Anniversaries are significant foils in that region for making political statements. Though the Western corporate media do not take much stock in it, I can assure you Arab and Persian Muslims and especially Jewish Israelis are taking note. Obama is clearly NOT visiting Israel, but speaking today in Egypt, the land that fielded the largest army 42 years ago during the Six Day War in 1967 and lost the largest Arab air force, nearly all destroyed on the ground in a few fireball pocked and terrifying hours by a preemptive strike of Israeli jets.

No country in the modern Middle East had so quickly and completely surprised and destroyed an enemy force threatening invasion than the Israelis 42 years ago this week. Yet here is Obama, making his most important offering of dialogue in a Muslim country that once sought Israel’s destruction but met Israel’s preemptive mailed fist before they could launch.

Here is yet another opening stride in lofty rhetoric from Obama declaring, “A new beginning” in US-Muslim relations this time. It was another gesture towards a good start, another eloquent first step, like all the other first steps towards solving the investment-banking crisis, the back door nationalization of General Motors becoming Government Motors, the health care hurdle. The call in Cairo to start a new beginning wrapped in shining oratory is yet another broadly defined first step taken in a journey of a thousand miles of pain and revolutionary change, rife with disaster and resistance, but ultimately one that all must embark upon. Soon the in every inaugurating speech about change coming in this or that problem, every new rendition of broad definitions of the problem and broad goals delineated, must at last lead to the actual “doing” — from talking to the walking through all the other harder steps in a journey of 1,000 miles to come. Words must become work and it better work, soon.

The right wing, and some would say staunchly Zionist-supremist leaders of the new Israeli government, are watching Obama’s progress. Last week Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu had already met Obama in Washington and behind closed doors was briefed on the new course towards diplomacy and containment of Iran, intended by the US President “after” Iran achieves full nuclear capacity.

Journalist Jeffrey Goldberg, writing in the New York Times Op-Ed section several days before Obama flew off on his diplomatic mission to Saudi Arabia and Cairo, reminds us that Netanyahu has not strayed from what he has openly mused for years if he should again be Israel’s prime minister. Goldberg says Netanyahu is not bluffing. He will attack Iran if they reach full nuclear capacity and he could do this before the end of 2009.

“His preoccupation with the Iranian nuclear program seems sincere and deeply felt,” Goldberg writes. “I recently asked one of his advisers to gauge for me the depth of Mr. Netanyahu’s anxiety about Iran. His answer: ‘Think Amalek.’”

Amalek was a nation that sought to wipe out the Jews and in turn were completely wiped out — down to the last man, woman and child — with Yehovah’s power and blessings in the sword slashing hand of Hebrew warriors.

That powerful message echoed around the world’s news wires from the advisor of Netanyahu as Obama reached out to the Middle Eastern, Muslim world. It matches and I would say transcends the doomsday-latent declarations back in 2006 coming from Iranian President Ahmadinejad about “wiping Israel off the map of history.”

Here is the passage about Amalek from the First Book of Samuel:

Samuel said to Saul, ‘The LORD sent me to anoint you king over his people Israel, Now listen to the voice of the LORD. This is the very word of the LORD of Hosts: “I am resolved to punish the Amalekites for what they did to Israel, how they attacked them on their way up from Egypt.

(The channeled Yehovah speaks of the people of Israel, led by Moses out of Egypt during the Exodus; how the Amalekites treacherously ambushed the Israeli rearguard.)

Go now and fall upon the Amalekites and destroy them, and put their property under ban. Spare no one; put them all to death, men and women, children and babes in arms, herds and flocks, camels and asses. 1 Samuel 15:1-4 (circa 1050-1010 B.C.E.)

Ahmadinejad in Farsi left the threat of “wiping” Israel off the map open to interpretation. If one reads the full context of his rhetoric he covers himself from saying he openly desires the complete destruction of the Israeli people, just the disappearance of the political body called “Israel” when Palestine is restored and the Jews must either live in a reconstituted Arab Palestine or return to Europe.

At least Netanyahu, even as a secular Jew not usually waxing eschatologically religious, makes his position blunt and biblical.

If he means Iran stands for Amalek, then he sees all Iranians as fierce enemies of Israel and he is talking of a complete holocaust for the Iranian people, every man, woman, child and animal, along with all their houses, cities, atomic reactors, and property.

In my next installment about Amalek, I will continue reporting the rest of the biblical story and its implications that the press overlooks. Perhaps Netanyahu’s government overlooks it too. They do so at their own peril.

Dear readers, especially those of you who hail from Mexico, Central and South America, beginning on the week of 2 March, History Channel will broadcast across these regions a documentary in which I recently appeared, Nostradamus 2012.

Last Thursday I had the pleasure to do a press conference by phone with Argentinean, Brazilian, Chilean, and Mexican journalists. I want to share some of their questions (translated into English) with you and my answers:

Why is 2012 a special year? What predictions did Nostradamus make for this year?

HOGUE:
There is nothing specific in the prophecies of Nostradamus dating 2012 as an important year. However there are a lot of astrological predictions that date this very month (February 2009) and many others point to the coming decades after 2012 as the most significant in passing tripping points in climate change, overpopulation, economic and social instability requiring humanity to undergo either a nervous breakdown or breakthrough.

As I’ve often stated in the past (especially in Predictions for 2008), the Mayan Calendar Long Count ending on 21 December 2012 is just one reboot of a prophetic time cycle in a crowd of many renewing their cycles in the coming 30 years.

There is no exact moment when a great age is renewed. It is gradual, like the gradual process of a seedling becoming a great tree.

There is one exact point in time when the transformation of human individuals expected in 2012 CAN happen. Consciousness lives in the eternity of the present. Why wait for some idiotic date foisted by Chicken Little or Pollyanna? You can transform yourself right now, every now.

In my experience, the predictions of Nostradamus are somewhat vague, how do you manage to catalog and organize them in a modern context?

HOGUE:
How deep is your experience? Have you read all of them?

Is predicting the fall of French kings and the Church in France “in the year 1792″ vague?

Is predicting back in the 16th century that man will walk on the moon, or sail underwater in “iron fish” or fly in air fleets of “half-pig” men (describing oxygen masks) vague?

Is describing a great underground fortress on the eastern frontiers of France dissected in 15 places by water vague when the Maginot Line of underground fortresses built in the 1920s and 1930s to stop a German invasion is the only fortress line in the world divided by 16 rivers?

Certainly there are many prophecies that “appear” vague to our minds for the following possible reasons: 1.) they are wrong; 2.) they describe alternative futures that will never happen because free choice has sent history in another direction; or, 3.) they provide clues for people or events we cannot unlock until their times come near to the present.

For instance: Up until the US Presidential Elections in 2000, no one could understand who was the man “those of the Capitol will not want to rule at all” in one of his prophecies. The man was called “Un Dubieux” (a Doubtful One). Then in 2000, we had a candidate emerge with a unique nickname — “W” (Dubya or double-u). Dubieux = W Bush.

Although many quatrains of Nostradamus are vague, what we project upon on nebulous and cryptic verses ultimately says more about “yours” or my depth of study and state of mind rather than what Nostradamus hid. Still, one who has done more than idle skimming of the prophecies knows that there are hundreds of prophecies that are quite clear in naming names, details, dates, time periods, even famous last words.

Why should people not miss the broadcast of the documentary Nostradamus: 2012?

Because it takes its time to present all the theories concerning 2012 with some of the finest cinematic effects yet seen on television, and, unlike many television documentaries it does not rush the audience through an overload of images and data but carefully, deeply takes you through the mystery that is the Mayan Calendar prophecy.

Your last book is about Predictions for 2009. Are these predictions put forward by Nostradamus or the fruit of John Hogue’s own wisdom? (Because, you are a prophet too, right?)

They are mostly my predictions.

Would you tell us about one of your own prophecies that materialized for January-February of this year?

It is important to note that these predictions where written and documented in early December 2008:

1.) That the Republican Party would pick an African American as their new chairman.

2.) Netanyahu would form a government as the Prime Minister of Israel

3.) Obama Administration would throw an estimated 3 trillion dollars at the economic crisis in America.

And many more…

Would you share one or two predictions for the balance of 2009?

1.) The Obama recovery plan will only keep the US economy treading in dangerous waters. It may stop the collapse but it will not bring recovery, tempting Obama by the year’s end to use unprecedented dictatorial powers to nationalize industries such as the auto industry.

2.) The karma of ill conceived and rushed partitions cut in 1947 in Palestine and India will come home to roost in the two most dangerous international crises of 2009: Israel-Iran and India-Pakistan (caused by the radicalization and collapse of the latter).

3.) Mexico runs the danger of descending into civil war reminiscent of those fought by the Colombian State against drug cartels.

4.) The great hope for a new economy will see its first hopeful glimmer shine in the rise of a new ecologically nourishing and profitable green economy.

5.) World leaders and economists will begin to tackle the systemic reasons why the economy is dysfunctional. If the right course is taken by the end of 2009 then an international inflationary depression not seen since Post-First World War Germany will be averted in the autumn of 2010 and the world will slowly move forward out of deep recession by the end of 2012.

Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin set up a political action committee the other day, gosh-darn-it. Looks like she’s got the apocalyptic locus by the antennae to make a Book-of-Revelation run for the presidency on the Mayan Calendar doomsday year 2012, you betcha!

Well, golly gee! That means your intrepid augur must “entrail” a prophetic jest or two out of destiny’s cull. I must foretell a gut prophecy from the great biblical seer Jerrymander that might temper the ambitions of Sarah because I like her too much to see her dragged down to the Sodom and GOP-morah morass of special interests in Belt Town:

The old-think Republican Party leaders’ great “ripe” hope is an Alaskan wilderness girl. The moguls of freely-licentious markets past want to make her “Jane” the Civilized, but really, she is Tarzanette, Queen of the Alaskan Tundra. She has a certain primal innocence that is attractive to the jaded ideologically civilized politicos of the right. Do not despoil her with your $10,000 wardrobes or try to un-Annie her straight moose shooting Oakley ways. Stop dressing her up fancy; let her dress her own shot meat, please.

If your party wishes to make her run for president in 2012, then you must become Neanderthals in her clan of the Kodiak cave bear. But that is not your intent. You want to put lipstick on this Pygmalion Hockey Mom.

You civilized cynics; you Dumbopublicans cast out by the age of Dubya, want to temper and “aquila rampax” her natural wonders. (For all you unprogressive GOP Alaskan pigeons, whom the lower 48 call Bald Eagles, that’s Latin for making her a politically rapacious American Eagle totem of your past tense times.

Better that she doesn’t leave the wilds of Alaska, like Tarzan was forced to do, plucked out of his jungle habitat, stripped of his leopard loincloth to doff a Victorian fop hat and “tales” as Lord of Greystroke in the classic novel of his fictional birth.

Sarah might be a child of the lower 48, being that she was born in Idaho. Then her dad loaded up the truck and they moved to Aurora Borealis Land where she became queen of big bear rainforest country. I don’t know if dragging her back to civilization might not end in a funnier political variation of the Tarzan of Greystroke tragedy. Sheba Queen of the Jungle shorn and chique? Borealis Brunnhilde without her horns? Wasilla’s Weena of rainforest Green Mansions whiling her time away with Washington Wonks?

Do not corrupt a force of nature.

Please desist the reeducation by right wing “GOPs” of out-of-date ideological leanings in the civilized world of the lower forty-eight. Don’t eighty-six the Wasilla wilderness wench with your ragin’-Reagan hopes. It is time to create a new Republican Party. If you must go back to the future, Goldwater yourselves! It is better to err-Izona, than AK-alaska-tack the Barack Obamagogue in the next presidential elections.

Well, Pat my Buchanan!

Don’t put a pinch in Palin’s mukluks. Don’t tempt her to pull up her Anchorage. Don’t sic-Sitka the lobbyists Nabobs of Washington DC on her aching AK.

If you put that hulking Denali mosquito buzz of ambition in her furry bonnet, she’ll lose herself down here in lower America.

She’s not the great Dumbopublican hope. She’s just a simple, hunter-gatherer in all her bright eyed and bushy Scrat squirrelly tailed glory. Don’t tame Tundra Tarzan into another plain red-Republican Jane. Leave her AK-corn alone!

Her quirky can-do caribou ways work in an Alaskan world. And if I were living up there, I’d vote for her to stay as my governor of big number 49 rather than have you Washington GOP types 69 her in dreams of overlording the lower 48 plus Obama’s Hawaii 5-0.

Alaska’s her place and I would like to keep her there, yes, you betcha! (Wink!) Not Washington DC. Eeooo! Why try turning the purse strings of a great Alaskan governor into a sows pork barrel ear in Washington DC? That ain’t AC dee-scent! Keep her Federal Flintstones AK B.C.! OK?

On the eve of the inauguration of the new president, Barack Obama, my thoughts turn back to what I wrote almost exactly one year before. In “Predictions for 2008, ” I made my last forecast and testament about a fascinating prophecy in two verses that marked the life and destiny of the man who will soon fly out of Washington DC back to Texas and begin his post-presidency life as a mediocre apologist fighting history’s label of disgrace.

Nostradamus (1556) Les Propheties

The president of the United States, on the morning after winning his second term in November 2004, went to thank a throng of the faithful at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington. The throng waved purple banners with the letter “W” in gold emblazoned in Times New Roman font. To those who voted against him and lost, it was a party rallying four more years of George W. Bush’s Imperium — a presidency marked by unprecedented, some would say unpresidential, powers surrendered to the executive branch of US government in the traumatic final two years of his first term as commander in chief of a nation at war with al-Qaeda terrorism. To the victorious come to praise their American Caesar, he was their beloved Dubya (W) Bush, voted into four more years by a slim though, as Nostradamus might have meant, “greater part” of the American voters, unlike the first and disputed election in 2000. He announced he was now ready to spend his newfound “political capital.”

During his Inauguration Speech (21 January 2005) and full of himself in victory, Bush invoked God more times than in any inauguration speech recorded. He also cited a laundry list of goals so ambitious that Washington Post reporter, Peggy Noonan, heard an observer quip that by the end he would not have been surprised if the president had announced we were going to colonize Mars. Yet, if Nostradamus has marked this leader in his distant future by his unique nickname ‚Äö?Ñ?Æ W = Dubieux ‚Äö?Ñ?Æ Bush’s ambitions will sour into burdens he will not be able to maintain.

The use of the French maintenir (will maintain) suggests a collapse, a departure, someone not at the helm for the allotted time on history’s watch. Add to this Nostradamus use of dubieux (phonetically dubeeyuh) only twice in his entire work of 36,000 words of prophecy: first as a noun and later as an adjective in two seemingly linked prophecies shown above. The prophet is implying a specific future leader, fighting a great and worldwide war, faltering, undermined by scandal, a rebellious legislative branch and finally tragedy. If this is about Dubya Bush he will be unable to finish his term, his life, perhaps. A Doubtful-W-Dubya is the “younger” born president of the same family. The other, elder “W” is his father, George Herbert W. Bush. The “calumny” lodged against the son-President Bush comes from “enormous and warlike deeds” being somehow poorly managed or initiated by false pretenses, such as those used to argue an invasion of Iraq — weapons of mass destruction that didn’t exist. Thousands of Americans dead, no weapons of mass destruction found, Bush’s once historic high favorability polls after 9/11 plummet to some of the lowest approval points of any American president since Nixon resigned his presidency because of the Watergate Scandal.

Nostradamus may play his wicked pun saying the father (“elder one”) was the lesser part doubtful in comparison. Herbert “Dubya” Bush waged a successful Gulf War in 1991. His son’s Gulf War now in Iraq (2003‚Äö?Ñ?Æ) is a disaster on hold, at the moment of this writing. It could spread to Iran in 2008. Bush the younger was quite unlike his globetrotting father. He had little prior experience of the world beyond a visit to neighboring Mexico (“Dubya will not come far from the realm.”).

In a quatrain numbered after America’s symbolic number 13, we find the only time Nostradamus uses the word “Capitol” in his prophecies. It is the US Capitol Building. Apparently in the final year left to this president more military blunders and scandals are coming. Perhaps the worst yet. In the worst case scenario, legislators from his own Republican Party unite with their Democratic Party opposites in impeachment proceedings that deem him unfit to rule.

A “patrician deed” could indicate the source of a scandal, or better, the mother of all scandals born out of cherry picked intelligence agendas of the President and his cabinet that saw a CIA spy’s cover blown, Valerie Plame. This Valerie Plame-gate will not go away in 2008. The scandal that saw a Vice President’s chief advisor, Scooter Libby, indicted for perjury by the special patrician prosecutor (patrician is Latin for Patrick) Fitzgerald.

Will casting blame in Plame-gate be the new Watergate of our times?

Unable to maintain his burden of office, will Bush be forced to resign? As threatened earlier, Senator Joe Biden, the Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, will move to impeach the President and Vice President if they should order a unilateral attack on Iran, especially as the intelligence community in late 2007 concluded that Iran has had no active nuclear weapons program for years. Release of the NIE (National Intelligence Estimate) could be a sign that the NSA, CIA and Pentagon are waging a quiet mutiny against the president’s Iran war mongering. Watch for a Pentagon rebellion of the top brass in April or May 2008. That’s when time and the remaining threads of military and political credibility run out for Bush going to war with Iran. After that, it is Israel’s call.

The low point in presidential politics in 2008 could be a constitutional crisis between those of the Capitol and the White House. “Not wanting” him to rule does not mean those of the Capitol can achieve impeachment of President Bush. Other causes for departure might be health related.

Parallel to what Nostradamus may be saying in these two prophecies, some believe the president, either elected or stealing the election of 2000, did so under the malefic aspect of Jupiter conjoined with Saturn. It happens once every 20 years, and it so happens that every 20 years a US president wins an election under this sign and dies in either his first or second term. After Harrison in 1840, only Reagan has survived his brush with death so far. Astrologers tell us he barely survived assassination in 1981 because the conjunction in 1980 transited an air sign ‚Äö?Ñ?Æ he is the only president to enjoy such a softening effect.

Bush may survive the presidency, as I hope he does, because the evil aspect only works on the man who actually was the legitimate president, or the man in Bush’s cabinet that many believe runs the White House as America’s first de facto prime minister. The president, if he is a doubtful leader, is someone easily manipulated, rendered symbolic rather than substantial by Vice President Dick Cheney. If Bush survives but his powerful Vice President in Chief should die from a heart attack, then prophecy might declare the curse yet again fulfilled.

ASSESSMENT (19 January 2009):
Bush is fortunate that the only thing lost was his legacy and not his life, though in his case it is a good thing that as a former president he will keep a Secret Service detail for a decade. No president since Richard Nixon has left office so disfavored. Nixon eventually regained respect as an elder statesman; however, even Nixon in disgrace didn’t face the calumny that Bush will endure. I hope for his case, and the safety of his security detail, that the ballistics flung his way will be no more lethal than a dirty shoe or two at public appearances. Although Biden’s impeachment threat remained idle, Congressman Denis Kucinich of Ohio did tender a request on the House of Representatives floor for articles of impeachment to proceed. It was tabled.

May came and went and Bush thereafter was unable to instigate a war with Iran. Incidents in the Strait of Hormuz, and the most strident saber rattling so far coming from Israel, Bush, and the President of Iran in retort fortunately did not lead to war in Bush’s final year in office. The danger is imminent in 2009 because it remains absolutely the last chance Israel can strike Iran. The new US president may wage touch and fair diplomatic initiatives to counterbalance the new Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s saber rattling and avoid a conflict. There will also be a new Iranian president in 2009 and I believe a more pragmatic one.

Bush’s diplomatic cram in the last year of his presidency to achieve his roadmap to Palestinian peace went nowhere and the year ended with a new Arab-Israeli war in the Gaza Strip that extinguished any modest goodwill or progress to peace he garnered in the region. Bush in 2008 kept pushing Russia aggressively. Russia finally pushed back. Bush’s new model ally on its border, Georgia, invaded South Ossetia in August 08, and got counter-invaded by Russia — its US armed and trained army routed.

Bush leaves office with the US facing renewed Cold War tension with Russia. Though Iraq has actually improved, after Bush finally acted upon advice given him many years earlier, his greatest blundering did come in 2008 when he rashly threw nearly a trillion dollars of taxpayer’s money at the financial bank crisis and in his usual habit, did so without promising any oversight. The financial bank system was near about nationalized. The economy was not stimulated, the Dow Jones continued to crash all the way down to 7,400 points in November and there’s no accounting of where half the bailout money went. Bush in this parting scandal hands his successor tomorrow an extra “thanks 1.2 trillion” dollar deficit.

The curse of the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction saw neither Bush nor his Vice President in Chief, Cheney, dying in office. This brings to mind with the fulfillment tomorrow on 20 January 2009 of a destiny I first explained over eight years ago, back in November 2000. On Coast to Coast AM with Ian Punnet, I forecast the two possible presidential future timelines of an Al Gore or Bush presidency while the Florida count was still in dispute. I told the audience that the curse could be a “political” assassination of Gore, rather than literal: the true president, denied his office, surrendered to an illegitimate pretender.

PS‚Äö?Ñ?ÆI hope to have more blogs appearing every other day again. Most of my waking hours (comprising a lion’s share of the 24-hour cycle these days) are dedicated to finishing my next almanac of forecasts: Predictions for 2009. Look for it posted for sale at Hogueprophecy.com come 30 January.

A longtime and much appreciated corresponder named Morris today inspired my writing. I want to share his letter and my response with you all.

MORRIS:
John, I am in general agreement with your analysis as expressed in Fate of Hamas, Part 3. The last part of your response to Chris however, raises a question in my mind. It is a personal question which you may not wish to answer. Are you an atheist?

HOGUE REPLIED:
I would have to personify the religious mystery to be either a theist or its opposite side of the coin, an atheist. Experiencing religious revelation is far more vast and equally far too small and too intimate to be contained in any language or personification cooked up by language tailored to my reactive, semi-cognizant, mostly mechanized mind of society manufacture.

I would pose to you a hypothesis framed less-than-satisfactory with the reactive mind’s dialectical words:

Where belief reigns, the soul is suppressed. Eternal being is retarded until all cloaks of belief are understood. When witnessing consciousness of soul understands, the cloaks of belief simply begin to slip off and perhaps we gain a glimpse of naked mystery known as truth.

MORRIS:
Based on your writings I have imagined your beliefs to be what might be called “universalist”.

HOGUE REPLIED:
I am universal. However, I am not a believer of anything. I seek to “know” and if I cannot at this moment “know” then I embrace this universal “no knowing” as messiah.

If you have understood my writings, there can be nothing religious in being a believer.

I would like to share with you and all others reading this blog, a glimpse of a future understanding that will be commonplace in the coming era of the New Humanity:

Belief is a nice word for qualified ignorance about a thing indoctrinated that is borrowed from others — more authoritarian perhaps — but no less ignorant about the religious mystery than you or I.

That is why in the future, all the things we currently “believe” about religions will fade away. All the religions you now see around the world, even those “anti-religion religions” called Atheism, or politico-religious cults called Communism, Fascism or Free Markets, will all fade away. And when they do, humanity will at last be free to be for the first time religious.

If we desire to see the tragedy of Gaza disappear in a world living in blissful peace we will first have to see the false facades and programmed belief systems called “Jew” or “Arab” or “Christian” or “Muslim” or “Buddhist” or “Israeli” or “Palestinian,” fade away from our souls.

When a human being is simply a human being, then there will be true religiousness enlightening a peaceful world.

MORRIS:
You blame religion for the world’s wars and misery but such atheists as Stalin, Mao, Phol Pot, etc. have also killed multiple millions.

HOGUE REPLIED:
First off, I do not call what is popularly bandied about for five millenniums as “religion” being actually the real deal.

True religion has yet to appear on this planet. What you call religion, I call spiritual retardation under a “Papal”-Mache pious mask called religion.

Faith, like belief, is another false foundation word for ‘religion on the cheap and unearned.’”

That will be the maxim of the New Humanity coming.

This is what the habit of belief does to us. It programs us to draw conclusions without risking the effort of personal experience or investigation because these virtues of human intelligence must be suppressed or mesmerized to uphold a belief system — religious or otherwise.

MORRIS:
If you could briefly characterize your beliefs regarding the supernatural, if any, I would be most appreciative.

HOGUE REPLIED:
I have no beliefs. I experience the mundane and super-natural existence, moment to moment. If I had a belief for or against the supernatural it would retard my deeper investigation into “it.”

Answer cannot come from written questions; nevertheless, we can try to ask the write questions at least. Please keep trying.

Thank you for all the letters in response to my controversial entry about the Gaza Strip battles being a marriage of victims to victimizers.

I will take a short break from writing Predictions for 2009 (planned release date: 30 January) and respond to Kathleen and Chris.

KATHLEEN:
John, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again:

If I am being bullied, starved, held prisoner in my home with no running water, if all attempts to provide me with aid is being blocked by my imprisoners, do you not think that, given the means to do so, I would hire the biggest, baddest bully on the block to fight back for me when I couldn’t?

HOGUE REPLIED:
Hi Kathleen,

The Palestinians in Gaza overtly or passively did allow or directly choose the biggest bully on the block. Look what he’s done for them? He has brought full-scale fighting in their streets, in their homes.

The path of the sword is not the answer. Nor is the path to pacifism. War and peace are two sides of the same unconscious, reactive victimizer-victim mind set.

The path of consciousness shows another way to those ready to understand their mechanical and reactive minds conditioned into them by their societies from birth onwards. Until then, all that we do is done from an unconscious, reactive mind-set.

KATHLEEN:
This is why the Hamas was elected in Gaza – yes, they are extremists, however the Israeli’s have been more than extreme in their manner of dealing with both the Palestinians and Gaza for far too long.

HOGUE REPLIED:
Has Hamas helped? Except make the people of Gaza more victimized?

KATHLEEN:
And they have been able to act in this manner thanks to the full support of a self interested US government, a biased American media, the UN (which does not want to admit what a huge mistake was made and therefore accept responsiblity for that mistake). Is Hamas right? Of course not.

HOGUE REPLIED:
You are defending the right of people to pick a bully who can’t fight the bigger bully without destroying those who picked him. This kind of circular unconscious and reactive thinking is the very stuff in us that makes Gaza Strip tragedies.

KATHLEEN:
Is Israel right in its reaction? Absolutely not.

But children are dying. The blood of innocents is running in the streets. Isn’t that all that matters?

HOGUE REPLIED:
So the answer is we help those innocent children by picking the biggest baddest bully on the Gaza Street. He then lobs hundreds of rockets at the innocent children of the regional superpower bully neighbor. Our Israeli neighbor then has enough of that and in comes Hell, cranking on tank treads sending a rain of artillery and missile fire upon our children. Then comes along you, defending the bullies, who are absolutely wrong but worthy of your defense. The very same bullies who set this mess off and thus make our children bleed, and their suffering and bleeding is all that matters.

Don’t laugh at Kathleen, laugh at yourselves.

In this line of thinking hides the core of human misery to those who can look into themselves and see it with a witnessing consciousness.

I assure you, you all have the same programmed mind running around inside your heads to various degrees. Kathleen’s conditioned mind shows a reactive reasoning that exists in all our reactive minds so be compassionate to her and to yourselves. Understand this mind. That’s how you eventually stop the bleeding of children.

With some awareness and understanding, perhaps helped along by practicing a science of self-observation, perhaps you, me, Kathleen and all the other 6.5 billion sleepwalkers can understand their waking-nightmares, and with that understanding be changed into something wonderful.

John imchallange you to show any proof of ownership of land of palestinians!!!

HOGUE REPLIED:
Sure thing, Chris. Go to the records departments of any Palestinian refugee camp. Go to the households of many Palestinian refugees and you will find the tattered deeds to lands they had evacuated from in 1948. Of course, you could perhaps find as many deeds of proof in the records and households of those East Prussians who vacated that region in the final terrible months of World War Two.

Much is risked when taking up the sword of war. The Germans under Hitler, if they had won would have taken other people’s lands all the way east to the Ural Mountains. Nevertheless, they lost, and completely. Those East Prussian lands to which deeds are established were lost on the path of war.

Palestinians hold deeds to lands they lost because they openly or passively supported the decisions of their leaders, primarily their chief religious elder, The Grand Mufti, to push the Jews to the sea and as the Mufti, a Nazi sympathizer liked to say, finish the job Hitler started.

Well, if they had won, we might be having Jewish survivors waving their deeds instead, but the Palestinians chose — or had chosen for them — the sword and it was struck from their hands by an enemy that proved to be no pushover. Those lands are lost and the deeds are worthless now, but they are testimony to land once owned by Palestinians.

you are correct about the age old batle but simply cannot get by your own anti religious bias to see the root cause of this situation.
from the nile to the euphrates is israeli land -promised and written about 2500 years ago. i think we might be seeing thew beginnings of the reestablishment of this covenant.

HOGUE REPLIED:

The root cause of all of this tragic silliness is what people for the past 5,000 years have called “religion.” A great example is the above assumption, borrowed and hypnotized into each new generation from the distant past all the way down to believers of today. We are trained to drink these ideas up blindly, without question, no matter how poisoned laced. All the so-called religions do this.

In the name of religion, love, a Prince of Peace, etc, more blood has been spilled than for any other reason. They are doing it now in Arab Gaza. They are doing it now in Jewish towns and villages with their rockets. The mesmerized and mechanicalized minds of conditioned human beings are trained to borrow their revelations and doctrines from others. These priestly mafias are as unaware as ourselves, but more authoritarian, charismatic. They dream the nightmare of the “overlord” whilst we are programmed to dream the nightmare of the “overwelmed” rather than seek religious revelation alone, upon our own merit and the pure authority and power of our experience.

There is a New Humanity coming. Their religiousness will be grown up and free of all of this false dogma and holy hypocrisy.

When they will look back at us from that golden future, they will wonder at and feel pity for our eons of stupidity committed in the name of religion. They will understand something we as of yet cannot see in your hypnotic blindness: that the greatest curse befalling us, hindering our spiritual evolution, was our so-called religions. In the name of the noblest ideas of enlightenment, revelation, love, peace and forgiveness, our mafias of the soul, our religions and their priests and priestesses preached unconsciousness, hate, war and condemnation of our fellow man and woman.

One of these days, I hope to convince Discovery to give the sympathetic skeptics like myself the chance to retort sloppy and lazy skeptical inquiry.

Although they cut my skeptical take on the Lost Book of Nostradamus alluding to the Mayan Calendar purportedly ending in 2012, it is well worth watching for all the things they “did” allow me to say in the final cut, because they are far more immediate and significant to your near future.

George Noory and me spent three hours going over prophecies of astrologers, Nostradamus and myself in Predictions for 2010 in an attempt to anticipate a summer of upheaval, natural disasters leading to an autumn of economic crisis. Israeli air strikes on Gaza City.

Friends,
The Gaza strip is on fire. This Palestinian refugee enclave-cum-failing attempt of a Palestinian State, run now by the Islamic fundamentalist organization HAMAS, has been lobbing  escalating volleys of rockets at neighboring Jewish settlements in Israel.

Israel’s long threatened full-scale response has come. It appears the Middle East has yet a new war to mark the New Year. Israeli F-16 bombers have infernally decorated the Gaza City skyline with a grove of mushrooming cloud columns as key Hamas police, government, rocket manufacturing centers and training centers were pulverized by 2,000 pound bombs, initially killing 225 people, local hospitals reported. Cramming those blood-soaked emergency rooms are another 700 wounded, mostly civilians, report Hamas officials.

This is unlike any Israeli surgical attack on Gaza in its long and sad history as a dumping ground for displaced Palestinians after they and other neighboring Arab armies tried to push the Jews into the sea and failed in their war gamble of 1948.

This refugee camp of tents has since become the squalid and vast string of slums crowding an area the size of Washington District of Columbia and teaming with 1.6 million Palestinians. Once a protectorate camp run by the Egyptians, the Israeli’s after the Six Day War of 1967, made it their burden. Some would say, their concentration camp to manage and police. After the US invasion of Iraq in 2003, ill-conceived promptings in part by the Bush administration for democratic elections won the extremists of Hamas a majority control of the Gaza Strip over the more secular and Western-friendly Palestinian Fatah Party (winning a majority in the West Bank). Unlike Fatah, Hamas does not acknowledge Israel’s right to exist. Israel pulled out all settlements and policing of the Gaza Strip in 2005. However, most of the Palestinians within Gaza believe their jailers have only moved outside of the wall of the concentration camp, controlling their airspace and approaches to their ports. Even Palestinian money meant to finance basic government services has been withheld by Israel. Then again, why should the Israelis help a government function in Gaza that bombs its cities with rockets and blows up its civilians with suicide bombers?

Then again‚Äö?Ѭ?(there are far too many “then agains” when trying to unravel the ancient hatred of cousin-brother Semites — Arab and Jewish sons of biblical Abraham).

Then again, Israel took Gaza from Egypt in 1967 and didn’t give it back to Egypt when territories were returned with the Camp David Peace Accords in 1979. Then again‚Äö?Ѭ?Egypt probably didn’t want it back. Even for other Arabs, the Palestinians are often seen as a problem tribe.

There was a man born of Jews in 1503 who had recently converted to Christianity, so that they wouldn’t be banished from Provence. He may have named notorious “HAMAS” in the following prophecy written 4.5 centuries ago. I have inserted the “H” in the French word “amas” as it may have been purposely dropped to keep it in code:

Is this a prophecy for the “miserable republic” that Hamas runs in the Gaza Strip? Are Gaza’s citizens suffering bombardment today decendants of the “wicked exile” of the Palestinian Diaspora? Is Nostradamus hiding the United Nations in a code for the Swiss who have within their borders, in Geneva, the main UN center outside of New York City, in Europe?

BBC reported today that Israel’s Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said the unprecedented military operation “may take some time” before it’s over — but he pledged to avoid a humanitarian crisis.

“It’s not going to last a few days,” he said on Israeli television, flanked by Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak and Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni.

The prime minister is under the delusion of wishful thinking. We will see this in the next blog about the future of Hamas when we delve in detail into the secrets hidden in Nostradamus’ Hamas quatrain.

Of Gandhi’s Fourth and Nuclear War?

Friends,
The crisis begins. One that could overshadow all others coming in the New Year of 2009.

Today (26 December 2008), Associated press reports Pakistani troops are heading for the border with India. The 20,000 men of the 14th Infantry Division have moved to forward positions between the towns of Kasur and Sialkot along the disputed militarized border frontier dividing Kashmir known as the Line of Control. Intelligence reports describe large Pakistani units previously fighting al-Qaeda and Taliban terrorists are pulling out of West Pakistani tribal regions heading east in preparation to man the Indo-Pakistani line. Two strategic goals of the Mumbai terrorist attacks have been fulfilled: 1.) Renew a crisis between India and Pakistan; and, 2.) Relieve the military pressure brought to bear on al-Qaeda and Taliban centers of operation in Western Pakistan along the border of Afghanistan.

Usama bin Laden, one of Nostradamus’ chief candidates for what he calls Mabus, the Third Antichrist, is the dean of global jihadist terrorism. He has trained those who trained Pakistani terrorist commandos who inflicted death and chaos in the heart of Mumbai’s financial district in November. Though he does not, indeed needs not, directly overlord or even plan these attacks, he is responsible for the evil vision and training of those who do.

A great destruction of people and animals, as Nostradamus predicted may be Usama bin Laden’s intent. It will include the martyrdom of Pakistan in a nuclear war with infidel Hindu-dominated India that is intended to unite and radicalize one-sixth of the world’s people who are Muslim to wage jihad.

The nukes and rumors of nukes being stockpiled in South Asia since the late 1980s has compelled hot headed hawks in the governments of India and Pakistan to rush to the brink of war a number of times yet so far they dare not cross that apocalyptic line. I was in India during one of those rushes to that line. It was in the first half of 1990. I reflected upon those days eleven years later in what was written below in December 2001, framing them in childhood memories of the closest time the world came to doomsday:

During the Cuban Missile Crisis I watched loved ones peer into soft October skies waiting for Armageddon to fly on contrails of missiles and B-52 bombers. The tension I experienced in India reminded me of those thirteen frightening days from my childhood. I walked in the Indian valleys in the shadow of immanent nuclear death. That feeling returns to me now eleven years later [December 2001] as I watch developments in this newest crisis. I feel India and Pakistan moving inexorably towards the dark frontiers of a fourth war [forseen by Mahatma Gandhi] on the tank treads of mobile ballistic missile launchers.

A FOURTH –AND NUCLEAR — WAR?

In mid-December 2001, eight terrorists identified as members of the Kashmiri insurgent organizations of Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e Tayyaba, stormed the Indian Parliament in New Delhi. All eight men were killed along with six Indian security servicemen in a failed attempt to annihilate the political leadership of India. Soon afterwards large contingents of the 1.3-million-man Indian army and six-hundred-thousand-man Pakistani army began moving into position facing each other in the winter fastness of Kashmir along the disputed Line of Control. Farther south you see them park their tanks and set up their mortars and artillery along the partition line drawn 54 years before, dividing the heavily populated regions of Punjab. They position their anti-aircraft batteries and mobile ballistic missile launchers behind dunes in the deserts along the western edge of Rajasthan. They prepare dugouts for over a million soldiers down along an invisible line, drawn on the maps of politicians, across the Himilayan fastness of Kashmir all the way down to the salt marshes of the Rann of Kutch along the Arabian Sea.

And there those million men of India, and a half-million men of Pakistan, wait; hopeful for a diplomatic solution.

On Friday, 21 December [2001], the Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan, Vijay K. Nambiar, promptly left the Pakistani capital declaring a diplomatic impasse. He had learned that Pakistan would not immediately arrest all leaders and members of Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e Tayyaba organizations and dismantle their training camps in the Pakistani occupied portion of Kashmir.

Given the new and darker world we live in after terrorists harbored by rogue nations crashed hijacked jets into New York’s skyline and the US Capital, India feels within its rights to demand of Pakistan what America demanded of Taliban ruled Afghanistan: a) arrest all terrorists within their borders; b) close down and destroy their training camps; c) seize and destroy their weapons; and, d) face a full scale military retaliation if there is no compliance to every demand.

What indeed would Americans demand of Pakistan if they where in India’s place? If terrorists from camps in Pakistani-controlled Kashmir had sprayed the US Capitol Building with grenades and machine guns in an attempt to slaughter the US Senate and US House of Representatives, what would the United States do?

By adopting the Bush terrorism doctrine, India could soon launch an attack on terrorist camps in Pakistani territory but this time, the fourth war foreseen by Gandhi could go nuclear. Current estimates place Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal at 8 to 20 atomic bombs, each with a destructive force similar to those used by the United States in their nuclear attack on Japan in 1945. India may have anywhere from 25 to 40 similarly destructive atomic weapons in its arsenal.

When Gandhi and Jinnah debated the partition of India, there were 340 million people in the balance. Fifty-four years and an explosion of population later, Gandhi’s warning of a fourth and catastrophic war places up to 1.2 billion South Asians in the balance. In the worst case scenario, history’s first nuclear “bush” war could extinguish far more people than all those lost in both world wars of the 20th century. The death toll could be in the hundreds of millions.

The descriptions above, written exactly seven years ago, sound like today’s news. New terrorist attacks out of Pakistan on India, this time Mumbai, compel Indian leaders to demand the extradition of culprits and the dismantling of camps. It only seems the names of these leaders and organizations have changed. Now, starting with today, begins the military buildup along the border, the ramp up of tensions that could lead us weeks or months away from the brinksmanship of nuclear conflict in South Asia, like before, if this time India moves to punitive attacks on terror camps inside Pakistan.

A report released in May 2002 entitled Disarmament Diplomacy: News Review – India and Pakistan Camped on Brink of War over Kashmir estimated a worst-case scenario death toll far lower than my estimate. The defense agency report calculated an initial 8-12 million deaths in a nuclear exchange. Millions more later would succumb to radiation poisoning which they did not wish to specify.

“That’s the worst-case scenario,” said an unamed Defense Department official, commenting on the paper, “If we have correctly guessed the number of weapons each side has, and their targets, and presuming they’re all ground bursts versus air bursts… The fatalities if they were air bursts would be slightly smaller by maybe a million, but…that’s still a very significant number…”

The report doesn’t factor in collteral death tolls from disease and famine caused by the destruction of urban Indian and Pakistani urban centers. Maybe a million? The tone of the study almost makes the unthinkable, sound possible. The possible is a view military hawks on both sides of the Line of Control push as sustainable. This mindset is immune to the concept of Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD) that kept the Soviets and the Americans from fighting a nuclear war for nearly a half-a-century during the Cold War.

In Part Five of Mumbai 9/11, we ask the prophet Nostradamus for his take on a future Indo-Pakistani nuclear war. He may have described it over four centuries before it may happen.

Bush flew into Iraqi International Airport for a brief 2.5-hour photo op to praise the troops and pass the cranberries at a 2003 Thanksgiving Day dinner celebration, the first after his mission in Iraq was “accomplished.”

All Michael Moore-onic diuretic surges to judgment aside, our fearless president, ducking in and out of Baghdad before anyone in the growing Iraqi insurrection might take a pot shot at Air force One, was a “real” Turkey holder. The bronzed and perfectly glazed bird was not plastic, as Moore and other Donkeycrat blogs enthused. It “was” too good to be eaten, though, because it was cooked by US contractors as a decoration plate, commonly adorning the mess eateries of US forces abroad.

Don’t think that I’m clearing the name of a Lame Duck turned a turkey on that opening clandestine junket to Iraq. Have you ever had a surprise guest come over to your feast, get a little too excited, wanting to show off, grab a large dinner decoration off the table and start wandering about your guests: a little too much “Ho, ho, ho,” happy “Hollandazed and confused”?

That’s what the Bush Turkey from Texas did. He traipsed around less for the guests — the 600 soldiers in the makeshift Iraqi Airport cafeteria — far more as the lightning rod for flashes of press cameras. Out stuck his proud chest, wide cracked his Joker “V” of a grin in full bemused fool mode, arms hugging the trophy turkey tableau he pinched from the main table to goof and swagger with it around the serried ranks of libating and masticating soldiers. Shucks! What a great idea!

Advance five Holiday Seasons ahead. Hurdle with the speed of Air Force One jet engines as fast as you can past a legacy of 4,500 coalition force fatalities, another 1,000 sometimes-Turkey decorating US contractors, 30,000 US military wounded and 2,000 more wounded contractors. Get some distance and altitude to hop over turbulent memories of over a half million dead Iraqis, and untold Iraqi injured, or untold thousands imprisoned and tortured by coalition troops or Iraqis becoming hostages for ransom by Sunni and Shia insurrectionists, or al-Qaeda. Fly, you turkey, fly into Iraq International Airport for one more photo op: the signing ceremony with Iraqi’s Prime Minister al-Maliki for that agreement that in earlier years Bush swore he’d never scratch with pen: a fixed and binding scheduled binding withdrawal of US forces out of Iraq by 2011.

Up came al-Maliki and Bush to their respective podiums for a press conference and off came an Iraqi journalist’s shoes hurled at Bush. The president showed he still had his artful dodging politician and former Yale cheerleader dance steps and blow avoiding ways. Shoe soles seasoned with the open sewered main mean streets of Baghdad just missed the mark, but the stunt by a well known Iraqi TV journalist, someone whose family and person were directly impacted by the consequences of US occupation, was celebrated across Islamic countries of the Middle East. Anyone who has lived in Arab lands will tell you that even crossing your legs in a chair to show the bottom of your footwear is a major insult. Throwing your shoes is THE WORST insult in Arab culture. It is not only filthy but also the supreme gesture of un-manning disrespect of the target.

The journalist Muntazer al-Zaidi who works for Al-Baghdadia channel broadcasting from Cairo, flung them with an Arabic invective that translates to: “It is the farewell kiss, you dog. This is from the widows, the orphans and those who were killed in Iraq.”

Those on the path of meditation and self-awareness will tell you that being the target of such incidents will reveal more than a person’s true character. When undergoing a shocking event, people can reveal their true potentials — the depth of their heart and souls.

The most powerful man in the world, the man who unilaterally invaded a country which caused the death of hundreds of thousands of Iraqis had a moment to speak intelligently with compassion on the lingering and abject anger seething in the country even the world court considers he illegally occupied. This is the very same anger people hold for Westerners who talk democracy but kill Arabs they earmark for liberaton by the hundreds of thousands. Bush has been consistently clueless how to address the anger that feeds al-Qaeda and other terrorist groups the Muslim men fighting and killing Americans.

Bush had a moment if his soul could use that dedicated idiotic mind to respond to an act so socially heinous that symbolically before the televisions of the world tied Bush as equal to the hated dictator he overthrew. The people of Iraq in 2003 beat the fallen statues of Saddam with their shoes. Now a man throws his shoe in 2008 at the liberator and has become an international hero. What sage response in gesture or thoughtful word could this president do or utter, to acknowledge this anger and pain, and transcend it? Bush needed to come up with a Barack Obama speech like the one the president elect delivered during the primaries to take the subject of racism beyond his mentor Rev. Wright’s racist hatemongering. Did Bush have it in him, after ducking the shoes, his own Obamanian phrase or two that would deftly deflect Arab peoples from shoe slapping Saddam statues as synonymous to shoe popping him?

Iraqi security guards beat and dragged al-Zaidi out of the room leaving a trail of blood. They closed the doors of the press room and continued to pummel the man outside who had survived being a hostage of Iraqi Shia terrorists a year before. Witnesses outside reported that the guards took his cell phone and used it to threaten al-Zaidi’s family.

You could hear his screams beyond the door as Bush, smirking and bobbing his head at the podium collected himself and quipped, “That’s what people do in a free society, draw attention to themselves.” Then he grinned and added, “If you want the facts, it was a size 10 shoe that he threw.”

He further off-handedly trivialized the incident afterwards in interviews adding: “I don’t know what the guy’s cause is… I didn’t feel the least bit threatened by it.”

“The guy wanted to get on TV and he did.” (Chuckle, wink, smirk).

Thus spoke a candidate for Nostradamus’ Antichrist. He is among the most prominent candidates, including Saddam Hussein (Antichrist as the classic Stalinist-Hitlerian dictator), Usama bin Laden (Antichrist as the religious extremist) and then there’s George Bush.

In a chapter on Bush for my newest digital book MABUS, I wrote the following:

“If, and I stress again, ‘if’ Bush is indeed the Third Antichrist then he will contribute a new attribute, or the crystallization of a kind of evil unanticipated. The signs of this are again divulged by a deeper understanding of the anagram MABUS. Some of my readers have pointed out that Mabus rhymes with the French ma buse, meaning ‘my blockhead’ or ‘my dolt.’ Arabic television news networks, such as al-Jazeera, coming out of the Middle East would allow many a straight-faced news anchor man or woman to address Bush as President abush. I am told it means ‘idiot’ in Arabic. Nostradamus certainly was French and his prophecies evidence a working understanding of Arabic. He also loved to lace his prophecies with wicked puns. Perhaps the term Mabus implies that the Third Antichrist is evil incarnate as an idiot brandishing ultimate power. He’s akin to a wooden-headed puppet of Nostradamus’ day, like Punch and Judy, his strings pulled by other invisible political forces, puppeteers.”
