Interesting… I was just having a conversation with my neighbors at the strange behavior and voracious eating habits this year of the crows here in Alabama. The crows roost in the tall trees behind my property, and for years have been living peacefully here with the other birds. This year, the crows are eating all the other birds, and they are not being conspicuous about it, either. It is pretty shocking.

My husband and I are probably going to have to relocate this year. Your weather predictions are a big part of us deciding where to go. Apparently, no place is going to be really good, but we do hope to avoid the truly awful.

The wildlife in our area (Boerne, just north of San Antonio, Texas) has been acting very strangely this year. The old timers are telling me something big is going to happen in June, either a hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico and subsequent flooding in the Texas Hill Country, or severe drought. Herds of deer are feeding in the middle of town and along IH10 in the middle of the day, cottontails are so busy eating they do not run away from us, and the bees and hummingbirds are feeding voraciously. A friend of mine in Corpus Christi who has been conducting kayak fishing tours along the intracoastal told me a week ago that he has never seen the fish behaving as strangely as they have been the past month and he is seeing species of fish that normally do not come close to shore. In early April hummingbirds were flying south to Mexico fifty miles offshore, behavior never seen before. I’m currently feeding a raccoon who appeared this week, at first I thought she was a possum because she had no fur on her tail. A year ago I had a whole family of healthy fat raccoons eating the leftover cat food, this starving coon is all that’s left. I agree with your prediction of some wild weather this year.
