East Coast Earthquake

Busy times! Two prophecy news flashes in less than 24 hours. Both about seismic events: yesterday political (see below); today, a quake with an epicenter near Washington DC that was felt all across the Eastern Seaboard states all the way west to Chicago Illinois. Millions fan out into the streets of major US cities like  the nation’s capital, New York, Philadelphia. Nuclear plants have been shut down. Rail and airports, shut down for a time as crews check for damage. The last time the Virginia/Washington area experienced a magnitude 5.8 or 5.0 quake was 114 years ago! When the quake happened I was composing the first few lines of an article about what I predict will be the most volatile month of an already volatile year of 2011. I have called it the year of 12 catastrophes, because something major and earth shaking in economy, politics, the climate shift or other natural disasters have hit nearly every month.

This is the line for a new article I was composing the moment the quake struck:

“We approach what may be the most volatile month of the year. My oracle calls it the month of seven seismic events. These are not just natural disasters of earthquakes and tsunamis. There also will be quakes shaking the foundations of nations and economies…”

Gaddafi Regime Collapsing

Breaking news, thy name is life under the sudden and convulsive surprises possible during a Pluto Square Uranus astrological aspect. I just finished this article about the future of food sustainability and a few moments later, Libyan rebels playing out a real life “Mad Max, Beyond Thunderdome” drive their desert rat trucks bristling with machine guns and RPGs into the heart of Gaddafi’s lair, Tripoli. There is much Nostradamus may have written about Libya as a catalyst for the radicalization of North Africa and the Middle East in his Armageddon scenario, if this most tribally divided of Muslim countries should now unravel into the mayhem of an even wider multilateral civil war.

Modern Libya is the land of the Barbare (Barbary Coast) as Nostradamus called it in the 16th century. According to him, the Barbare possibly undermine a fragile progress towards friendship between two northern kingdoms who bear eagles as their totems. This would be America (the Bald Eagle) and Russia (land of the double-headed eagle).

Barbare may be an anagram for Arabe — the French spelling of Arab. What happens next in Libya could spread to the Arab world and undermine all chance of fellowship between Russia and America. This could lead to a nuclear confrontation either three or 13 years from now, unless we correctly heed and positively act on the signs of Nostradamus.

Just now, the situation is still quite fluid and chaotic in Libya. I will allow some time to pass to assess where all of this is prophetically going — hopefully going towards a better future, rather than one so dire as the above. There has been a new wave of reruns of my appearances on television across America. Documentaries that are three and even five years old are being broadcast more frequently on History Channel, History International Channel, Discovery and Planet Green channels because today’s events make them more pertinent than ever before.

It is television’s nature that hours of interview are distilled down to a sound byte that at best gives a hollowed out hint of the depth of the core message. I am ever hopeful that the hint is enough for sincere explorers of prophecy matching events that they will “Google the Hogue” as it were. I trust that people who care to change the future for the better will come to this website or read my e-books and printed books to rediscover the meat of my oracle’s message rather than presume to know that message by picking at the bleached photon and electron bones flickering on your television set.

I am grateful to television for sometimes capturing my right “hint” of chief importance to humanity’s future. Especially when the future’s message of fundamental importance to our continued furtherance on this planet gets its bones presented, such as Nostradamus’ clear message of a nuclear war between Russia and America coming “after” the Cold War ended and the Soviet superpower had vanished. The remains of that message has appeared on the Nostradamus Effect and The Next Nostradamus documentaries. The full bodied meat of that message was the opening topic of my Epilogue that described the War of the Third Antichrist in my book Nostradamus and the Antichrist, Code Named: MABUS.

Another critically important and very nasty “surprise” I have tried to send onto television airwaves is the following comment that did make it through the ruthless editorial cuts TV must demand on interviews. This was filmed back in July 2008 in San Antonio for History Channel’s Nostradamus 2012. I first introduced Nostradamus’ quatrain 98 of Century 5, which reads:

At latitude of 48 degrees at the end of Cancer
There is a very great drought.
Fish in the sea, river and lake boiled hectic
From fire in the sky.

Then the camera moved from a Gothic version of Nostradamus’ words magically painting themselves on screen to a shot of myself, where I said the following:

You look on a map…you look at the Northern Hemisphere and ALL the great grain belts of the world are intersected by 48-degree latitude…

Then J.R. Jochmans reminds us of Nostradamus’ global cannibalism prophecy. Then Jochmans’ face vanishes, replaced by an ocean of famished black Africans in a dust-storm ravaged refugee camp, possibly in Darfur or in the Congo with my voice-over leading and return of my image as I add:

Famine is the most dangerous threat to all of us in all prophecies of dire nature, the way you “buy it” in the doomsday is through hunger.

The end of Cancer in astrology describes the latter half of July, the peak weeks in the Northern Hemisphere for summer heat. Look to the nearly dried out lakes across Texas, suffering months of sustained, triple digit temperatures. The fish are hectically swimming in what is left of the water in Texas lakes from the triple digit fire from the skies.

Many of my Texan readers have sent reports like the following, coming from Robert H., which was sent on 28 July:

“In West Texas they have not seen measurable precipitation since last September (now over 300 days!). Does (mother deer) are abandoning their young for lack of food and water. Same with birds as they are abandoning their chicks in the nests. Midland, Texas (a metro area of 250,000 and George W [Bush’s] hometown) will run out of water in its reservoirs in 1 1/2 years without a major rain and is building an emergency pipeline to tap groundwater. It is bad in the oil country of West Texas.”

This extraordinary drought in Texas has shriveled and killed off the corn and wheat crop. Hay has to be imported to feed the decimated livestock and cattle herds. Texan agribusiness will lose an estimated $5 billion dollars this year and this lingering drought is not isolated to Texas alone. Most of Oklahoma, much of Mississippi and the US southeastern states are under extreme drought conditions also destroying their crop yields.

This is not the fulfillment of Nostradamus’ fire-from-the-sky prophecy. It is the first of many alarm bells beginning to ring in regards to our unsustainable habits, which I described in the final chapter of Predictions for 2011.

It is but a taste of what is to come as climate change triggers crop desiccating droughts over Texas and Oklahoma whilst it drowns 200,000 acres of cropland along the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers with record flooding. Note this prophecy again when such events do indeed become the “new normal” after 2012 has been long forgotten as Chicken Little’s last doomsday date.

The fiery Sun drawing its blazing line on latitude 48 across the grain belts of Europe, America, Russia and China will fall into this new norm of crop failures in the 2010s and 2020s that will reverberate in further social unrest in the Middle East, Asia, China and the developing world because of skyrocketing food prices.

You will see the great famine approaching implied by the above Nostradamus prophecy and others describing it directly when time and the bitter harvest of our habitually childish habits and unconscious, programmed actions from today cross over what is foreseen waiting in our tomorrows. We must grow up as a race of potentially sentient beings, or grow thin from not growing enough to sustain our civilization and ourselves.

The great storms and floods that have hit the world’s breadbasket in the first half of 2011, the great grain growing states of the US Midwest, have fallen off the radar of ratings and interest of the mainstream corporate news. Certainly, other stories concern us now: the loss of American and European leadership and credibility in finding economic solutions to their debt problems. After Greece there arises a deepening EU banking crisis concerning Italy and Spain that all point to a slide back into double-digit recession in the late summer or early autumn. Yet, as printing money at the problem inflates it, let not the corporate media’s fixation distract you from a far more volatile, ongoing crisis coming from worldwide food prices continuing to rise because of global warming.

As one of my readers recently wrote. We undergoing a “Climate Shift”. This rolling shift in the world’s climate axis is threatening our means to feed the human race. Climate shifts to extremes that become the new normal string of historic flood of hundreds of thousands of acres of crops this spring. Now America this summer has a heat wave to match the historic cauldron of fire from the skies that visited Russia last year, temporarily knocking her out of the grain export business. Vast tracks of corn and wheat fields across Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Nebraska wilt and shrink in sustained triple-digit heat waves. Consequently, 100-plus temperatures have baked Dallas Texas for 40 days straight before one night of rain fell. Now the days of 100-plus temperatures gather their number once again. And here comes the Hurricane Season with Tropical Storm Irene bearing down on Florida.

That means the latest and greatest Chicken Christian Little, the president and host Harold Camping of American Christian Family Radio, scored another doomsday goofsday. If you are not naked at this moment, reading this HogueProphecy article on your transubstantiated laptop, nook, iPad or cell phone, sitting on a cloud. If you are not feeling crowded off your cloud by 3 percent of the global population (200 million naked ascended folks) called up into the heavens by Christ knows what in the twinkling of an Eye-Pad. If the civilization-ending earthquake wave rolling across every time zone as the clock struck 6 pm did not launch your corporeal form into Jesus space. If you have not been left behind as all of your holier-than-thou friends and neighbors suddenly blasted off, pant suit, suit and tieless, well I guess world prophecy’s longest lasting doomsday cry of “wolf!” has yet again whimpered to no avail and kept the a great and rapturous “unhappening” alive for another prophet anticipated doomsday.

Starting in 2010, the man who predicted this Rapture happening in 1994, math-master-bated mentally a new calculation that 21 May was Mayday of tribulation for the world. Opening God’s last show on a doomed Earth is the ascension, body, bobby socks and soul, of the chosen Christian true believers, teleported right out of their mundane lives into a great nudist camp in the icy clouds on high.

Harold Camping’s take on Rapture/Tribulation prophecies went for the temporal fast food track of tribulation. It will not last the more accepted projection of seven years. Harold is camping on five months for the unbelievers left behind on Earth to convert like the cladless Christian cloudies already saved on high, or see the end of the world take them to hell in a Harold Camping basket on 21 October 2011.

A year before that appointed time, you might have sat on the Rapture date in Colorado Springs posted on park benches. As the last Christmas holiday approached in 2010, you may have seen five recreational vehicles pass you by on the freeways from Seattle, Washington, to Oakland down to Los Angeles, California, with their light catching posting of the doomsday dates in reflector letters and numbers.

Hey! What just rolled by my car in traffic jams from Canada to South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, Texas, Florida, Utah, Maryland, and past burrito stands in Mexico? The same fleet of caravans with adds for the end of Anno Domini digital clock time paid for by the biggest end time ad campaign since nothing eschatologically happened on the turn of the Christian millennium 11 years ago.

Raise your head heavenward this spring and you would have caught a glimpse of the frightened guy squatting before a sun’s fireball orb like he is about to let slip his bowels in trousers on large billboards paid by Christian Family Radio in cities around the US to the tune of a media add campaign costing $100 million dollars.

The only end time, this time is a judgment day of credibility for this wizened, silly little old man who famously predicted and flubbed the last Rapture date in 1994. Once again Camping suffered a stroke of bunkollah Rapture liftoff this time for 2011. Up to yesterday’s “great giddy up morning” Camping defended his new prediction declaring, “I know it’s absolutely true, because the Bible is always absolutely true.”

Such is the case of people who speak in absolutes. It means they are guided by their heart, beyond all reason, to a state of hysteria, resulting in yesterday’s Rapture ruptured faster than you can drop your ascension robe and say “Heaven’s Gate.”

Yes, it is true, the vast majority of Christians rejected Camping’s campy eschatology, including those of you who are Christians and readers of Hogueprophecy too — naughty, naughty J. However, let us be fair. Those of you readers who identify with the Christian flock must bear witness to a bad prophetic habit in your faith. I first criticized it back in the publication of Millennium Book of Prophecy in 1994 (Read an overview of the book by clicking on doomsday May 21st), as you may notice, the year of Mr. Camping’s last dooms-dumbsday Rapture liftoff date is in the following passage:

Like to know when the world will end? Here are some dates proffered by Christianity: 996, 1186, 1533, 1665, 1866, 1931, 1945, 1954, 1960, 1965, 1967 and September 1994. Christian prophets have gambled on more dates for doomsday than any other religion. Perhaps their next cry of “wolf!” won’t be a solo, but just another wail in a chorus singing a song of doom for 2000.

…Back in the 990s, the Christian world held its breath. It was believed that Judgment Day would come a thousand years after the birth of Christ. Medieval preachers interpreted the biblical hordes from the north — from Gog and Magog — to be the fearsome Vikings ransacking their towns and churches. Present-day Sunday school teachers are just as adamant that the Gog-Magogians are the Russians — perestroika and a thawing Cold War aside. On the other hand, today’s believers in virgin births and the rumors of virgin births have one up on their first-millennium counterparts. They haven’t missed the linchpin that unleashes the true Apocalypse: not only must the Jews first return to the Holy Land and re-establish Israel, but also the Temple of Solomon must be rebuilt. In 1989 the petitions for a new temple were so numerous that even the Israeli Ministry of Religious Affairs was pressured to consider the idea for the first time. In late 1990 rumors of Jewish militants coming to set the temple’s cornerstone next to the Dome of the Rock inspired some of the bloodiest rioting to date between Palestinians and Israelis at that sacred spot.

The tenth-century prediction was not fulfilled. Now the bets are on the twentieth. Most Christian seers of this closing millennium stake their wagers on the words of a document discovered in the sixteenth-century monastery of Maria Laach, which says: The twentieth century will bring death and destruction, apostasy from the Church, discord in families, cities and governments… Put in other words by the Abbot Genet, before 1798: The twentieth century will not pass before the beginning of the Judgment.

In the sleepy Indian state of Goa stands the five hundred-year-old Basilica of the Bom Jesus. One can escape the heat and glare of the tropical midday sun and find within the dark interior of a side chapel the cool-to-the-touch silver coffin of St. Francis Xavier. The citizens of this former Portuguese colony will tell you that the body has remained uncorrupted by the tropical climate for five centuries.

The mummified saint is a desiccated device of prophecy. It is foretold that when Xavier’s corpse begins to rot you can set your watch for the onslaught of the latter days. All local claims to the contrary, one need only regard the current state of the Jesuit cadaver-under-glass to confirm that the beginning of the end time has begun.

When “Art” Rang the Doomsday Rapture “Bell”

Something just stinks about all this fore-scheduling of end times. Eleven years ago I had to clear the air a few days into the new millennium when I appeared on Coast to Coast AM on 4 January 2000. Art Bell, the host, set up an intriguing hypothetical situation. Here is the interchange. The transcripts I recovered did not adequately record the spirit of what I said, so I have taken the liberty to improve and expand upon my response 11 years later trusting that truth lives in the eternity of the present. Thus while I am honoring what I said back then, I have presently brought my statements from 2000 up to date hopefully with more eloquence than I could muster at that time, while at the same time endeavoring to preserve Art’s words just as they were transcribed:

ART BELL
I’ve got a question that I want to ask you now and I want you to think about it during the [commercial] break.

HOGUE
All right.

ART BELL
If you woke up one day along with the rest of the world. And found out that a great majority of the Christians over night, had disappeared [in the Rapture] and were no longer on earth. And NBC or CBS or whoever, came to you, John Hogue, and said, “They’re gone. The Christians appear to be gone John. What do you say?”

HOGUE
I’ve got a great answer. Stay tuned.

ART BELL
Right here on this radio station. That’s a dangerous question. I know a lot of people will agree with the answer. And a whole lot will be angry. Hogue is here causing trouble. If you want some input then get on the telephone and call. Because that’s what we’re here for.

COMMERCIAL BREAK COMMENCES…
[There must have been 20 million people across North America pondering what in the “other world” I would say while AM Radio commercial barkers peddled soap and human growth hormones. A few minutes later we were back on the air.]

ART BELL
Here we are in a brand new millennium and the Christians have all been sucked up. And the interview is with John Hogue. Probably with some pretty nervous, you know, like network reporter. They certainly wouldn’t be sucked up. So they’re coming to you and their saying, “John, the Christians are all gone. What do you make of this?”

HOGUE
All right, I want to speak first to the people who believe in doomsday for all of us who are left behind, because any person who I’ve ever talked to who believes they’re going to be taken in a twinkling of an eye, they harbor a certain under the surface good bye you suckers attitude.

Of course you’re going to be happy about being carried off in the Rapture. You’re not going to be here for the seven-year tribulation. So if Hal Lindsey and all those people have gone, I say, “Thank God.”

That’s all I can say. “Thank you God!”

Thank you for answering my prayers.

Now let’s make this world work. Let’s at last strive to make our world a great place to live. Lets get out from under the spell of all these silly, anti-life and apocalyptic fools who have thankfully flown into the clouds.

ART BELL
Oh man. You’re lucky this is not the old days. And I can almost hear lots of crackling hell-fires beneath your feet.

HOGUE
I know. I know. Well fortunately in the 20th and the 21st century there have been a few improvements.

ART BELL
Uh-huh. Well in some ways.

HOGUE
In some ways.

ART BELL
Well, you’re on the air with John Hogue.

Mr. Hogue. The religious impulse has always been strong in the human psyche. Probably second only to the need for self-preservation. So after thousands of years of religious conditioning. Realistically speaking do you think that people will ever be able to break through that impulse and come around to a more sophisticated way of looking at the universe?

HOGUE
I claim it’s happened to me. If a schlep like me can do it, I think anybody can do it.

I grew up with a lot of my family becoming born again Christians and I struggled with the urge to do the same for a long time. Then I suddenly just realized that whatever Christ was — whatever myth of identity was put on the being that was originally named Y’shua — I know he loves me. And I love him. And I don’t need anybody to tell me how to love him.

ART BELL
Or what will happen to you if you don’t.

HOGUE
What will happen is not love. That’s fear. And there’s no love in fear. When people say I fear God, there can be no love there. You fear Adolf Hitler. You don’t fear God.

ART BELL
But even if the Bible said that God was a jealous God?

HOGUE
Human beings wrote those words. I don’t know if God meant that. All I can say is that people wrote it down in a book. People are filled with jealousy. Why would they not color transmissions from God with that green-eyed monster of jealousy in their hearts?

ART BELL
Now you wouldn’t say God would be jealous would you?

HOGUE
Well it sounds pretty immature. I would think somebody who created the universe wouldn’t behave like such a childish human being. It’s so primitive. I mean, the childishness arises again in fairy tales of belief like the virgin birth of Christ.

I’m sorry. (laughing) It’s just not… I cannot… I am free of those fairy tales. Thus, I feel liberated. I feel like a load of a thousand lives has been taken off me. And…

ART BELL
I’m not free John. I’m not, I, you know, I stood where Christ was born. And I felt it. And uh…

HOGUE
Well he was there. I love Y’shua [the original Jewish name of Christ suppressed by Christianity]. This Christ myth? No. I do not support it. But Y’shua I love. I feel communion with Y’shua…

ART BELL
I don’t know how you can separate the two names, how can you really separate? …Out there, there are old writings that are not necessarily subject to the whispering line that I know you would attribute to the Bible. The present day Bible.

HOGUE
All I can say, Art, is there was a time in my teens when I looked at my mother and I said, “I just don’t know how I’m going to sort this thing out about between whether we live just one life or we live many lives.”

Reincarnation was my hole in the wall to peer beyond the dogmatic mindset of “one-life-to-live” Christian thinking.

One short life? I just couldn’t believe that was true, but I wasn’t sure. I was in such existential agony about it. Just one life to live out of 70 short years to find the truth and salvation? What if I’m born in a non-Christian religion? Am I then doomed before I have a chance to know Jesus as a personal savior, because he hasn’t even come to save anybody yet?

Was everyone who lived before Christ gone to hell whether they were virtuous or not? How cruel!

If all the above is true, then God is psychotic. His creation is sick and I’m living in his divine version of a Twilight Zone episode.

All my mother could do was look at me and very softly say, “You know, someday at the right time you will see the point and understand. You’ll see that what people believe is their projections and not really real and God is a lot bigger and more wonderful than what the limited minds of believers in God are told to think by their churches.

When pressure to find an answer to my fundamental spiritual questions grew too a fever pitch of anguish, I’d sometimes exit the house and go out under the stars. I just had to look up at the vast canopy of the universe and think, “God’s too big to be contained in any religion’s man-made books of scripture.

The heavens are huge. Wonderful!

I don’t know what makes it wonderful, but I embrace this vast and yawning-wide unknown. It has a cosmic intimacy.

Eventually my spiritual crisis just came to a point where I realized that if you’re not engaged in being born again every moment, then one has missed and goes on missing the deeper and ongoing message behind the words of what Y’shua meant when he said we have to become like little children, innocent, and be born again.

ART BELL
Ha. Well I actually agree with you. It’s just that you have freed yourself from a lot more dogma then I have. In other words, I do think there is something to what is said in the Bible. I do think that a great percentage of it is the truth. And I do think there was a man named Jesus who did perform miracles. That were miracles then and would be considered such today. So I’m not that free.

HOGUE
Yes, there are many beautiful things in the Bible. I love the Bible. But I’ve also read the Dhammapada of Buddha. I’ve also read the Qu’ran. I’ve also read the Hindu Vedas. There are fragments of truth buried underneath all the dos and don’ts and thees and thous in religious scriptures of the world. There are fragments of things that harmonize with my being in all of the accepted religions. A tenuous, enduring thread of innate religiousness makes us different from the animals. It is human “beingness” that keeps coming back in our teachers of truth, no matter how many times these teachers are persecuted and crucified. True religious teachers ever unsettle our civilized lies. And we in turn entomb their truth in the coffin of dead organization — political organization.

ART BELL
I was amazed though the way you answered my question. I mean basically if all the Christians, you know, the majority were gone you’d say, “good riddance. Now lets get on with the world.”

HOGUE
Lets make it a paradise.

ART BELL
How could you ignore such a massive sign of all that was said to be true?

HOGUE
I’ll take it one step further. Let’s say we’re all standing naked in front of God in the final judgment. I would say to God, “Send me to Hell, because you are a stupid deity. I want to live where all the really intelligent people have been cast away. I will not stay in your kind of spirit-paralyzed paradise. I will not commune with these saintly, wizened, mummy-Mother-Teresan fossils, all these judgmental people that suppressed their lives to be holy and all these retarded mediocrities who bow and kiss your divine backside, singing hallelujah, hallelujah…forever. Hell can’t be as bad as that.”

This God we create and worship matches the mediocrity of our childish minds. A fully mature humanity would not turn to such religions. They would simply be religious and loving and they would need no dogma or doctrine. Love needs no doctrine if it is alive and breathing spirit in us. There is no need for a temple if we have become each that unique temple of blood and bone housing the inner celebration and worship of spirit.

God as an imaginary friend of childish minds creates religious dogmas turning us into mediocrities and frightened people. This God we’ve created is the beatification of our divine illness! He is the only one who needs to jump into his own lake of fire and leave his creations alone.

I dedicate my life to convincing this God to go take a jump in his own lake of fire. I dedicate my life to helping His creations snap out of his illusions of Rapture and Doomsday and all the rest of his holy rot.

You are not created by God, you created this imaginary friend. And in so doing, the godliness that is your very existence is forgotten. Remember your innate godliness. Be guided in every moment by this, this, one thousand times, “this” godliness…

Well I’m in the Pacific Northwest.

A lot of storms up there right now. Is there any lightning?

HOGUE
No. (laughing) I’m still here. No lightning has struck me.

I will be studying translations of it carefully, and hope to make it the subject of my next blog entry, because within its lines could be cryptic messages for sleeper terror cells in Europe and America to move forward with reprisal attacks between now and especially in September as the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks approaches.

Al-Qaeda likes to play the numbers when dating attacks. They like sevens. They have blown up subways and buses in London on 7 July 2005 (7/7 and 2 + 5 = 7). July is the current seventh month in the Gregorian calendar. They like the old calendar “seventh month” too, otherwise known as “September.” It has become our new ninth month in the modern calendar.

Al-Qaeda likes to take down buildings with jets on dates playing with nines (September-as the current ninth month) and elevens (November, the eleventh month). Since September 11, 2001, November has become the more favored month for al-Qaeda inspired acts of lone wolf terrorism, such as Major Hassan’s massacre of unarmed US soldiers at Fort Hood in 2009 and before that, Lashkar e Taiba commandos shot up the financial district, Oberoi and Taj Mahal hotels in Mumbai in November 2008.

What the next blog will also look into are new revelations in Nostradamus casting an entirely new light on the fate of Gaddafi. He is to die soon from a “dart” or “missile”. Bin Laden may be part of the famous anagram prophecy Adaluncatif that decodes into Gaddafi Luna (the Moon).

The moon is the celestial symbol of Islam. Moreover, the long puzzling riddle about the importance of the ocean in the death of Gaddafi and Usama bin Laden may at last be solved.

My favorite weekly paper milled news magazine came out of my P.O. Box 666 all black and white and red with hyperbloggic flying subtitles like How Ignorant are you? and They have found Atlantis? on the periphery of an airbrushed tidal wave behind the manic main title APOCALYPSE NOW: Tsunamis. Earthquakes. Nuclear Meltdowns. Revolutions. Economies on the Brink. What the #@%! Is Next?

I noticed another indication overlooked by Newsweek editors of the oncoming apocalypse in that title. Nostradamus foresaw one of its first warning signs to be a loss of learning and letters. The Newsweek copy editor’s computer did what mine does. When spelling “is” after an exclamation mark, the computer automatically capitalized “Is”. The editor in a decadent, fin de seicle lapse, left it capitalized.

I turn to page three to read what the new Editor-in-Chief named ??!#@%!?? has to say about the new edition. I cannot make out her signature. I mean, is her name Tina Brawn, Eva’s lost descendant, or is it Tuna Brawn, or Tina Brown…???

Whoever she is, she is also the Chief Editor of the e-zine The Daily Beast. She must be as advertised, an intrepid e-News blogger type. Her declining handwriting skills are a giveaway. Being solely on the computer keyboard day and night does to handwriting what wearing Darth Vader’s helmet and mask for 20 years did to Anakin Skywalker’s facial skin color and tone: make it pasty, slack and unrecognizable. Her handwriting is getting almost as unintelligible as mine.

Anyway, one sees “Tuna” (Tina?) in sketchy portrait all bled white like Anakin-cum-Vader. All the Newsweek in-house writers and editors must submit to this cartoonish portrait vogue next to their articles. They each look to me like variations of a white faced clown caught in a paparazzi camera flash semi-made up before painting red round cheeks and gluing on the bulbous red nose had happened. (Gad! I hope she, or Nial Ferguson, or the other staffers are succumbing to a guilty pleasure by reading Hogueprophecy.com today because this is my “embarrassing-portrait” intervention in print. Please lose the half-painted and powdered clown look. It’s indecent Bozo!)

So, along with Newsweek cover headlines like George H.W. Bush was not a wimp and Oprah Winfrey mending fences and Steven King on Can’t-Miss TV, the title of Tina (Tuna?) Brawn’s Notebook segment on page 3 contributed a less subtle alliteration like The Mayhem Mounts: Meltdowns, revolts and economic stress. Her intro had Rasputin-like resurrections of mad dog Gaddafi, asking, “has the world gone crazy” because of the onslaught of news?

All seriousness aside, the Tuna is onto something. History has sped up and it has got a Charlie “Sheen” about it. It is something HogueProphecy readers have been savvy about for years. You all know how bad it must be getting when the Cretaceous thunder-lizard corporate paper and dodo booby TV couch potato’s boob tuber news outlets actually blare out the stuff they usually ridicule us mammal bloggers and e-citizen journalists underfoot for saying. These are indeed apocalyptic times and they are going to continue to get more intense because apocalypse has gone mainstream in our lives.

Whoa there, reader!

How many of you think you know what the word apocalypse means? I doubt even Tina the Brown Tuna, Editor-in-Chief of Newsweek knows because like most news writers, when it comes to eschatalogical, end time themes, her journalism and etymology skills are put aside. Just say “Apocalypse” or “Nostradamus” to these people and they reach for their clichés about the new age and people with placards saying the end is near, blah blah… With shallow consistency, they uphold bromides and brush-offs usually supported by the even more shallow understanding of their smug audiences who passively let the news writers think for them as they patronize them.

Apocalypse is not what most of you habitually lull yourselves into thinking it is. So, when I say the apocalypse is going mainstream, at least understand fully what I mean.

This is what I wrote long ago for The Millennium Book of Prophecy about that word. The times warrant a review:

Apocalypse!

The word conjures visions of divine revenge and the Earth splitting open, welcoming sinners to Satan’s reception. It threatens the final moment when destiny’s back is against the wall and history’s excuses have run out. It is a spiritual foreclosure. A time to pull a mantle of mountains over one’s head and hide from St. John’s acid trip of angels with swords for tongues, who hang on every bleat and low of a lamb with seven eyes. And why? Because Captain Karma (a.k.a. God Almighty) is looking in the Book of Life and your name isn’t there. The Judgment Day has come!

Apocalypse?

Words by themselves have no life except that which we invest in them. They pass down the centuries, taking on new psychological charges like stories whispered down a queue. The Greeks never intended this world to be a noun of doom. Apocalypse literally means “to uncover” or “to expose” the truth. There is an naked truth here, hiding beneath the changing fashions of syntax. However, the price of truth revealed may be a degree of change one is not ready to risk. Why else, then, do we react with such hopelessness and fear to a word that signifies the real hiding behind the false? Can we see only catastrophe in the revelation of truth?

…The taste and smell of fear experienced around the phenomenon of apocalypse originated with St. John of Patmos. In his essay, Apocalypse , D.H. Lawrence attributes to the Bible’s final prophet a “second-rate mind” that dirtied the meaning of apocalypse enough to make it the war cry for overzealous members of Christ’s flock. These hysterics forgive poor sinners today, secretly hoping they’ll get their own in spades on Judgment Day.

Despite St. John’s fear-mongering, he might be right in another sense. Perhaps there is a real catastrophe waiting for those unprepared to understand this word’s essential meaning. No one likes it when reality overturns one’s cup of dreams. No one can honestly say they’d gladly flash a revelatory torch inside the dark closet of their unconscious: before revelation’s light can dispel the darkness of unwanted fear and evil, it must first reveal the illusory stuff our dreams are made of.

The first time I had the pleasure of experiencing a performance of Ian McKellen in a role was back in the 1981 biographical film as D.H. Lawrence (1885-1930) entitled Priest of Love after one of the English writer's finest poems. I highly recommend viewing this movie, as it appears at last to be on DVD and Blue Ray. Here is a line from the poem, "I shall always be a priest of love and a glad one. Once you've known what love can do, there's no disappointment and no despair."

Perhaps the greatest dream is believing we are securely in control of our lives. And perhaps the revelation we fear most is discovering that security is a fairy tale.

St. John’s Sunday school nightmares aside, you don’t need to consult the [doomsday prophecy segment of this book] to get my future drift. The Judgment Day doesn’t need a God/Father figure or one more prophetic interpreter’s projection. It only needs a few too many CFCs leaking from the air conditioner, or just enough people to stand by and believe reductions of nuclear overkill can be called nuclear disarmament.

Judgment Day can be a secular phenomenon. It comes with just the right critical mass of denial to assure disasters have their day, whether God, the promise of heaven, or the nightmare of hell exist or not.

There is a prophetic train of thought that says we can’t get to the future from a present ruled by the motivation of the past ten thousand years. The next great age will only come for those who are ready to change, to drop those traditions of the dying Adamic Age which no longer work to keep the human race growing in consciousness. Tomorrow of Blessings — the second half of this book — takes a look at the minority future view. These prophecies indicate that in the eleventh hour an Apocalypse of Consciousness will preclude a global death.

Sooner or later, the mainstream news and the muddled mainstream minded masses will have to understand the deeper significance of our Apocalyptic times as a choice. Either between fulfilling a future of stupid, by habitually following the wrong understanding of Apocalypse; or, living and doing today what must be prepared and seeded to give birth to a future of revelation and enlightenment for the entire human race.

First, some predictions about current events crowding the quickening train of our times.

CNN reports something I have been writing about since the early 1990s (click on millennium prophecies). The mainstream belatedly catches on because even the corporate controlled news cannot keep a lid on this reality any longer. This is not the first time a team of globally respected scientists have informed news agencies that your record winter storms and blizzards are a direct result of global warming pumping the atmosphere with the “gas” to fuel more powerful storms: moisture. CNN’s anchors may still carefully parse their words to fit corporate editorial limitations. For instance, calling global warming “climate change.” We do not want to talk about a warming climate change because that will upset our fossil fuel advertisers.

Climate change to what, then?

Here is the basic scientific fact: ONLY a warming climate can contain more moisture. Colder climates create dry atmospheres. The onset of an Ice Age would weaken storm activity, not feed it fuel. That is not to say that global warming may trigger an ice age. But let us stay on storm track here: a more humid global atmosphere makes storms that are more powerful. It is not just a nebulous “change”. Those clouds are floating in globally warming air. But as long as the corporate leash is on editorially tight, you will not hear the mainstream news anchors call the blizzards of this winter a symptom of global warming.

What you will hear is today’s CNN report saying that scientists warn “climate change” injecting more moisture in the atmosphere would be responsible for the violent winter weather rapidly becoming violent and early spring storms. They will not tell you the “why”, just that the climate changed.

Wild weather of winter dramatically shifting to wild spring storms is something I detailed last year when writing Predictions for 2011. Brace for record snowmelt floods in the US as globally “warmed” subtropical moisture begins to push and shove into arctic air over America’s Tornado Alley this March and then will come the hurricanes. Early — the first tropical storms in May.

Now to Libya…

In my first article about Qaddafi’s future at the onset of the uprising (click on Libyan), I said the following, posted on 22 February: “What happens in Libya will be similar but I fear it will take longer and be a far more bloody civil war. Unlike Romania’s civil war, Libya is among the most deeply entrenched tribal societies in the Arab world. This civil war will be won or lost by who can manage the complex alliances and promise patronage to key Libyan tribes…

“Gaddafi will try to take [the eastern Libyan oil fields] back, promise reward of the rich oil industry to those western tribes and sub-tribes leaders who support the crackdown.

“People inside Libya phone the outside world about Gaddafi’s acts of genocide. Believe it. This civil war could descend into a battle between Libya’s tribes to control oil resources.

“At the time of this writing (22 February 2011), Gaddafi and his tribal allies in the secret police and armed forces are ruthlessly liquidating rebels in Tripoli while air strikes on Benghazi continue.

“I predict Gaddafi intends to launch his heavily armored forces against Benghazi, the heart of the revolution.”

As predicted, his forces are gathering for a push on the rebellious eastern provinces. Once again we have another spirited and sincere revolution of the masses in an Arab country that inspires so many of us to hope that democracy can spread in North Africa and the Middle East. However, I have an ongoing concern. Like Tunisia where this Jasmine Revolution wave began, spreading to Egypt and like Egypt and all the other erupting demonstrations in Yemen, Jordan, Oman, Bahrain, Iraq and Syria: the revolutions are leaderless and remain amorphous mobs. They have a heart, but are so far running about headless.

Gaddafi is “daffy” but not dumb.

Gaddafi had planned for an eventual civil war by denying the Libyan military units in the east proper training and military equipment. He had expected the defections from those natives of the east in his military industrial complex. I sense that the early chaos has settled and Gaddafi has stabilized his command structure. The air force is once again bombing the rebels because those pilots who have refused to fight have either escaped to the East or been shot and replaced by Algerian and other mercenary pilots.

I said it at the beginning of the Libyan Revolution and I say it again, as a compassionate warning to the revolutionaries in the eastern coastal cities of Libya, such as Benghazi: Gaddafi will launch an offensive on you. It will happen this month, and you people of Benghazi will need to get yourself organized or by April, you will have Gaddafi’s tanks shooting you point blank in your streets. You will have your beach side demonstrations strafed by Gaddafi’s Tripolean and Algerian pilots in jets and attack helicopters.

Listen well; there will be no “No Fly Zone” organized by the US Navy or the NATO air forces flying across the Mediterranean from Italy. That simply will not happen as long as you continue to be a leaderless circus in the streets, playing with your rusting, second hand tanks, and shooting off into the air magazine after wasted magazine of your secondhand anti-aircraft guns for the entertainment of brave Ben Wederman’s CNN cameras.

You need to organize.

Undisciplined revolutions of leaderless masses never succeed. And many an organized revolution can also succumb to a tyrannical state, initially caught off guard, but soon finding its savage footing and take aim, putting fire and chemical weapons on the cities and towns of rebels.

Let us change definitions of prophecy from predicting and forecasting to its deeper definition: divine inspiration.

Today I wish to answer one of these readers who yesterday posted the following email. My reply is inserted in it. I wanted to share with the community at large this interchange, because many of you share these views.

I’d like to start by saying that I’ve been on your mailing list for over three years, and I’ve bought a few of your wonderful e-books. I know at times it must feel disheartening when it’s such a challenge to keep a venture like Hogue Prophecy going, but we need you :^)

Thank you for your kind words, Rachel. Thanks also for purchasing my books in the past, you have helped my work continue. (I like your pointy nosed smiley face.)

RACHEL
John, I’m a writer, and a student of epistemology and metaphysics, and I’m quite impressed with the tone of your most recent newsletters.

HOGUE
Thank you. That is nice to hear coming from a fellow writer. The last few blogs have been difficult children to rear for posting. Problem children can turn out to be great pieces, I suppose. I am at least glad that the last several have been well received.

RACHEL
In your opinion, how close do you think we really are to reaching a critical mass of collective consciousness to wake up from this dream of physical being?

HOGUE
It is a good and sincere question but perhaps it is the wrong question to ask, because it makes one think of consciousness as a collective phenomenon rather than an individual phenomenon.

It is better to ask how close you are to a critical mass of understanding by venturing inward inside your “self.”

It may sound strange, but the best thing you could do for the collective lifting of consciousness is to let all attention directed towards the collective go. Try an experiment. Gather your full awareness moment to moment on your own transformation. That should not be construed to mean you stop whatever work you are doing to better the world.

What if nothing needs to be forced to change, because this enforcer is the very thing in the way?

I am simply suggesting that you “add” something to each and every moment, each and every action or inaction. I am suggesting that awareness be nourished and added to your life. The meditations Osho taught me are not escapist. They are “engage-ist”. They are for life, not an escape from life.

RACHEL
I know a lot of people would love to find enlightenment; I know I sure would. But really, I think the most important ‘historic’ point will be that point where enough individuals begin to break their slumber, to induce a cascade effect in the rest of humanity.

HOGUE
That is how the mind reasons us away from making a critical mass of enlightenment happen. Can you see it in your mind’s words here?

You would like enlightenment. Everyone would like it… but… it is more important to think about the abstract possibilities of a critical mass of enlightenment happening…etc. In other words, let us sit back and catch the wave of changing consciousness, not “be” the wave.

See how the mind has taken you away from the only place such a critical mass consciousness is born?

The mind takes us constantly away from our center because that is how it has been conditioned in us from birth onwards.

This ensures that you will always be chasing things that are abstracts and not bringing your energy here and now to this moment, this body, this living, present evernow.

The predictable future is made of mind. What if the being never had a past or a future? What if being was about being eternally present?

Try bringing an awareness into your life that unlocks this eternity, while daily life with its changes and movement spins around and around like a storm circling but never disturbing this eye of the life storm: the witnessing consciousness.

Whether the rest of the world achieves a critical mass of enlightenment or not is a distraction, really — a distraction of the mind to keep you from reaching your critical mass of enlightenment right here, right now.

If enough individuals understand this, then the collective will change. But it will only change when enough individuals drop their minds’ infatuation with the abstract of a critical collective mass consciousness change.

Perhaps consciousness is like love.

When you intensely seek love, it never comes.

When you let go and just be, Love comes dancing in.

Mass consciousness changing?

The masses never become conscious. Only individuals.

In your next passage, Rachel, there is another example of how the mind in us can sound like it almost knows what it is talking about. (Please do not take that personally. Everybody’s mind does this.)

Perhaps a mind can take things personally because it is the ruler of personality. The word “personality” comes from persona — Latin for “mask”. Only the false mind programs in us pretending to be real can take things personally.

So, with that in mind – or better with that IN of meditation, watching mind, let us look again at these words:

RACHEL
Yes, the world is in trouble because of resource over-consumption, but this is really just a part of the dream (drama?) of physical reality. For individual souls, and for the collective consciousness we are all holographic fragments of, this so-called physical reality we’ve constructed is, in spiritual reality, completely mutable. There isn’t anything we can’t change, and in a heart-beat.

HOGUE
These are all unsubstantiated, spiritual platitudes. They may have a fresher, new age “mask” or “label” but these are the kind of “labeled” opiates religions old and new have been pushing on us to pop like bromides since humanity’s quest for enlightenment began.

I am not saying your words are not true. The best drugs ape truth. Look at the people who thought dropping LSD gave them enlightenment. All drugs get us addicted to the experience at the cost of forgetting the “experiencer”.

So, let us be clear. I am not saying that anything you listed above is untrue. It is a pretty picture, like a beautiful picture of a sumptuous feast. Has anyone been nourished by eating pictures of food?

RACHEL
I ask myself on a regular basis when we might start seeing the first signs of a collective ‘waking-up’.

HOGUE
I predict that the people who are looking for signs will never see this collective ‘wake up’ happen, now or any moment in the next thousand years from “now”, because it is not a collective phenomenon that ever strays like a herd of sheep, from “now.”

RACHEL
I know that we still have many hundreds of years before we grow beyond physical living…

HOGUE
We assume that we “know” — that is why it takes hundreds and thousands of years. Because we are programmed by society’s mind to think we know — to think that it will take hundreds of years before it happens. The mind programs us to postpone, to wander away from this moment — perhaps the only place outside of time when waking-up can happen.

It never happened before because I no longer live in the before. It never happens later because I do not live in later. I am not living 100 years or 1,000 years from now.

It does not happen when enough people attain a critical mass of enlightenment because they are all waiting for somebody else to start that mass consciousness rolling.

Can it happen at all unless it happens to you right here, right now?

RACHEL
…but at some point we must wake enough to at least be able to choose between focusing in the physical, or in whatever higher state of being we’re in when we’re more ‘awake’.

HOGUE
That is the mind making another bromide for the sleeping soul to drink away its divine indigestion with a lovely idea, a sweet thought — sweet dreams.

RACHEL
What are your thoughts? Ha, ha, when, John, when? ;^)

HOGUE
I have given thoughts, but do not take up and pop these thoughts as another bromide pill. Take them as a hypothesis. A challenge. I wish to give the mind indigestion because the mind cannot digest what I have indicated in these words.

Now, what if you all have a destiny with eternity that is ever yours, eternally waiting, in the unguarded instant of the next moment?

What if the advent of your critical mass of enlightenment is ever close — ever now?

Explore it. Relax into it.

It’s Super “Bowel” Sunday. Let’s take a prophetic holiday. Egypt at the moment of this writing is on hold and some positive signs are emerging that some democratic solution “may” be found. Australia for the moment is drying out from a huge cyclone. And the seventh winter superstorm rolling over the eastern half of the USA since Christmas is a few days away. I’ll have a lot more to share about all the future possibilities of these — the Blue Kachina Star prophecy — and other pressing themes after the Green Bay Packers defeat the Pittsburgh Steelers. (Don’t worry Pittsburgh. My sports forecasts are terribly inaccurate. Except maybe this time.)

Now for some close encounters of a Nostradamian kind. There may be dozens of prophecies that sound bizarre far beyond the usual weirdness of Nostradamus’ words in cryptic verse. They tell of demons, dog faced men and monstrous angels that may not be what they traditionally seem. The demons may not be devils but outworlders. The dog-faced men are not macabre demi-dogs-cum-gods but estrangers, foreigners, strangers from lands beyond earth. Monstre in old French means “divine omen” not only “monster”. A message from the stars, perhaps, in guise of sky men?

Read a verse to present perchance a stranger from another world, Century 3 Quatrain 21 states:

Au Crustamin par mer Hadriatique,
Apparoistra vn horrible poisson:
De face humaine & la fin aquatique,
Qui se prendra dehors de l’ameçon.

In the Conca by the Adriatic Sea,
There will appear a horrible fish:
With a face (that is) human and its end aquatic,
Which will be taken without the hook.

The Conca River drains into the Adriatic ten miles south of Rimini. The horrible fish may be a submarine or any number of modern, or perhaps future missiles with fins (its end aquatic). The face of this “thing” is described here as human, benevolent, or humanlike. Garencières, a 17th-century Nostradamus interpreter of repute, lived long before the industrial age, or UFO fixations. He thus thought the human fish must be a mermaid. In our age we might project (correctly or not) a technological image of a machine, as I have done. Or we might apply Nostradamus’ image to some amphibian extraterrestrial making contact. A third possibility would create a distant future when humankind uses genetic engineering to branch out into different species. Some of those could be aquatic humans. Finally, this may be something more down-to-earth and closer to our times. How would you, as a 16th-century man, describe someone in a facemask, scuba gear, and flippers, coming out of the Adriatic after some deep-sea diving?

Talia has informed me of NASA’s report of a flock of falling objects of a non-feathered, cosmic kind that might forebode something more significant to all of our lives on earth than a bunch of pancaked black birds on an Arkansan’s driveway flying aflockalyptically amok from New Years fireworks. NASA reports that the year 2010 ended with an unprecedented flurry of small comets diving into the Sun. Researchers say this could herald a much larger comet still to come.

If a big comet is coming this year or especially in 2012, during the Mayan Calendar 5000-year reboot of history, it would certainly have some significance. Not only for the Mayan cycle but also for Nostradamus’ prophecies about a great comet passing during the times of what he calls the Third and Final Antichrist, Code Named MABUS.

If it is a blue comet of great intensity, this might also allude to the final warming of the Hopi Indians as a portent to the coming destruction and rebirth of the world as we know it in what they call the Prophecy of the Blue Kachina. (This is the subject of my History Channel interview on the next episode of Brad Melzer’s DECODED, which airs on 20 January 2011.)

If this is the great Mabus Comet that “passes through the sky” as a portent that we are living in the times of the Antichrist; or, if it signals the great purification of the world of the Hopi, the following prophecy of Nostradamus may describe where and what could happen if such a comet strayed too close to Earth.

In a previous blog from last year (see Nostradamus) he described fish “boiled hectic” in a prophecy about falling animal portents. Nostradamus plays with his fish visions again in Century 2, Quatrain 3.

As the song goes, “Here comes the Sun” half frying the fry and adult flappers too, before they fall out of the sky on the Greek Island of Rhodes and a thousand miles northwest over the Italian port city of Genoa to feed the famished poisson-pounded people there.

What sent these sunburned fish flying far afield? Something that could make a big splash in the Aegean Sea just off the coast of the long and sinewy Greek Island Evvoea high enough for half-burnt barracudas to catch the bass end of a Rapture ride up in the clouds to fall like rain all the way to Genoa.

Pour la chaleur solaire sus la mer,
De Negrepont les poissons demi cuits:
Les habitans les viendront entamer,
Quand Rhod, & Gennes leur faudra le biscuit.

Because of heat like that of the sun upon the sea,
Around Evvoea the fish will become half cooked:
The inhabitants will come to make the first slice into them,
When (in) Rhodes, and Genoa their (food) will fail.

In 1995 I chronicled this interpretation for Nostradamus: The Complete Prophecies published in 1997:

Sunrise in the afternoon. That is what the citizens of Athens in the next millennium might have described what happened if they had lived. At three o’clock the eastern horizon glowed brighter than daylight, flash-burning the retinas of dwellers along the Aegean coast. Minutes later, Athenian eardrums would be perforated by an explosion as loud as 2,000 one-megaton hydrogen bombs. Next, the deafened citizens of Athens would behold a new mountain range rising into the sky and falling as seawater over the eastern hills.

The day the asteroid fell, the ocean drowned Athens from the sky!

If an asteroid spears the Aegean the waters off Evvoea would flash-boil all marine life, sending a plume of steam higher than Earth’s mountains because of the…sun upon the sea. The resulting cloud of dust could block out the sun’s rays for many months, or a few years, causing global crop failures and a catastrophic famine that could kill billions (their [food] will fail).

Now hold on, all you twenty-twelve midnight-for-the-human racers. Do not think I am going nebulously Nibiru on you, pulling a rogue planet fast one to tilt the earth’s axis in 2012. And please do not free associate beyond the vague linguistics of Nostradamian verse tying one fantasy to another pulling a Vincent Bridges, spanning all and everything misty Nostradamus says to the year 2012, just over time’s horizon. There is no dating hidden or blaring obvious in the quatrain, above. There is, however in another quatrain (10 Q67), a rare astrological dating for a great earthquake in some future May where hail the size of eggs falls from the sky. It alludes to them literally being stones of rock rather than chicken squat. That is something one might see if there is a comet strike in the Aegean and future from now.

If there is a big comet coming in 2012, this ain’t it.

Wöllner pinpoints this event for the far off year of 3755 A.D. Chicken egg-sized stone showers, mixed with scorched piscatorial portents, might be expected from a cosmic asteroid crackup in the Aegean Sea, so, if there is a connection, we have 1,743 years to prepare for the rock of ages to hammer fall, catapulting piscine doom on the Mediterranean world. Then again, May 2047 gets four out of five planets listed in 10 Q67 in right places, except Mars: Saturn is in Capricorn, when Jupiter and Mercury are in Taurus and Venus is in Cancer. Mars, however, will not be in Virgo in May 2047 but slipping out of Taurus into Gemini. This is close enough for serious consideration as a window for a great quake at that time. We can be thankful there is no clear connection with burnt fish-falls out of the skies from an Aegean Sea asteroid or Blue Kachina comet strike.

The new year came in with a firework “bang” in Beebe Arkansas with a whole lot of red wing blackbirds startled out of their slumbers by loud reports of fireworks sending these daylight fliers into a flocking panic in the dark, crashing into trees, power lines and houses. By morning, 3,000 dead and bleeding black birds with their scarlet and gold epauletted wings could be found thickly strewn across the town in a plumed-feathered version of a Napoleonic battlefield. The hungry media news, ever agitated by its ratings tapeworm to prey and feast on new stories, sound “byte”-bought into the “freak” of the bird deaths first, then asked adult questions later.

More stories came in of mass bird-battered deaths: 450 red-winged blackbirds, cowbirds, grackles and starlings littering a highway in Baton Rouge, Louisiana; coots by the dozen found dead on a Texas highway bridge. Fifty jackdaws dead in Falkoping, Sweden. Then 8,000 turtledoves come raindrop dead out of the skies in Italy, their beaks turned blue with either hypoxia or poisoning.

The conspiracy cults started HAARP-ing about this or that unsubstantiated piss in the wind about why all these mass bird deaths should come in the last few weeks. It must be a secret government weapon scrambling the bird’s beaked electromagnetic sensors used to navigate sun and stars during migration. Alex Jones flummoxes about red-winged blackbirds’ insides being turned to goo.

I began receiving a lot of letters from my readers asking what my take was on all of this. I examine strange phenomena patiently and objectively before I answer. As much as I have worked over the years in the paranormal and uncovered a lot of strange stuff going on, most paranormal mysteries have a “normal” solution, if one applies a cool and calmly meditative approach in examining the evidence, rather than going “goo goo” conspiratorial.

The magnetic pole is shifting down into Russia about 25 miles a year and scientists are indeed voicing concern that such a gradually steady shift is disrupting the inbuilt navigational instincts of migratory birds, causing them to miscalculate when its time to fly south for the winter, etc. Once the media stopped ruffling feathers with sensational stories and theories and actually started piecing together the evidence and eye witness accounts it was found that most of these bird deaths in Arkansas, Louisiana, Sweden and Texas were not a “sign” or a divine “portent” of the coming apocalypse. They were victims of the kind of a-flock-calypse inflicted by the violent hand of man holding firework rockets, launching a blast into the sky on New Years.

If coots roost under a bridge in Texas and get hit by trucks and cars, it is because humans have forced them to make wrong rookery choices because man destroys their natural habitats.

The hypoxia that suffocated the turtledoves in Italy was most likely caused by violent and very cold, upper atmosphere winds carrying the birds in updrafts into high altitudes. As many of you are directly experiencing your own episodes of wild weather, huddled recently in snowed-in American, European and Russian airports, or paddling your boat down flooded streets in Queensland, Australia — or you are shoveling mudslides out of your Californian homes and businesses, — there is a lot of violent weather rocking and rolling this earth and it is killing animals as much as it can kill people in freaky ways.

I point out in my final chapter of Predictions for 2011 entitled “Alarm Bells Sound the Unsustainable”, Mother Nature is sick. We have made her ill with our abuse of her climate, her lands, rivers, lakes and oceans. It is not surprising to me that the prophecies logged by prophets for millennia (listed in the book) about a time when the world’s oceans would rise and its skies would burn with great droughts and super-storms sound like today’s news reports.

The same goes for predictions logged about mass animal deaths. These are not divine portents, these are signs of our stupidity coming home to roost or fall out of the sky dead by our poisoning and disruption of the only and fragile ecosystem we know exists to support our existence. Our only home in the universe.

So, it does not surprise me that news stories slop birds dying by the thousands with slimy spots about devil crabs washed up dead along the Kent coast near Thanet, UK. Or, that we now hear about thousands of drum fish heaped and stinking along a 20-mile stretch of the Arkansas River; or that there are fish piled high on the beaches of Florida or that two million adolescent fish bloat belly up to scum Chesapeake Bay, Maryland.

We have set in motion a man-made mass extinction that in a century’s time could kill off as much life on this planet as the meteor strike that obliterated the dinosaurs 65 million years ago. These die offs of fish, these freak bird deaths, are alarms sounding the unsustainable habits of humanity. The time for changing course is running short.

The whims of ratings call up clusters of reports by the news media that can stack up and serialize events out of proportion. Have you ever noticed that one abducted child story, if it goes national, begets a whole bunch of lost child “amber altered” stories for about five days to a week? You would think there was a sudden rash of kidnappings when actually kidnappings are happening at a steady frequency all around the world. It only looks like a sudden flap of kidnappings because the media is exploiting it until they get distracted by another news cycle. So it is with the dead birds and fish stories.

Weird animal mass deaths, or those apocalyptic, vivid stories of frogs and fishes raining on desert towns, right out of Peter Weir’s movie, The Last Wave, conjure up bouts of doomsday proselytizing. Indeed, prophets like Nostradamus often foretold oncoming disaster for humanity with visions of spectral atmospheric phenomena, and downpours of animals out of the sky.

The last time the media around the world fixated on animals falling dead out of the sky was back in March 2010. It inspired the following blog entry, which I now pull from my stock blog file for reading today:

Nostradamus, it’s Raining Animals

My fellow human sheeple, stop “doctoring” the climate and stop the “do little”-to-no squat to lower your flatulent winds of greenhouse gases heating up the world. Stop it now, or prepare for more “Alfred Hitchcock meets Doctor Doolittle” talk-to-the-animal falling-out-of-the-sky moments. Anticipate omens on your own driveway, like starlings seeing stars on the tarmac of Coxley, England, after a whole flock in early March 2010 inexplicably did the Stuka plunge with dive breaks broken. Your roof and backyard may play net to a similar heavenly animal portent we examine today when fish fell out of burning blue skies onto the sunburned sands of the Australian Outback.

Prophets in ancient times used to tell a “tail” about tomorrow you could carp about. The divining art of Ichthyomancy studied the fishermen’s catch offered up for sacrifice. When Ichthyomancy converges like a thundercloud with Meteormancy you can try to augur what in scaly blazes was God’s message from the sky in river fish out of water falling on your head in the Aboriginal bush.

My blog fans alerted me to an Australian big-fish-that-got-away-from-the-sky story originally posted on 28 February and updated here from the Daily Mail UK:

Residents of a small outback-Australian town have been left speechless after fish began falling from the sky. Hundreds of spangled perch bombarded the 650 residents of Lajamanu, shocking local Christine Balmer, who was walking home when the strange ‘weather’ started.

She said: ‘These fish fell in their hundreds and hundreds all over the place. The locals were running around everywhere picking them up. The fish were all alive when they hit the ground so they would have been alive when they were up there flying around the sky.

‘When I told my family, who live in another part of Australia, about the fish falling from the sky, they thought I’d lost the plot.

‘But no, I haven’t lost my marbles. All I can say is that I’m thankful that it didn’t rain crocodiles!’

… Lajamanu is located halfway between Darwin and Alice Springs, on the edge of the Tanami Desert…

Hello all, concerning those animals coming down “out of the sky”: it is not the first time I heard stories of that kind. The explanation given (some 20 to 30 years ago) was that these animals got trapped in a kind of weather phenomenon and “transported” and “released” sometimes thousands of kilometers away. That for this phenomenon…what’s true… I don’t know.

Meteorologists say the incident was probably caused by a tornado. It is common for tornados to suck up water and fish from rivers and drop them hundreds of miles away. Mark Kersemakers from the Australian Bureau of Meteorology said: ‘Once they get up into the weather system, they are pretty much frozen and, after some time, they are released.’

Nostradamus used weird fish stories as portents, one of which (Century 5 Quatrain 98) may have dated the last hothouse spike in our ascending global temperature.

A quarante huict degré climaterique,
A fin de Cancer si grande seicheresse:
Poisson en mer, fleuue, lac cuit hectique,
Bearn, Bigorre par feu ciel en destresse.

At a latitude of the forty-eight degrees
At the end of Cancer so great (is the) drought.

Bearn, Bigorre (Southwest France) in distress from fire in the sky.

The sun ends its transit of Cancer every year around 22 July. At the height of some future summer, Nostradamus’ eye into tomorrow affixes itself to portents of hot and bothered fish along the Atlantic coast in the extreme southwest corner of France.

Nostradamus perhaps more than any other prophet was obsessed with maps and geography. No prophet describes in more detail the locations of his future dramas. Nostradamus did not mention the creation of vertical lines or longitudes — unless I have overlooked the prophecy. Galileo proposed them in 1612. The British Board of Longitudes established in 1714 sought to pay any bright eyed and astrolabe-able inventor to hatch a longitudinal system. Finally, John Harrison’s work on chronometers in 1773 made longitude plotting possible at sea. Nostradamus’ storehouse of maps in his secret study sans-longitude often navigate the seer to the locale of his vision using inaccurate horizontal latitude lines drawn on 16th-century maps.

If he meant to plot this portent on a future drought along the beaches of Biarritz in Bearn, he was off by 4.5 degrees. Bearn is a located at latitude 43.5. However, if you draw a line across the Northern Hemisphere along latitude 48 you burn a path of a drought blazing sun across all the world’s most fruitful grain belts. The prophecy is not only about Biarritz but warns of a future we must avoid when amber oceans of wheat stretching across North America, Europe and Russia revert to prairies and inhospitable steppes in the first half of this new century while fish are hopping mad off Biarritz over warming ocean habitat.

(INSERTED UPDATE as of 01/08/11: Russia in July and August of 2010 suffered 500 fires across its grain belts. This greatest drought in Russian recorded history helped destroy one-fifth of the Russian wheat crop. So great was the devastation that Prime Minister Vladimir Putin ordered the cessation of wheat exports. Russia is the third largest exporter of grains in the world. Do you see your food prices soaring? This again is an alarm bell sounding the unsustainable as I elaborate further in the following free sample chapter from Predictions for 2011.)

Sometimes the indexing of Nostradamus’ prophecies appears to match significant months and years as if they are hinting a date. For instance, I have often given the example of Century 5, Quatrain 45 speaking of a great empire falling: pres d’arduenne silue — or, through the Ardennes forest. This not only covers the French colonial empire’s collapse when Nazi Germany invaded France in 1940 through a surprise panzer attack out of that very same forest in Luxembourg, but 4.5 years later another Empire fell, through the Ardennes forest: the Third Reich. Adolf Hitler squandered Germany’s last strategic reserves trying an end run a second time though the Luxembourg forests in the Battle of the Bulge. 5 Q45 stands for May 1945. We celebrate VE (Victory in Europe) Day on the fifth month of the year (19)45 because it marked the downfall and total destruction of Hitler’s empire.

Fifty-three quatrains later in Century 5 we have quatrain 98. In 2001, a United Nations commission on climate change declared that the 1990s were the hottest years on record in the last millennium. The Science Times reported that temperatures in 1998 shattered global temperature records. The spike in 1998 began the even hotter-per-anum rise in global temperatures that even the blizzards of 2010 will not modify. (See more predictions for 2011)

Back in 1997 for Nostradamus: the Complete Prophecies, I recorded the following comment:

“Q98 = 1998? In my last Nostradamus book (Nostradamus: The New Revelations, 1994), I correctly interpreted the increase in global warming after the mid-1990s when the dust from the eruption of [the Philippine volcano] Mt. Pinatubo that slightly cooled the world had cleared the skies. With this interpretation in mind we can expect a wave of global droughts and heat waves by July [the end of Cancer] 1998. From that time onward global warming steadily kicks in, disrupting weather patterns and the climate conditions needed to grow grain, start to shift hundreds of miles north of where they are now.”

No matter how good an interpretation sounds, one should not shut one’s insight eye to other possibilities. The riddle of fish boiled hectic could allude to another quatrain that may describe a cosmic disaster in our future. We are just a little more than a week into 2011 and my new e-Book Predictions for 2011 has already scored a number of accurate prophecies. PSS–The mass shooting in Tucson, Arizona yesterday, critically wounding US Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords along with 19 others including six fatalities presents a dire development in the political climate of the United States. One might hope that such a shocking event will temper the extremist rhetoric from the political left and right fringes and see a more moderate discourse in 2011; however, astrological configurations coming in the spring of this year indicate that Congress will fall sway to violent words and partisanship once again. Windows of Opportunity in 2011:

In 2011, economic recovery is announced to white wash the systemic flaws in the banking and financial system. The US government becomes more dysfunctional. The US Federal Reserve will try to print money by the “trillion” (not $600 billion as projected) to throw at the oncoming deflation crisis. Watch also for banking collapses and a crashing Euro in Europe. Time runs out in 2011 to fix these and other financial defects of Wall Street and Main Street before the world is soon filled with the angry rioters of “mean” streets.

And yet. . .

A global system of technology is spreading prosperity to countries once called part of the poor, politically unstable Third World. Peace is coming sooner than seems imaginable. Will American citizens push back? Revolution in America was born in the last Pluto-Capricorn transit. The cycle of revolution rises again!
• 2011 is the year threatening a military crisis caused by the collapse of two failed states possessing nuclear weapons. Yet, the first salvos are not from the crack of guns but the pang of hunger in North Korea. The second crisis strikes home not from the thunder of combat jets but the thunder of monsoons across Pakistan and South Asia.

“Year Two” of Nature’s World War on Humanity starts Tomorrow

It’s just been a week since I posted the first and shorter version of this blog on 26 December. Look at what’s happening with the climate! From the ice storms and record blizzards paralyzing Europe and Russia, burying New York City in record snowfall, see the tropical cyclones of the Southern Hemispheric summer turn the 500-year drought in Australia to a 500-year flood in Queensland overnight!

It’s not nice to fool with Mother Nature. It’s stupid. Now she’s on a rampage responding to our abuse of the planet. I write this expanded edition of the blog introducing my new e-Book Predictions for 2011 on the last day of the year 2010 — a year already going down in history as the hottest on record and one of the most violent years on record for weird and catastrophic weather. My oracle has painted a picture of the coming new year. If you think 2010 was bad, brace yourself for 2011!

Already we are seeing the weather intensify as you in Europe — and especially those of you living on or near the Atlantic coastline are experiencing this first day after Christmas. A historic blizzard paralyzing New York City, Philadelphia, the states of New York, New Jersey, North Carolina and most of New England with a super-charged winter storm that has a low pressure gradient as low as a category 1 hurricane! It reminds me of this prediction from the new book:

In 2011, we enter year two of World War Three, Mother Nature’s war on us. This isn’t some pagan voodoo threat. The natural world is ill. It’s fighting back madder than ever in 2011. Her fever chills will bury us in blizzards this winter, her fevers will then suddenly rise hotter this coming spring and summer, her rages will redouble from what was seen in 2010.

Friends

Giving birth to this book is the main reason why you have not seen a blog in seven days. I was glad to receive many letters this week coming from those of you who have browsed through my many posted articles, especially a wave of readers chiming in from India. I am happy to hear from my South Asian readers and hope to get more letters from you and comments. My Indian browsers make up one third of my readership. Because of this, Predictions for 2011, will comment extensively on India’s future, as 2011 is the great “coming out” year for India as a world power.

I raise my eyes up from my labors and look over my shoulder at two developing current events with some concern. It would seem that the new START (Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty) is stuck in the muddy minds of bureaucratic resistance. I cannot tell you (though if you read me over the years you know) how important it is for our continued existence that we see nourished a US-Russian friendship and nuclear disarmament.

Ever since I gathered the collective prophecies of many traditions in The Millennium Book of Prophecy and 1000 for 2000: Startling Predictions, a recurrent theme has a Third World War coming “after” the Cold War is over, not before. It comes all of a sudden at a time when no one expected it; either three years and seven months or 13 years after Russia and America break off being friends over a Middle Eastern crisis (such as Iran). Signing the START treaty is an important step towards taking the whole world off that future apocalyptic track.

There are forces in Washington DC working to delay its ratification for the sake of sustaining the Military Industrial Complex. I have written at length about this issue in Predictions for 2011 coming out next week.

The other developing story causing me some prescient concern is an oncoming military crisis between North and South Korea. I have written a lot about it in Predictions for 2011 and on a level of one to ten, I feel a level “four” concern that between now and Tuesday there might be a further escalation leading to military conflict. I suppose we can take some solace in my “oracle” not putting the prescient alarm level at five or higher, yet I am a little concerned. I will keep you all posted on both of these issues when I can send my next blog.

Speaking of blogs…

As the Monty Pythons would say, “And now for something completely different: a Nostradamus from ancient Indonesia.”

The 12th-century Indonesian king Djojobojo (also known as Jayabhaya of Java) had a vision of the coming of a great “Spiritual King” or Ratu Adil (Just Ruler) from the West in the prophecy called Jangka Jayabhaya. This would take place after three milestones are fulfilled in the history of the Indonesian people.

First, “white-skinned, blue-eyed, and fair-haired men from the northwest” would invade Indonesia.

It must be remembered that Caucasian explorers had perhaps never explored Indonesia when this prophecy was made. Marco Polo, the trader and explorer venturing east upon the continental trade routes of the Silk Road to China from the Republic of Venice came through a century after Djojobojo’s vision. Yet, the East Javan Hindu ruler augured a multitude of white skinned blue-eyed men coming to rule with an “iron hand for 350 years.”

It happened five centuries later when the fair haired, blue-eyed Dutch did conquer Indonesia invading from the Northwest. They ruled for 322 years, from 1610 to 1942.

Next Djojobojo presaged these white men overcome by new invaders he called little “slant-eyed, yellow dwarflike men.” These would sail down to occupy Indonesia from the Northeast.

In early 1942, naval and army forces of the Empire of Japan invaded the Indonesian archipelago exactly from the direction foreseen 800 years before, in an armada coming out of the northeast depositing an occupying army that overwhelmed the sparse Dutch forces guarding the Dutch East Indies.

Djojobojo then said these little yellow men would only rule for a short time: “one planting of corn.” This seems to refer to the relatively brief three-year occupation of the Japanese, though time is cut short in prophetic hyperbole.

Finally, Djojobojo promised the people of Indonesia would unite under the wise governance of a messianic king or just ruler, but freedom and spiritual renewal would not appear in Indonesia until the tyranny of two Indonesian tyrants foreseen had ended. These appear to be Sukarno and Suharto; the former was overthrown in 1967, the succeeding dictator, Suharto, stepped down in 1998 after popular pressure aimed to expand democratic powers to the people over his dictatorship after an economic crisis.

The downfall of the last dictator would usher in a time of “bloodshed and troubles.” This could describe the Indonesian economic crash, the ecological disasters and social unrest plaguing Indonesia in the late 1990s. It could also presage the rise of Islamic fundamentalist terror in the 2000s including secessionist warfare and the catastrophic loss of life along the coast of Sumatra from the great Indian Ocean quake and tsunami on the day after Christmas in 2004 that claimed upwards of 150 to 200,000 Indonesian lives.

Djojobojo promised these crises would be short-lived. Before long, news will be received of a “Spiritual King” from the West who will come to “unite all the world’s religions” as well as its races and cultures in a “thousand-year era of peace.”

Who was the first prophet foreseeing antigravity technology? Jules Verne? H.G. Wells?

We might have to go all the way back 741 years to the first documented prophecy:

By a machine three fingers high and wide and of less size a man could free himself and his friends from all danger of prison and rise and descend.

The prophecy came from medieval times from an English born Franciscan monk and early seer of modern day technologies. Roger Bacon (1214?-1294), born to a wealthy family, was a rebellious and precocious youth. His education explored the scientific frontiers of his superstitious time. In Bacon’s medieval world, God was Big Brother and the theologian his infallible commissar. With big brother watching, he studied at Oxford and the University of Paris, becoming a master of alchemy, astrology, optics, astronomy and mathematics.

Bacon remains one of history’s greatest techno-prophets. One can open the yellowed and flaking pages of his Epistola de Secretis (c. 1269) and find descriptions, in clear and unmistakable language, of modern aircraft, cars, and ships, and the advent of suspension bridges, submarines, and helicopters, which he forecasts thus:

Instruments of flying may be formed in which a man, sitting at his ease and meditating on any subject, may beat the air with his artificial wings after the manner of birds.

With time, Brother Bacon felt the noose of orthodoxy tighten around him. He was sent to prison for his “suspected novelties,” where he languished for fourteen years. He died soon after his release in 1292.

Roger Bacon’s medieval reference to antigravity may have foreseen the success of current experiments with electromagnetic propulsion systems. The Japanese are making promising advances in superconductivity that could see the chief producer of greenhouse gases — the internal combustion engine — go the way of the mammoth in the next 30 years.
