This week NATO air strikes targeting Libyan dictator Muhammar Gaddafi’s command and control centers and other military assets accelerated to their highest intensity. Across Tripoli on Tuesday (7 June 2011), one heard over 60 explosions of NATO’s missile driven ordinance shot out of the sky. One witnessed the surreal sight of rush hour traffic nonchalantly driving to and fro down a sprawling Tripolitanian boulevard while not far beyond a wall of bleached white tenements and palms erupted one hammer falling explosive plume after another warhead piled on to craters out of targets within Gaddafi’s compound.

The following day a defiant Gaddafi resurfaced. Not on film and not sneaking into a press conference held at the international hotel where most Western and European journalist camp out, thus making it off limits for NATO attack. After the bombardment of Tuesday, Gaddafi, constantly now on the run, could only sneak out an audio taped message, that he would never leave Libya and would fight to the death. Like Osama (pronounced Usama) bin Laden, here will be yet another a terrorist leader in hiding, reduced to making audio taped messages before his hideout will be hit and perhaps soon.

There may be some prophetic parallels tying the death of Usama bin Laden to that coming for Gaddafi. The death of Osama refreshes a look at Nostradamus’ riddles about a “religion named after the oceans” and how that might tie the near future fate of Gaddafi to the recent death and burial of Usama bin Laden.

Here again is a quick review of the Nostradamus quatrains attributed to Gaddafi (You can read a full account in the following articles by clicking on Qaddafi, also Gaddafi and Khadafi:

Lines 1 and 3 give us Gaddafi’s background. He was a young colonel in charge of the coup d’etat that deposed King Idris of Libya in 1969. Gaddafi has been Libya’s dictator ever since because he moved against his prince, King Idris, on a false invention of an oath of loyalty to the throne.

Line 2 is a compound prophecy. Colonel Gaddafi did seize the greatest part of the officer corps and army who stood against Idris. The same is true in the current Libyan Civil War. Eastern Libya broke away, yet the dictator had made contingencies for such a split and ensured he retained control of most of the Libyan armed forces including their best military equipment and tanks. One need only see the Mad-Max, Road Warrior quality of the rag-tag forces of the rebels in their rusty trucks and cast off weapons to understand how carefully Gaddafi hoarded his military assets in case Libya’s ancient potential to divide between Tripolitanian (West) and Cyrenaican (Eastern) Libyans should require a bloody invasion of Eastern Libya. Before King Idris stepped down from his throne with the prod of an AK-47, he was compelled to rule a desert country with two capitals in Tripoli and Benghazi. Gaddafi put an end to that for 42 years. Now the historic divisions arise again. I predict the death of Gaddafi, and the scattering of his regime will do little to unite the country in this civil war’s bloody aftermath.

Line 4 gives up a glimpse of Gaddafi’s future. The French ramée is a riddle for branches or green bows, a green arbor that by extension can be a clue to Gaddafi’s favorite domicile, a green Bedouin tent supported by tent post “branches.” In an earlier blog (see Libyan rebels), I eluded to a possible last minute exile of Gaddafi to the green-bowered tropical habitat of Venezuela, under the protection of another Dictator, Hugo Chavez.

I am more inclined to prophesy Gaddafi’s “discovery” will be by the electronic eye of a NATO missile shot from 15,000 feet in the sky. Its shockwave at Mack 3 flinging open the green tent flap in a split second to “District 9” blood vaporize him into the next world. Perhaps the branch suspends the all-green flag of Gaddafi’s regime next to the place in which strongman dies under a falling burial mound of bunker debris.

The next quatrain in the light of the death of the Dean of al-Qaeda terrorism, Usama bin Laden, may link him to Gaddafi’s near future end. Nostradamus often threw in a seemingly unrelated theme in a prophecy as a dating backing up a verse’s main theme. For instance, in his famous King of Terror prophecy believed to date the 9/11 attacks of Usama bin Laden upon New York City’s “hollow mountains” of the World Trade Center (sometime between 1999-2001), Nostradamus throws in an unrelated line about the resurrection of the “Great Mongol.” He defines China with 16th-century poetic license. A future Chinese empire compared to that Middle Kingdom once ruled by Mongol Emperors Genghis and later Kublai Khan from the 13th century.

Indeed, China began emerging as a world power at the turn of the century, around the time of the 9-11 attacks on New York.

Seemingly unrelated data in prophecy framing time captures the event window of the Adaluncatif prophecy attributed to the future of Gaddafi:

In past interpretations I factored line 1 to be another outside event used to date the main theme. The new religion named after the oceans was that of “Osho” (meaning oceanic). When Ronald Reagan sent US 111-bomber jets to paste Gaddafi’s compound in early 1986, Osho was being thrown out of 21 countries by US-CIA pressure during his world tour. Moreover, Gaddafi’s half-destroyed bedroom became until recently a shrine to his survival from the US attack.

You may have seen Gaddafi make speeches standing at a podium before the shattered façade of his bedroom in the early stages of the current civil war, before it was pulverized. Photographs of his bedroom shrine showed it sealed by glass left untouched since March 1986. The blast dust and debris covered the bedspread. Behind the bed was a panoramic shot of a beach with limestone rocks sculpted by ocean breakers rolling out of an endless (oceanic?) horizon of sea.

No doubt followers of Osho believe and perhaps rightfully that their master’s teaching has overcome the poisoning of their master and persecution of his people during the Reagan Era.

Nostradamus might intend another possible solution to line 1′s riddle — one more contemporary. US Navy Seals raided and killed Usama bin Laden on 1 May 2011 in his fortress compound hideaway in Abbottabad, Pakistan, carrying the corpse via stealth helicopter over the Hindu Kush mountains to a US air base in Afghanistan. From there the cadaver was genetically identified and flown out over the Arabian Sea, transported to the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson where according to Islamic law it was bathed and wrapped in a white funerary shroud for burial at sea.

“The Religion named after the oceans will overcome,” says Nostradamus. Usama was buried in the ocean, by Christian-dominated US armed forces, that in other prophecies Nostradamus calls modern crusaders (just like Usama called them “crusaders”), after they invaded and occupied a region in the Middle East never occupied by Medieval Crusaders — Mesopotamia (modern day Iraq).

In other Nostradamus prophecies related to contemporary events in the war on terror, he alludes to Middle Eastern leaders fearing the military power coming from the sea or ocean as the source of downfall — death.

The Navy Seal raid was code named Operation Neptune’s Spear alluding the trident in the Navy Seal’s military emblem. The trident is the symbol of Neptune, God of the Oceans. It could be Nostradamus — ever in love with 16th-century word plays on classical metaphors — means us to identify the “religion named after the ocean” to be code cryptically describing the US Navy Seals in a double entendre, offering bin Laden’s body to Neptune like the ancients would have. Soldiers of Operation Neptune’s Spear metaphorically sacrificed Usama in sea burial as an offering to Neptune.

For this unique take on the riddle of line one to be correct, the last three lines describing the fate of someone code named Adaluncatif must see his downfall soon and also from, over flying from over, the sea.

The sect of the son of Adaluncatif is qualified as obstinate, deplored and made afraid by the “religion of the Ocean” (code for the Navy Seals) who will wound the two top leaders: Gaddafi and his son Saif al-Islam al-Gaddafi.

Adaluncatif is a phonetic spelling of Gaddafi as well as hiding the Latin word for Moon (Crescent of Islam): Luna.

Here is how you render the anagram:

Adaluncatif = Cad(t)afi Luna = Cadafi Luna.

Nostradamus’ law of anagramming drops the single redundant letter, in this case the t. The “C” resembles phonetically the Arabic “chhaah” or “Qaah” that Roman spelling often struggles to capture as Qaddafi, Khaddafi or Gaddafi, depending on what part of the Western ear registers as dominant for spelling.

Thus Cadafi Luna (Moon) stands for the lunar crescent, a symbol of Islam we see topping the domes of mosques.

Moon here representing “Islam” implies the son of Adaluncatif, Saif al-Islam (Sword of Islam), Gaddafi’s heir apparent. Saif notoriously declared a war of annihilation on Libyan television, broadcast all over the world, against any Libyan protesting his father’s regime. Saif tried to live up to his name, becoming the field commander sword point overseeing Pro-Gaddafi forces that massacred demonstrators and commanded efforts of the army and air force to first crush rebellion in the West while preparing an invasion to seize back the breakaway Libyan East centered around a new government in Benghazi.

The fanatic son Saif initiated a civil war raging since February 2011 and his atrocities generated worldwide distain for his father’s “obstinate and deplored sect”. Even the Arab League asked the United Nation to step in militarily against an Arab regime, which they did with US and NATO air strikes on Gaddafi and Saif’s armored columns just before they entered Benghazi to perhaps massacre hundreds of thousands.

Now the “sect” of the son of Gaddafi is in retreat from Eastern Libya and under constant bombardment in their stronghold of Tripoli. Now helicopter gun ships have begun coordinated attacks assisting the rebels in their advance on Gaddafi’s Western Libyan strongholds.

Saif al-Islam al Gaddafi. Is he the wounded A and A?

The son of Adaluncatif is dead, killed by a NATO missile strike of a command and control center on 30 April, one day before Usama bin Laden was killed.

“The two wounded A and A” may be a riddle for one fatally wounded man with a double name: Saif (a)l-Islam (a)l-Gaddafi; yet, the syntax is open ended enough to hint that only one of the two wounded is “A and A”. The other, Gaddafi, may be next, and the wound delivered from jets and helicopters flying from over the sea may be fatal and soon.

This brings me to the following Nostradamus quatrain that may describe the death of Gaddafi in our near future:

The dart from the sky will make its extension,
Deaths in speaking: Great execution:

Although the translation has license to use gent as nation the literal translation is people. When Nostradamus writes, “the people” or “the city” or “the nation” etc., he is usually speaking of future events that directly affect the “French” people, the “French” city (Paris), or the “French” nation. Nostradamus best sees the future through his French eyes, his French conditioning and how it directly affects future French people.

Osama sacrificed to Neptune.

The French under President Nicolas Sarcozy have been the most bellicose of the NATO allies in prosecuting an air war against Gaddafi’s military assets. From the start, French air forces have openly targeted Libyan command and control targets as ruthlessly as they can in the hopes of killing the assumptive heir and the dictator of Libya. I predict it will be revealed in the future that Sarcozy’s French military policy in Libya is decapitation of the Gaddafi regime. He intends — and he will succeed — in launching a dart or “missile” from the sky that will cause the great execution of Gaddafi in mid speech (deaths in speaking). He will start a sentence he will not complete as a French missile takes him out.

It may be an interesting coincidence only. The quatrain’s indexing (70) is a near miss for the year 1969 when Gaddafi overthrew King Idris of Libya.

A Post Prediction Statement

It might represent the Syrian boy named al-Qatif, whose torture and death by Syrian soldiers intensified public protest across that tyrannized land. From the letter’s I’m getting since I posted the great GOP Prophet “Horton” on 19 September, most of you enjoyed the biblical romp and thought it funny. And even though you’ll find in my satire that I equally and playfully savaged my politically Left, Right and my extreme Right Wing readers, one grumpy group of mostly Caucasian men and women, forty-something and older, were quite p. o-ed. Nearly all those who took offense or hated my satire belong to the Tea Party movement. What follows is my answer to Georgia’s critique and her Tea Party Prophecy. (Please note that I have left her punctuation mistakes and misspellings as they are. That seems to be another common problem with most of my Tea Party commentators. They don’t correct their mistakes… English mistakes, I mean.)

GEORGIA
Good Lord, I have never read such drivel in ny life as your take on “donkeycrats” and “pink elephants” ad nauseum. And I do enjoy satire as well as recognize what it is but your dissertations went far beyond reason and ended up being thrown in the trash bin by me.

HOGUE
Correction. You seem to enjoy satire as long as it isn’t clowning around with your cherished political and religious point of view.

GEORGIA
I think you enjoy throwing around linguistic acrobatics as i have accused you of before.

HOGUE
I do. I had a great time writing it. And I have had a good and healthy laugh at myself every time I read it.

I have a sense of humor.

A lot of you who are into prophecy are a very anal and serious lot. Seriousness is a sickness often misinterpreted as sincerity. Sincerity is a gravitas that can laugh.

GEORGIA
So stop trying so hard to impress us with your VAST vocabulary. You sound silly I realize you are very intelligent (true) and exceptionally good at prognosis so don’t think I am dissing you.

HOGUE
I intended to sound silly. I’m not afraid to show my vulnerability, my silliness. I am not a serious man. Moreover, if you can recognize my exceptionally good prognosis of future trends, just remember that it is my capacity to be silly and non-serious that makes that possible. I aim to be remembered as a wise old clown.

Having thoroughly spanked you I wish to give my own prognostication:

I think what Georgia is saying is significant, even if she may be unaware of what she’s exposed. Here it is:

THE GREAT TEA PARTY PROGNOSTICATION OF “GEORGIA”

The tea party is going to effect a rout this November, and probably will kick out most all if not all incumbents and then embark on a crusade to investigate Obama and his nefarious schemes and his entire administration of crooks and I would not be surprised if they impeach him for high crimes and misdemeanors for refusing to secure our borders among many other crimes. What is coming is not merely a political earthquake — its going to be outright anihilation and wipe out from the bottom up to the inside out Its going to “fundamentally transform America” back into w3hat it REALLY WAS AND IS SUPPOSED TO BE and most assuredly NOT what Obama has arrogantly thought he could so. What a fool he is. He certainly does not know the Amercan people because not only is he not going to do what he set out to do, what he tried to do is going to be his demise.

Dear readers, stare into the face of the kind of hysterical and amassing anger that is indeed on the march. American fascism looks like this, writes like this, threatens like this. Look what my satire has exposed for you to see? Humor has the power to expose a humorless and hateful mindset.

My goal by writing my last blog of puns is accomplished. It has helped expose the political savagery that may lead to a mandate this November of manic and irrational anger, full of its own sweeping slogans and fury signifying no practical solutions, overtaking the House and the Senate.

Take Georgia sincerely. She is giving honest voice here to what many in the Tea Party movement authentically feel and intend to accomplish: a tear-it-all-down mentality with little thought to the aftermath or consequences. The movement is being overtaken by a real sense of collective anger. The anger of the mob.

I say they are right to be angry about how the leadership in Washington from White House to Capitol Building is getting farther out of touch with the problems of regular citizens. The danger is ever present that rightful public anger can be directed by cynical forces into a mob to affect a destructive outcome. It’s like the anger we saw in the 1960s during the civil rights struggle when enraged people in the ghettos rioted against perceived and authentic injustices only to burn down their own neighborhoods in a mass, mindless catharsis.

Washington DC has become a ghetto, impoverished by partisanship. You can throw the bums out, but what do you put in their place? An angry mob of legislators is still a mob. You can riot in the inner city of our political discourse but what do you do with the burned out hole the day after the Watts riot in Wattsington DC?

Irrationally angry people power taking over Congress and its committees could bring back McCarthyism — this time a grass roots Aquarian Age version of a political witch hunt. A new Tea Party dominant Congress may have more than one Senator McCarthy setting up a committee to expose un-American activities in a new purge of public servants and citizens.

“We’ll take our country back!” Sarah Palin and Glen Beck pronounce often, fists clenched, banging podium or TV anchor’s desk with a virulence directed against any civil opposition to their view of what is American being some kind of disease that needs elimination from the public discourse. Georgia in her prophecy elaborated in strident upper case that the Tea Party will, “‘fundamentally transform America’ back into what it REALLY WAS AND IS SUPPOSED TO BE.” More than implying with her threats of impeachment of Obama that it most assuredly will NOT include a large portion of Americans who support his policies. The opposition will not merely be voted out. He, and they will be impeached.

“Its going to be outright annihilation!” enthuses Georgia, “[A] wipe out from the bottom up to the inside out.”

This future could happen.

First Obama is branded Socialist, but it won't end there. Next will be George Washington. After that, you perhaps, if you are not uber-American enough?

If you want it to happen, march in goose step to your ballot box with her and take back the House and Senate in November. Give the American Flag the old Boy Scout salute and cry in rhythmic chants “Hail Victory! Hail Victory!” at your American flag draped party rallies in stadiums teaming with serried ranks of true Americans.

America has Awakened!

Now let’s get to business. Purge Washington of all the sub-Americans.

Do you think it will stop in Washington, my readers?

Do you want to prevent that future?

It will take another movement. One that finds a more measured way to put your above-it-all passive-aggressive president, lobby-bought-off Congress and their two-party duopoly in their places — serving you and not the special interests of big money. Otherwise, hysterical anger will overtake the body politic of America and be used ultimately as a destructive force. In the name of constitutional reform the corporate class will use your amassed anger to destroy those things in the government and the constitution that inhibit their ambition which is to turn this North America nation into a South American CEOlygarcy.

Georgia, your prophecy, if fulfilled, will have an unintended consequence: Your anger will be exploited to make America even less recognizable to you than it is now. America won’t be taken back, it will be taken away from you.

People are rightfully angry. Big governments, big banks and corporate handlers who hold their leashes have had their bailouts, kept their jobs, been rewarded record breaking bonuses for bringing on the worst recession since the 1930s. They still have their heath care. Their homes. Their 41Ks.

What about most of you? Are “you” out of the recession yet?

Not me.

People with politically Left, Right or Centrist views are growing more desperate. They don’t have a lot of options. And those corporatists who are bankrolling a lot of the Tea Party candidates are ensnaring these mostly good people into another system of control. These big money folks are riding atop your rightful collective anger but they are spurring and whipping you hard to charge hell for leather into the mouth of a political future that is extreme and ultimately fascist.

The big money boys want to use the Tea Party not to reform government but skin it alive. They want to use your vote of anger as a destructive force to establish their dominion in government’s place.

Over the decades I’ve offered a view quite unpopular in free market worshiping America fighting an economic and political struggle against communism during the Cold War. Democracy is not a friend of big business. Fascism or a capitalistically tolerant Communism is. The economic explosion of growth in China vindicates this view.

Look at China. Look at their booming economy under a Communist totalitarian regime. The good Tea Party people are being used by those in a cynical CEOlygarcy to deconstruct American democracy for their own profit, not yours.

Democracy by its nature is too citizen motivated. It has watchdogs. It has dissenting views requiring compromises. It can if it chooses to do so reform banks, break up anti-trust monopolies.

The big money men in Germany during the early 1930s pulled political strings to make Adolf Hitler Chancellor of Germany in a coalition government. When he used that post to launch his dictatorship, German economists got filthy rich putting Hitler’s Third Reich back to work to prepare for a Second World War.

With that said, the consciousness of CEOs and what they supply can be changed by what the people dictate with their demands.

Who builds their empires but you? Who buys their products but you? You have this power over them. You need to claim it, use it; otherwise, in the void of your unintelligent, unengaged behavior — filling the gulf of your unconscious habit to be manipulated and accept disempowerment — is the darkly motivated members of the CEOlygarcy who dictate to you what they will supply and tell you what you will demand in your products, your lives, your government.

If you no longer buy what they’re selling, they’ll have to change their mindset to stay in business. If you demand a better world, they will have to supply it.

That is why the people of America need to withdraw from balancing on the sharp edged extremes of the political left and the right to find common ground and common shared purpose. Stray on the sharp extremes too long and see yourselves sliced deeper into division and painful political dismemberment. To assuage this pain, you might do what the Germans did in the 1930s. You too may seek a dictatorial solution to national disorder.

A third party movement is absolutely needed to break “PolitiCorp” CEO control of the Democrat-Republican Party duopoly overlording and dividing political concord in the United States. It’s not the current Tea Party. That’s only a shaky start of this ultimately positive process.

I foresee a Party of Americans that seeks to look beyond their differences and find shared purpose and values — thus acting on these, finding a happy balance between individual freedom and community needs. Only such a Third Party movement has a chance to avert America’s flirtation with fascism.

I remember seeing this painting in a head shop back in the late 1960s or early 1970s. His satire illustrating a world gone naked, famine-ridden, impoverished, overcrowding the continents compelled me to think about the dangers of overpopulation when I was in my teens.

We can gauge to what extent we are fulfilling prophecies of humanity passing into a period of collective madness when a fundamentally right message is surrendered to and promoted by all the wrong, unbalanced people. As I write this James Lee, a frequent protester seen in front of the Maryland/Washington DC offices of Discovery Channel since 2008, today escalated his protest into a deadly hostage situation by storming the building with a gun and what appeared to be pipe bombs strapped to his torso.

Thanks to Internet access, the whole world watched and millions read Lee’s on-computer screen manifesto. In the last four hours he was alive, TV networks across the world filmed his web site and screen shot his message about saving the world and restoring its ecological balance. For a brief moment the whole world was watching and listening.

In Predictions for 2010, I warned the following would begin happening this year:

Be also advised of a new wild card in prophecy emerging around the world in earnest in 2010: an escalation of effective and often violent eco-terrorism.

James Lee is such an effective terrorist. A handgun, a satchel of suspicious containers and network cameras forced many of you to read the following extracts from his cry of help.

“The world needs TV shows that DEVELOP solutions to the problems that humans are causing, not stupefy the people into destroying the world. Not encouraging them to breed more environmentally harmful humans…

“You MUST KNOW the human population is behind all the pollution and problems in the world, and YET you encourage the exact opposite instead of discouraging human growth and procreation. Surely you MUST ALREADY KNOW this!”

This sick and desperate man violently brought the whole world’s attention to the essential cause of humanity’s future unsustainability: our inability to moderate our growing numbers which are soon to clear 7 billion resource-consuming and pollution creating souls overtaxing the planetary ecosystem. Lee gave violent voice to the source of Nostradamus’ grim warnings of an oncoming global famine in our future.

The threat of overpopulation is one of the hardest messages to get through to people who are for the most part under the biologically hypnotic drive to procreate. I had taken up this message 20 years ago and altered my life to back my words with action. What James Lee did was insane. He snapped and was perhaps appropriately gunned down. I have chosen to spread this message about birth control with hopefully a more meditative and sober approach.

Although this eco-terrorist criticizes Discovery Channel for not saying enough about the problem of Overpopulation, I would like to come to Discovery Channel’s defense and remind people that Discovery and its affiliates have been at the forefront of educating people with their “Planet Green” shows or brilliant documentaries about the coming ecological crises and needed solutions. I am grateful also that Discovery on occasion has allowed the broadcast of even a prophetic angle on this matter. I recall that in the recent Discovery documentary Nostradamus Decoded, I was allowed to discuss prophecies clearly forecasting an oncoming, unsustainable future if we do not control human population growth.

Discovery Channel IS putting this message out.

Mr. Lee’s rash act today has only snuffed out his life. As soon as his body hit the Discovery Channel office floor, the media cut the live feed and television illumination of his message was also cut, fading to black. Now there lies only the sad remains of a message: a deranged gunman is the only thing left to talk about.

The subject of human overpopulation can hopefully return now to more level headed men and women without the stigma of terrorism overshadowing it.

I began tackling the subject over 20 years ago when I updated the prophetic metaphor of St. John of Patmos‘ Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. I created a new allegory suitable for modern times.

What follows is the short chapter about the trailblazing first of Four Hellriders. The essay was inspired by a choice made in 1990 and was published in 1994 in the Millennium Book of Prophecy.

The electric current in the surgical lamp at the Usha Nursing Home quivered ever so slightly, betraying the fact that this remarkable modern surgery room was situated somewhere in the energy-starved Third World. The twitching electrical glare displayed my fillet of testicle to the competent doctor. With the right apron string to biology and future children cut and the other about to go, the patient laying back on the operating table chose this moment to speak:

“Doctor?” I said with mock severity. “Doc!”

“Yes? Are you feeling any pain?”

“Doctor,” I pressed, not answering his question and putting on my best tone of concern, “You’ve got to tell me the truth — will I ever be able to play the violin again?”

The doctor and his nurse chuckled as they stitched and stanched and cut me loose from fatherhood. For a few weeks my testicles would have lingering pains of some form of primal biological mourning as they got acquainted with life without the ability to inject others with the needed spice for a womb’s brew of life.

I hobbled down the hospital hallway and stepped into the street.

A gritty, burned-out evening (typical of urban India) reeking of diesel exhaust, dung, and the spice of toasted banyan leaves, greeted me in the narrow, backed-up roads. My beloved Nadine [Satgyan] held my hand as we brushed aside a gaggle of street urchins whining for baksheesh (alms). We skirted through throngs of beggars at last reaching a cluster of rickshaws — those three-wheeled black and yellow beetles of the South Asian streets, nearly as numerous as that evening’s mosquitoes. Nadine tucked me inside the revving and coughing metal carapace, which drove this bruised-balled though biologically liberated author back to his hotel room.

Life is hard in the land of exploding birthrates. I had made friends with an earlier generation of street urchins on my first visit to India, ten years before I was sterilized. To my question, “What do you want out of life?” I was surprised to hear them say they wanted to get married and have children. Nine years and nearly two hundred million Indian babies later, I was seeing the effect of their pubescent desires as the rickshaw careened through an ocean of people trudging along under India’s dim and flickering street lights.

I cupped my bruised jewels to protect them; too many potholes break the suspension springs of rickshaws weaving through too many crowds, who do their best to uphold a democracy that suffers too many crushing debts to too many affluent (and sparsely populated) Western nations.

I rode home, glad that in a world becoming ever more crowded with suffering children destined to multiply the suffering, no child will enter this misery of scarce clean water, little food, little education and a lot of disease through my chance biological injections. Though I respect an individual’s choice to have children, I hold the conviction — and seal it with a surgeon’s scalpel — that at this time in history, there are already too many kids to love and too little love to give.

A famine of many dimensions exists. The majority of Earth’s children are starving from lack of love at a time when there is no lack of wombs being impregnated. And the logical conclusion was anticipated over four centuries ago. The prophet Nostradamus forewarns us of the result of overpropagation:

The great famine which I sense approaching will often turn [up] in various areas then become worldwide. It will be so vast and long lasting that they will grab roots from the trees and children from the breast.

This prophecy, made in the mid-sixteenth century, was number 67 in the first volume of his prophetic masterpiece, Les Propheties. In my first book, Nostradamus and the Millennium, I introduced a new theory that Nostradamus might have hidden some of his future dates within the numerical indexing of his over one thousand quatrains.

With this predilection to hide dates in the stanzas, the French seer might have intended quatrain 67 of Century 1 as the year 1967 inaugurating a future global famine. According to the Worldwatch Institute, the year 1967 did see grain production in Africa begin its current and disastrous decline, as well as one million Africans starve to death in the Biafran famine. Since then the world has seen an upsurge of hunger in various areas of Africa and Asia, where accelerating birthrates run mostly unchecked. Too many new consumers of food, fuel, and water devour steadily-decreasing harvests. The World Health Organization (WHO) declared in 1987 that with the birth of the five billionth child, we had already sewed our seed beyond the limit where Earth’s fragile ecosystem will not avoid reaping some degree of dire consequences in the early twenty-first century.

One can already hear the hoofbeats of Overpopulation, the First Hellrider of Doomsday. She personifies our uncontrollable urge to multiply human want and hunger to the point of disaster.

Three children are born every second, making a total of two hundred and fifty thousand new arrivals each day. The momentum of our rapid growth will add another billion mouths to feed and throats to quench between 1991 and 2001. That’s the equivalent of adding an extra China every twelve years. By the turn of the century global population will increase by a hundred million a year. The next billion will be added in eleven years (2011), the next in less than ten years (2020). By 2030, China by itself will require all the current grain exports of the world. By 2025, we will have to build a nuclear power plant every week to keep up with the energy demands of nearly a dozen billion people!

Our birthrate bullet train is heading for a wall called unsustainable food production. This is the point in our near future when an avalanche of new polluters exhaust our dwindling farmland until we cannot sustain even the illusion of nutritional subsistence for half the human race.

A few Third World governments who share the greatest burden of excessive propagation have begun national family planning campaigns, but even the hopeful signs of a slowing birthrate in countries like China and India may be little more than sparks flying off our brakes as our acceleration headlong into a collision with agricultural collapse seems unstoppable. The UN World Food Council in its 1988 report has all but admitted our defeat in the war against hunger and malnutrition. America, the breadbasket of the world, holds the key to sustainable food production and spreading the message of population awareness. The United States led the world in funding an international campaign for family planning until most financial support was withdrawn in 1987. If the program does not resume, many UN globe watchers think stabilization between the death rate and birth rate is not possible for the next hundred years.

By overpopulating their range, human beings create more demand on a dwindling supply; the equation for a future apocalypse by famine. America has seen its global exports of grain and other food staples drop steadily into the red since the late 1980s. If droughts continue to reduce the river of American grain to a trickle, the first decade of the next century could see the nightmare of Ethiopia played out across most of the nations of the developing world who depend on American exports. Food riots could be common in major cities like Cairo, Lagos, Caracas and even Tokyo and St. Petersburg, since they rely almost exclusively on the farmers of America for their daily bread.

The Hellrider of Overpopulation is the undisputed trailblazer for a tomorrow that will be terrifying because humankind is afraid to change its gestalt from being a pack of competing nationals to a confederation of sharing inter-nationals. Following right behind Overpopulation’s hoofs are the Hellriders of Earth Trauma, The Lemming Syndrome, and the Third World’s War.

Humankind has put off facing the many various symptoms of global hyperextension for so long that if any one catastrophic incident foretold by prophecy were fulfilled, it could trigger a domino effect of cascading crises that could overwhelm all the good efforts and newfound awareness of the need for global maintenance arising in the final decade of the twentieth century. What would happen if Los Angeles and Tokyo were devastated by earthquakes, as most seismologists expect to happen sometime in the next thirty years? The loss of Tokyo or LA alone is enough to bring on a severe financial depression. All progress in paying off the global deficit or financing a worldwide crusade against overpopulation could be lost in a few seconds of seismic catharsis. Skyrocketing food exports costs would climb out of reach of starving nations with little capital and a lot of debt. Famines would erupt throughout the Second and Third World, sending millions of refugees over sensitive borders. Regional and ethnic conflicts would increase, but with a new and frightening twist: many of these wars will be fought by developing nations with a new-found chemical and nuclear weapons capability.

American grain not only sustains the developing world but also the Second World, or former Communist bloc. What if American grain reserves ran out and all wheat and corn exports to Russia ceased? The second Russian revolution might fail if the new democrats or totalitarians to follow cannot forestall chronic crop failure and food shortages.

Rapid population growth is the chief source of food insecurity and social instability. The current lack of commitment by today’s political leaders of the early 1990s to pool together and fight an all-out war against overpopulation could still bring on the Third World War by the mid-to-late 1990s, or later in the first decades of the twenty-first century.

Reading this chapter again after so many years gone by, I am struck by how its points have become more topical to our present times and near future. If you want to read more about the other Hellirders of the Apocalypse, each has their full chapter in The Millennium Book of Prophecy. This book looks at 777 prophecies from over 200 sources, ancient and modern. It is split into two halves. In the first half I use a preponderance of collectively shared visions to argue how doomsday is unavoidable. In the second half I used collective prophecy to contradict this premise. Indeed, we do have a choice and a better future forecasted — often by the same prophets. There is a choice. From doomsday we can change the future to a “blooms”-day, the flowering of a golden age. This message does not need a gun, it needs understanding, compassion and love to be heard and acted upon.

Hi, did you miss me? It has been awhile since I could bang out a blog for you. I have had to add nurse to my many Herculean labors. My 81.9-year-old mother fell ill the very day I finished my seven-week marathon conceiving, writing and producing Predictions for 2010. Seven weeks of 15-hour days notwithstanding, I had to Gurdjieff-girdle my loins, sizable adrenal pools of energy and subtle-body soul resources to take Mom to the hospital whilst running my seven ring circus and become her nurse in the recovery phase when she returned home a week later.

She is a former MGM dancer. Some of her dancing partners (if you are still hoofing it) might remember her by her maiden name, Irene Hall. The rest of you might have seen her frolicking with Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers in the Barkleys of Broadway (1949) or swimming in the famous water ballet of Esther Williams in Neptune’s Daughter (1949). If you are a real MGM musical fanatic, you might have the CD version of the latter and see my mother dancing to the wild and restored Coogat South American band number. She’s the cherry blonde goddess sliding on the glossy dance floor into the camera screaming deliciously.

It is a good thing she did all that dancing and swimming, because with two new stints in her heart — a great heart that will have spun 82 times around the sun’s orbital dancing circle on 2 January 2010 — is in pretty good condition and she is recovering rapidly.

THE ACCURACY THE LAST ALMANAC

As a Preface for the New Year

Although the temporal window for the Predictions for 2009 is half way through its final month, I am struck by the accuracy it has achieved. Near-100 percent accuracy on the world weather and climate change predictions. Many long-shot forecasts happened, such as the picking of an African American as the head of the very Caucasian-uploaded Republican Party. The US unemployment numbers above 10 percent for the end of 2009. The book fore-chronicled Obama’s positive few steps forward in foreign policy and his many steps backwards on a number of his economic and domestic experiments. My oracle in December 2008 saw him diplomatically rethink his economic strategies in December 2009 — as it turns out he is doing with plans for a new stimulus program the oracle had predicted. The strain of his change agenda not sprouting in tangible “do” was all carefully detailed before he was sworn into office. And yet, the promise of greatness, as I predicted, flickers yet and may alight in the future.

Sound outrageously impossible? You do not want to fondly recall Abraham Lincoln’s first year in office. It was a disaster. Far worse for what promises where not fulfilled (such as keeping the union together) than anything proffered and floundering in President Obama’s campaign wooing wish list seducing the American people. Yet, Lincoln eventually prevailed and now we think of him as one of the great presidents. Watch for Obama doing the same, with time

Those of you who have read Predictions for 2009 know it anticipated many surprising things, such as China’s economic Great Wall strategy, the rise of citizens in America and many other countries moving together to find solutions and jump start a green industrial revolution while governments stagnate, pontificate and ponder-pundit. The Obama administration mused on shovel-unready national recovery programs that the book foresaw were dead in the backhoe bucket before they were even legislated. Domestically grown jihadist terrorism did strike in November 2009 with Major Hasan’s shooting spree massacre at Fort Hood, Texas — small-scale with guns, not hijacked planes, as foreseen.

When I review Predictions for 2009 against the newly released Predictions for 2010, I experience them as two books in one. The first sets up many of the themes further evolving in the coming new year of 2010.

Taiwan's future flag.

President Obama on his first and epic diplomatic tour of Asia visiting Japan, China, attending a regional summit in Singapore and making final hop to South Korea at last restores the US on a path of engagement with the Western Pacific nations, long neglected by President Bush’s eight years of foreign policy myopia and obsession with Iraq. Whether Obama will gain more than a glad-handing and cup cake man handling by Chinese and Japanese remains to be seen. I will say this from the prophetic angle, Obama’s Asian odyssey will go down as an event marking an important shift in US foreign policy that will, for better or worse, bring the nation’s focus out of the Middle East and onto the region where the real future challenges lie: the western Pacific rim. It is a major theme in my upcoming digital book Predictions for 2010, which will be posted at HogueProphecy.com on 1 December.

I love to be wrong sometimes, don’t you? I especially like to be wrong when prophecy’s potential forecasts a possible future that we dare not take and didn’t. I wrote and posted the article below only to my private newsletter list members back on 22 February 2008. At that time I harbored hope that Taiwan would step back from what was a real temptation of its politicians to declare independence from China right when the whole world would be watching the 2008 Beijing Olympics a half-year later.

Reading the article “The Wad to End all Wars” today may shine a light on an interpreter’s hits, hopes and misses. I believe the predictions take on more significance now, as Obama on Air Force One flies back to Washington from Asia. Also, there’s this little song at the end I invite you to sing along with me.

A root motivation for warfare goes all the way back to its primal beginnings when ballistics were comprised of stones and sharpened sticks. People go to war to conquer and control economic resources. That is about to change, and it begins in this pivotal year of 2008. With 2008, we enter a new era when economic need will impede future wars, rather than instigate them.

In a new global society, economy has been freed of the constraints of national identity and political borders. The new year will test my prediction in the most potentially dangerous way. As far back as 1994, I have recorded on radio and television my concern about the potential of a Sino-Taiwanese war.

The mainland communist regime, the People’s Republic of China (PRC), ever since its inception in 1949, has laid claim to the province of Taiwan on the Island of Formosa, separated by the 80-mile-wide Strait of Formosa. It became a haven for what remained of Chiang Kai-shek’s KMT (Kuomintang) nationalist army and government, which Mao’s peasant armies had pushed off Mainland China in 1949 after decades of civil war. During the Cold War, Chiang fortified the island with US help and declared it the only legitimate Chinese regime: the Republic of China (ROC). His dream was to stretch out from Taiwan and take China back from the communists.

Over time the US and United Nations had to see political realities rather than this fiction and by the mid 1970s, the PRC was invited to take a permanent seat at the UN Security Council as the recognized Mainland Chinese state. Geriatrics and generational changes brought a slow eclipse of Nationalist Chinese control over Taiwan and it became more independently Taiwanese in national and political identity.

On 30 September 2007, Taiwan’s ruling Democratic Progressive Party approved a resolution professing separate identity from China and called for the enactment of a new constitution for a “normal country,” called “Taiwan.”

In 2008, a popular desire among the Taiwanese for official independence from China will prompt President Chen to make the 2008 presidential election a referendum on whether Taiwan should enter the United Nations as a separate nation.

The PRC has been dead set against it, or any other step that would formalize a break of what they view as a Chinese union of provinces by what they consider a secessionist, illegal government.

The temptation this summer will be high among leaders of the Taipei government to declare independence from China during the upcoming Beijing Olympics in August 2008. Would Beijing make good its threat to take Taiwan back by force with the whole world represented at the Olympics, watching?

A greater obstacle than losing international face is at stake.

Today, if China threatened an invasion across the Strait of Formosa, it would disrupt $80 billion dollars of business it does with Taiwan annually. Conversely, Taiwan listening to its fire-breathing secessionists would most certainly suffer a Beijing boycott before battle and invasion that might cripple Taipei’s economy overnight. In our times of global economic interconnectivity, if you bomb your enemy’s factory you destroy your own goods. If the US should go to war with China over Taiwan, it would be attacking its own sweatshops making merchandise. If China struck out at the US, it would be killing its customers. Big war in the old sense has become unprofitable. Thus, the opportunity for an era of intelligent diplomacy has never been in greater demand than in this new century.

Crying uncle, Taiwan might be amendable to a diplomatic solution offered by the next US president. I call it the “Time Out” plan. Taiwan would agree to full restoration to China after a cooling off period of 80 years. Perhaps that would be more than enough time for its free market economic philosophy to undermine the communist regime in Beijing. The pen signing business transactions is mightier than the sword. It will be the wad of money and the mutually profitable promise of commerce that breaks down all borders and ends all future wars

Who knows? Perhaps the new lyrics I wrote to Stephen Foster’s “Camp Town Races” might apply to what happens next:

The Chinese people sing this song:
Buddha! Buddha!
The Chinese race is a billion strong
Oh, the Buddha Day!
Goin’ communistic all night,

UPDATE (circa December 2009):
The fire-breathing Taiwanese politicians did put a cork in independence referendums, thank goodness, though the danger of a mainland invasion of Taiwan remains quite real.

Now a new prophecy about Taiwan. The new US administration has arrived. When I wrote the above I visualized Hillary Clinton teamed up with Obama. Moreover, I saw her going to China and Taiwan to arrange something like the solution described above. What I didn’t clearly see was the label she would wear. Not a president or vice president but apparently the vision of the negotiator will be fulfilled as Obama’s Secretary of State.

Nostradamus was interested in celestial portents as prophecy. Writing from the mid-1550s, he had accurately foreseen events and assassinations of royalty that did take place under the visitation of a great comet over religious civil war ravaged France in the year 1577. Farther forward into the future, he described the passage of the Moon’s shadow over Flanders and the spot where Jesus Christ was crucified around the time of the new Millennium and how this would usher in earthshaking events both literal and metaphorical. On August 11, 1999, a total eclipse did begin in S. England. The Moon shadow crossed the English Channel passing over Flanders, Greece, Turkey, Jerusalem (the site of Christ’s crucifixion) and finally moved out into space after shading the State of Gujarat, India. In the weeks to follow Greece, then Turkey suffered large-scale earthquakes. Nearly 50,000 reported killed in Turkey alone. In early 2001, Gujarat may have lost upwards of 100,000 buried by a monster quake. After the eclipse of 1999 came American history’s significant course change in 2000 with the Bush era, and then the terror attacks of September 11, 2001. The world under the malefic influence of both has forever altered world destiny.

On July 21-22, 2009, the world will pass under the largest moon shadow eclipse and darken the skies in the widest swath, directly witnessed by the most people in history. It just so happens that the total eclipse will begin casting a shadow close to where Nostradamus’ eclipse of August 11, 1999 ended in Gujarat. The new shadow first touches down on the Gulf of Khambhat off western India around dawn of 22 July, Indian Time. The gulf cuts into the Gujarati landmass slightly east of where the August 11, 1999 eclipse shadow passed beyond earth.

The upcoming eclipse resumes where the last ended. It passes rapidly eastward over the crowded Ganges valley overshadowing Nepal, Northern Bangladesh, eastern Tibet, then draws a line across Burma finally transiting the densely populous heartland of China overtopping several of its largest cities and industrial centers. Chief among them are the 20 million dwellers of Shanghai before it ventures across the vast surface of the Pacific Ocean up to a point north of Tahiti.

This eclipse happens when the new Moon is unusually close to the earth, just a few hours after its perigee; therefore, the maximum time some of the hundreds of millions of people will experience eclipse totality will approach six minutes! Such a long totality will not be experienced again for over a century (in 2132). The Moon being 8 percent larger than the Sun at perigee will cast a monster shadow 258 km (161 miles wide.)

This is a significant celestial event possibly referenced in the following prophecy. It was written in 1555, indexed as Century 3 Quatrain 34 by Nostradamus:

Quand le deffaut du Soleil lors sera
Sur le plain iour le monstre sera veu:
Tout autrement on l’interpretera,
Chert n’a garde nul n’y aura pourueu.

When the eclipse of the Sun then will be
The divine omen will be seen in the plain daylight:
Quite otherwise will one interpret it,
High price unguarded, none will have provided for it.

Back in 1997, I documented the following interpretation alluding to this prophecy describing the 11 August 1999 eclipse:

“A total eclipse will occur over England, France, Eastern Europe, and Turkey on 11 August 1999. It may be the same one mentioned in the [Epistle to Henry II] and in other quatrains that herald either Armageddon or a new millennium of peace. One cannot rule out that this monstre is some kind of extraterrestrial contact that signals doomsday for many of our spiritual dogmas and nationalistic ideas by proving once and for all that we are not alone in the cosmos. The solar eclipse expected in 2034 could be a divine omen of future economic collapse induced by the dog days of the greenhouse effect.

“Quatrain Indexing Date: ‘Q34′ = 2034, when a total eclipse is expected on 20 March, just prior to the sun’s transit from Pisces to Aries (the sign of wars, droughts, heat, or magical transformation).”

I do not yet rule out the indexing as a possible dated code for economic collapse from ecological pressures in relatively far off 2034. Intuition still points to ecological stresses as the ultimate cause of civilization’s takedown on all levels in my visions. Still, I am wondering now if the umbra of this upcoming eclipse touching the Earth’s surface almost exactly where the 11 August 1999 eclipse had lifted off into space makes this new event “part two” of Nostradamus’ celestial portent for earthquakes — natural as well as social and economic. The fact that it comes right in the middle of the biggest economic downturn since the Great Depression also has me pause in foreboding.

In Predictions for 2009, I wrote in detail how the efforts of the Obama Administration to end this Great Recession would stagnate by year’s end and that the efforts made to stimulate the economy might lead to a greater crisis of inflationary depression by the end of 2010 into 2011. The “divine omen” of the great eclipse of 2009 may be overlooked as nothing more than an astronomical show of historic proportions in that the greatest number of human beings will enjoy it first hand.

Caution my occult heart and attend. The passing of the shadow of the 11 August 1999 eclipse could have forewarned of natural and civil upheavals. Is there something portentous overshadowing the economies and seismic regions of the two rising Asian economic superpowers in the months and years after part two of the great Nostradamus eclipse on 21-22 July 2009, if that indeed is what it is?

Will this eclipse over Burma mark a change in its government, an end to the totalitarian regime, or does it herald the end of life of Burma’s last champion for democracy, Aung San Suu Kyi, who now languishes in jail? Novosti (the Russian News and Information Agency) reports that Iran has launched its own commodities exchange for oil, petrochemicals and natural gas this 27 February 2008. The Islamic Republic’s Minister of Economy and Financial Affairs Davoud Danesh Jaafari will run this Oil Bourse. All transactions will be in Iranian rials — not dollars. After the US invaded and destroyed Saddam Hussein’s regime, Iran’s government of Ayatollahs has taken up his cause and is at the forefront of a growing movement of Middle Eastern oil producing nations and gulf emirates which might convert US petrol-dollars into petrol-euros.

The Iranian Oil Bourse is the first step and short of another violent regime change by US arms, what will President Bush or his replacement do to stop the petrol dollar from becoming the petrol-”Pterodactyl” in the museum of extinct currencies?

The euro looks captivating as a replacement for the dollar because it is, in a way, unattached, FTSE-loose and C.A.R.E. package free. The poor dollar is like someone who is married with children and obligations. Miss Euro can sashay seductively, vogue a higher value than the doughty dollar, because she is not bound to the heavy share of economic obligations that support and sustain the global economy. For instance, over 68 percent of the global international oil exchange is in US dollars. If the lovely euro found herself hitched to the dollar’s share of bear market and pregnant burdens, her post honeymoon value would plunge.

No one profits from a collapsing dollar, so I predict it will not collapse in 2008 or any time soon after. Even Iran “boursing” around only has a five percent share of the international oil market — hardly enough dollar-less dowry to tempt petrol companies to abandon petrol-dollars for rials of a potentially unstable fundamentalist Islamo-fascist regime.

Materialism, thy name is money, or so most believe. Yet, to me this worldly bankable unit of exchange stands as one of the most well sold illusions of life. A mode of currency only has value when you convince enough people to project value on it. The dollar may be weakening to levels not seen since the early 1970s but that does not mean it will soon plummet into complete and runaway collapse. Even its greatest enemies, Presidents Ahmadinejad of Iran and Hugo Chavez of Venezuela may soon abandon dollars for euros to sell their oil but they cannot as of yet afford to see the US economy tank, because it would catastrophically bring down oil prices and bankrupt OPEC members such as they.

China might threaten to dump US bonds for euros in 2008 more to test the waters to see the extent of economic waves only the threat might jiggle. If China were actually to start dumping its US bonds precipitously for the euro, it would throw the Chinese yuan out of its comfy nest of low value into the hard streets of real worth. Its value would double — say goodbye to the Chinese economic miracle!

The US dollar, weakened, unlikely to return as the penultimate world currency, yet green backs will continue to dominate world banks and currencies for another 15 to 20 years.

ASSESSMENT (March 2007):
A popular theory held by many Nostradamian scholars identifies the emergence on the world stage of Arab-Palestinian terrorism in 1972 as the beginning of Nostradamus’ 27-year war. Certainly, it fits nicely if one subscribes to the famous “king of terror” prophecy (10 Q72) marking July 1999 as the climax to the war. It comes so close to a tidy temporal terminus of a millennium bad ending. For many years I also subscribed to this conclusion to Nostradamus’ prophetic clues until events by the mid-1990s upended it. I made the following clarification in 1996, published in 1997:

The possibilities flowing from the present moment, tempt me to believe that 1999 is not the end of the “27-year war of the Third Antichrist” (8 Q77) but its beginning. Between 1999 and 2026, if the United Nations cannot become the unquestioned world parliament and if international law does not have greater weight and fairness than national law, peace will not be restored to the Middle East, and the Arab and Islamic nations will look to China, the new superpower, as their defender against American domination.

Arab terrorists “did not” push the world into a thermonuclear war by 1999, as it turned out, 27 years after 1972. However, the events of 9/11 a few short years later seem to place us at what maybe the prelude or the beginning of the 27-year war, not its end. Appearances say this war begins with the burning issue of Middle Eastern discord and threat. It will expand to drag more than America into its tar pit politics. By 2008, America could be in a new cold war–this time with China, who, as I often predicted back in the 1990s “has” become by mid decade of the new century a superpower, though not in the old-style definition. It is a “soft” economic–rather than a military–giant. It will wage war with its greatest weapon, its economic punch.

The UN has been relevant, not as Bush predicted before the UN general assembly in late September 2002. In the final reckoning of fact, the UN inspectors “had” read Saddam Hussein’s WMD threat right. It did not exist. The shadow of irrelevance still stalks the UN if it cannot reign in the unilateral actions of superpowers invading other member states, such as the US invading Iraq. Nationalist law rules our times for a few decades more like a candle in final flare up before winking out.

Iran and Pakistan already revolve closely around the nexus of China’s economic and political sphere of influence. As do the “stans”–the potentially oil rich and newly independent states of the former Soviet Central Asian republics. China’s leaders look long and hard at the shape of future challenges. They know a time is coming soon when control of oil will be their economic weapon to counter the US food weapon–it is the breadbasket of the world’s grains. China will not be able to feed itself by the mid-2020s. America, if it keeps pace with its rising oil-addicted demand for petrol, will not be able to feed its cars and industry by the mid-2020s without the oil China economically or politically controls.

A stand off of food versus oil weapons is brewing. China’s search for new markets, such as Hugo Chavez’s Venezuelan oil is not only pursued to satiate its rising oil addiction but to fossil fuel its own economic explosion. At the right moment, to save an ally like Iran from devastation in a future war, China might pull the Persian rug out from under 10 percent of US imports from Venezuela. It might move with other allies to convert oil money from US to Euro dollars. You can have the baddest hi-tech armed force in the world, but without the fuel to run it, it sits and rusts.

Around the time I wrote Nostradamus: The New Millennium there were some rumors–mostly proffered by Mossad secret service-friendly Debka.com propagandists–that terrorist camps and havens for bin Laden existed in Western China, that thousands of Chinese troops entered Afghanistan to aid the Taliban and al-Qaeda against an imminent US reprisal attack for 9/11. That is spurious rumor for now. In future though, China will send their troops into the Middle East. You will see them hiding under a blue helmet of the United Nations peacekeepers to keep watch and weapon close to their oil interests.

A few days after the anniversary of a second year of Bush’s first term began and almost a year before the invasion of Iraq by US forces, I wrote the following (posted as a HogueProphecy Bulletin for 01 February 2002) after Bush delivered his notorious “Axis of Evil” State of the Union speech:

We are entering February 2002. Some of you may remember that my astrological calculations and oracular gut feelings expressed previously in bulletins and on radio appearance pointed to February, April and the Summer of this new year as times when we could see a sudden escalation of violence in the world war of terrorism.

The rhetoric has already escalated. January closed with US President Bush giving his first State of the Union speech before Congress–now immortalized as the “Axis of Evil” speech. In it the president defined any nation that harbors terrorists and seeks weapons of mass destruction as “evil.” In other words, President Bush has officially added Iran, and North Korea to his target list with Saddam Hussein’s Iraq. Moreover, the leader of the free world, who has at his disposal the largest arsenal of nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons in history, has condemned these countries as “evil” and put them on notice that at any time they may face the full economic and military wrath of the United States unless they curtail any association with terrorist organizations, and stop seeking, exporting, or manufacturing weapons of mass destruction.

After making his State of the Union ultimatums, the president closed January with far more sweeping fire and brimstone bellicosity in every subsequent “Axis of Evil” speech he made. In turn the leaders of Iraq and Iran have dismissed Bush’s new Marvel-Comics-like label with their own sweeping and categorically cartoon-literate reactions…

Thus we enter a new month with three countries defined as evil enemies of the United States. No sooner (and certainly not before) the three were defined as an “Axis of Evil” we see a timely introduction of documents fished out of the ruins of al-Qaeda bases in Afghanistan, probably more than a month ago, depicting crude drawings of Seattle’s Space needle and US nuclear power plants on al-Qaeda’s wish list of future US assets and reactors targeted for destruction in America.

Although many people mostly outside of the US view Bush’s combativeness and unilateralism as becoming every more a part of the problem as those nations harboring terrorists, his critics should take notice that the president and his handlers may be onto something.

I believe that George W. Bush has correctly defined the new axis alliance of a new world war, and Nostradamus may have foreseen it.

For fifteen years and counting, I have published my belief that a passage from Nostradamus’ Epistle to King Henry II of France, written in 1558, defined the alliances and bloody outcome of a future war waged between two great northern superpowers and an Eastern “triumvirate” of terrorist nations.

THE AXIS OF EVIL
(01 February 2002)

ASSESSMENT (March 2007):
In my mind, Bush’s Axis of Evil was Nostradamus secret alliance of terrorist backing Eastern kings. Iraq is a part of it. I hold to that opinion even five years after Bush made his prophetically remarkable, if disturbing, declaration. He fulfilled the right prophecy with wrong thinking. More on that later. Let us return to the bulletin posted 01 February 2002 where I presented a passage published on pages 588–591 of “Nostradamus: The Complete Prophecies” (1997). It contained the most complete synthesis of my recorded interpretations of the triumvirate-of-terror (Axis of Evil) theme evolved from 1984 to 1997.

First, I recounted the Nostradamus’ prophecy about the Triumvirate written in 1558 in his Epistle to Henry II, King of France. My “bottom line” interpretation is one I still hold to today:

“What a great oppression then will fall upon the princes and governors of kingdoms and especially those that shall live near the sea and eastward, their language intermixed in a great society (of nations); The language of the Latin nations and of the Arabic intermixed via the North African interchange, and all these Eastern Kings shall be driven away, beaten and annihilated, not altogether by the means of the forces from the Kings of the North — and by the near proximity of our century — by means of three secretly united seeking for death by ambushes (terrorism) one against the other; and the renewal of the Triumvirate shall last for seven years; yet, the fame of such a sect shall spread the world over, and the sacrifice of the holy and immaculate host shall be upheld, and then shall the lords be two in number of the North (bloc?), victorious over the Eastern ones and there shall be a great noise and warlike tumult that all the East shall quake and fear those two brothers of the North who are yet not brothers.”

Nostradamus steps back to paint us a broader picture of what appears to be World War III alliances. Sides will be drawn seven years before the end of the 20th century, or the war will be fought sometime after 1999 and will last for seven years. A triumvirate of Eastern Kings will secretly unite, using ambushes and anarchy as their main weapons against their chief nemeses, the Kings of the North — possibly America, the EC, and Russia. Language intermixed with a great society of nations places this prophecy in modern times. Note the North African allusion to Tunisia, the headquarters of the PLO. Libya’s close ties with France and Italy through oil are also inferred. Because Nostradamus usually defines all points beyond Greece as Asia, this Eastern alliance has every chance of being a Mid-Eastern and even North African Axis alliance.

I can only assume from continual references throughout the Bible, and the auguring of Nostradamus and other prophetic giants such as Edgar Cayce and Cheiro, that the three most likely combinations for candidates for this triumvirate are Libya, Syria, and Iran; Egypt, Syria and Iran; or even Sudan, Libya and Iran. Elsewhere in the quatrains we have already examined references to Mesopotamia– Iraq — playing a primary role in the greater war to come. Operation Desert Storm may be no more than an early episode in a long pan-Islamic war with the West that will make some of America’s staunchest Arab Coalition allies, like Syria and Egypt, into greater enemies than the Iraqis. Whoever the Mid-Eastern triumvirate finally turns out to be, they will find support from some greater Eastern King, implying the leader of the People’s Republic of China or North Korea.

The Arab triumvirate and its Eastern ally, China, suffer the mother of all massacres through the overwhelming firepower of the great northern powers. If by near proximity of our century, Nostradamus means Armageddon is at hand, he is as inaccurate on dating the final battle as St John of Revelation was in the first century AD, when he slotted the Second Coming of Christ in his own near future.

Nostradamus, like many of history’s greatest prophets, shares a collective vision that the Cold War scenario had little prophetic weight. If there’s to be a third world war, it will come from a conflict of biblical proportions in the Middle East. And, the quatrains strongly suggest that such a war comes only after Russia drops communism and becomes brothers, or friends, with the United States. But beware, the brotherhood is premature. When Nostradamus says they are not yet brothers he makes a word-play link to 2Q89′s two great friends who are halved. Nostradamus uses demis, which can be the French d’amis (of friends), or the Latin word demis (being “halved” or “split” apart). The instigator for this split could be Mabus (2Q62) and/or the Third Antichrist, who may use submarines based in either Libya or the Persian Gulf to trigger a terrorist event so horrendous that it undermines the Russo-American alliance.

ASSESSMENT (March 2007):
Perhaps the Iraq chapter of the world war foreseen will last seven years, if we start counting them from President Bush’s “Axis of Evil” revelation as prelude to his US invasion of Iraq. That means, at the writing of this update just as the US enters its fifth year of occupation in Iraq, the war will last two bloody years more–perhaps the bloodiest years of all. The next president will withdraw most of the US troops therefore in the spring of 2010. If this interpretation of the “seven years” is correct then we have an anti-war president in the White House in 2009, starting “her” first term in office. The US-Iraq Gulf war might officially end by 2010, but be clear, the entanglements in the Middle East have only begun for the next president.

Then there is Russia’s hand dipping deep these days in Middle Eastern oil intrigues.

It is ten years after I wrote the passage above in Nostradamus: The Complete Prophecies. Russia is already showing signs of being the “brother” to America that is not yet brotherly. After Russia ceased being the Soviet Union, it has drawn itself close to Iran with economic and political ties. Russia built Iran’s fleet of three Kilo Class attack submarines and helped modernize Iran’s military forces with cutting edge anti-radar jamming weapons and a new generation of missiles that could defy US Patriot Anti-Missile batteries dug in to protect the Arab gulf states from Iranian attack. Russia is behind helping Iran perfect its sunburn missile swarm strategies that might overwhelm US carrier based anti-missile systems if there is a war. Russia is reluctant to support UN sanctions against its economic ally because it is the primary builder of Iran’s nuclear reactor systems and may only give sanctions lip service with the most recent round of UN sanctions leveled against Iran. What had once been the two communist superpowers of the cold war (Russia and China) are sympathetically waiting in the periphery to see if President Bush or President  Ahmadinejad of Iran instigates war.

“Mabus”, a potential code name for the third and final Antichrist of Nostradamus’ augured reckoning, will through his mischief have already set the stage for this widening conflict that might bring an end to Russia’s “brotherhood” with America in a new cold “peace” if not yet a cold war. The Iraqi President Saddam Hussein set that stage defying the UN and gave another hotheaded president grounds to invade his country and hang him. Now President Bush stands as a potential Mabus candidate ready to instigate war. By the time this bulletin is posted (31 March 2007), two US Carrier groups inside the Persian Gulf will have finished holding the largest combined naval war exercise since the 2003 invasion of Iraq. Perhaps this show of US might is an ominous response to the recent abduction by Iranian Revolutionary Navy Guards of 15 British Royal Marines and sailors in the disputed Iranian-Iraqi waters off the Shatt al-Arab. Some believe a US-Iranian war may take place in early April, just before Easter.

The Iranian fleets are also rehearsing for war. The three Russian made Iranian submarines patrolling the Persian Gulf will be key in giving grounds for Bush’s new war, or giving grief to the Americans, who may experience the first sinking of a major US naval warship since the Second World War.

It is my belief that last Saturday’s space shuttle disaster (1 February.) is the first illumination of a succession of events coming in the next few months concerning Century 2 Quatrain 62.

Nostradamus’ famous “Mabus” prophecy is about to be fulfilled. A translation in English reads:

Mabus will soon die, then will come,
A horrible undoing of people and animals,
At once one will see vengeance,
One-hundred powers, thirst, famine, when the comet will pass.

Nostradamus wrote two prophecies concerning the advent, destruction and 27-year war of the third of three antichrists. He hid the name of the first antichrist under the anagram “Napaulon Roy” (Napoleon King); the second he called “Hister” (Hitler); the third is either code named “Mabus” (C2 Q62), or he is addressed as the “Third Antichrist” of Century 8 Quatrain 77. For now I will give you brief interpretive conclusions about the Mabus/Third Antichrist prophecies.

Two finalists compete for the title of “Mabus” By following the laws of anagram you turn the “M” and “a” in “Mabus” upside down and they become “g. W.” The “h” then is left silent in Latinized French, thus “bus” becomes “bus(h).” “Mabus” therefore becomes G.W. Bus(h).

As I have been saying for over 15 years now, you can also get Saddam (Hussein) out of “Mabus” by using the anagram game of reverse lettering. Put Mabus into lower case letters — “mabus.” Reverse them and you get “subam.” Reverse any letter that makes another letter and you get “sudam.” The laws of anagram allow for doubling one letter, so you can get “suddam.” You are allowed one vowel’s replacement with another, so you can replace “u” with “a” to spell “saddam.”

I have shared my belief on the record for nine years-and-counting that Nostradamus’ Third Antichrist is none other than Saddam Hussein. However; as events catch up with augury, an interpreter must be open minded to the ever clearer understanding that often comes when the light of future events foreseen draw near to the present.

No matter how repugnant this revelation may be to myself and to other Americans, I cannot rule out the growing prescient evidence that the Third Antichrist may be the the American president. G.W. Bush, rather than Iraqi president Saddam Hussein. It is also necessary to confront the ugly possibility that Nostradamus has once again mistaken his symbols and made a composite out of two adversarial leaders. In other words, Mabus is a composite of Bush and Saddam Hussein. They are the two-faced catalyst for the Third World War.

The events of the next few months will judge my interpretation of the Mabus prophecy true or false. If my understanding of Nostradamus is correct then sometime around the new moon of 3 March 2003 (UPDATE-3/18/03: A little later in March, it would seem), the United States will invade Iraq. Saddam Hussein will be killed in one of his bunkers by a missile, or by a coup. If he is “Mabus” then he “soon dies.” He therefore is one of the first casualties of this new war. His death is not the beginning of the end of troubles, but the end of the beginning of a 27-war of terror. A number of Nostradamus’ prophecies imply that this war’s final stages could see nuclear exchanges between old adversaries of the Cold War era: Russia and America, as well as a nuclear exchange between America and China — all taking place sometime no later than the end of the 2020s. In other words, a rush to war will hasten the death of Mabus, and his death brings this terrible apocalypse upon humanity. Nostradamus in Century 8 Quatrain 77 says:

The Third Antichrist very soon annihilated.
Twenty-seven years his bloody war will last.
The heretics are dead, captives exiled,
Blood-soaked human bodies, and a reddened, icy hail covering the earth.

The Third Antichrist — this man named Mabus — is the first to go down. Whether this first casualty of war turns out to be the president of America or of Iraq — or both — the war of Mabus is just beginning. It is a war motivated by “heretic” religious views. Its catalyst harbors extreme fundamentalist and apocalyptic religious views, be they Christian (in the case of Bush) or Islamic (in the case of Saddam Hussein). Islamist terrorists are already the “captives, exiled” filling U.S. POW camp at Guatanamo Bay, Cuba. The final line could be a horrific description of the human wreckage one might behold if the death of the American president or the Iraqi president should inspire a catastrophic retaliatory revenge attack (“a great undoing [or destruction] of people and animals]). Nostradamus in other quatrains hints of “new plagues” unleashed across the earth from this war. Perhaps the red stain upon corpses and the icy hail are a 16th century man’s attempt to describe those killed by a rain of chemical and biological weapons.

Perhaps “Mabus soon dies” in the next few weeks, after “the comet” passes.

Nestled in the grass in a field in eastern Texas, lies a mission patch from the fallen space shuttle Columbia. It somehow had miraculously survived its fiery fall out of the morning sky. The names of the seven heroic astronauts who died make an outline of their space shuttle. A glowing trail like a comet’s tale streaks through the shuttle’s outline ending in a many pointed star. It is a star very similar to that filmed by a hundred amateur video cameras across Texas as it fell to earth like a flaming comet.

Mabus will soon die, then will come,
A horrible undoing of people and animals… when the comet will pass.

Has the comet just passed?

Is this the chilling portent of things to come for America if they should hurry off to war?

Destiny holds it breath as America primes its war machine.

UPDATE-3/17/03: It would seem that moonlit deserts don’t concern the US President as his special forces must pass over these to secure oil fields and landing fields in the initial stages. According to the US ultimatum today, it would seem that war could begin any time after Wednesday, 19 March; even though the waning moon will nearly be full. One might expect the attack could be delayed until the moon is in its last quarter on 24 March as this would bring the invasion in the darkness of evening before the moon rises around midnight. Then again, anyone who has been to the Middle East knows that the heat is coming. It has already begun. Perhaps the God of War is too short tempered, too hot and bothered, to relent.
