyptically enlightened light these visions and predictions share in essence an understanding of the challenging times we have entered and the choice between two kinds of apocalypse we must make.

All manmade progress will be enlisted for destruction. However, the great fate will raise her hand in warning and will command to stop. If men will listen to the judicious ones among them and stop, it will be their advantage; if not, it will be their misfortune, and a great calamity will follow.

As promised, I will share with you some of the prophecies I quoted on my Coast to Coast AM appearance back on 27 January 2010 that point to a future civil war or revolution in America. Seers such as Chicago based Irene F. Hughes have pinpointed that we will have a new US Constitution drawn up sometime in the mid-2020s. She did not mention a revolution taking place before this and I certainly hope we can come to this refreshing of American democracy through a measured and intelligent national debate and peaceful protest, if need be. Otherwise if the people grow more and more angry as their leaders advise caution and non-toxic dialogue while not doing or accomplishing anything beyond platitudes and talk, then the following future scenario defined in by these prophets below may be waiting to set fire to the land in less than a decade.

I present these terrible visions like one must sometimes open a wound to the air, so the festering can be exposed and healed, vanishing from the body of destiny because of our healing actions committed in the present.

Inserted note from 02/19/10: My assessment of the above and additional prophecies published in the book since 1998 has not changed — even those assessments concerning Edgar Cayce and Orson Pratt’s prophecies, which come from 1994:

By the year 2026, the Constitution of the United States will be redrafted. The American system of democracy will be unrecognizable to that of the 1990s. But this will not be a negative change. Chicago psychic Irene Hughes predicts that man will live in greater trust and love of his fellow man at that time.

There will be an erosion and breakdown of the American Dream, says Edgar Cayce, when those who lead it proclaim their might and power as being right, when the leaders of this land have brought “many of the isles of the sea and many of the lands” under their influence. A second civil war will come at a time when America as the supreme superpower fears no man or devil. At that time Cayce warns, “in their own land [Americans] will see the blood flow as in those periods when brother fought against brother.” (#2976-24)

In 1939, Cayce gave his future countrymen an alternative to civil war when he warned that if all Americans of every class and color didn’t seek a “universal oneness of purpose” America would suffer a second revolution (#3976-25)…

In the 1870s, Orson Pratt, one of the early fathers of Mormonism, described the coming Balkanization of America would be a war pitting “neighborhood against neighborhood, city against city, town against town, state against state, and they will go forth destroying, and being destroyed. Manufacturing will almost cease, great cities will be left desolate.”

Revolution is unavoidable but it need not be violent. Cayce has expressed the key to unlock a future where bloodshed on the streets of America does not take place. Protest need not be violent to be effective. We have Gandhi’s and Nelson Mandela’s examples in India and South Africa as proof that revolution can be far reaching through peaceful and patient non-violent protest and dialogue.

It is one of the best documentaries of the last decade, though, as is Discovery Channel’s bias, they do tend to be one-sided skeptical in the second hour at times, getting away with saying things that I could have easily challenged, but was not given chance to challenge. One of these days, I hope to convince Discovery to give the sympathetic skeptics like myself the chance to retort sloppy and lazy skeptical inquiry.

This is a beautifully produced if somewhat content flawed two-hour study on the Mayan Calendar and how it relates, if at all, to the prophecies of Nostradamus and other prophetic traditions. Although they cut my skeptical take on the Lost Book of Nostradamus alluding to the Mayan Calendar purportedly ending in 2012, it is well worth watching for all the things they “did” allow me to say in the final cut, because they are far more immediate and significant to your near future.

George Noory and me spent three hours going over prophecies of astrologers, Nostradamus and myself in Predictions for 2010 in an attempt to anticipate a summer of upheaval, natural disasters leading to an autumn of economic crisis. I believe it will be one of the most important shows I’ve done for Coast to Coast since I first appeared with Art Bell in November 1994. We are going to have a preliminary taste this summer of the kind of cosmic forces that will define the coming decade of the 2010s. When faced with the coming Uranian storm of history, it would be good to share with you ways to cope, ways to turn it into a decade of transformation. I hope to do that on the show. Also, George and I talked about 2012 sharing my unique take on prophecy’s biggest fore-fad. We also looked at the significance of Ray Mabus, the new Obama Administration’s “Gulf Czar” summoned to clean up the mess down there. Is he Nostradamus’ third antichrist, code named “Mabus?”

The town of Bishop in central California, south-east of San Francisco, suffered a severe earthquake on 10 May 1936.

As has oft given, Jupiter and Uranus influences in the affairs of the world appear the strongest on or about October 15th to 20th….There may be expected…violent wind storms – two earthquakes, one in California and another in Japan – tidal waves following, one to the southern portion of the isles near Japan! Heavy storms slammed into the Kuril Islands near Japan on 14 and 15 October. Earthquakes hit Japan on 19 and 20 October. Three tremors shook California between 22 and 26 October 1926.

Cayce believed that major earth changes would rack the world until 1998. They would begin after 1958, when, he says:

The Earth will be broken up in the western portion of America…(1934: #3976-15) When there is the first breaking up of some conditions in the South Sea [South Pacific]…or in the Mediterranean, and the Etna area, then we may know it [the earth change] has begun. (1932: #311-8)

In 1964 Alaska suffered one of this century’s worst quakes. Mountains shifted an average of five feet. The sea floor rose fifty feet in some offshore areas. In 1963 the island of Bali in the South Pacific suffered a major quake, and a new volcano appeared off Java over the remains of Krakatoa. In 1960 Morocco had a quake that lifted the offshore Mediterranean seabed three thousand feet! Mt Etna erupted violently in 1959, rising twenty-five feet.

1963: The Assassination of John Kennedy

In 1952 Jeane Dixon stood in deep prayer before the statue of the Virgin Mary at St.Matthew’s Cathedral in Washington D.C. The astrologer and prophetess, already respected for predicting India’s independence and the death of President Roosevelt, was suddenly gripped by what would become one of history’s most well-known forecasts. She says she saw the dark church interior lit by the brilliant sun-soaked image of the U.S. White House with the shimmering numbers 1-9-6-0 hovering above it. Pulled like a magnet, her consciousness floated toward the main door, where a young man with striking blue eyes stood upon the threshold. An inner voice impressed upon her that this young man, a Democrat, would be elected President in 1960 and was destined to die violently while in office.
In 1956 she described her vision to Jack Anderson, the publisher of Parade Magazine, beginning what would become the most pre-documented prediction in history. Dixon’s further visions were reported to credible witnesses: one in October 1963 foresaw shadow hands representing death removing the Vice President’s name plate from his office door. Later she saw the letters o and s for the beginning and d for the end of the assassin’s name–(Os)Wal(d).

During November of 1963, Dixon’s friends noticed her increasing concern about her premonition of doom for the young president. She even tried to warn him through her White House contacts, but to no avail. On the 22nd, while lunching with friends at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, she suddenly became so distraught that she couldn’t touch her food. “Something dreadful is going to happen to the president today,” she declared.

Around that same moment, at a sixth-floor window of the school book depository in Dallas, Texas, Lee Harvey Oswald and perhaps several other assassins positioned around Dealy Plaza, were taking aim at President Kennedy’s motorcade.

Back at the Mayflower Hotel, Jeane Dixon and her friends were finishing lunch. The orchestra suddenly fell silent. The conductor announced that someone had just taken a shot at the President. Her friends tried to comfort her, saying that he must have avoided danger. “No” she replied, “the president is dead…you will learn that he is dead.”

1968–1969: Atlantis Resurfacing!

Evidences of this lost civilization are to be found in the Pyrenees and Morrocco on the one hand. British Honduras, Yucatân and America upon the other…especially, or notably, in Bimini and the Gulf Stream….

In 1968 a diving expedition was arranged to explore what seemed to be symmetrically-shaped stones off the island of Bimini. The divers discovered what appeared to be marble pillars. Also awaiting them in the turquoise Caribbean waters was a great road, or esplanade, fashioned out of giant blocks in the manner of Incan masonry. The formation disappeared and reappeared along the ocean floor for three thousand feet. Since then, towers, stairways, walls and even pyramids have been discovered around other Caribbean islands and on the sea floor beneath the Gulf Stream off the coast of the eastern United States.

April, 1912: The Sinking of the Titanic

One evening in 1897 Morgan Robertson, retired sailor and writer of short stories, began to unravel the mental knots of his all-day writer’s block. As he relaxed, he felt the familiar presence of what he called his “astral writing partner” take the helm and cast him adrift in an ocean of images. A vision for a new story coalesced through the imagined fog and icy waters of the North Atlantic. A great ocean liner on her maiden voyage, her three twisting screws pushing 75,000 tons at 25 knots, cleaved the chilled waters on a collision course with an iceberg!

Robertson saw the name Titan on her bow, and knew this 800-foot ocean liner would have nineteen watertight compartments, giving both passengers and crew the illusion that she was unsinkable. The folly of such a claim would reveal itself when, on slicing her bow against the unseen iceberg, Titan would sink and three-thousand of her passengers would drown because there were only twenty-four lifeboats.

Robertson set to writing The Wreck of the Titan, or Futility his fictional chronicle of the ultimate maritime disaster, which was to take place in the mid-Atlantic on a moonless April night. Fiction became reality fourteen years later. On her maiden voyage, the Titanic cut the icy waters of the North Atlantic off Newfoundland, her three propellers churning 66,000 tons at 23 knots toward an unseen iceberg. There were only twenty-two lifeboats aboard, since the 883-foot ocean liner was considered unsinkable. In spite of her designer’s arrogant claim, the collision with the iceberg had sliced open three of her sixteen watertight compartments–one too many to survive. The Titanic and a majority of her 2,224 passengers faced an icy death on the moonless night of 14 April 1912.

1 August 1914: World War I

When in the outskirts of the forest the iron road will be finished, and there the iron horse will be seen, a war will begin, to last for twice two years. It will be fought with iron fortresses that move without horses, and with powers that come from the earth and fall from the sky.

Stormberger (eighteenth century)

The day World War I began was pinpointed two centuries before it happened by a simple and reclusive cowherd in the Bavarian forests bordering Czechoslovakia. On 1 August 1914, a new railroad line between Kalteneck and Deggendorf (running on the edge of Stormberger’s forest) officially opened–the day the hostilities began. The war did last four years and saw the introduction of terrible new weapons such as mines from the earth, poison gas falling from the sky and tanks–iron fortresses that move.

1917: Rasputin and the Death of the Romanovs

Grigory Rasputin, mystic hypnotist, faith healer and womanizing monk, had great influence over the Czar and Czarina because of his miraculous cure of the young heir to the Russian throne, the hemophiliac Prince Alexi. As the year 1916 drew to a close, the “mad” monk sensed his own impending death. A prophecy made eleven years earlier, when he met the palm reader Count Louis Hamon, must have fed his own premonition. The English count, better known as “Cheiro,” was also a master hypnotist. After fighting an unsuccessful battle of hypnotic wills, Cheiro broke off, declaring that Rasputin would be poisoned, stabbed and shot. He also saw the monk being thrown into the icy waters of the Neva river and left beneath the ice to die.

In a letter written to the czarina in December of 1916, Rasputin predicted his own murder would take place before New Year’s Day 1917. He promised the czarina that her family would flourish if he was killed by peasants, but if he was killed by princes she and all her family would die within two years.

Around Christmas time, Rasputin was poisoned, shot and thrown beneath the ice of the Neva by Russian princes. Czar Nicholas II, the czarina and all their children were shot by Bolshevik guards on 16 July, little more that a year and a half after Rasputin’s murder.

1929: The Stock Market Crash

Right after this horrible war there will come a time when money will have no value. For 200 guilders not even a loaf of bread will be available, and yet there shall be no famine. Money will be made of iron, and gold shall become so valuable that for a few gold coins a small farm can be bought.

Stormbeger (eighteenth century)

After World war I, Germany experienced a catastrophic economic depression. For a time, the German mark was almost worthless, inspiring the more eccentric to paper their walls with bank notes. Stormberger had prophesied the use of baser metals for the minting of money and inflation two-hundred years before anyone had a clue about such things, let alone an eighteenth-century cowherd.

[He] will have a great amount of moneys to care for. In the adverse forces that will come then in 1929, care should be taken lest this, without the more discretion in small things, be taken from the entity.

Edgar Cayce

Though Edgar Cayce was known as the “sleeping prophet” for his habit of giving trance readings while reclining unconscious on a couch, most of his clients didn’t take his sage advice about the future lying down. Many fortunes were saved through his advice prior to the Stock Market Crash of 1929. He was also correct about the economy improving by 1933. That spring, a new president, Roosevelt, and a New Deal for the United States were inaugurated.
