It is the dawn of “Super bowel” Sunday in America. The US version of Imperial Roman bread and circuses at least has progressed beyond deadly intended gladiatorial clashes. The real ritual combat is in the digestive systems of 100 million Americans pigging out on beer, pizza and chips; ergo, from Super Bowl to bowel I go in my allusions.

A lot is going on in the world right now and I have to catch up with it. Finishing Predictions for 2012 anticipated this new year with around 65,000 words of detailed predictions. And yet, I have to rebuild my stock of articles for Hogueprophecy, as I usually do at the beginning of the year after recovering from such a large book creation in so short a time.

There is the transit of Neptune in Pisces to talk about. It started a few days ago. It will last 13 years. Neptune’s transit will generate a wave of revolutions like it did last time when it entered Pisces in 1848 and something much more: a revolution in mythic art. It could get “Hobbit” forming.

Predictions made, starting in 2010 about US-NATO making an early pullout in Afghanistan got some traction from the US Secretary of Defense last week.

The Ayatollah Khamenei, the theocratic dictator of Iran waxed Islamically apocalyptic a few days ago about the final prophet of Islam coming very soon to defeat the wicked West and the Jews. Or so he “doom-say.”

There is the weird weather in North America, the December-into-January “non-weather” event for many, juxtaposed against record blizzards and cold snaps in Eastern Europe.

Now to the pressing prophetic matters of the day:

Romney advances to Victory. Can Gingrich re-Newt himself?
Oh, how fortunes flash and fade in the Republican version of “Survivor Island”, the debate-episodic series on the road to Tampa Florida and the Republican Convention set in August to pick the man best likely to lose against the incumbent president.

Former Mass. governor Mitt Romney plastered former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich taking all 50 delegates in the Florida Primary the other week. He plastered Gingrich again in yesterday’s Nevada Caucus.

I would like to refer to a prediction in response to the following and somewhat snarky comment of Susan K, to one of my blogs back on 26 January when she said, “Well, Perry is out. Gingrich is overtaking Romney. So much for predictions…”

My reply then was this: “Romney will be the Republican candidate. Gingrich may squeak a win in Florida – or not – but by Super Tuesday elections, it is over. But really, we’re talking about the losers. Waving the banner of the losing side.”

We are entering roughly a six week  season of Republican State caucuses spicing up primaries: 13 state caucuses to be exact. Today we have Nevada and Maine. Then on Tuesday, Colorado and Minnesota (7 Feb.). My state’s turn on 3 March with Washington. Then Palin’s Alaska, along with Idaho, North Dakota, Wyoming on Super Tuesday (6 March). Kansas, US Virgin Islands go on (10 March). Hawaii (13 March) and finally Missouri on 17 March.

During open Caucus season when a small band of dedicated zealots can use them to take all the delegates of a state, Ron Paul at last may have his “surge” of popularity like almost every other Republican candidate in the 19 debates that began this “Republican Survivor Island” contest, starting last May. Between now and through March Obi-Ron-Paul-nobi might Jedi-up some delegate gathering surprises.

Who knows? If Newt Gingrich keeps fading away from lack of preparation and financial backing, gee, can we imagine that Ron Paul might even nudge to second behind Romney for a while in delegates, putting Gingrich in third place?

The Newt lost “The Donald’s” endorsement too.

Newt, like Donald Trump, are Gemini sun signs and because politics tends to bring out the worst in our astrological potentials, the sign of the twins is looking more like a multiple-personality disorder for the two. Gingrich, who cannot find the feisty personality of his debate victories past, nor retain support from “The Donald” Gemini, having his own multiple persona mood swings, when recently endorsing the Piscean and fishy Romney – the same one he called a loser only a few months ago.

The forces of Piscean muddle crush Republican hopes to take back the White House – even to retain the House of Representatives, in 2012. Gingrich, the man who destroyed Republican hopes to fell Bill Clinton in the 1990s, failed. Now he has come back. An agent of undermining hopes for Republican victory in 2012. On the surface, the momentum is with Romney now after Florida and Nevada victories. I hold to the prediction that Mitt Romney will be the Republican candidate. Gingrich will stay in the fight to the end and make Romney’s victory too wounding and costing too high a price for victory in the presidential phase of this electoral farce. Gingrich is a destroyer. That is his destiny. That is all he is good at, politically speaking.

Now let us move to the real people that time and corporate news have forgotten.

Syria descending into Civil War
We have burned through the first month of the pivotal year of 2012 and already some of the predictions I signed off on and documented in my new e-Book published on 21 December 2011 are quickening in pace towards fulfillment.

Observers from the Arab League came, saw the bloody unrest in the streets of Syria and scarpered back to their capitals without any tempering affect on the Bashar al-Assad regime’s daily tank tread grind over life and limb of a popular independence movement. No resolution of merit was coming from the Arab League to temper the regime’s armored force further harvesting death, gunning down an estimated 5,000 and counting with many more thousands arrested and concentrated into prisons. Even as January ended, reports filter out of Syria of mutinies of soldiers, gathering their weapons and forming rebel units fighting back. There are bloody confrontations now, even in the Al-Assad regime’s heart, in the suburbs of Damascus itself. My forecasts for 2012 foresaw this coming and where it will escalate next.

The “Occupy” Movement Turns Violent in 2012
Last weekend Oakland California police fired pellet guns point blank into a seething mass of Occupy Oakland protesters demonstrating before City Hall. In the melee the city hall was damaged. This is the first time significantly violent responses came from crowds when provoked by police aggression. They charged the line of pellet pop-gun popping police, grenade concussed to the right, batoned to the left, tear gas canisters and rubber bullets to the front volleyed and thundered in a Balaclava brawl.

In my oracle’s prophecies for 2012, it forebodes the Occupy protests will get violent and there will be fatalities as forces of the status quo will be so threatened by millions crowding in the streets of the world that demand revolutionary change. These huddled masses demand Internet remains a source of free speech. Against these demands, a plutocracy in peril will let slip the “cops” of war.

Now to some vindications:

The Year 2011 WAS the Year 12 Catastrophes, in Two Ways
In a Coast to Coast AM appearance back in April 2011, I began presenting the concept of 2011 going down as the year of 12 catastrophes as each month endures either a political, economic or natural disaster that in more moderate times would each be comparable to the worst disaster for an average year’s worth of world events. Now that 2011 is finished, I can make my final assessment. The outcome of my prediction is an ominously two-fold one.

Let us review the disasters by each month, defined by their theme of catastrophe:

January: Natural catastrophe. Queensland Australia under water from cyclonic storms and monster floods displacing 200,000 people and sending record floods into the provincial capital of Brisbane.

February: Political catastrophe for dictators. Arab revolutions spread across the Middle East taking down the Egyptian dictator Hosni Mubarak and rebellions starting in February would later lead to the fall of dictators, such as Yemen’s Saleh and the overthrow and killing of the Arab’s world’s longest ruling tyrant, Muhammar Gaddafi. At the time of this writing, the Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad is besieged by a growing rebellion and civil war. He may be next to go in 2012.

March: Natural and nuclear catastrophe. The Tohoku temblor, at magnitude 9.0 becomes the 5th largest earthquake in recorded history, unleashed a killer tsunami, washing entire towns and 12,000 victims along the northeastern coast of Japan’s main island of Honshu. It became Japan’s worst disaster since the allied fire and atomic bombings of the Second World War. The quake lowered the coast over a meter in some areas allowing the ocean to surmount wave walls and flood four reactors at Fukushima, knock out their water cooling systems and make it second only to Chernobyl (1986) as the worst nuclear disaster in history.

April: Natural catastrophe. Over five hundred are killed in a series of super-cell tornado outbreaks across the US southern states – primarily in Alabama, making April 2011 the most destructive month of any US tornado season recorded.

May: Natural catastrophe. The worst flood of the Mississippi River in 70 years. Billions of dollars of 200,000 acres of prime cropland drowned, including the submerging of towns and farms in Missouri, Tennessee, Alabama and Arkansas and serious flooding of metropolitan Memphis. Sluice gates had to be opened inundating vast tracts of Louisiana to save the levies around New Orleans from breaking.

June: Natural catastrophe. Next the Missouri River flooded. Fort Calhoun Nebraska’s nuclear reactor nearly became the next Fukushima disaster when the mighty Missouri jumped its banks, broke through the sand bag barrier and surged into the reactor complex.

July: Natural catastrophe. Texas enters a climatic summer of drought, killing off livestock and crops to the tune of $5 billion dollars in damage. Dallas-Fort Worth in July began clocking what later became 40 consecutive days of 100-plus degree Fahrenheit temperatures. July 2011 recorded 1,400 triple-digit record-breaking temperatures through the US Midwest and Southwest.

August: Economic catastrophe. I wrote the following forecast for 2011 in December 2010:

A deep polarity is coming in political-economic discourse in 2011. The midterm elections split the Congress. Gridlock on economic reform is coming. If the Republicans let the right wing partisan cat jump out of the Tea Bag, they will precipitate the next worldwide financial crisis in US leadership confidence.

Predictions for 2011: Chapter Eight,
A Cold Depression, like a Cold War

Congress bickering and trying to achieve political “gotcha” points let the deadline for US government solvency nearly pass into default by 1 August. The US debt ceiling was raised in the 11th hour but confidence in US leadership to a serious blow from which it has not completely recovered. August 2011 saw the worst stock market plunge since the onset of the Great Recession in 2008. For the first time in history, the world’s most powerful economy with the world’s leading currency suffered losing premium credit status.

September: Natural catastrophe. On came the month of historic tropical floods! Hurricane Irene then Tropical Storm Lee blasted and inundated the Atlantic seaboard New England states. Severe drought across southern Pakistan was replaced after mid August into September by severe monsoonal flooding. Qamar uz Zaman Chaudhry, Director General Pakistan Meteorological Department said: “the rains in Sindh are the highest ever recorded monsoon rains during the four-week period of August and September 2011. Floods from the skies killed hundreds and by September displaced 9 million people. In East Asia Typhoon Roke sent storm surges and mudslides over the regions of Japan devastated by the March quake and tsunami. The floods across the US Atlantic states made the Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee events one of the ten costliest property damage disasters in US history.

October: Natural catastrophe. I predicted that in 2011 monsoons supercharged by global warming would move their fury east of South Asia all the way through Southeast Asia. (See Predictions for 2011). Orissa and West Bengal in India, Bangladesh too, were hit and three-quarters of Thailand was inundated. Bangkok had standing waters for two months. In Thailand’s worst national disaster, it is estimated that its GNP for 2012 will fall by one third because of black monsoon waters.

November: Natural catastrophe. This following passage is from my e-book of prophecies for 2012, assessing the 12 catastrophes of 2011 as they relate to astrological influences that set the world for 13 years of record floods to come.

Typhoons will track farther south into the Philippines, into Manila, floods in Vietnam, in Haiphong.

Chapter 5: Nature’s War on Humanity
The First Two Years (2010-2011)

The Philippines and its capital Manila were hit by two typhoons in the span of four days in August 2011. The floods came to Vietnam in November, displacing 600,000 people.

December: Natural catastrophe.
The Philippines in 2011 were hit by three devastating tropical storms, but tropical storm Washi (Sendong) was the worst. It visited a deluge over the islands of Mindanao and Palawan killing 1,300. Over 300,000 people were made homeless in the river tsunami. The fate of 100,000 of these wretched people was to be evacuated out of muddy flood plains that have buried their roads, crops and homes for good.

Where 12 Disasters cannot be Disputed
One could easily argue that the natural disasters crowding the year 2011 numbered more than 12. There is one year-end report that I find prophetically chilling. When sometimes one is simply the messenger to an oracular vision, one does not clearly understand a vision fully until after it is fulfilled. So I have to wonder, if the following report is actually what my oracle meant when it counted 12 disasters for 2011.

The NOAA (the National Center for Atmospheric Research) reports America experienced in 2011 a record breaking 12 disasters costing $1 billion dollars or more. The next worst year was nine disasters in 2008. The 12 of 2011 cost more than all natural disasters in the US in the 1980s combined. Is this the new “abnormal” of Global Warming?

Jerry Meehl, a climate scientist at NOAA in Boulder, Colorado said of 2011, “The degree of devastation is extreme in and of itself, and it would be tempting to say it’s a sign of things to come, though we would be hard-pressed to see such a convergence of circumstances occurring in one single year again for a while.”

I would hope Meehl is right, but my oracle’s long list of upheavals and floods for 2012 would say the new year would match and even transcend the last.

Things are not what they seem. There is saber rattling in the Persian Gulf (or what Nostradamus called in his predictions about a future war with Iran, the “Arabian” Gulf). Your corporately funded and controlled mainstream news outlets like to prey on the childishness of the masses. They play our overlording parent waving a saber baby rattle to attract a child’s wondering attention as the nurse, as it were, prepares the painful butt shot.

Watch the rattling saber, my fellow babies. Coo your concern and fatal attraction to a war being pushed upon you with Iran by a military industrial complex that needs to find another market in the highly profitable big business of war armaments and deterrents in the Middle East. The war business lost the Iraq market with the pullout of the US military occupation. Pakistan’s radicalization will soon pinch off the war market in Afghanistan, much sooner than the deadline of 2014, by the way.

The public’s infantile attention is directed elsewhere, away from real dangers lurking in the highly unstable and Islamist-bound regime along the Indus River. Pakistan with its crash program to triple its nuclear weapons stockpile is adding 200 more 25 to 35 kiloton nuclear warheads to its current arsenal of 100 nukes by 2021. The press obsesses on Iran maybe someday building an atomic bomb. Terrorist cells train in Pakistan in the vicinity of 100-plus nuclear warhead stockpiles TODAY. A Pakistani military and government already heavily infiltrated by jihadist sympathizers guard these Islamic A-bombs. The same military and government that often give Afghani Taliban logistical and intelligence support when they attack US and NATO forces occupying Afghanistan.

Iran is years away from having the ability to build atomic weapons. At any moment now, a Pakistani warhead or radioactive materials stockpiled to build hundreds more could be smuggled to the Taliban or what is left of al-Qaeda. The tools of nuclear terrorism can at any moment be smuggled out of Pakistani military bases and handed over to emerging and strengthening organizations like Lashkar-e-Taiba. This Pakistani based jihadist network effectively shot up downtown Mumbai India in November 2008.

Iran may soon become a danger, but Pakistan, right now, IS a danger and its growing instability becomes a more clear and present threat to human peace and stability than what the Iranians may or may not be doing with their nuclear civilian program at this time. I predict it will be proven that Iran is only learning how to make an atomic bomb. They will not actually build them. Israel introduced these awful weapons of mass atomic destruction into the Middle East in the 1960s. They now have an arms race lead of an estimated 80 to 300 warheads. It is impossible to catch up given the scrutiny and economic sanctions placed on Iran.

Rattle, rattle, rattle goes the sword of war in its scabbard, daily and nightly on the 24-hour news cycles of corporately left-leaning CNN to corporately right-leaning Fox News propaganda organs of the politically two-faced aristocracy of our times. The elites do not cite bloodlines as their reason for being the alpha male and female class. They cite bottom lines of immense hoards of corporate wealth and influence over totalitarian and democratic government politicians of our day.

They have an agenda. They want to “inject” something into the backside of the Middle East to control the juice of their affluence, the black blood that runs our civilization: the last location of easy-to-drill petroleum that happens to lie underneath volatile Arab and Persian states. Since 2006 and in my book about war with Iran, I have been writing about a movement masquerading behind the US and Israeli governments that is neo-Imperialist, Neo-Conservative. It has the former deputy Secretary of Defense, Paul Wolfowitz and the former Vice President Dick Cheney as its earliest author and editor of a manifesto first introduced shortly after the end of the Cold War, that strategically planned a new way for American superpower to remain relevant after the Soviet Union’s collapse. In short, America with help or unilaterally must take down the rogue regimes of Saddam Hussein’s Iraq and the Islamic Revolutionary regime of Iran so that oil can run free and fully under the sphere of influence of the United States. If war and occupation must happen in Iraq and Iran, then so be it. As I listed in a recent article Israel Iran Strike, the Wolf, his Dick and many other leading figures in the Neo-Conservative movement crowded the G.W. Bush administration’s cabinet. They successfully pushed the US Congress in October of 2002 to grant war powers to the president based on a lot of saber rattling and no solid evidence that Saddam Hussein had a stockpile of weapons of mass destruction that was an imminent threat to the United States. All complete and hyperbolic BS, as it turned out, but it got the Neo-Conservatives half way to their goal, even though it did not get them the oil because the Bush administration proved to be a bungling gaggle of faux Imperialists. Saddam’s Iraq went down. Iran, you are next.

I have also been at pains to forewarn my readers that this cabal of Neo-Cons marries right wing corporate interests in the US to Zionist supremacists in Israel, which would have the US expend its treasure and its blood to fulfill the foreign policies of Israel. This has become an absurdist turn of events where the proxies control the superpower. I understand why Israel might seek to manipulate a friend and military giant to wage its wars and aggressive foreign policies in a region hostile to its existence. I understand why Iran might want to know how to build an atomic bomb when hundreds of Israeli warheads are pointed at its people, which an any point might be unleashed.

What you, my readers, need to understand is that Iran’s oil reserves are dwindling. Teheran plans in the next few decades to build 15 nuclear plants because the next generation of Iranians will need a new industry beyond the fading oil export industry, and a new source of electricity and power to generate it. Iran MUST go ahead with its nuclear program for its economic survival and the only way it can pay for it is to export oil while there is still oil to ship out through the Strait of Hormuz.

Cut its ability to export and you have cut Iran’s economic future below the knees. When you shut a country’s economy down and stop talking to them, you leave that country only a military option. More on that a little later.

Know this also, that Iran seeks like any other signatory of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, the knowledge to build atomic weapons.

Did we sanction Taiwan, South Korea, or Japan decades before when they tested and acquired the know-how to build atomic weapons, just in case a nuclear power like Communist China might threaten?

The saber rattles and rattles your attention away from the hypocrisies and big business oil and big business military players behind the facades of President Bush, President Obama and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu.

The war market is in a crisis. The infernal shop of conflict is closing for the moment in Iraq and in Afghanistan soon. There is ever less reason out there for US taxpayers to bankroll this capitalist welfare program that fields a Cold War sized Imperial US armed force after strategic threats requiring such a behemoth had vanished with the Cold War over 20 years ago. Global economic pressures also push America to downsize its stupendous military might. It is ten times more powerful than any armed force that could vaguely threaten. Now that Saddam is gone, the big boots of a Soviet sized bogeyman look even more ridiculous if you try to shove them on little, rat faced Iranian President Ahmadinejad’s feet.

A resumption of a global cold war with the Soviet replacement, the Russian Federation, is unlikely for now, so big war businessmen must seek a regional cold war business model. Iran is perfect for this. The military industrialists would prefer containing Iran for decades rather than a short sharp and messy conflict. The Cold War between the US and Soviet Union cost relatively few American lives, compared to the First and Second World Wars but made contractors in the Military Industrial Complex insanely rich off taxpayer’s dollars just preparing for, but not actually waging, doomsday. The same set up is happening in the Persian Gulf Cold War starting in 2012. Huge defense spending contracts and orders are already going through, soon to rebuild and reboot the air forces and missile defense systems of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf States with the most modern and most pricey US weaponry on the market.

The more moderate puppet masters competing to pull the strings of the current US president and Israeli Prime Minister would seek to postpone a major war with Iran. Building and sustaining military deterrents is much more war profitable. At least postpone until the middle of the decade at the earliest because fantastic profits are theirs for the taking in a ramp up of Saudi and Gulf State rearmament for the next four years.

There is at the moment a more impatient set of polemical puppet masters of the Neo-Con-cum-Zionist faction of the military industrial complex that want to give Iran what I would call the “Japanese Ultimatum” – the no choice but war option. They know they cannot stop Iran from exploring nuclear weapons unless they can somehow push Teheran out of its passive aggressive foreign policy game into some precipitous action. All the last attempts during the Bush administration since 2005 through 2008 to create a military incident in the Strait of Hormuz in which most of the oil shipped by sea to the world passes failed because the Iranians did not take the provocative bait. They have not taken the bait in a clandestine war the US started waging inside Iran since 2005. Terrorists the US supports are available for weapons and bomb training in a number of non-Persian ethnic populations in Iran. The CIA and Israeli Mossad secret services have trained these to blow up hundreds of people in bombed planes, squares and mosques across Iran since 2005.

Your corporate Western media does not want you to know that.

Why is one man's terror another man's righteous kill?

The serial assassination of nearly a half dozen nuclear physicists and scientists of late is just an escalation of this secret war of terrorism waged against Iranians by Israeli and CIA operatives.

Oh! I’m sorry. These roadside bombers aren’t terrorists. If the good guys blow women and children up with car bombs in crowded streets of Iran, they are “freedom fighters.”

Now, to be fair, Iran’s government is getting its own back. They wage clandestine war against Israel ever since this secret war started, using the proxies of Hezbollah and have sent military trainers by the hundreds to teach Hezbollah terrorists how to launch imported Iranian rockets falling on innocent Israeli civilians. A large part of the 5,000 US and Coalition soldiers killed in Iraq and to some extent Afghanistan were fatally maimed by an ever more deadly evolution of Iranian manufactured roadside bombs.

The Iranian-US-Israeli regional Cold War has been on since 2005, yet in 2012, it could go potentially hot, like the global cold war between the US and the Soviet Union almost did during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Especially now that the Neo-Cons are doing everything they can through the media and through political pressure in the US to push upon Obama the “Japanese Ultimatum” against Iran.

In late 2011, the US Senate voted unanimously to enact a regimen of sanctions handed to President Obama that would cripple Iran’s one economic lifeline, its oil exports. Obama would prefer to push the Iranians in increments, but forces pulling the strings and holding the financial purses of Democratic and Republican puppets in the Senate have pressed for an escalation that will, if successful, end all political support for a negotiated solution in Iran.

General Hideki Tojo became Japan's Prime Minister in 1941 when US ultimatums and a US embargo of steel and petroleum exports silenced doves and diplomats in the Japanese cabinet. Tojo sanctioned the surprise attack on the US Pacific Fleet at Peal Harbor.

It is kind of a reverse image of what happened to Imperial Japan just before they went to war with the US in 1941. The expansion, indeed the survival, of the Japanese Empire depended on foreign exports of steel and oil to fuel and arm its military. Most of these exports came from America. When President Franklin D. Roosevelt put an embargo on all oil and steel exports to Japan, he forced the diplomats out of power in Tokyo. War hawk officers filled the void in the Japanese Cabinet of Emperor Hirohito. Negotiations had turned to ultimatums from America to get out of Indo-China and China. In less than a year, Japan’s military machine would cease to work. No country with a war machine and Imperial intentions, be they Japan in the 1940s or Neo-Conned America in the 21st century, will let their forces run out of steel and fuel. War was the only option Japan had. They attacked Pearl Harbor in 1941 to destroy the US Pacific Fleet so their own fleet and army could conquer the oil fields of Indonesia without US threat.

History past becomes history future, relatively easy to forecast, because people keep conditioning their new generations to repeat the same stupid mistakes. All the elements of the Japan Ultimatum are in this Iran Ultimatum passed by the US Senate. Oil is again the catalyst for war, only this time it is not oil denied to Iran’s domestic industries and military forces. Iranian oil exports will be severely restrained “from” Iran.

Rather than aid a negotiated settlement, like with Japan, the cynical intention of these sanctions is to flush out any remaining doves from the Iranian government, which has already become more militarized and dominated by its own General Hideki Tojos, the officers of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards. If you want to force the hand of war, push sanctions that are impossible to economically survive. Threaten a nation’s economic existence.

There is another objective, more cynical and dreadful happening here and Iran is only the bait, not the target. The target is a slow but fragile recovery of the US economy during a presidential election year. There are well-financially-healed oligarchic forces in the world influencing American politics that could easily absorb a temporary financial hit in 2012 if it takes down the Obama administration and what is left of the toe hold the Democrats have in the US Senate.

The creeping coup of a corporate aristocracy had already conquered the US Supreme Court in 2010 and received their “equal citizen status” allowing an empowered plutocracy to flood money and influence to decide the US elections according to what their money can buy and what you human citizens of America cannot lobby and possibly match fund.

The real reason why a push for war with Iran goes on whilst the real danger of nuclear terrorist proliferation remains unaddressed in Pakistan, is to create a false flag crisis in the Persian Gulf that disrupts oil flow out of the Strait of Hormuz. Pakistan needs to go radical so the same Neo-Cons who looked the other way to let 9-11 terror attacks on America happen, can yet again resurrect a jihadist bogeyman that will require decades of deterrent military spending.

But I get ahead of myself. First, false flag a conflict with Iran in 2012. The Strait of Hormuz is closed to oil traffic. The skyrocketing oil prices will then temporarily push the US economy back into a recession. The economic downturn will be blamed on President Obama. A little war of gunboats in the Strait of Hormuz might just tip the economy back into 10 percent unemployment and convince enough voters that Obama and the Democrats controlling the Senate need to be flushed out with their votes in November 2012. A far more big business friendly Republican president and Congress in Washington would lead to a speedier dismantling of the US democracy in the name of smaller government.

Nevertheless, I believe this attempt by corporate forces will not be successful. The president will use his discretion in 2012 to attempt measured application of the Iranian sanctions. There may be a military incident in the Strait of Hormuz no later than June through August 2012. Even if there was a brief naval skirmish in 2012, it is only preliminary to the ultimate military showdown Nostradamus’ astrology seems to frame for the years 2015 and 2016.

Babies are easily distracted. The saber’s rattle of corporate interests might backfire when a baby’s attention catches upon something else that is bright and shiny, like a diplomatic breakthrough that only the threat of war might propel in the 11th hour concession from Teheran. Iran may take the enemy away from the military industrial complex pushers and surrender their nuclear weapon aspirations in 2012; or, at least achieve gaining some time in that tried and true Iranian tradition of diplomatic stalling.

Iran is a country that knows how to buy time. It has lasted for 3,000 years. However, if real diplomatic breakthroughs are not forthcoming in 2012, Iran is only buying time up to 2015 or 2016 when a terrible war showdown will come out of its skies and melt its fleets of motorboats in the Persian Gulf. Another fleet might be melted and sunk as well. Nostradamus leaves that potential open.

This is a still from a video taken by a US naval war vessel last week stationed in the Strait of Hormuz of an Iranian gunboat. The Iranians taunt US warships by speeding very close, causing US crews to put fingers on gun triggers. No shots as of yet have been fired.

A conflict between Iranians and Western forces was certainly foretold in one of Nostradamus’ prophecies where he named the Strait of Hormuz outright by the name it held during the 16th century. We will examine the prophecy in my next article.

It took no Nostradamus to predict this outcome. The committee gathered together after the tragically laughable sand box kiddie clash in US Congress back in July over raising the US debt ceiling, letting the Romper Room standoff go all the way to the drop dead timeline of 1 August before the US defaulted on its debt payments. It sent worldwide confidence in American leadership and the stock markets to the worst lows since 2008 and America lost its premier credit borrowing rating. Standard and Poor’s lowered the investment rate of the United States from triple A to double A. The first time in history that has ever happened to the largest economy in the world.

Back in August, S&P’s threatened to lower the US credit rating further in December if the six Democrat and six Republican legislators comprising the super committee created by the Budget Control Act did not come up with a long term financial plan. In effect, a so-called “trigger mechanism” will initialize an automatic $1.2 trillion set of spending cuts deep into entitlement programs, Medicare and especially the Pentagon’s military industrial complex budget over ten years.

Congress with Republicans in the lead is trying to find ways to renege on legally honoring the trigger mechanism. President Obama threatens to veto their attempt. I predict that a poor showing of bad standards in governance deserves a further US credit reduction by Standard and Poor’s before Christmas. Or, as Santa Claus might say, “That’s what happens when you’re naughty rather than nice.”

The annual Thanksgiving turkey-holocaust thankfully shortened the US stock market work week to three days putting a triptafen turkey leg to plug a hole bleeding market drops so that the Dow Jones Industrial’s three-day slide from Monday through Wednesday only hemorrhaged around 500 points. Rumblings out of Berlin that Germany might not pay Italy’s bills after all had a lot to do with this drop – perhaps more than the super committee cop out nearly everyone anticipated. The rumors echoing out of German banks strengthen the opinion that Italy’s large economy, the third largest in the euro monetary union, will not be too big to fail in 2012, but too big to “bail.”

No holiday for Europe last week, but thank goodness the Americans could stuff their faces and slump back into comfy chairs on Thursday in a triptafen flatulent turkey “meating” of sleepiness, watching with heavy lidded eye the NFL and college football games, the Cable TV marathons such as the Military Channel’s “Tanks”-giving. The next day, Black Friday, was the official Christmas holiday shopping season where retailers hope they’ll be “in the black” making profits as the consumers “Santa” their “closets” with sequestered presents for unwrapping under a slaughtered tree on 26 December. Christmas shopping can be a Christmas Tale, a retail-ing of good cheer that can account for 40 percent of all profits made per year.

NATO convoys on happier days when Pakistani customs let them rumble over the border into Afghanistan.

Friday through Saturday, Americans were shopping and by Saturday evening getting tripped out dozy on leftover turkey, pleasantly unaware for the most part that US-Pakistan relations that day had fallen to an all time low after NATO drones blasted a few dozen Pakistani border guards mistaken for Taliban fighters. Islamabad closed the Hindu Kush road, a key lifeline for US and NATO supply convoys rumbling into land-locked Afghanistan. What with Kirgizstan’s new president ready to let the US lease run out on an airbase key to supplying US forces in Afghanistan, I imagine American forces occupying Afghanistan could come home far sooner than 2014, as my oracle predicted. Most of them by the end of 2012, even.

Turkey Rapture! It happens every November in America.

Well, that is all the time I can spare today on writing blogs. I have to get back to Predictions for 2012. I am on a writing blitzkrieg since 16 November when principle writing unleashed an avalanche of words pouring into my Mac mini an average of 3,500 to 4,500 words a day! It appears like I am giving labor to what will pop out as a very large boned literary baby. The bad news is, I’m not sure it will be finished and ready to send it as early as I wanted to in December, initially to all those who have advanced its cost of $12.50 or more as a donation to HogueProphecy. The good news is my prophecies for 2012 are going to be the richest of all my annual almanac entries in content and the number predictions, so a think the little longer wait will be more than worth it.

My oracle has A LOT to share about the events of 2012. Some amazing stuff has come like lightning through these fluttering fingers over the keypad. I am averaging bringing into the world in first draft a chapter a day. Because 2012 is so significant in Mayan astronomical and astrological reckoning the subplot of it will be rich in the astrological examinations so many of my readers enjoy. Not only are there forecasts using Western Astrological traditions but Chinese too as we “enter the Dragon”, Bruce Lee style so to speak with yesterday’s chapter entry, The Year of the Water Dragon blowing Economic Bubbles. The day before that I brought into the world the oracle’s redefinition of a new clash of civilizations forthcoming on the global economic front called Dominion versus Democracy.

I don’t eat turkey or make a big deal about Thanksgiving Day 2011, because this November holiday reminds me more about 9 November’s Kristallnacht than a date to celebrate being thankful, because it marks an important milestone in the Native American Holocaust as those of you who have read my controversial articles already know (click on Thanksgiving Day).

No Turkey, not even Tofurkey for me. I was writing on that holiday. I think I finished the oracle’s report on the US presidential elections in 2012, entitled: Primates in Primaries for President. The chapters are coming through my fingers out of sequence. My memory of what came through and when is now a blur that only my next edit run-through, which must begin as soon as I post this, begins with a ruthlessly compassionate editorial cut and pasting – sometimes plastering – what is written into shape.

Therefore, that is it for fresh words for today’s weekly blog until my forecasts for 2012 are entered, edited and completed, hopefully soon. INGRID (Weithers-Barati): Worldwide there’s great concern over genetically engineered crops [corn, soybean, sugar beet, cotton, and most recently alfalfa, to name a few], and its effect on our food supply. What is the point? Is this all about profits? Politics? Control?

What indeed is the point?

Understanding the human mind that asks such questions.

Understanding first how this human mind imposed on us is conditioned to see things in a narrow pigeonhole of self-interest. For instance, the question asked. It is colored and supported by a certain narrow interest in food purity. That sentiment is noble, but it stands on the idea that food seems only now to be dramatically re-engineered away from its purity by technology.

Is that indeed the case?

If it was not for ancient Dr. Frankensteins who genetically altered wild corn -- Teosinte ( left) -- into the big-kerneled pop-corn bangin' modern kind, we could not have sustained our modern civilization this far.

Genetic engineering of food is at least 5,000 years old — as old as human agriculture itself. If you are truly a food purist, stop eating any form of corn because this fundamental foodstuff of the world is one of the earliest Frankenfoods. Millennia ago, corn was similar to a grass stalk. People began mutating it through low-tech genetic engineering until it became its giant, monstrously kernel rich form we take for granted as “pure” food today.

What big agricultural business is doing to explore and alter food genetically is nothing new. Most of our pure foods like wheat and rice are mutant food. Pure “bread” is “bred” mutations over centuries, thank goodness! Otherwise, a true purist would have to run naked in the wilds and return to the gathering of sparsely nourishing grains of the wilds like Neolithic peoples.

I suggest that is a wrong concern. It is a weed of a concern ignoring the weed’s root problem. If you tear up the weeds without exposing and pulling out the root problem, you only make more weeds.

The root concern underneath all motivations of ancient to modern genetic engineering is how to feed an ever-growing population. The Green Revolution is taking a radical turn to more daring genetic engineering in our times not solely to make money for agri-businessmen, but to sustain supply to a catastrophically growing demand.

One can and should be concerned about the new and radically risky ways agri-business scientists are altering our food because some of these could result in apocalyptic consequences — global famines foreseen by many prophets down through history that have a contemporary sheen (as we will see below). However, be aware that the genetically engineered “medicine”, though it is dangerous, is not the “sickness”. The sickness is human unconsciousness that goes on demanding like a mindless bark beetle more than the agriculture can sustain, while we “un-think”, like rats that humans can go on breeding more and more people the human range cannot sustain.

One can forgive the bark beetle or the rat for just being an animal, following its instinct to eat and breed as much as it can, because the job of balancing its numbers is beyond its pea-sized mind’s understanding. Nature comes and culls the rats with disease and famine to restore balance to its numbers.

I can forgive the animal, but I cannot forgive the human being, blessed with potential sentience, blessed with a huge brain that can “see” and “think” and reason beyond instinct what needs to be done to restore balance to the world.

Forgive me for repeating my rat-to-human analogy. Compassion compels me to, because most of you who are reading this are not absorbing this reality beyond an intellectual titillation. Most of you will read this and think about it, because it entertains you to do so. Then you will blink and go back to consuming, breeding and feasting like rats. In the next 20 years, many of you reading this today will starve and be extinguished like mindless rats when you could have lived like men and women of consciousness. You could have rediscovered the blessing of consciousness potential, found a way to lower your population and sustain food production until the population explosion begins to naturally flame out after the mid-21st century.

I have to lay out this painful potential of a ratty future before every person reading this. Not to be proven right, mind you, but to galvanize urgency in each of you to change that destiny from happening to you and your children.

Every human being’s core concern should be this:

Do I go on living like a rat and dying like a rat? Or, do I discover and access the intelligent resource of this wonderful brain to live and flourish like a human being who thinks, reasons, is aware of the balances of nature, and thus not live as just an instinctive pawn of nature?

Back to your question. Let us focus on its ending this time as we read through it: Worldwide there’s great concern over genetically engineered crops [corn, soybean, sugar beet, cotton, and most recently alfalfa, to name a few], and [genetic engineering's] effect on our food supply. What is the point? Is this all about profits? Politics? Control?

Allow me to help you consider a new angle on the PPPC’s: the point, the profits, the politics and the control of food sustainability.

Let's get "rat" to the point.

The point is keeping food production up with the demand. The rise of more affluent middle classes across the world is adding another United States-sized 300-million, high energy and high calorie consumers for the planet’s burdened agribusiness to satisfy

The point is far more than mere corporate greed for more riches. Economic survival motivates dangerous genetic engineering of food products. For instance, what would happen if the demands for higher caloric sustenance of emergent middle classes, added to the many more new mouths of the poor to feed continues to produce a shortfall of supply?

Supply is not being met now. That is why food prices are climbing to their highest levels in human history and are expected to jump even higher in the next six to eight months. Thus it is that we put more pressure on agri-businesses to genetically engineer some “wonder-food” producing grains and vegetables increasing volumes of supply, lowering prices.

If prices do not lower, this hyperinflation of the global food market will see it collapse. The agri-business could go out of business with catastrophic consequences to civilization; in other words, no more profits, a collapse of political order and control of the streets.

So, it is about profits — bringing the price of food down by increasing yields because though agri-businesses may be making some of the highest profits in their history in 2011, these prices are destroying their market’s ability to pay for the product. Keeping prices high is like shooting a hole through your lifeboat stacked with money in a storm.

It is about politics — if the agri-business cannot find a way to meet demand and prices climb to a point where civil society cannot afford to eat, you get revolutions, like those erupting in Tunisia, Egypt, Bahrain and Yemen. You get a bloodbath of civil war in Libya, which can no longer pay for food shipments until the fighting is over. If the fighting goes on for months, it feeds a higher price. A higher price feeds famine. Famine feeds more civil wars and so on it goes unto agri-business bankruptcy!

It is about control — or better, law and order. Without affordable food coming from a bountiful increased supply, there will be revolutions and upheavals. However, do not take that to mean I am in support of those control freaks that dictate from the palaces of Arab nations, or those agri-business corporate dictators that try to control growing by exporting one-yield-only seeds. Dictators of a political or an agricultural cloth are an impediment to human food sustainability. However, the democratic movements in the Middle East and North Africa are going to find a world after their dictators have fallen that still cannot feed and sustain itself, as the system exists now.

What would you have the agri-businesses do to increase yields? Growing a community Recession Garden may help you, but backyard farm plots in developed nations will not supply the world’s growing food demands. Indeed, if you grow your own, that is good for your food budget but taking your mouths out of the economy will only raise food prices higher elsewhere where backyard gardens are not a sustainable solution. Your garden will sustain you but I predict upheaval and hunger in the Middle East will see your gas prices in America jump to $5 a gallon by autumn 2011 and $7 a gallon by the Winter solstice of 2012.*

I am not saying you should not grow your own food. This is necessary. It is one of the steps in the solution. Keep moving to the other steps. The world needs a globally supported food price standard set that can equally sustain agricultural industries and political stability. You must lobby your leaders for a Global Food Summit while you sew crops in your community gardens too.

*UPDATE from today: I am happy to see this prediction’s timing is wrong. Global oil is entertaining a jump above the $100 a barrel mark last week. Gas pricing is still high in America, approaching $4 a gallon, but I am off a buck for autumn 2012. May my predictions about gasoline prices remain too high. Still, expect $5 gas at the pumps in 2012. The $7 a gallon “petrol-geddon” price may come after 2012, or not at all, I hope.

As the disaster-ridden month of June draws down and prescience draws its breath before gazing into the augur’s bowl of water to divine through hydromancy, what trembling images will project upon the surface for July? I wish to address this concern.

Something doesn’t feel right, at all, for July… I do not know what will be brewing in that particular month, but it really terrifies me. I am having trouble sleeping again, in just thinking on it. On some days I almost feel like I am in a race with a giant event of some kind, looming over the horizon, or stark panic, hidden just beyond those self-encouraging thoughts. But mere thoughts cannot hold back what seems intent on manifesting…

Many readers report this collective feeling. I think these feelings are unique for our times because humanity itself is undergoing a global existential crisis. Our civilization is under threat from perpetuating our own fossilized traditions and stupid habits. The point of collapse for human and ecological sustainability is on the horizon. It is coming no later than the 2020s, but I think it is coming sooner. Already I have identified the year 2011 as one where alarms of unsustainable behavior begin ringing in food, weather and population sustainability. Humanity must now grow up. The world cannot long endure our immaturity and is beginning to heat us, rain us, wind us, flood us and ultimately shake us off her back if we don’t change our collectively unconscious ways.

Up to the approaching mid-point of 2011, we had cleanly clocked one major natural or politically regional changing disaster per month. With May it started to become more difficult to choose only one a month. June is crowded with candidates. But before we tackle June which is, as the song goes, “busting out all over”, let us review the months before it burst:

January: Australian monsoonal flood inundating most of Queensland.

February: The disaster for dictators, the Arab Spring Revolutions. Then comes the Libyan Civil War.

March: Japanese superquake and tsunami.

April: Killer tornado outbreaks in the US South.

May: Historic river floods on the Mississippi then the Missouri Rivers. Hundreds killed by an EF5 tornado flattening Joplin, Missouri.

June: What a spinning Carosel! It is hard to pick one to ride. There are so many. We had an eruption of one of the worst fire seasons in the US Southwest and Southeast in June that includes the Wallow Fire becoming the greatest in Arizona’s recorded history. My pick for June’s disaster number one is a fire and smoke maker of another kind, the Chilean volcanic eruption sending an ash cloud twice around the Southern Hemisphere, disrupting air flights in and out of Australia and New Zealand for weeks. A disaster that affects worldwide climate takes my vote.

Certainly, June had other alarms to ring awake humanity to a world that will no longer tolerate it. We have the lingering nuclear disaster brewing in Fukushima Japan. A huge, wind whipped fire threatens the nuclear laboratory at Los Alamos, New Mexico, where a lot of nuclear materials are stacked in drums in the open air. Floods along the Missouri threaten the Fort Calhoun nuclear reactor near Wichita, Nebraska. This same reactor had its water coolant pumps shut down for 90 minutes on 7 June, (click on Anthony Wiener). A no fly zone was initiated by the government with the lame excuse that it protected people from flying high over the flood waters, despite the fact that Fort Calhoun’s nuclear installation was cited as the problem, not the whole Missouri flood plain.

Sunday, 26 June 2011, one of the inflatable dikes around the plant collapsed letting in flood waters. The government spokesmen said there was no problem. The next day (27 June 2011), they admit the reactor’s water coolant system is once again on backup generators but bristle at the comparison of Fort Calhoun to Fukushima.

Anyway, on 25 June, just two days before the dike deflated, Gary wrote in my comments page that the Missouri flood was June’s number one disaster adding a little Ice Age prediction as a chaser:

John my pick is the extreme flooding of the [Missouri] River. This is largely being caused by the melting of the record setting snow pack. I don’t believe it is global warming. The needed sun blocking and but the beginning of a new ice age.

The extreme volcanism is supposed to be the part that brings the needed sun blocking and moisture from unferwater [underwater?] volcanoes.

Belief has nothing to do with facts, Gary. I will go into why climate change denial is a symptom of another sign of the end of a civilization as we have known it when I get to Kercelia’s comment below. What I will explain here is that record-braking snowfall is EXACTLY evidence of global warming. A generally heating up world atmosphere retains more moisture. Moisture is the gas that drives more violent energy in weather. Scientists have often forecast, based on extrapolating their evidence, that the first stages of a warming climate change would visit record breaking snowfall in winter with record breaking fires and floods in the spring and summer. So, it looks like we are well on our way to a warming climate change cascade.

Now, to volcanic eruptions blocking the Sun’s rays causing warming to cease (I guess that is what you were trying to write.) They have to be big. Really big, like the eruption on a magnitude seen in prehistoric times at the end of the Cretaceous Era, such as the Deccan Traps. These were a series of volcanic eruptions near present day Mumbai, India, spanning a period of 30,000 years creating a 123,000-cubic mile pool of lava the size of half the Indian Subcontinent.

Other than that, eruptions at best can only press upon us ash cloud induced ice ages only a few months or a few years in duration. Even a super volcanic eruption like that expected someday in the Yellowstone region might cause a Nuclear Winter style ice age, with dust and ash clouds blocking out the sun for 6 months to a few years. Catastrophic as that would be, it would not cause a return of a lingering 100,000-year long Ice Age. Indeed, once the heaviest elements of ash filter out of the skies the sulfuric compounds and other green house gases left behind as aerosols will stay far longer aloft trapping the suns rays inside the atmosphere even more efficiently than before, causing a spike in global warming.

The Mount Pinatubo’s eruption in 1991 is a prime example of this. Because of the volcanic plume, we had a general cooling of the climate for several years during the 1990s. However, as I accurately predicted back then, once the sun’s rays were no longer blocked by a thin ceiling of ash cloud, the lighter, invisible compounds floating in the high atmosphere did generate a climate changing, global warming spike in 1998 and word temperatures have been spiking on ever since.

Here was that prediction published in 1994:

Although the eruption of Mt. Pinatubo (June 1991) has cooled off the world temperatures for the mid-90s the heat is on with a vengeance by 1998. With this interpretation in mind we can expect a wave of global droughts by July 1998. From that time onward global warming steadily kicks in disrupting weather patterns and the movement of climate conditions needed to grow grain.

I think that people are so out of tune with what is really happening due to a constant need to be entertained. Everything these days seems to be in competition as to what is the most outrageous. With the advent of round-the-clock entertainment via the TV and other media, people just don’t care what’s happening as long as they are being entertained.

This rush to be entertained is a symptom of civilizations on the brink of collapse. They idle away the last momentum they have left in distractions and entertainment. Look at Rome and its insatiable lust for blood letting of criminals, Christian cultists and animals in the Coliseum.

The 18th-century Ancien Regime of France (the French kings and aristocratic class) sought distractions rather than sorted out looming problems. The movie Dangerous Liaisons presents that quite accurately. Even Louis XV predicted that his successor would see the Deluge that he neither could prevent nor cared to prevent, degenerating, as was his moribund culture of blue blooded entitlement. Thus he dead-handed over the crown to his stodgy, unimaginative grandson, Louis XVI, who along with his queen and many a French aristocrat went to the guillotine during the French Revolution.

A predilection to disconnect from realities and pressing challenges is a symptom of the end of cultures cycling down to full entropy. Denial of realities, white washing them with a darling, politically correct euphemism climate change is just another Maria Antoinette moment.

When Louis XVI’s Austrian born and publicly unpopular queen was told of famine and bread riots spreading across France with the inherent danger to the monarchy’s stability overlooked, she shrugged her powdered bejeweled shoulders and said, “Let them eat cake!”

(Whether Marie A. actually said this is disputed by historians; however, the perception that she did say this was popularly “entertained” by the poor people grumbling in bread lines about the queen and court’s documented excesses, wantonly pursued to abandon while the people starved. Civilizations approaching their nadir choose to be entertained by myths rather than encounter and remedy hard facts.)

Our global civilization in a state of entropy has its “let them eat cake” term for global warming. The “cake” is “climate change”.

The euphemism puts us at ease with some sweet but factually white washing frosting spread to decorate and make palatable what is soon to cascade in increasing mean temperature rises around the world because of the unbridled increase of human manufactured pollution.

Now we turn to a comment left by Becky. She is watching the mounting seismic activity in the Pacific Rim (AKA the Ring of Fire). She is tying that to potential food sustainability problems that for me echo the bread lines of 18th-century Paris and a doomed-in-denial queen who eventually had to eat her “let them eat cake” words a few years later with a blood chaser foaming out of her own severed head falling in a basket. (Eeeeoooo! Let’em eat “nape”.)

There seems to be a build up for another massive quake in the northern part of the ring of fire. There was a 6.7 in Japan a few days ago followed by a 7.2 in the Aleutian chain. The ring [of fire] is having a doozey of a conversation. How are our food stores going to hold up?

HOGUE
I would say the time has come to store food and water for many reasons, not only breakdowns that might happen because of earthquakes.

Perhaps this is a good time to review and add to some of my predictions concerning violent earth and climate changes logged shortly after the great quake and tsunami in Japan last March.

My oracle gave me the message that the Philippines would be among the next hit. An eruption did take place on the island of Luzon but nothing yet to match the scale my oracle intended; however, it was correct about a powerful aftershock hitting Christchurch. Here is the quote:

My oracle predicts the danger would be moving south of Honshu Island into the equatorial or southern hemispheric areas. Be prepared in Kyushu Island (Japan), Okinawa (Japan), the Philippines, Indonesia, all the way south to Christchurch for more strong aftershocks in New Zealand after that devastating quake several weeks ago. Christchurch suffered a 5.5 and a powerful 6.0 temblor on 13 June knocking out power to 50,000 homes. As for the Philippines, I might have misread the message and would like for the record to amend my prediction. The quake off the Honshu coast of Japan may have pressed added pressure to the collision point between the Philippine and Japanese tectonic plates where they meet just south of the mouth of Tokyo Harbor. The recent 6.7 aftershock is just another pressurizing nudge. Most tectonic scientists are far more concerned that a second quake may unhinge the mouth of Tokyo Bay, sending a catastrophic quake and tsunami rolling into the world’s most populous city. Such quakes have been responsible in the past for shaking Mt Fuji wide black-ash-cloud-eyed awake. This could happen in July but is more likely to happen later in September or November. I will explain below.

Mt. Puyehue eruption.

The essence of the oracle’s seismic prophecies written after the 11 March Japanese temblor and tsunami have been so far correct being as they were more volcanic in nature. We had Grimsvotn volcano in Iceland disrupt air traffic, albeit briefly across Europe with ash clouds for a few days in the latter half of May 2011. June had the Chilean Puyehue volcano, 500 miles south of Santiago, blasting to life three weeks ago. It has already disrupted air traffic in lower South America, South Africa and especially across Australia and New Zealand for a few weeks. July is coming and we do not know what it could do next. The Chilean eruption is definitely the ash cloud of consequence. We will have to see what that does to the southern Hemisphere’s weather. It could bring a temporary cooling of the climate if the eruption goes on through July and August, but as I said earlier, that will just set the stage for another climate warming spike a year down time’s road. What is significant to remember is the last time Puyehue erupted was 1960; the same year Chile suffered the most powerful earthquake ever measured by modern instruments at magnitude 9.5. There is a connection between this volcano and major quakes and we might hope the 8.8 temblor back in 2010 was the tectonic tit for tat, but I do not think so.

No quakes hit the Pacific Northwest from the latter half of April into early May. I had been warned by a reader who is head of a coven of forecasters to leave the area. She no longer likes me but was compassionate enough to send her forecast, prophetically inaccurate as they often are (see earthquake predictions). To be fair she is not the only one who got a prediction wrong. Mine for a possible seismic event in California around the full moon in Taurus in May 2011 did not transpire. Still California is way past overdue for a large-scale quake from San Francisco directly bestride the San Andreas Fault Line constricting earth and rock all the way south and inland from Los Angeles and San Diego. Even Monday, the Wall Street Journal posted a story about growing concern over the southern segment of the San Andreas Fault near Lost Angeles and San Diego cutting loose. The San Andreas under what is called the Palmdale Bulge swells without pressure release for 300 years and counting. The WS Journal’s article focused on the economic impact on a fragile world economy if Los Angeles should rock and roll with a quake of 7.8 magnitude.

I am not getting any Southern Cal quake for July yet, or August for LA, but I am concerned for Southern California, the Pacific Northwest, Japan’s Tokyo Bay-Mt. Fuji region for late September and again in November.

I will let Manuel lead us into that prediction.

John, your very accurate on your deciphering of Nostradamus and your own intuitive prophesies, good job. Last night I listened to a man named Carl Johan Calleman a guest on Coast to Coast AM you might have heard this interview also if not he had some very interesting topic on the Mayan long count calendar. He claimed the end of the calendar is actually Oct. 28 2011 other then Dec. 2011 it will coincide with the arrival of the comet Elenin and another comet that follows it. He say’s he’s studied the calendar for more then 15 yrs. During this time period there will be many upheavals to the planet as well as our global civilization. Elenin could possibly be the brown dwarf [star]?

First, let us deal with the idiotic. I am adding this bit in italics a few hours after posting this blog so that what I have to say is loud and presciently clear: Doomsday — whether it is projected for the world or if it is doomsday imagined for people’s collective unconsciousness, suddenly, magically going “poof” in a collective shift of consciousness — are both just two sides of the same coin of New Age idiocy. There are two kinds of Chicken Littles who misinterpret the signs either for doomsday or bloomsday. The sky doesn’t have to fall. Chicken little can think something fell out of the sky and knocked some enlightenment into him too. Here then is my prediction about Calleman: He will soon be remembered (or soon forgotten) as one in a long line of history’s Chicken Littles, who got struck by an imaginative idea, unsubstantiated by reality and then went peeping off all fuss and feathered about dates of doomsday light or dark, Mayan or otherwise that came and went without fanfare. The people of the distant future will tell you that there is no special date in a calendar that makes human enlightenment happen. If not now, then, there is no other time to harmonically converge, so put your plastic wands away and come back to the ground upon which you stand inside the body-mind in which you watch the mind and its flights of chicken flapping, feathers frapping, imagination — 2012 twenty-shelved. Come here with your intelligence, with your energy, with your love. Come HERE. Be here. Do it every “now.”

Anyway, Calleman aside, we just enjoyed such a goofsday last month anticipated for years by street billboards of a squatting man seeming to be scared-sh*tless, filling his britches, because the Rapture was set for 21 May 2011, click on end of the world.

Now to something far more plausible. Elenin is a comet, not a brown dwarf or cold star. Yet, as it approaches our solar system and as the orbiting earth lined up with it and the Sun a significant earthquake took place either that very same day or within a few days. The first alignment coincided with a magnitude 8.8 quake hit the Chilean coast sending a Pacific wide tsunami on 27 February 2010. Next came a 7.2 temblor shaking up Christchurch, New Zealand on 4 September 2010. The third alignment of Sun-Earth-Elenin happened, as Melvin correctly pointed out in his comment, on 15 March, four days after 11 March 2011 when Japan’s 9.0 quake crushed and later drowned over 25,000 people and knocked out four nuclear reactors along the northeast Honshu coastline with a vast flooding tsunami that also sent waves reverberating across surface of the Pacific Ocean.

Discovery of this alignment-quake connection came from the last people in the world — astronomers — who want to feed any interest in Astrology’s belief that heavenly bodies, even as small as comets, somehow influence the fates of people and the world, but there it was, reported by none other than the JPL (Jet Propulsion Laboratory) Small Body Database Browser. Three exact and major seismic disasters hit exactly on three days of alignment.

What do they have to say for that?

JPL’s astrology debunkers give the established, dogmatic sci-spiel, that small cometary bodies crossing Earth’s path millions of miles away cannot have any gravitational influence on the Earth, blah blah…

It is a feint of Scientism to sidestep something rather than face it. The astrologer in me retorts that the Elenin lineup might be the first clear evidence of another force other than gravity that heavenly bodies impress upon personal and collective destinies of humanity. A true scientist would not spout canon law like a pope’s grand inquisitor but would instead be true to the path of knowing — which is what scire, the Latin root for Science — demands. Three earthquake hits out of three may be more than chance working its irrational magic, though I would not rule that out. Still, the honest scientific answer beyond shrugging it off as a coincidence might be to say there is some force out there they have yet to discover.

What dodge will those who promote Scientism Inquisitions say if Elenin scores four or five temblors to five lineups?

The JPL Small Body Database Browser tells us of two more alignments of Elenin with the Sun and Earth coming on 26 September and 23 November 2011.

Coincident or an oncoming incident, would five hits be something worth preparing for?

I usually do not tell people to anticipate events on a specific date, unless terrorist — domestic and foreign — are planning acts of violence based on playing a numbers game. For instance, once should always be a little more alert for white supremacist domestic terrorism — such as the Columbine, Colorado, school shooting — every 20th of April because it is Hitler’s birthday. Al-Qaeda likes to hit targets on number puns for emergency codes, like 9/11, or play with 7s and 11s. Some lone jihadist might try something 7/4/11 this year, so be watchful.

This Elenin phenomenon is different. It is just a happening, like the orbit of planets that astrologers like myself in these pages, have shown have a direct correlation to the timing of natural disasters. See earthquakes.

I will tell my readers today that earthquake preparedness and tsunami preparedness is a prudent thing to entertain for the next line-ups of Elenin scheduled for 26 September and 23 November. The fact that lineup number four happens close to the Spring/Autumnal equinoxes of the Southern and Northern Hemispheres adds cosmic significance. The 26th is bracketed by the Equinox on the 23rd and a New Moon on the 27th. I would suggest being prepared four days before and beyond the 26th.

As I have often stated, major earthquakes take place on or closely associated in time with New and Full Moons. Many of history’s deadliest earthquakes happen when Uranus is undergoing a significant 90-degree square aspect. It so happens that Uranus in Aries (fire sign = volcanoes) will still be in its long-term square of Pluto in Capricorn (earth sign = earthquakes) on 26 September. Moreover, Uranus will be in retrograde motion whilst Pluto the week before will have come out of retrograde moving direct — another signature in the cosmos that causes quakes on Earth. Mars, by the way, will be trined with Uranus. That is usually a positive aspect, but the term positive can also cover a positive movement of tectonic plates that the planet sometimes needs to thrust about for its own positive evolution, despite what it might do to the little human fleas on its dancing backside.

Given the regularity of Comet Elenin’s lineups so far, look to the days around 26 September as the most dangerous time this year for natural, economic or political disasters.

Black fire flashing in his eyes, President Obama late night addressed his nation and confirmed in action what my oracle had foreseen and anticipated 21 months ago, even though it long remained a lone prescient voice in a wilderness of future gazers who just did not believe Obama meant what he said. Well, he does mean what he said about withdrawing US troops from Afghanistan, starting next month, July 2011 and by the time July 2012 comes around he pledged that 33,000 US soldiers will leave Afghanistan. My oracle believes that number will be far higher as we will see.

Lex, the web master of the Coast to Coast AM, produced this concise and comprehensive overview of the subjects George Noory and I tackled the night before in a radio show broadcast across North America (click on Coast to Coast AM)

“Appearing during all 4 hours of the show, prophecy scholar and expert on Nostradamus, John Hogue discussed his predictions for 2009, the future of the economy and the Obama presidency, and also touched on Nostradamus’ writings about the Antichrist. In reviewing some of his previously published predictions for 2009, Hogue reported that he’d been accurate about foreseeing Obama handling three international crises by the early spring, and that the new Republican Party chairman would be an African American.

“Obama will be a two-term president, but he won’t come into his own until his second term, when he’ll evolve from being an agent of compromise to fighting to change the system, Hogue stated… The war in Afghanistan will turn into a quagmire, like Iraq was to the Bush administration, and the US will disengage from the conflict sometime between 2010 – 2013, he predicted.

ASSESSMENT
If you link to that archived show you will hear me tell George Noory that Obama would initiate a troop surge of 40,000 soldiers but he would put an 18 month deadline on the troop surge and begin pulling US forces out of Afghanistan. It is important to remember that when I said this in early September 2009, Obama was months away from deciding on the troop surge. There was no talk of a deadline until he later announced his plans in December of 2009 to put an 18-month deadline on the surge securing Afghanistan amounting to an added 33,000 US and 8,000 NATO troops (40,000 in all).

In a blog posted 8 October 2009, click on Afghanistan War, I made the following observation based on a prediction signed off nearly 9 months earlier on 24 January 2009, see italics:

The future historians will tell you what I say now: America lost the war in Afghanistan at the Battle of Tora Bora. If Obama is seduced into thinking by a blast of CEOs-in brass at the Pentagon that he can win what was lost by digging in deeper into that broken chaos of a corruptly ungovernable country, he will fulfill my warning passed for the prophetic record in Predictions for 2009 [published on 24 January 2009]:

I see in Obama a Kennedy-like obsession about going into Afghanistan and perhaps even Pakistan to hunt down Usama bin Laden…

Is that sign of blunder coming to test Obama’s first year in office?

Yes! Mars passes through Cancer from 8/26/09 to 10/17/09.

We wait to see if Obama will Kennedy or L. B. Johnson himself into his own ill-aspected Mars in Cancer Vietnam. (The Gulf of Tonkin Incident in 1964 under Johnson’s watch, which became grounds for the Vietnam War, happened under the same [astrological] aspect.) The other recourse is to ignore the rush of war and visualize Obama begin a methodical strategic retreat that will see US involvement in Afghanistan all but end in the next three years.

I am of the oracular mind that Obama will dramatically increase US military involvement for a time much shorter than the Pentagon chiefs want in hopes of dramatically seeking out and destroying al-Qaeda, even though it is no longer strategically significant and could very well be the cause of the collapse of Pakistan as I warned in Predictions for 2009.

ASSESSMENT
Obama did make his momentous decision to surge troops into Afghanistan during the Mars in Cancer transit; however, he is on record being mindful of the mistakes of Johnson in Vietnam and has said he would not keep US forces trapped in a strategically untenable situation. Though most news network talking expert heads dismissed this possibility for the next 18 months of a serious withdrawal, my oracle did not.

The oracle’s views were reflected in prophecies for 2010 signed off on 1 November 2009:

Afghanistan under Obama is little different in popular opinion than Afghanistan under eight years of Bush indecision. The country wants the troops home, however Obama seems poised to listen to the brass and bemedaled Pentagon CEOs of the military industrial complex who want to keep the war business there going on. He’s sending a lot more troops soon, unless I’ve happily misread my oracle.

Predictions for 2010

ASSESSMENT
A month later, on 2 December 2009, Obama announced his troop surge in Afghanistan in a speech held at the US Military Academy at West Point. In the next passage my oracle anticipated in detail the surge, the number of NATO and US troops in the surge, the record combat casualties to come in 2010, the bloodiest losses in the war so far, and the timeline for surge troop withdrawals to begin 18 months later (July 2011):

When Obama reads about the mistakes of Vietnam he should avoid turning Afghanistan into his own “Vietnamistan” by enabling what President Kennedy planned but Vice President Johnson ignored. Kennedy had the intestinal and strategic fortitude to plan a withdrawal from South Vietnam and cut US losses early in his second term. Assassination and Johnson’s ascent to the presidency ended that plan. Johnson poured in more troops and there we have his cautionary tale. If Obama isn’t careful, all of his good will, political capital and dreams of changing America will be squandered in an obsession of deeper involvement in Afghanistan. Obama’s change revolution undermined just like Johnson’s Great Society.

Beware of it in 2010 Mr. Obama because I know you will raise US troop involvement in Afghanistan to its highest level. You will endure tolls of American dead and wounded per month as high as the Iraq Occupation at its peak. I also discern with oracular help that you have bargained with the Pentagon to affect a compromise strategy. The generals prevailed upon you to receive their 40,000-troop increase, but you will counter putting the surge on a short time leash of 18 months. If Afghani urban civilian populations aren’t protected and their infrastructure improved, if the endemic corruption of Afghani government isn’t hosed down to a tolerable stink. If moderate Taliban supporters don’t have a “Taliban awakening” akin to the Sunni awakening, the true source of the Iraqi Surge success, if Taliban and al-Qaeda bases aren’t closed and cratered by the Pakistanis, then President Obama, you will pull all US troops out of Afghanistan in time for the 2012 presidential elections

ASSESSMENT
The final lines above give glimpse to the future after July 2011. At the time of this assessment (23 June 2011), there are hopeful signs of negotiations between the warring Pashtun factions: the Karzai Regime US forces prop up talking with elements of the Taliban insurgency leadership. I do foresee a political solution coming in the wake of troop withdrawals that will precipitate more troops leaving Afghanistan than announced yesterday by President Obama in his current time table: 10,000 by autumn 2011 followed by another 22,000 by Summer 2012. My oracle commented on this possibility while enlarging its vision when I signed off on the following prophecies for 2011 on 21 December 2010:

21 December 2010:
Obama will make 2011 the year of “terrible twos” for his liberal and antiwar base. He’ll try to win Republican favor by extending the Bush tax cuts another two years. He will announce that the deadline to begin combat troop withdrawal in Afghanistan set for July 2011 will be pushed back two years. A date for ending the war pushed two years after that to 2014.

(Let me state for the premonitory record: this isn’t what will really happen. These pledges of intent by the president are “just words”. He will begin the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan in July 2011. Moreover, Iraq will be emptied of all but around 15,000 military advisors by the end of 2011.)

…What will happen in Afghanistan in 2011?

I’ve predicted for a while now that tribal solutions between Taliban and Hamid Karzai-leaning Pashtuns is the only potentially positive solution. Obama will bust a Nixon-in-Vietnam move. He’ll cut losses declaring “Peace with Honor”. The Pashtuns will then bring back what was once called the “national covenant” that had ended with the deposing of the Afghan king by Soviet forces invading Afghanistan in 1979. The covenant will return by 2012 as a frail political creature, a loose association of tribal leaders ruling like warlords and mafia bosses in a patchwork kingdom with a weak federal center, granting strong autonomy to tribal warlords.

I will close this review of prophetic successes with a review of my interpretation of a Nostradamus prophecy about the advent of a “Black King” who I believed is America’s first African American President destined to take troops into Pakistan and kill a top candidate for Nostradamus’ third Antichrist, Osama bin Laden. The segment is from Nostradamus and the Antichrist Code Named: Mabus (see the e-book, click on Nostradamus). This passage is one of the earliest oracular assessments I recorded about a game-changing event in the Afghanistan conflict, the killing of Usama bin Laden on the ground in Pakistan by US Special Forces. I wrote this in the summer of 2008 publishing it at the end of September 2008. Note the passage in red:

A right interpretation depends on divining who is the subject of these vague third person personal and possessive pronouns. Play with it in French and the anagram Alus sanguinaire (Bloody Alus) becomes L’USA sanguinere (the bloody USA). Le noir (the black) may be an anagram for le roi n(oir): “the black king.” Earlier interpretations had a black robed Shia cleric of Iran or Iraq who makes the angry one, such as Saddam Hussein, repent; however, if this applies literally to an African American future president, then it might describe Barack Obama’s Iraq policy in future action.

The Greek Meso (between) potamia (two rivers) is Iraq geographically defined as the land between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers. This round of interpretation presumes President Bush the angry one made to repent his invasion of Iraq by Obama who pulls out combat troops in the first 16 months of his presidency. Another candidate for angry one is Usama bin Laden who will repent ordering al-Qaeda to infiltrate Iraq during the Bush administration. The Black president (king) will increase US forces in Afghanistan, killing or capturing Usama in a military incursion into Pakistan

History quickens again, especially in natural disasters. In the year of the 12 great catastrophes — one at least per month — it is hard to decide which historic event will win this dubious sweepstakes in June. Will it be the Arizona Wallow Fire, the state’s greatest fire in recorded history? Should we consider the “fire in the skies” of prolonged record-breaking heat waves across much of the southern and eastern portions of America? The 12,000 people of Minot, North Dakota, who must evacuate their flooding city? Shall we give the reward to the great volcanic eruption two weeks ago of Puyehue, the Chilean volcano, now sending an ash cloud a second time around the Southern Hemisphere disrupting flights in and out of Australia and New Zealand and covering wide areas of Chile and Argentina in ash?

I have been making US presidential predictions since Nixon beat Humphrey in 1968. Forty-four years later and with an 11-and-0 track record my oracle begins to see the shape of potentials to come in the 12th auguring. That is, I am beginning to get a clearer understanding who will lose either in a close election or a landslide against the candidate that for years now I have already and consistently predicted will win the 2012 election.

My predictions across 44 years often do not match my personal choices pushed into the ballot box every presidential election. What I have been saying on Coast to Coast AM and writing in these blogs since early 2009 has angered many of you who lean on the right politically. Now in fairness, my predictions today will attempt to make people on both extremes of the political spectrum have an opportunity to either be angry with the messenger or look at their political attachments.

I have said over the years that the one man who could defeat incumbent President Barack Obama will not be running in 2012. The man was a credible governor of a key, and economically vibrant US state. He was a capable leader during times of natural disasters and most importantly, someone who can tango with the hard core right during Republican primaries, get nominated and then do what Richard Nixon so shrewdly did in 1968, deftly moderate his message to woo the center where most American voters, the independents, the largest block of voters, politically live. The man who can beat Obama if he ran in 2012 had one problem though: the wrong name — Bush.

Former Florida State Governor Jeb Bush has his older brother’s name. Rightly or wrongly, President George W. Bush (2001-2009) is someone most Republicans want to stuff in the bag of forgetting where they stuffed Nixon. They want to dump that history and move on to take back the White House. Thus you have to white wash your hands of an administration that was in power when America suffered its deadliest, unprotected surprise attack, wiped out a national economic surplus, ballooned the national debt at record levels spending it on ruinous military occupations and nation building projects in Iraq and Afghanistan. Meanwhile, it did little to nothing to moderate Wall Street and Banking abuses, or reform a ballooning financially baloney housing market that deflated when the Great Recession crashed in as a catastrophic punctuation to eight catastrophically mediocre years in office.

Jeb Bush is politically intuitive as well. He knows that Bush Fatigue will keep him out of a presidential run. The US Senate is his next move and I predict that is as far as he will go up the political ladder this life.

Democratic and Republican Parties thrive on nourishing the short-term memories of the voting public. The Obama re-election campaign would waste a big portion of the billion dollars they will collect if they dump it in ads going down a sinkhole of Bush blame.

This Recession is now Obama’s Great Recession, as are the two economically ruinous military adventures in Iraq and Afghanistan. Obama now adds a new war in Libya and indirect military involvement to come in Syria. (Yes, that is coming, albeit under the auspices of a UN effort.)

Obama will have to own these wars and economic challenges if he wants to own success in solving them. Between now and the November 2012 presidential election night, he will take America out of Iraq and mostly out of Afghanistan as I predicted years ago.

The Libyan Civil war will go on, with indirect US logistical support well into 2013. That is despite today’s kafuffle of a constitutional dispute seeing both Democrats and Republican congressional legislators suing the president for ignoring the upcoming 60-day limit to prosecuting his war powers in Libya without congressional approval.

None of this will actually threaten Obama’s bid for a second term more than the rise of a new Ronald Reagan from Texas. If a Bush from Texas might have soured Jeb Bush’s future as president of the United States, a tall, God loving and charismatic Texan getting into the presidential political arena in the near future is the GOP’s Great White Hope against Obama in 2012.

Texas Governor Rick Perry has the best chance of beating the president after Jeb Bush. His social conservative merits are unquestioned, so the extreme right is mollified by his anti-abortion, anti-gay (do not ask do not tell), evangelical Christian beliefs that support “intelligent design” creationism as a viable scientific theory.

Perry’s long time marriage with his childhood sweetheart is morally solid. There is no Newt Gingrich talking up religious right themes while walking out on three marriages with three sinful and adulterous affairs. There is no Romney-care to explain or apologize for. Perry is pro-tax reform and pro-states rights to the point of thinking out loud about secession and he has publicly Goddamned the government he would captain if elected to Washington. He is pro-Life, pro-business with a big Texan “B”, pro-drilling baby drill and he is not a Mormon made of wooden personality wearing magic underwear. I am sorry, my Mormon readers, I must express a hard religious-political reality in the Grand Old Party. Enough core Republican primary voters view you as a cult that if they had a red-blooded, red-state governing, fire-breathing evangelical Christian to choose, the blue-state Mormon moderate Republican is out.

Perry is dashingly handsome too. Sorry Newt and your supporters. Ideas no matter how smart and compelling do not get a fat guy into the White House since President Taft a century ago.

Perry is pretty and he has the stature and avuncular Ameri-CAN machismo that all the best ideas wrapped in a corpulent, piggish body do not sell.

Heck! Perry even looks a bit like Ronald Reagan.

Perry has economic bragging rights Obama cannot yet match.

He runs a state that has weathered the Great Recession quite handily with respectable economic booms in the Austin Texas region, a growing housing market and a state economy that is on the move into the black — the black of Texas Tea, that is, black gold.

Texan success is based on something climate-illogically dubious: a fossil fuel industry set to take a fossil fuel-addicted global civilization down the toilet when the climate cascades out of control in the 2020s. That will not be a problem for Perry in the short term. Forget science for faith. Gather the votes and short-term memories of enough Republican voters for Perry in the primaries. A majoirity will believe as he believes that there is no climate change requiring a complete rethinking of business acumen. And anyway, many will endorse Perry’s rationale that whatever is going on with the climate is less important than you getting a job. You getting back to work no matter what the cost of sustaining our civilization or your children’s future on this fever wracked world must come first before we hug the trees.

If Perry enters the Republican race, he will quickly end the trajectory of other contenders. The GOP and the Democrats may have their designated nominees running for president a year before they are officially endorsed by the Democratic and Republican Conventions in the summer of 2012. Gone goes Palin, Gingrich, Bachman. Romney will spar with Perry through the primaries but he will lose his Republican moderate northern verses right wing fire-breathing southern state primary battles early on and the Republican show will be over by the Super Tuesday primary early in the year.

Then come the national elections.

If Perry runs, the presidential elections of 2012 will look more like 1860. States rights over Federal rights return in the national debate with the Federal side of the argument taken up not by a Caucasian emancipator of African Americans but an African American President.

Obama’s mysterious karmic relationship with Abraham Lincoln will see history repeat itself with a national election that will split states between Perry and Obama along the Mason-Dixon secession line. The Northern states go with Obama, just like Lincoln, only in 1860, southern states stayed out of the election preparing for secession.

In 2012, Perry will be the first major US Governor running of president who openly mused about secession since 625,000 Americans died in a civil war to prevent the breakup of the United States. During the 150th anniversary of year-two of the Civil War that saw the bloody battles of Second Bull Run, Antietam and Fredericksburg, Perry will win all the former Confederate states of that conflict, plus a few Border States like Missouri and Kentucky. The swing states will be in the Midwest and far West. A shadow of the civil war will cast itself on the political map of blue and red states in 2012 but the real danger of secession’s return is waiting in the 2020s.

Obama in 2012, like Lincoln waging the Civil War, will turn the ballot tide first in the West if he is to win re-election.

Perry is the only Republican after Jeb Bush who might make this election close enough to gain a disputed victory for the GOP, but he is less able than the Bush that cannot run. Still, I see might in the last sentence does not mean victory in the White House for the Right.

I predict Perry will lose because he is too extreme.

Obama will be a two-term president.

The future and the events they anticipate are having a convergence. The prophecies of Nostradamus about his Third and Final Antichrist, code named Mabus now pit the two front-runners, the late Saddam Hussein and the recently killed Usama (Osama) bin Laden, in an ever-closer race to be number one candidate for Antichrist. Usama is catching up with Saddam.

Here, for your review are the two core quatrain prophecies about Mabus, the Third Antichrist, indexed 2 Q62 and 8 Q77 in Nostradamus’ prophetic masterpiece Les Propheties, initially published in serialized form between the years 1555 and 1560:

Let us go through the milestones that Saddam and Usama tally up to be candidate number one. (A full examination of all the Nostradamus Antichrist prophecies and potential past and future candidates can be had by reading my e-book. Click on Antichrist.

Being a dead candidate is the first and dubious milestone both share. Both violently annihilated: Saddam was hanged at the 30 December 2006, Usama shot by US Navy seals on May Day 2011.

Both men’s names can be found in the code name Mabus. Saddam backwards spells maddas=mabbas=mabas. Replace one redundant a and you get Mabus. Usama mixed around get us maaus. Take the b from bin Laden. Replace the redundant a and you get Mabus.

The horrible undoing of people and animals has not been made clear. It could imply the times in which they died, when the earth is seeing the balance of nature (animals) unraveling in devastating climate change caused by human abuse of the planet and overpopulation (people). There are many prophecies in Nostradamus about natural disasters, superstorms of terrible winds, global warming, vast inner-continental droughts at latitude 48 degrees across the world, all leading to a global famine and a third world war that may see two-thirds of the human race consumed.

It is not made clear in the prophecies if the Antichrist and the war arising from his annihilation triggers this unraveling of civilization and mass animal extinctions from a global catastrophe he caused. Indeed, the fact that Nostradamus does not directly tie the Third Antichrist to nearly 100 prophecies on this theme except for the nebulous connection made in 2 Q62 indicates to me that the unraveling of people and animals describes the times in which the Antichrist’s added catastrophe of a post mortem war takes place.

This however does not ignore the potential of either some terrible terrorist reprisal (in the case of Usama) or an unraveling of the Arab world because of a future breakup of Saddam’s Iraq as causes for the unraveling of the world. Saddam had famously predicted before being hanged that without his strong hand and dictatorship, Kurd, Shia and Sunni Iraqi’s would not be able to govern themselves and that sooner or later, Iraq would unravel. If the Middle East unravels, so does the oil industry that fuels human civilization. So, for now, I referee that the score is still tied. I conclude that 2 Q62, line 2 is dating the times in which the Antichrist dies, when humans and animals are enduring an unraveling of natural balances of the planet.

At once there is vengeance?

Saddam’s death did not see “immediately after” an unraveling of people and animals. We wait to see if this will happen in the next few months or years after the death of Usama. Score remains the same:

The line saying at once there will be vengeance is openly vague to embrace a future act of vengeance in retaliation to the killing of the Antichrist. One cannot say vengeance actually came from supporters of dead Saddam, although the worst years of the Iraqi sectarian civil war were ahead with the highest death tolls on Iraqis and US-coalition forces in the crossfire. Today saw the first reprisal bombings for Usama’s killing by Pakistani Taliban elements allied to al-Qaeda. Two suicide bombers killed scores of Pakistani Special Forces trainees as they gathered outside their boot camp facility in Western Pakistan to climb onto buses and minivans for a holiday. The death of 80 and the wounding of 100 of these does not fit the horrific reprisal implied that could ally 100 nations into an international counterattack. So, we are still waiting for something bigger to take place, perhaps in America — perhaps on or around the 10th anniversary of 9/11, or in al-Qaeda’s other favorite month to strike, the 11th month of each year.

No score change.

Now, if line 3 of 2 Q62 and part of line 4 are implying an alliance of 100 nations taking vengeance on a history changing terrorist act, then I have to give Usama a point. After al-Qaeda’s hijacked jet takedown of the World Trade Center Towers and drilling of the Pentagon on 11 September 2011 — a terrifying crime dated and foreseen by Nostradamus, see Osama — President G. W. Bush collected 100 nations into his alliance to seek out and destroy Usama’s terrorist network. Shortly after, in a few months’ time, US forces and the Afghan Northern Alliance routed al-Qaeda and the Afghan Taliban regime that harbored them in Afghanistan. Usama and his surviving core of al-Qaeda were surrounded in caves on Mt Tora Bora. The survivors, including a wounded Usama, only just managed to sneak over into Pakistan where he spent nearly a decade in hiding, overseeing a greatly reduced and crippled al-Qaeda.

The last line of 2 Q62 returns to the theme of describing the times of the death of the Antichrist: a time of great climate disruption (thirst=drought), the crisis of potable water and famine looming for the an overpopulated world that will endure the birth of the 7th billionth thirsty and hungry child sometime around July of 2011. One might argue that this population milestone tilts the milestone in favor of Usama, however the climate has been unraveling since global temperatures spiked and kept spiking from 1998 onwards, including the year Saddam was hanged in 2006. So, no score change.

I will save the comet milestone at the end of 2 Q62 for last. Let us jump to the next quatrain.

We see in line one of 8 Q77, how it links the annihilation of Mabus to the annihilation of the “Third Antichrist”. They are one.

The chemical weapons plume over Halabja, Iraq.

Let us jump ahead to the verse’s final line. The blood-soaked human bodies and the reddened icy or white spotted rain on the hemorrhaging bodies is a phenomenon seen on those killed by biological or chemical agents. Although a reprisal for Usama’s death may use these agents, clearly, Saddam scores one here because he notoriously used such weapons against the Kurds in 1988 in Halabja, killing thousands of civilians and on Iranian soldiers during the Iran-Iraq war perhaps killing and crippling 100,000 of them with mustard gas.

Now to 8 Q77′s line 3. This one leans in favor of Usama. He and his al-Qaeda jihadists are each considered by a vast majority of Muslims around the world as Al-muhartik (heretic). Since 9/11 to the present, most of the leading al-Qaeda planners, the cream of his suicide operatives who committed the act and thousands of AQ foot soldiers have been eliminated (dead), exiled from their countries of origin and made captives wasting away in a network of prisons far from home such as the US concentration camp at Guantanamo, Cuba.

Of course, one could argue that Saddam’s Baathist party henchmen are secular Islamic heretics also either eliminated, exiled from Iraq or crowded Abu Ghraib and other prisons. Nevertheless, Baathist dead and imprisoned have not made the historic impact of al-Qaeda dead and captives in a way that might have caught Nostradamus’ eye, so I give this one to Usama

Now to the most interesting new revelation in Nostradamus that only could be recognized after the death of Usama. Line 2 of 8 Q77 says about the Third Antichrist, “27 years his bloody war will last.”

Saddam fulfills this. The time he was made dictator, to the time he was hanged was 27 years of constant warfare for Iraq. Saddam waged a civil war with the Kurds living inside its borders as well as crushing a second Shia uprising in 1991, killing hundreds of thousands. Saddam initiated the Iran-Iraq War (1980-1989) killing a million people. He invaded Kuwait in 1990. He was thrown out of Kuwait with the loss of 150,000 soldiers killed and hundreds of thousands captured in the Persian Gulf War that followed in 1991. A low-grade war smoldered from 1991 to 2003 with US-Coalition patrolling a “No Fly Zone” over Iraqi airspace with occasional volleys of cruise missiles crashing into Baghdad in the mid and late 1990s. Then the US invaded Iraq in 2003 deposing Saddam’s regime. The Baathists fought a guerilla war with US occupiers then as Sunnis they grappled with the Shia in a bloody sectarian civil war at the time Saddam was hanged in late December 2006. A period of wars and civil wars that spanned exactly 27 years!

Score one for Saddam?

Not so fast!

New revelations have reached me today, which I have verified. Usama, back in 1984, established MAK (Maktab al-Khidamat) with Abdullah Azzam, an organization to raise funds and recruit a foreign legion of Arab mujahedeen fighters, mostly Saudi Arabs, to aid the Afghani mujahedeen’s guerilla war against Soviet occupiers of Afghanistan. Although Usama had been funding and fighting alongside Afghans since he completed college in 1979, MAK put Usama on history’s time map as a leader in a war — just the kind of prominence that a prophet from the 16th century would have recognized.

In 1984, Usama’s bloody war began, first with the Soviets, and then four years later, MAK became the foundation for creating and fundraising and recruiting al-Qaeda. Usama’s war shifted from Soviets and became a guerilla-terrorist war against Arab dictators, the Saudi King beholden to Western “Crusader” powers with a string terror bombings in the Middle East during the 1990s, as well as the first World Trade Center bombing in 1993.

Then came dramatic, large-scale swipes at US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania in 1998 killing hundreds and wounding thousands. Then the USS Cole bombing at port in Yemen in 2000 killing and wounding dozens of US Navy personnel.

Then came his bloody war’s greatest terror act, the 9/11 toppling of the World Trade Center twin towers and setting alight the US Pentagon with hijacked civilian airliners killing 3,000. This lead to US occupation of Afghanistan in a war spanning nearly a decade, killing over 50,000 civilians and combatants from all sides. The drone wars over Western Pakistan commenced, killing hundreds more. The war in Afghanistan spilled over into a conflict between Taliban Pakistani guerillas with the Pakistani Army adding thousands to the butcher bomber’s bill.

Then Usama’s blood war ended with his death by US Navy Seal bullets just a dozen days ago.

Usama’s bloody war lasted from 1984 to 2011.

That is also 27 years!

Both Saddam and Usama win a point from me

Now to the last milestone. It is placed at the end of 2 Q62. Mabus is soon annihilated and all these events transpire “when the comet will pass.”

If we factor in how Nostradamus uses comets as portents, the most obvious allusion is not some comet we see in a telescope. It must be a great comet, one that is seen clearly with the naked human eye, like the one, for example, he successfully foresaw describing events in the future French Wars of Religion that could only happen under the unearthly glow of the great comet of 1577.

The early morning hours, just before the hanging of Saddam saw for the first time to the naked eye what would become the brightest comet in 60 years, Comet McNaught. There is no similar comet of singular brilliance seen by the naked eye at the death of Usama.

I know, I know. The emails will come flooding in about Comet Elenin, but it is not visible to the naked eye and will only become a visible smudge with a tale in late summer. No big light show like McKnaught is expected.

Yes, as it approaches the Sun it has been part of some pretty significant, and perhaps more than coinciding, surprises. As I detailed in my last blog, see Nostradamus, every time Elenin lined up with the Sun and Earth, there has been a significant earthquake on that day: the Chilean quake and Pacific Tsunami in February 2010, the Christchurch temblor in New Zealand, September 2010 and the Japanese quake and Pacific Tsunami of March 2011.

There will be two more opportunities for Elenin to trigger quakes of global significance come this September and November. If Elenin achieves a 5 and 0 on significant seismic events and tsunamis before it slips out of the solar system after November, then it could be considered the Mabus Comet and Usama bin Laden would score one on Saddam as Antichrist candidate number one. However, for now, I have to give a point to Saddam, because the comet allusions Nostradamus uses in other visions fits with this as a visible heavenly portent of the death of Mabus.

PS–We are in the fifth month of 2011. Read how startlingly accurate Predictions for 2011 have been so far.

In my book Nostradamus and the Antichrist, published in mid-2008, I ended what was a 25-year search for the Third Antichrist narrowing the candidates down to four people. Two are presidents who see their names spell the anagram Mabus. They are G.W. Bush and the current president Barack Obama.

The other two are notorious terrorist leaders, Saddam Hussein and Osama (Usama) bin Laden.

The first two may be the hunters, the second two, the hunted candidates for the Third Antichrist.

In my book on Mabus, written and posted in an e-Book several months before Obama was elected president of the United States, I predicted that Obama would be elected and that in his first term he would hunt down and destroy the mastermind of the 9/11 attacks.

Nostradamus, the prophetic giant of the last millennium, said in the mid-1550s that in the future there would be a “black king” involved in the war against the Third Antichrist. I interpreted that to mean he was Obama, the future African American president of the United States.

Here is the passage from my Third Antichrist book in question:

Nostradamus.

“Barack Hussein Obama’s name comprises elements of two top candidates for Third Antichrist: Saddam Hussein and Usama-Osama-Obama bin Laden. I can’t rule out the possibility that possibility Nostradamus, like Dixon, misread his symbols giving renewed life to Mabus-Obama being mistaken as the Antichrist in some composite blend of several men drawn into the same fateful destiny — all sharing Arabic names.

“Senator Obama has made it crystal clear that if he were president he would act decisively to change the US strategic focus of the War on Terrorism out of Iraq and into Afghanistan, even Pakistan. Obama intends to apprehend and annihilate “Osama” bin Laden. If the US forces have to invade Pakistan’s Wild West autonomous provinces to destroy bin Laden in his lair, so be it.”

I further wrote a passage about Obama as the “Black King” foreseen by Nostradamus would increase troop levels in Afghanistan and go after the al-Qaeda leader in Pakistan. Note the prediction in red, published over two-and-a-half years ago:

A right interpretation depends on divining who is the subject of these vague third person personal and possessive pronouns. Play with it in French and the anagram Alus sanguinaire (Bloody Alus) becomes L’USA sanguinere (the bloody USA). Le noir (the black) may be an anagram for le roi n(oir): “the black king.” Earlier interpretations had a black robed Shia cleric of Iran or Iraq who makes the angry one, such as Saddam Hussein, repent; however, if this applies literally to an African American future president, then it might describe Barack Obama’s Iraq policy in future action.

The Greek Meso (between) potamia (two rivers) is Iraq geographically defined as the land between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers. This round of interpretation presumes President Bush the angry one made to repent his invasion of Iraq by Obama who pulls out combat troops in the first 16 months of his presidency. Another candidate for angry one is Usama bin Laden who will repent ordering al-Qaeda to infiltrate Iraq during the Bush administration. The Black president (king) will increase US forces in Afghanistan, killing or capturing Usama in a military incursion into Pakistan.

If “Obama” has killed “Osama” as Nostradamus’ candidate for Antichrist, you can decode his name thusly, using Nostradamus’ laws of anagramming,

Rearrange the letters to: maaus

You can replace one redundant letter with only one letter missing, which is the b.

Thus you get maaus = ma(a)us = mabus.

The story of Mabus, the Third Antichrist does not end but begins with his death. The Mabus prophecy reads:

The death of the Mabus is as sudden and violent as the US Special Forces firefight that killed Usama bin Laden in Pakistan today. If he is the true candidate for Mabus, then there will be retribution that in other parts of Nostradamus’ history of the future implies a 25 to 27 year war of the Third Antichrist will follow.

There will be a horrible undoing of people and animals, an unraveling of civilization (humans) together with an undoing of the natural balances (implied by “animals”). This could be dating a time of climate change and ecological crisis as the time of the death of the Antichrist.

One hundred nations (powers) initially allied with the US in a war against the international terror fomented by Usama bin Laden’s al-Qaeda terrorists when they took down the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York City with hijacked jets and crashed a third into the Pentagon in Washington DC on September 11, 2001.

The final line implies these events happen in a time not only of ecological stresses like ours but also when food and water sustainability are approaching a crisis in our overpopulated world. The historic rise of food prices this year may be a precursor to these oncoming events of drought, or thirst and famine to come in the day following the violent death of the Third and Final Antichrist.

The most important thing to key on in this prophecy for the immediate future is “vengeance”.

Vengeance to come in retaliation!

Usama bin Laden has planned for his martyrdom for nearly a decade. There will be vengeance coming.

Be extra vigilant.

The terrible undoing and destruction of people and animals may also imply the long planned use of a weapon of mass destruction, either radiological, chemical or biological that kills both animals and humans that only will be unleashed when this high profile candidate for Nostradamus’ Antichrist “is annihilated. “

I am reminded of Arwen Undómiel, atop her horse, draped in radiant blue and silver riding robes, lost in bittersweet recollection. She moves in a train of other Elves of Rivendell on horseback or on foot, quietly passing down a wooded path on their way to the Gray Havens. She and her regal entourage will catch a ride on the last magical boats setting sail into the West, for the Elvish earthly paradise of Valinor.

A child runs by. Crossing their path. No other Elf notices him but Arwen. Her eyes follow the child’s passage through the forest and into the pale light illuminating white stone walls of an arched balcony of Minas Tirith. The child runs with arms outstretched into a future waiting 30 years hence. There is the mortal man, Aragorn, her beloved. He has become Elessar, King of Gondor. His hair turned silver in the first colors of his approaching mortality, yet his face as recognizable in recent memory as if it were youth’s yesterday.

Aragorn happily sweeps the child up into his arms. The father whispers unheard tenderness to the child, who looks across time back upon Arwen. He is wearing her necklace given to Aragon as gift and testimony of her glad decision to renounce Elvish immortality for a mortal life full of love albeit lived short. The child lowers his chin and his grey eyes penetrate into Arwen’s soul. Her inner voice whispers his name, “Eldarion…” In the child’s gaze of intense and urgent sheen is an unspoken message, “Make this future happen.”

Those of you who saw this scene of a future’s potential in the movie adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, might recall Arwen turning her horse around, galloping back into bare branches winter-wreathing Elvish grounds and archways of the chateau of Rivendell. She would have a deep throated and breathy showdown with her auguring father, Elrond, about potential futures kept secret.

“I have looked into your future and I only see death!” dismisses Elrond.

“But there is also life,” replies Arwen. “You saw there was a child. You saw my son.”

Elrond sits down heavily. With downcast eye, he admits, “That future is almost gone.”

Long fingers tenderly clasp his chin and turn a face saddened by the ages close to hers. She gazes a bright and urging look, whispering, “But not lost…”

I will not spoil the story’s outcome for a handful of people left on the planet who may not have seen the three-part adaptations of Peter Jackson’s production of Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings.

The myth of Arwen’s Vision has a Norn’s rope-thread of truth to it. There is not one future, preordained. Prophets gifted with foresight who are not in some way bound by social conditioning to promote a future preordained that is religio-politically correct down to the last event written in on unchangeable stone, will bear witness to an undiscovered proto-reality. They see a state of future remain stone-like constant only as long as people giving birth to it in the eternity of the present remain as stupid and unmoved to change as stones.

The future has in stock many tomorrows. One sees this in evidence in Nostradamus’ writings. He delivered two tomorrows for the King of France, Henry II, in the first volume of his magnum opus Les Propheties. One of them was so controversial that Henry II summoned Nostradamus to court near Paris to explain himself. Actually, it was Queen Catherine de’ Medici who nagged him to send for that Nostradamus fellow. She made acquaintances with magicians and prophets to see towards what destiny her athletic, handsome (but a bit intellectually slow) husband inclined.

We know nothing of what Nostradamus said in the private meeting in the summer of 1555; however, he left an honored man. It is therefore safe to say that he drew the King and Queen Catherine de’ Medici’s attention not only to the notorious death-by-jousting prophecy of Century 1 Quatrain 35, but also might have drawn the king’s attention to two quatrains (2 Q79 and 4 Q34) visualizing an alternative future hidden under a rather obvious anagram Chyren Selin.

Chyren is “Henryc” (Henry). Selin is (Selene–Moon). Henry II used the letter “H” with the horizontal bar displaying the crescent moon on his royal livery. You can read the Chyren Selin prophecies in chapter seven (under the sub-section entitled, Before the Court and Public Opinion) in the following book: click on Nostradamus biography.

In brief, Nostradamus in his Chyren Selin quatrains had the king try on a future where he did not die in a jousting tournament but became the second Charlemagne of France, because he lived on and forestalled religious civil wars between Catholic and Protestant French subjects. Henry at the head of a unified and powerfully renewed French realm would then go to war with the Habsburgs, conquer the northern half of Italy, incorporating the heart of the Renaissance world into France.

The alternative to death by jousting obviously appealed to the king’s vanity, yet he was a true jock at heart and later famously admitted that to die from the hand of a fellow noble in a ritual combat accident was not a bad way to depart this mortal coil. He chose that future, albeit unconsciously perhaps.

The vision of a second Charlemagne was not completely lost until Henry II died from mortal wounds received in a tournament at the end of June 1559. His untimely death to the Charlemagne time line set forward a whole number of futures Nostradamus wished to prevent. These included the religious civil wars of France that one by one brought tragedy and often violent ends to the life of Henry’s heirs and many of the French realm’s leading princes as pre-chronicled by Nostradamus to his everlasting legacy as one of history’s greatest prophets.

Today (5 July 2010), Uranus, the ruler of the potential futures of change or chaos in astrological auguring starts creeping backwards in the sky. Uranus backtracks on a 0 degree path in the sign of Aries (a future of either new creative enterprises, beginnings, or new headstrong upheavals).

Starting 7 July (the day of this blog’s posting) and intensifying by 21 July, Uranus retreats to its place in a very powerful grand T square with Pluto in Capricorn opposing Saturn in Libra (status quo and reality checks). Pluto in Capricorn defines a generational age, an era of systemic crisis leading either to global civil disorder and fascism or democracy’s renewal between now and the first month of 2024.

We will be feeling the influence of this powerful T square throughout the summer in extreme heat waves, floods, violent weather, hurricanes, cyclones and typhoons. I would be pleasantly surprised if the world does not endure a major seismic disaster or two between now and Halloween — metaphorical “earthquakes” that are political, economic and literally seismic.

A thread of destiny pulls backwards out of the T Square in the guise of Uranus in retrograde, starting mid August, retreating into the spacey sign of Pisces. Expect to see civilization’s rug pulled underfoot starting in mid-August, shaking things up when hidden enemies to change — our collective conditioned reflexes against it — pop out from the undercurrent of mass unconscious from August through to the Christmas Holiday Season. Then Uranus goes direct course on 6 December 2010.

Uranus riding backwards in the sky has given me a Liv Tyler moment that could make Viggo Mortensen’s hair go Aragorn-gray, not in 30 years but in a day. It is an alternative future to the one proposed in Predictions for 2010. I withheld speaking of it until it bore signs of possibly Ar-wending its way into the present by 2 November, the day of the US mid-term elections.

Here in part is the future with the most momentum for fulfillment logged in Predictions for 2010:

“When making my occult enquiries to the oracle I received this message. The road to a second term [for President Obama] is successfully ventured despite what the contentious Democrat legislators and president promise but do not deliver. It has far more to do with the Republican Party losing further seats to Democrats in 2010 because the GOP (the Grand Old Party) devolves farther to the right. The GOP wants to go rogue elephant led by its most ideologically dogmatic core followers…”

Personally, I think the oracle is going way out on a limb; however, it has often crawled out there on a thin branch of reason and plucked the apple of tomorrow’s events without breaking the branch and falling. There may be a game of musical chairs afoot with pitchfork primaries flinging out the old lobbyist-haymakers for new blood.

And therein lies my crystal ball rubbing into clarity an alternative future.

I have seen this future but felt not to discuss it because it was, as Elrond might say, “almost gone.” But this time around Arwen is running up the stairs, throwing off her riding cloak to reveal an all too mortal form of a middle age woman with honey roll buns covered by a red, white and blue spandex jump suit with an overly large “Rand Paul for Senate” button. I down cast my eyes to avoid seeing her once beautiful tresses cut short and curled by the local Hair Masters — the bleached blond Afro stuffed in a straw hat dangling tea bags.

I feel like Republican Party turncoat Senator Arlen Specter at a town meeting of catharting constituents.

“You have the gift of foresight,” shrieks Arwen. “Tell me what you have seen!”

“Ok, ok! Can I have the microphone back, lady? I’ll tell you all…”

The currents of destiny begin to change. I feel now compelled to set before the public this rather nasty alternative future.

This potential future is no Eldarion darling for Demopublicans right or left leaning on every prophetic word for the advancement of their ideologies. This future will bring chaos to left-right-and-center, unless a better Pluto-in-Capricorn collective understanding can be had about what unexpected and unwanted consequences can happen if mass popular forces, unconsciously guided, make mob psychology rule the votes cast in the mid-term elections.

Uranus in Pisces is change going backwards into illusion at a time when Saturn continues to progress forward through the sign of Libra the Balancer where it is harmoniously exalted. In other words, Saturn is there to illuminate what is unreal and dysfunctional in our political and economic systems so that we can repair them. For instance, the Obama “change we can believe in” movement under Saturn’s reality check must go back to the blackboard this summer and chalk up another formula for change presented to the American people in early autumn campaigns. One that Americans cannot only believe in but support with political will and momentum.

Barack Obama, if you go forward without seeing how backward your ideas of change are rapidly becoming to what really needs changing in America then your slogan, “Change we can believe in,” will soon become, “Chaos we can disbelieve in.”

Uranus rules chaos and disorder as well as change and revolution. Uranus in retrograde while Saturn is exalted in Libra (read: balanced and more conservative reality checks) means ill-conceived, advancing Fool over-the-brink liberal progress, leads to political chaos for those in power in Washington.

Or worse…

The American people will feel leaderless and unheard by those left or right leaning ideologues living inside the Washington, lobbyist-rich-elitist-loving, political bubble. A future that was almost lost is coming closer. It gathers in the momentum of national frustration and rising anger of the American people against their president, state governors and federal legislators. If the disconnection deepens it may lead to anger as a national referendum of disdain against the governing system.

In this alternative future, the Americans will shout something loud and destructive on 2 November with ballots flying. They may not intend it, but a vote to throw most incumbents out — the good, the bad and the ugly with the baby and the bathwater — could happen.

The angry American voter under incautious Uranus-in-retrograde chaos may fill the gubernatorial seats of state capitals and halls of Congress with a mob of demagogues pronouncing change as a force of political hysteria without leadership, focus or coherency. The new legislators will, to paraphrase Elrond, govern the country for the next two years in a Congress that is “scatterbrained, divided, leaderless.”

Americans might send the politically infantile and extremely eccentric to flush out the old wood. Yes, it would be a change. Chaos is change.

Americans could see an even more dysfunctional government as a result for the next 2 years — one that represents the state of the voting public: pissed off, grasping for straw votes, reaching out to swipe somebody without coherency or plan. Not conservatism or liberalism but a nasty Uranus-in-Piscean-retrograde surprise: tear-it-all-down-ism.

Fulfilled Predictions for 2010

We passed the half-year point on 1 July. The following passages were signed off seven months earlier on 1 November 2009. The sacking of General McChrystal for his public disparaging of the Obama administration’s handling of the war in Afghanistan led to every president’s military miracle worker, General Petraeus, advancing from state-side digs in Florida as chief of CENTCOM to formally take command in Kabul on the 4th of July. Petraeus made it clear that a time of serious kick-butting al-Qaeda and the Taliban was coming. It might be a good time to review what the oracle foresaw about Afghanistan in 2010.

The Afghanistan troop call up foreseen before it was even conceived:

“I also discern with oracular help that you [Obama] have bargained with the Pentagon to affect a compromise strategy. The generals prevailed upon you to receive their 40,000-troop increase, but you will counter putting the surge on a short time leash of 18 months.”

Assessment

I originally mentioned this prophecy on Coast-to-Coast AM on 2 September 2009, publishing it 1 November 2009. The compromise to the surge did take place. Obama did announce at the end of 2009 a surge of 31,000 US troops to Afghanistan. NATO then pledged an additional 7-to-8,000 new troops to bring the surge up to 40,000. Obama added the 18-month deadline to assess and start pulling troops out, to exert deadline pressure on the Pentagon to make things happen.

Escalation in Afghanistan foreseen:

“Afghanistan under Obama is little different in popular opinion than Afghanistan under eight years of Bush indecision. The country wants the troops home, however Obama seems poised to listen to the brass and bemedaled Pentagon CEOs of the military industrial complex who want to keep the war business there going on. He’s sending a lot more troops soon, unless I’ve happily misread my oracle.” (Documented on October 26, 2009)

Assessment

My oracle was not wrong. A Bush-style troop surge was proposed signed and sealed by Obama against the popular desires of the American people. Moreover, it ran contrary to his campaign pledge to get out of wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. It seems Obama “has” caved to the military industrial complex’s desire to keep the war business going.

US casualties in Afghanistan for 2010 will run up the same numbers as Iraq in its darkest years of 2007

“If Obama isn’t careful, all of his good will, political capital and dreams of changing America will be squandered in an obsession of deeper involvement in Afghanistan. Obama’s change revolution undermined just like Johnson’s Great Society [was by Vietnam].

“Beware of it in 2010 Mr. Obama because I know you will raise US troop involvement in Afghanistan to its highest level. You will endure tolls of American dead and wounded per month as high as the Iraq Occupation at its peak.”

Assessment

There are around 100,000 US troops in Afghanistan. The highest deployment yet. British forces reached the milestone of 300 dead in June. The web site icasualties reports June as the deadliest month in the Afghan war for US combat deaths, at 60. Total killed-in-action for US-NATO forces in June was 102.

General Petraeus is in the driver’s seat now, and he made it clear that inhibiting rules of engagement will be lifted. July was only five days old when already 13 US-NATO troops have fallen. Just as the world leaders of G20 were finishing up their ineffectual, photo-optical, solutions-optional junket weekend in Toronto, Nobel laureate economist Paul Krugman posted an op-ed for the New York Times, Sunday (27 June 2010) entitled The Third Depression. In brief, he argues that we are in the first stages of a long and jobless depression similar to that following the Great Panic of 1873, with years of lingering economic instability and monetary deflation, rather than the more catastrophic mass-unemployment model of the Great Depression of 1929-1933.

Depression of the first kind has its sudden collapse and recovery like what happened in 2008, but the stuffings of potential growth have been knocked out. Whole sectors of the market do not recover. The sectors pretty much vanished, like losing part of the brain in a stroke. Recovery from an econ-stroke may take decades to find new sectors, new synapses pathways to jobs, such as the painstaking development of new pathways through a brain recovering healthy function. The Long D. is post-stroke sluggish. The Short D. is like a heart attack that skips a beat and takes a dramatic depression-juiced “jump out of your Wall Street window to end it all” impulse.

The first D. is like a ship cast in the doldrums, the second D. an auto wreck. Krugman’s observations are less Tex Avery comically taxing than mine:

“We are now, I fear, in the early stages of a third depression,” writes Krugman. “It will probably look more like the Long Depression than the much more severe Great Depression. But the cost to the world economy and, above all, to the millions of lives blighted by the absence of jobs will nonetheless be immense.”

America’s administration comes out of the G20 gathering seeking to spend its way out of economic problems whilst Euro-spooked Europeans and other economic powers endorse the other extreme: austerity cuts to whittle down a mountain of international debt should begin now, not later.

There is a failure of leadership in the early summer of 2010 that in my opinion sets the course for the economic crisis in October 2010, about which I have spent two years forewarning you all. I wrote the following prophecy in December 2007, published in mid-January 2008:

“There will be one nasty recession in 2008 the likes of which hasn’t been seen since the early 1970s… Deep recession is definitely going to happen whether there’s war or peace with Iran. There will be inflation, stag-flation, and gag-flation for those industries that don’t come along for the rise of the green economy when the value of the US greenback falls… The dollar will begin its slow and stately 36-year decline as the world currency…” (Predictions for 2008)

Around the time I released the above passage I appeared on a number of radio shows expanding the theme:

“I’m on record telling George Noory on Coast-to-Coast AM and later Whitley Strieber on his podcasted radio show Dreamland in late January 2008 that this recession was a probation period lasting two years. If in that time the economy’s core ills were properly understood and remedied, we would cautiously rise out of financial crisis. If not, then the hammer of catastrophic depression would fall. (Predictions for 2009)”

In a passage signed off in mid-January 2009 concerning the year 2010 I said:

“Prophecy’s koan about the economy in 2009 is this: our global economy is on probation for two years and the judgment is still out if it will survive. Whether we will reboot our economy in two years or less or be subjected to its meltdown in a catastrophic global depression in October 2010 or the spring of 2011 is up to acts initiated by us right now in the now. From past to future foolishness we are habitually tempted to skip over the core problem sitting in the present waiting for our past-future distracted attention. (Predicitons for 2009)”

Which brings us to what I wrote in October 2008 about the economy’s future crisis for Predictions for 2010:

“Wall Street was saved by the first stimulus in 2009, but no serious credit was lent to the real economy. Though 2009 will end with an Obama spin of the slow wheels of bureaucracy and legislation it is too slow and too gestured rather than a thrust substantive to modify or avoid the next great financial crisis unexpectedly exploding on the world around a year from the time of this writing (27 October 2009)…

“An important opportunity has been missed in 2009 by this US president and Congress to instigate real regulative reforms to the banking, real estate and stock market sectors. Any effort in Washington DC to pass real economic reform in 2010 will at best be stifled in new laws, defanged, written by special interests to ultimately water down and muddle two absolutes required for success in 2010: raise taxes, while cutting expenditures. This isn’t a Right or Left wing issue. This is a reality 2010 will see argued, tossed around and compromised, wasting another precious year to partisan posturing for the mid-term elections coming in November.”

The push-and-pull of Uranus (change) verses Saturn (anti-change) in the great global financial debate in this and the coming month of July will leave legislators the world over polarized in two camps: 1.) Spend our way out of recession to stimulate the global economy and damn the deficit; or, 2.) Face the global deficit now, slice the government sector and raise taxes to pay the deficit down before the economic time bomb of the deficit explodes.

Which is the right approach?

My “oracle” says, neither.

The solution is somewhere in the middle. It requires a virtuoso balancing performance of leadership saddled to an engaged citizenry. First upon everyone’s agenda: cut waste while artificially stimulating for a short time that which puts getting people back to work first.

My annual almanac prediction books not only predict the future but also describe potential futures we could activate by our present day actions. In Predictions for 2010, my oracle helped compose whole chapters providing my readers — who also include important and influential leaders of business and members of governments around the world — chapter long messages about alternative and positive future solutions to our problems.

The book foresaw the jobless recovery, but it did not stop there. Several chapters of detailed, systematic solutions flooded out of my keyboard in what became the fastest production of any book I have written: seven weeks.

It saw Health Care passing and more followed: a full chapter on food reform launched by a famous prediction offered by George Gurdjieff in 1924. He was a strong prophetic advocate for the future of America with one caveat. The process of America’s destruction would come from the collective misuse of its stomach (i.e. junk food) and sex.

The prophetic eye of oracle for 2010 delivered a long, stinging augury about a US quagmire in Afghanistan, chasing it with an even longer prophetic editorial on the Pentagon and the US Military Industrial Complex at a existential crossroad. A relevant future for the USMICX requires a shift in thinking not seen since the beginning of the Cold War in the late 1940s. It must metamorphose like the Roman Legions did to stay relevant once large scale wars vanished for two centuries during the Pax Romana.

I think of what the oracle said, while today I watch General Petraeus work hard at playing the change maker who says nothing change-worthy for US fortunes in Afghanistan as he sat before a congressional hearing that will grant him permission to run the War in Afghanistan on the ground. (Into the ground?)

We are halfway through 2010. Nature’s war against human abuse of the ecosystem magnifies. Leadership in an economic crisis polarizes and falters. Will the third depression in 137 years come to a head this autumn? The book I wrote to forecast this year’s events had more to say about better futures yet un-accessed but immediately available to us than it did running the more familiar account of the sum total of our stupid decisions making a mess of destiny. Whatever I am tapping into is sending more than a message of doom and gloom, but oracular opportunity. Such positive destinies are born in the passing before your eyes of a word, by the seeding before your witnessing consciousness of a field of mind sparking off an inspiration. A grove of solutions can be planted, and a harvest of better futures furrowed can come from the seedpod, opened, called Predictions for 2010.

Krugman thinks we are heading for the Long Depression. I am thinking that we can alter that course, even now; or, October might present us with Krugman’s Long Depression variety that by 2011 could jump out the Wall Street window, but not because of economics. For 20 years in the predicting field, I have logged this cautionary vision in the hope it will be heeded, as it still can, in time. Back in January 2008, I said:

“Mark me clearly… No man made effort will undermine the econ-artist game. If it collapses suddenly in 2008 or 2012, it will be from forces outside of human control. I have always warned that it is not the economy stupid but the ecology stupid that will break the world’s economies. Ecological disasters and climate change are the real creditors that will call humanity’s economic game off on account of rain, rising oceans, central continental droughts, famines, and so on. (Predictions for 2008)”

That is what stands in the way of our future: the ecology, says this stupid man to his fellow stupid friends. We have all got to stop being stupid about our abuse of the Earth and its climate for more reasons than clean air and water. Eco glow green is financially green, my fellow Muppets with strings to conditioned habits attached. Awareness is like the hand inside the Punch-and-Judy jive of ego. Put those puppet-parroting characters down and have your hands free for something better. Meditation is like sharp perception that cuts the puppet strings to our puppet masters. Go throw those programmed poses, Pinocchio, and really become a real boy, not a wooden ego.

Before my narrative gets any more Fozzie un-Bear-able, I would like to close this final blog for jumpin’ jehosaphats June on a positive presage before we leap into yumpin’ yiminy Yuly!
