Usama bin Laden (above), Saddam Hussein. Which one is Nostradamus' Arab Prince of Evil?

The future and the events they anticipate are having a convergence. The prophecies of Nostradamus about his Third and Final Antichrist, code named Mabus now pit the two front-runners, the late Saddam Hussein and the recently killed Usama (Osama) bin Laden, in an ever-closer race to be number one candidate for Antichrist. Usama is catching up with Saddam.

Here, for your review are the two core quatrain prophecies about Mabus, the Third Antichrist, indexed 2 Q62 and 8 Q77 in Nostradamus’ prophetic masterpiece Les Propheties, initially published in serialized form between the years 1555 and 1560:

Let us go through the milestones that Saddam and Usama tally up to be candidate number one. (A full examination of all the Nostradamus Antichrist prophecies and potential past and future candidates can be had by reading my e-book. Click on Antichrist.

Being a dead candidate is the first and dubious milestone both share. Both violently annihilated: Saddam was hanged at the 30 December 2006, Usama shot by US Navy seals on May Day 2011.

Both men’s names can be found in the code name Mabus. Saddam backwards spells maddas=mabbas=mabas. Replace one redundant a and you get Mabus. Usama mixed around get us maaus. Take the b from bin Laden. Replace the redundant a and you get Mabus.

The horrible undoing of people and animals has not been made clear. It could imply the times in which they died, when the earth is seeing the balance of nature (animals) unraveling in devastating climate change caused by human abuse of the planet and overpopulation (people). There are many prophecies in Nostradamus about natural disasters, superstorms of terrible winds, global warming, vast inner-continental droughts at latitude 48 degrees across the world, all leading to a global famine and a third world war that may see two-thirds of the human race consumed.

It is not made clear in the prophecies if the Antichrist and the war arising from his annihilation triggers this unraveling of civilization and mass animal extinctions from a global catastrophe he caused. Indeed, the fact that Nostradamus does not directly tie the Third Antichrist to nearly 100 prophecies on this theme except for the nebulous connection made in 2 Q62 indicates to me that the unraveling of people and animals describes the times in which the Antichrist’s added catastrophe of a post mortem war takes place.

This however does not ignore the potential of either some terrible terrorist reprisal (in the case of Usama) or an unraveling of the Arab world because of a future breakup of Saddam’s Iraq as causes for the unraveling of the world. Saddam had famously predicted before being hanged that without his strong hand and dictatorship, Kurd, Shia and Sunni Iraqi’s would not be able to govern themselves and that sooner or later, Iraq would unravel. If the Middle East unravels, so does the oil industry that fuels human civilization. So, for now, I referee that the score is still tied. I conclude that 2 Q62, line 2 is dating the times in which the Antichrist dies, when humans and animals are enduring an unraveling of natural balances of the planet.

At once there is vengeance?

Saddam’s death did not see “immediately after” an unraveling of people and animals. We wait to see if this will happen in the next few months or years after the death of Usama. Score remains the same:

The line saying at once there will be vengeance is openly vague to embrace a future act of vengeance in retaliation to the killing of the Antichrist. One cannot say vengeance actually came from supporters of dead Saddam, although the worst years of the Iraqi sectarian civil war were ahead with the highest death tolls on Iraqis and US-coalition forces in the crossfire. Today saw the first reprisal bombings for Usama’s killing by Pakistani Taliban elements allied to al-Qaeda. Two suicide bombers killed scores of Pakistani Special Forces trainees as they gathered outside their boot camp facility in Western Pakistan to climb onto buses and minivans for a holiday. The death of 80 and the wounding of 100 of these does not fit the horrific reprisal implied that could ally 100 nations into an international counterattack. So, we are still waiting for something bigger to take place, perhaps in America — perhaps on or around the 10th anniversary of 9/11, or in al-Qaeda’s other favorite month to strike, the 11th month of each year.

Now, if line 3 of 2 Q62 and part of line 4 are implying an alliance of 100 nations taking vengeance on a history changing terrorist act, then I have to give Usama a point. After al-Qaeda’s hijacked jet takedown of the World Trade Center Towers and drilling of the Pentagon on 11 September 2011 — a terrifying crime dated and foreseen by Nostradamus, see Osama — President G. W. Bush collected 100 nations into his alliance to seek out and destroy Usama’s terrorist network. Shortly after, in a few months’ time, US forces and the Afghan Northern Alliance routed al-Qaeda and the Afghan Taliban regime that harbored them in Afghanistan. Usama and his surviving core of al-Qaeda were surrounded in caves on Mt Tora Bora. The survivors, including a wounded Usama, only just managed to sneak over into Pakistan where he spent nearly a decade in hiding, overseeing a greatly reduced and crippled al-Qaeda.

The last line of 2 Q62 returns to the theme of describing the times of the death of the Antichrist: a time of great climate disruption (thirst=drought), the crisis of potable water and famine looming for the an overpopulated world that will endure the birth of the 7th billionth thirsty and hungry child sometime around July of 2011. One might argue that this population milestone tilts the milestone in favor of Usama, however the climate has been unraveling since global temperatures spiked and kept spiking from 1998 onwards, including the year Saddam was hanged in 2006. So, no score change.

I will save the comet milestone at the end of 2 Q62 for last. Let us jump to the next quatrain.

We see in line one of 8 Q77, how it links the annihilation of Mabus to the annihilation of the “Third Antichrist”. They are one.

Let us jump ahead to the verse’s final line. The blood-soaked human bodies and the reddened icy or white spotted rain on the hemorrhaging bodies is a phenomenon seen on those killed by biological or chemical agents. Although a reprisal for Usama’s death may use these agents, clearly, Saddam scores one here because he notoriously used such weapons against the Kurds in 1988 in Halabja, killing thousands of civilians and on Iranian soldiers during the Iran-Iraq war perhaps killing and crippling 100,000 of them with mustard gas.

Now to 8 Q77′s line 3. This one leans in favor of Usama. He and his al-Qaeda jihadists are each considered by a vast majority of Muslims around the world as Al-muhartik (heretic). Since 9/11 to the present, most of the leading al-Qaeda planners, the cream of his suicide operatives who committed the act and thousands of AQ foot soldiers have been eliminated (dead), exiled from their countries of origin and made captives wasting away in a network of prisons far from home such as the US concentration camp at Guantanamo, Cuba.

Of course, one could argue that Saddam’s Baathist party henchmen are secular Islamic heretics also either eliminated, exiled from Iraq or crowded Abu Ghraib and other prisons. Nevertheless, Baathist dead and imprisoned have not made the historic impact of al-Qaeda dead and captives in a way that might have caught Nostradamus’ eye, so I give this one to Usama

Now to the most interesting new revelation in Nostradamus that only could be recognized after the death of Usama. Line 2 of 8 Q77 says about the Third Antichrist, “27 years his bloody war will last.”

Saddam fulfills this. The time he was made dictator, to the time he was hanged was 27 years of constant warfare for Iraq. Saddam waged a civil war with the Kurds living inside its borders as well as crushing a second Shia uprising in 1991, killing hundreds of thousands. Saddam initiated the Iran-Iraq War (1980-1989) killing a million people. He invaded Kuwait in 1990. He was thrown out of Kuwait with the loss of 150,000 soldiers killed and hundreds of thousands captured in the Persian Gulf War that followed in 1991. A low-grade war smoldered from 1991 to 2003 with US-Coalition patrolling a “No Fly Zone” over Iraqi airspace with occasional volleys of cruise missiles crashing into Baghdad in the mid and late 1990s. Then the US invaded Iraq in 2003 deposing Saddam’s regime. The Baathists fought a guerilla war with US occupiers then as Sunnis they grappled with the Shia in a bloody sectarian civil war at the time Saddam was hanged in late December 2006. A period of wars and civil wars that spanned exactly 27 years!

Score one for Saddam?

Not so fast!

New revelations have reached me today, which I have verified. Usama, back in 1984, established MAK (Maktab al-Khidamat) with Abdullah Azzam, an organization to raise funds and recruit a foreign legion of Arab mujahedeen fighters, mostly Saudi Arabs, to aid the Afghani mujahedeen’s guerilla war against Soviet occupiers of Afghanistan. Although Usama had been funding and fighting alongside Afghans since he completed college in 1979, MAK put Usama on history’s time map as a leader in a war — just the kind of prominence that a prophet from the 16th century would have recognized.

In 1984, Usama’s bloody war began, first with the Soviets, and then four years later, MAK became the foundation for creating and fundraising and recruiting al-Qaeda. Usama’s war shifted from Soviets and became a guerilla-terrorist war against Arab dictators, the Saudi King beholden to Western “Crusader” powers with a string terror bombings in the Middle East during the 1990s, as well as the first World Trade Center bombing in 1993.

Then came dramatic, large-scale swipes at US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania in 1998 killing hundreds and wounding thousands. Then the USS Cole bombing at port in Yemen in 2000 killing and wounding dozens of US Navy personnel.

Then came his bloody war’s greatest terror act, the 9/11 toppling of the World Trade Center twin towers and setting alight the US Pentagon with hijacked civilian airliners killing 3,000. This lead to US occupation of Afghanistan in a war spanning nearly a decade, killing over 50,000 civilians and combatants from all sides. The drone wars over Western Pakistan commenced, killing hundreds more. The war in Afghanistan spilled over into a conflict between Taliban Pakistani guerillas with the Pakistani Army adding thousands to the butcher bomber’s bill.

Then Usama’s blood war ended with his death by US Navy Seal bullets just a dozen days ago.

Usama’s bloody war lasted from 1984 to 2011.

That is also 27 years!

Now to the last milestone. It is placed at the end of 2 Q62. Mabus is soon annihilated and all these events transpire “when the comet will pass.”

If we factor in how Nostradamus uses comets as portents, the most obvious allusion is not some comet we see in a telescope. It must be a great comet, one that is seen clearly with the naked human eye, like the one, for example, he successfully foresaw describing events in the future French Wars of Religion that could only happen under the unearthly glow of the great comet of 1577.

The early morning hours, just before the hanging of Saddam saw for the first time to the naked eye what would become the brightest comet in 60 years, Comet McNaught. There is no similar comet of singular brilliance seen by the naked eye at the death of Usama.

I know, I know. The emails will come flooding in about Comet Elenin, but it is not visible to the naked eye and will only become a visible smudge with a tale in late summer. No big light show like McKnaught is expected.

Yes, as it approaches the Sun it has been part of some pretty significant, and perhaps more than coinciding, surprises. As I detailed in my last blog, see Nostradamus, every time Elenin lined up with the Sun and Earth, there has been a significant earthquake on that day: the Chilean quake and Pacific Tsunami in February 2010, the Christchurch temblor in New Zealand, September 2010 and the Japanese quake and Pacific Tsunami of March 2011.

There will be two more opportunities for Elenin to trigger quakes of global significance come this September and November. If Elenin achieves a 5 and 0 on significant seismic events and tsunamis before it slips out of the solar system after November, then it could be considered the Mabus Comet and Usama bin Laden would score one on Saddam as Antichrist candidate number one. However, for now, I have to give a point to Saddam, because the comet allusions Nostradamus uses in other visions fits with this as a visible heavenly portent of the death of Mabus.

Today’s article is a tale of two poets: one a candidate for Antichrist, the other a 16th-century seer who may have foreseen an Antichrist’s terminal fate four-and-a-half centuries before it happened.

Peter Bergen, the last Western journalist to interview Usama (incorrectly pronounce Osama) bin Laden wrote in his recent Time Magazine article The End of bin Laden, that the George Washington of Wahhabi Islamic extremism, the founder of the al-Qaeda (the base) terrorist organization, fancied himself a poet.

He wrote a death wish in Arabic verse, which translates: “Let my grave be an eagle’s belly, its resting place in the sky’s atmosphere amongst perched eagles.”

Bergen rightfully called Usama bin Laden’s verses morbid. I too have read many of them. Bin Laden’s poetic metaphors take him down paths of myth and fantasy he does not anticipate too well.

Why be in an eagle’s belly? Why not desire in verse to the liberated eagle’s spirit, flying on footless pathways on air, soaring free in limitless sky?

Why desire to be eaten like prey? You then have given poetic power to the eagle that devours you. You are then just lunch.

What usually sits in eagles bellies in high aeries, digested and made effluent falling from high twig nests are a belly grave legacy: the waste products of devoured fish, rabbits and rats.

Usama bin Laden, I think the eagle had a near midnight snack of “rat” the day US Navy Seals in stealth helicopters raided your compound in Abbottabad on May Day (Pacific Time). These Americans put one well-aimed bullet through your morbidly poetic heart and one in your metaphor-muddled head. It is strange you wrote of resting in the belly of an eagle, because elite troops of the country you had attacked on 9/11 hail from a nation represented by the animal totem of a Bald Eagle.

Was Usama an accidental prophet in his verse?

A poet far less accidental in his verses of prophecy and no less morbid than bin Laden, was Michel de Nostredame, who wrote under the Latinized surname Nostradamus.

Those verses comprising his history of the future span the years 1555 to 3797 and beyond. Some focus on three Antichrists. The first is code named Napaulon Roy (King Napoleon). The second is Hister (Adolf Hitler). (Read more about these by clicking on Antichrist.)

Prophecies about a third and final Antichrist are definitely trying to find anchor in the present ever since his famous “1999″ prophecy (10 Q72) may have cunningly hid the date of dreadful attacks of one of four chief candidates for the Antichrist in our times, Usama bin Laden.

L’an mil neuf cens nonante neuf sept mois,
Du ciel viendra vn grand Roy d’effrayeur.
Resusciter le grand Roy d’Angolmois.
Auant apres Mars regner par bon heur.

(Literal translation)

In the year 1999, September month,
From the sky will come a great King of terror.
He will bring back Genghis Khan.
Before and after Mars rules happily.

In the year 1999, month seven
From the sky will come a great King of terror.
The King of the Mongols he will awaken
Mars rules happily before and after.

It is easy for non-French readers who have only read Nostradamus in translations to overlook the sing-songy, A-B-A-B, cadence of his quatrain poetry. Fortunately, this famous verse is relatively easy to convert into English preserving the meaning with the rhyme, not so true of many other quatrains, though.

Nostradamus clearly spells out a date for our times so it is most important. Far more important than 2012, a date he never mentions. (Sorry all you twenty-twelver authors who have made an industry trying to sacrifice the prophetic heart of Nostradamus by spreading him over the temple altar of your Mayan Calendar flights of imagination.) Nostradamus describes in this verse a history shaking act of a great terrorist coming out of the sky during the time China, becomes a superpower. They resurrect the memory of Genghis Khan.

The fact of the matter is, during the 1990s, the greatest king of the Mongol hordes who conquered China had be “rehabilitated” in Chinese schools by the Communist government as a good totalitarian role model. This fact is used to frame the time of this prophecy when Mars (god of war) rules happily before and after the terrorist event.

The dating in the first line has layers of meaning. The initial one being literal for the great earthquakes following those lands cast in the Moon’s shadow mentioned in detail elsewhere in Nostradamus verses in a solar eclipse. He says it takes place just prior to the great cycle of the centuries being renewed (the year 2000-2001). The path of the Moon’s shadow he described did indeed pass over Flanders, as well as Greece, Turkey and India during the eclipse of 11 August 1999. (Note the 9s and 11s). After which great earthquakes did rock Greece, and especially Turkey seven days after the eclipse in the city of Izmit, just outside of Istanbul, killing an estimated 45,000 leaving 600,000 homeless.

The important eclipse and date of the quakes in Greece and Turkey are also alluded to in the first line. Follow Nostradamus’ classical allusions and you can unlock his secrets. He plays with a double entendre on sept mois. It means the seventh month (July). It also literally stands for Septembre or the old seventh month September before Roman dictator Julius Caesar and Emperor Augustus Caesar created new months named after them: July and August. In this quatrain Nostradamus implies both July and September. The old and new seventh months in the calendar bracket the solar eclipse in August 1999 before the great millennium’s turning that so interested him as a shift in human destiny far more significant that 2012.

There is a third meaning hidden in line one. It dates the violent, civilization-shaking action of a potential antichrist happening around what Nostradamus sometimes calls in other verses the renewing of the “great motor of the centuries”. This shift of the second Christian millennium to the third is incorrectly identified by most of us as the year 2000. Nostradamus was aware as many astrologers would be aware that 31 December 2000 is the last day of the old millennium. The first of January 2001 launches the new.

In Year One of the new millennium, the “great King of terror” descends from the skies in jets hijacked by his minions. They plunge like missiles into the twin towers, or the “hollow mountains” of “the great new city”, New York City, which Nostradamus famously described in detail in Century 6 Quatrain 97and Century 10 Quatrain 49. Veteran HogueProphecy readers will be aware of this but for all the hundreds of thousands of new readers visiting Hogueprophecy.com since Usama bin Laden was killed, Nostradamus not only used anagrams to hide names of future people in history, he also may have scrambled numbers in codes.

Thus, 1999 seventh — or September — month is a code dating Usama bin Laden’s attack. Replace the one with a nine. Replace the three nines with three ones and you get 9-11-1 September month.

In my book Nostradamus and the Antichrist, Code Named: Mabus, I show how applying Nostradamus’ rules of anagramming can see the names of four historic figures waging the so-called War on Terror that Usama bin Laden’s Pearl Harbor style attack started in 2001 decoded out of the anagram Mabus. They are:

1.) Usama (Maaus=Ma(b)us) bin Laden, if you replace one redundant letter a with the one letter missing in the puzzle (b), you get Mabus.

2.) g.w. Bush, if you follow the rule of reversing and turning letters upside down, g and w then make m and a, which equals Mabus(h). Drop the redundant h and you get Mabus.

3.) Apply the law of reverse-mirror imaging and Mabus=subam=sudam gets you the correct Arabic phonetic pronounciation of Saddam (suh-daam) Hussein.

4.) Apply the correct pronunciation of Obama (oubama or ubama) and then mix the spelling: ubama=maabu. Replace the redundant letter a with the missing s, and you get Mabus.

Depending on which side of this war on terror you pin your allegiance, either Bush and Obama are good leaders fighting the evil Saddam and Usama, or vice versa. What is truly remarkable and unique in Nostradamus prophecy is the potential confusion possible in the mind of the 16th-century seer peering into the dark potentials of centuries yet formed trying to isolate protagonists with similar names: Obama fighting Osama, for instance.

I mean, how many times have you, my readers, caught yourself in conversation saying Obama when you meant Osama or made the gaff the other way around? Even love-Obama blinded comedian Bill Maher on HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher accidentally on purpose last Friday made the slip calling Osama Obama on live TV.

Imagine if you were not mesmerized by a 21st-century TV but under the spell of some 16th-century magical litany running in your nutmeg buzzed head in the middle of the night as you sit yourself in a white hooded robe, barefoot, on a brass tripod over a boiling bowl of steaming sulfuric waters. You are not talking at the TV this time but you are having a paranormal conversation, either with your own psychotic secret self, or a disincarnated “messenger” with his hair on fire, you just conjured out of the ethers with your laurel wand.

You blurt out in 16th-century French:

“Qu’avez-vous dit, Monsieur de l’ange de feu ? Obama ? Ou estoit cela Osama est le Troisieme Antechrist ?”

Translation: “What did you say, Master Angle of Fire? Obama? Or did you say Osama is the Third Antichrist?”

I am not at all certain Nostradamus could easily separate hero from antichrist in his prophetic verses about who Mabus is, but the prophetic consequences of the Antichrist’s sudden and violent death, as explained in 2 Q62 and 8 Q77, potentially stoke apocalyptic fires in the Arab-Muslim world.

We look at these in literal English translation:

At once one will see vengeance,
One hundred powers, thirst, famine, when the comet will pass.

The Third Antichrist very soon annihilated,
Twenty-seven years his bloody war will last.

In brief, Nostradamus uses similar narratives to link a longer vision in several quatrains consciously scattered out of sequence to protect future evil ones from recognizing themselves, changing plans and winning wars they should have lost as Nostradamus foretold. Line one in both quatrains above links them together because of similar language. Thus Mabus and the Third Antichrist are one, soon dying or very soon annihilated. The death either undoes the world of people and animals, or he is killed at a time when people have disrupted the natural balance of nature (animals); in other words, our climate changing times caused by human air pollution. Our times will experience the greatest mass extinction of animals since the death of the dinosaurs, if the current rate of natural land and ocean habitat destruction continues for a century.

Death of Mabus brings vengeance from his followers so terrible that 100 nations belligerently respond. Again, the mention of thirst and famine dates this event at a time when humanity has a growing potable water and food sustainability crisis ongoing.

The upheaval in the Arab world right now was directly triggered by higher food prices caused by more hungry mouths to feed in the year that will see the birth of the seven billionth child. Potable water as well is becoming the ever more rare and precious new gold — blue gold. Wars will be smoldering soon over water rights. Wars in the times of the Antichrist.

Mabus dies at the sighting of a comet. Does Nostradamus mean a great comet like Comet McNaught, the one appearing to the naked eye the night before Saddam Hussein was hanged? In two weeks time it became the brightest comet in 60 years.

Is it Comet Elenin, currently approaching the Sun at the time of Usama bin Laden’s takedown?

Elenin is very small and will be hardly visible at all. Perhaps its passing is more significant because of its yet unknown ability to trigger massive natural disasters around the time of the death of the Third Antichrist?

Amateur astronomers using NASA’s website have found that the Jet Propulsion Laboratory Small Body Database Browser has predicted the three most recent 7.0+ magnitude earthquakes with striking accuracy each time the small, nondescript Comet Elenin has lined up with the Sun and Earth upon its approach. Earth on first line up on 27 February 2010 experienced a magnitude 8.8 temblor hitting the Chilean coast sending a tsunami across the Pacific.

On the second line up on 4 September 2010, a 7.2 quake hit Christchurch New Zealand.

On a third line up on 11 March 2011, a 9.0 quake shook Japan sending a devastating tsunami into the northeastern coast of Honshu Island and other strong reverberant waves across the Pacific Ocean.

The JPL Small Body Database Browser calculates two more alignments of the Sun, Earth and Elenin in 2011 will happen on 26 September and 23 November.

Consequences stemming from the death of Mabus as the Antichrist may result in a 27-year war, though in his Epistle to Henry II Nostradamus says the war is 25 years long. They could be two different time lines, the 27-years first followed by a 25-year period. That is, if Nostradamus intended Saddam Hussein to be Mabus.

Nostradamus foresaw: 27 years his bloody war would last…

If you count the years from the time Saddam became Iraq’s dictator to his death by hanging you are describing a period of perpetual warfare, inside and outside of Iraq’s borders. It climaxed in the invasion and occupation of Iraq by US forces. These were caught in the bloody crossfire of yet another civil war between Iraqi Shia and Sunnis at the time of Saddam Hussein’s hanging, 27 years after he became dictator of Iraq.

Facts do parallel 8 Q77′s third line. Many heretics of true Islam are dead, banished and scattered. The final lines also imply the scattering of al-Qaeda, its many operatives and leaders now wasting away far from their homes in prisons, such as that in USA held Guantanamo, Cuba.

As stated earlier, Nostradamus may have mistaken two or more candidates as one Antichrist. Perhaps the “vengeance” mentioned in 2 Q62 – a possible retaliation to Saddam’s death and/or that of Usama bin Laden — is developed further in the second verse (8 Q77). The red rains might imply a use of chemical, biological or radiological weapons of mass destruction that triggers a further 25 years of conflict set in motion by a terrible act of retaliatory vengeance for the death of the Third Antichrist.

In my next report on new Nostradamus revelations after the death of Usama bin Laden, I will show how the milestone event of Usama bin Laden’s annihilation, his burial at sea, the Operation name of the Navy Seals attack on his compound all offer fresh insights into Nostradamus’ Antichrist prophecies. The new evidence ties the death of bin Laden to that of Libyan dictator, Muhammar Gaddafi, happening any time now but no later than 2013.

The 25-year war of the Antichrist may actually be caused by another kind of retaliatory revenge not initially anticipated even today by al-Qaeda. It may come out of Libya, infect and radicalize the Arab Revolution, dragging Russia and America into a terrible destruction of people and animals through a thermonuclear war no one but a few of history’s greatest seers, have anticipated.

Mother Nature’s World War Heats up

There are just too many things happening these days to focus solely on one subject per article. So I will periodically insert these new “PS Prophecies” segments at the end of articles.

A few words today about oncoming natural disasters. Before bin Laden was killed, the prophetic focus was on historic tornadic devastation as the North American winter of epic blizzards and historic storms transformed into the globally warmed spring of super-tornado attacks. The late April 2011 tornado outbreak in the US southern states that killed over 300 made me muse recently on Coast to Coast AM (link to you archived show page) that major disasters, politically, economically and especially seismic and climate-oriented seem to be slamming the human civilization once a month in 2011. I said for the first time and for the record on that radio show broadcast across North America that I may have to call the year 2011, The Year of 12 Catastrophes. For instance:

The redoubling intensity of weather and natural disasters from an already and historically violent 2010 is one of my oracles most accurately chilling themes in Predictions for 2011.

These days accurately forecasting one disaster after another is not enough. For decades now, I have promised my readers that when I sensed the human race had at last entered a century of tipping points in its sustainable existence on this planet, I would begin sharing meditation techniques I have used since 1980. They can help one be an individual answer to human abuse of each other and the planet, rather than a part of the collective problem.

In my book Nostradamus and the Antichrist, published in mid-2008, I ended what was a 25-year search for the Third Antichrist narrowing the candidates down to four people. Two are presidents who see their names spell the anagram Mabus. They are G.W. Bush and the current president Barack Obama.

The other two are notorious terrorist leaders, Saddam Hussein and Osama (Usama) bin Laden.

The first two may be the hunters, the second two, the hunted candidates for the Third Antichrist.

In my book on Mabus, written and posted in an e-Book several months before Obama was elected president of the United States, I predicted that Obama would be elected and that in his first term he would hunt down and destroy the mastermind of the 9/11 attacks.

Nostradamus, the prophetic giant of the last millennium, said in the mid-1550s that in the future there would be a “black king” involved in the war against the Third Antichrist. I interpreted that to mean he was Obama, the future African American president of the United States.

Here is the passage from my Third Antichrist book in question:

Nostradamus.

“Barack Hussein Obama’s name comprises elements of two top candidates for Third Antichrist: Saddam Hussein and Usama-Osama-Obama bin Laden. I can’t rule out the possibility that possibility Nostradamus, like Dixon, misread his symbols giving renewed life to Mabus-Obama being mistaken as the Antichrist in some composite blend of several men drawn into the same fateful destiny — all sharing Arabic names.

“Senator Obama has made it crystal clear that if he were president he would act decisively to change the US strategic focus of the War on Terrorism out of Iraq and into Afghanistan, even Pakistan. Obama intends to apprehend and annihilate “Osama” bin Laden. If the US forces have to invade Pakistan’s Wild West autonomous provinces to destroy bin Laden in his lair, so be it.”

I further wrote a passage about Obama as the “Black King” foreseen by Nostradamus would increase troop levels in Afghanistan and go after the al-Qaeda leader in Pakistan. Note the prediction in red, published over two-and-a-half years ago:

A right interpretation depends on divining who is the subject of these vague third person personal and possessive pronouns. Play with it in French and the anagram Alus sanguinaire (Bloody Alus) becomes L’USA sanguinere (the bloody USA). Le noir (the black) may be an anagram for le roi n(oir): “the black king.” Earlier interpretations had a black robed Shia cleric of Iran or Iraq who makes the angry one, such as Saddam Hussein, repent; however, if this applies literally to an African American future president, then it might describe Barack Obama’s Iraq policy in future action.

The Greek Meso (between) potamia (two rivers) is Iraq geographically defined as the land between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers. This round of interpretation presumes President Bush the angry one made to repent his invasion of Iraq by Obama who pulls out combat troops in the first 16 months of his presidency. Another candidate for angry one is Usama bin Laden who will repent ordering al-Qaeda to infiltrate Iraq during the Bush administration. The Black president (king) will increase US forces in Afghanistan, killing or capturing Usama in a military incursion into Pakistan.

If “Obama” has killed “Osama” as Nostradamus’ candidate for Antichrist, you can decode his name thusly, using Nostradamus’ laws of anagramming,

Osama = (correct phonetic pronunciation) Usama

Rearrange the letters to: maaus

You can replace one redundant letter with only one letter missing, which is the b.

Thus you get maaus = ma(a)us = mabus.

The story of Mabus, the Third Antichrist does not end but begins with his death. The Mabus prophecy reads:

Mabus puis tost alors mourra, viendra,
De gens & bestes vne horrible defaite:
Puis tout à coup la vengeance on verra,
Cent, main, soif, faim, quand courra la comete.

Mabus very soon then will die, [then] will come,

The death of the Mabus is as sudden and violent as the US Special Forces firefight that killed Usama bin Laden in Pakistan today. If he is the true candidate for Mabus, then there will be retribution that in other parts of Nostradamus’ history of the future implies a 25 to 27 year war of the Third Antichrist will follow.

There will be a horrible undoing of people and animals, an unraveling of civilization (humans) together with an undoing of the natural balances (implied by “animals”). This could be dating a time of climate change and ecological crisis as the time of the death of the Antichrist.

One hundred nations (powers) initially allied with the US in a war against the international terror fomented by Usama bin Laden’s al-Qaeda terrorists when they took down the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York City with hijacked jets and crashed a third into the Pentagon in Washington DC on September 11, 2001.

The final line implies these events happen in a time not only of ecological stresses like ours but also when food and water sustainability are approaching a crisis in our overpopulated world. The historic rise of food prices this year may be a precursor to these oncoming events of drought, or thirst and famine to come in the day following the violent death of the Third and Final Antichrist.

The most important thing to key on in this prophecy for the immediate future is “vengeance”.

Vengeance to come in retaliation!

Usama bin Laden has planned for his martyrdom for nearly a decade. There will be vengeance coming.

Be extra vigilant.

The terrible undoing and destruction of people and animals may also imply the long planned use of a weapon of mass destruction, either radiological, chemical or biological that kills both animals and humans that only will be unleashed when this high profile candidate for Nostradamus’ Antichrist “is annihilated. “

Tempers in the Middle East, the intensity of world weather and prices, all rise. A number of you and a number of those who have recently had me as guests on blog talk and radio interviews have voiced wonder mixed equally with alarm at my oracle’s accurate assessments of world and ecological events recorded in Predictions for 2010 and Predictions for 2011 thus far.

With this in mind, I wanted to inform you that tonight, across North America (26 February 2011) the History Channel documentary Nostradamus 2012 will be rebroadcast. My interview took place in the inner sanctum of the vast Masonic Lodge in downtown San Antonio, Texas, on a hot and humid summer day in 2008. If you are able to watch the documentary, I wish concentrate on a segment in the first hour because it is the most important warning to make wrong by right actions born in the present.

I was grateful that unlike what recently happened to me in the Brad Melzer’s Decoded fiasco, the editors of 1080 Productions, subcontracted to produce Nostradamus 2012, appreciated what I had to say. They did not digitally delete me in the editing room (though they did choose to leave out what I had to say about the connection of Nostradamus to Mayan Prophecies and the Mayan Calendar purportedly ending time as we have known it on 21 December 2012). Be that as it may, what 1080 did not cut was, in my opinion, far more important than 2012, because it is something you are now directly feeling when you go to the market to buy your basic sustenance. It is impacting you long before the year 2012 arrives.

You all will continue to be feeling and dealing with this crisis long after that year and all the Chicken Littleism surrounding it is forgotten as we all plunge forward into history’s maelstrom of runaway events poised to unravel civilization in the 2020s — if we do not understand how to stop it.

A few more matters to discuss before we cover the main topic of this article today.

A day of rage demonstrations in Palestinian territories occupied by Israel did not make much of a stir in the news. It would seem the Arab Revolution has given Israel a respite from a direct confrontation. The shift in focus from Arabs taking down their kings and dictators to protesting what they see as the injustice of a hypocritically undemocratic occupation of Arab Palestinian lands by the only true democracy in the region, will skip this week, this month even. We will find the revolution’s focus erupting on Israel’s doorstep in the month of March.

There is a great opportunity in these dangerous times in the Middle East to see a significant withdrawal of American forces as I predicted in my forecasts for 2010 and 2011. I still hold to a prediction I made as far back as early 2009 on Coast to Coast AM, there will be a rapid withdrawal of US forces home from Iraq and Afghanistan much sooner than 2014. As I said years ago, whoever would be the next president after G.W. Bush, he or she would have to scale down US imperial reach around the world because predictably like all great superpowers, America has overextended itself can ill afford further sustaining its military reach. Economics, not Usama bin Laden, will see a US retreat and as I detailed in my forecast for 2011, this “insolationism” coming to the US has potentially positive consequences for its people.

This weekend, the day of greatest rage was in the streets of Iraq. Revolution can happen there as well, for the government experiment established by the grace of US occupation is at best dysfunctional and better serving corruption than the Iraqi people. I expect I will have to review Nostradamus’ clear allusions to Iraq in his prophecies, refreshing my interpretation as events come clearer as the times of their arrival into the present appear.

All civil wars have their lulls. This weekend, the Libyans draw a breath before the next wave of violence. Gaddafi entrenches in Tripoli, massacring dissenters in its streets, arming the pro-Gaddafi mob militias.

I am most concerned that Gaddafi will not shrink at using his vast stores of chemical and biological weapons if there be attacks on Tripoli. In addition, he has shot bomber pilots who declined to fly bombing runs on Benghazi and oil installations in rebel held eastern Libya. He replaced these with Algerian mercenary pilots who may not care what WMD they drop from their bomb bays. A NATO-US organized “no-fly” zone must be established if we possibly can prevent another Halabja massacre in Libya — the thousands killed in a Kurdish town gassed from the air by Nostradamus Antichrist candidate Saddam Hussein in 1988.

I expect that March will see my oracle’s prophecies for 2011 vindicated on the wild weather front as blizzards are replaced by tornadoes when a sudden and violent shift from winter to spring takes place in the eastern and central parts of the Untied States. The catchword for 2011 is a redoubling of everything you saw hurled at you from Mother Nature in the violent year of 2010. Christchurch, New Zealand is but a taste of the earthquakes I expect will come in the spring and summer months.

Washington DC politicians have, as predicted, played nicey-nicey with platitudinous, patronizing placations on the news about toning down their politically polarizing, violent rhetoric. It will not last. Watch it come apart in March when the budget debate begins. The legislative demonstrations you see in February move from Cairo Egypt to Madison Wisconsin and the capitol buildings of Ohio, New Jersey, etc., will come marching into the nation’s capitol building in March. Now I would like to at last share with you a reply I made back in October 2010 to a letter sent from a young Indian citizen named Suraj who saw a broadcast of Nostradamus 2012 in India.

Hello sir. I am just a 14-year-old kid from India looking for answers and I’m eager for answers. I saw the documentary of yours about the prophecies of Nostradamus and am willing to study deeply about it. I am not a very bright child but I take a of interest in this subject. I have a very few questions sir and would be pleased if you answered them. My first question is … What do you think is my part in not letting these dark prophecies coming true?

HOGUE
Thank you for writing me and joining my newsletter list. When I look at what our part is in these prophecies, it is the darkness played out by us that is not our own. Our societies, religions, parents, priests, politicians and pedagogues (teachers) condition this darkness into us. One must forgive them for they do not know what they are doing. They too were programmed to automatically impart identifications and borrowed knowledge and they often did this with their sincere intent to love us, as far as they knew or thought they knew what love is. Nevertheless, all of us eventually are coated with other people’s ego habits and ego identities over that which can never be predictable. “That” which is eternal, that, which visits the realm of time (past-and-future) but lives in the eternity of the present moment, waking-sleeping, or living-dying.

The dark prophecies of Nostradamus are warnings, are pitfalls set before us that I believe the prophet wished us to be alert in avoiding, in finding new pathways to better futures. The only way I know how to do my part not to serve the dark destinies of these prophecies is to live and awaken each moment the light of my inner awareness. To do this, I must see into why I am living a habitual, unconscious, robotic identity.

You are fourteen. This is a crossroads moment. At fourteen new energies awaken and one can gain a knack of keeping the thread (the sutra) of soul untouched as you soon enter a more intense process of ego “education”.

Education is necessary. We need to learn how to live and relate in this world. The problem is, our educators are not wise. For the most part, they have only borrowed the wisdom of others. It is not their direct experience. Even authentic knowledge, if borrowed, is less valuable than your direct and existential experiences. So, the teachers being unaware of real wisdom teach us to identify with this “body-mind” vehicle we use in life.

In short, they teach us to think we are the car, not the “driver” of this car traveling the path of our destiny. So, learn all you can about how to drive the body and the mind through your life but remember that you are not this car and all of its labels of identity. You are far more than this. Your name, your mind, your body and senses, your language, and social training, etc., are only utilitarian. They are tools. But remember, you are not “the hammer” but the hand of soul that wields it.

You are wrong, Suraj, about not being very bright. I see wisdom in you. It is in your fundamental questions in this email. Keep that wisdom flame burning. Do not let education and the programming of identities suppress it.

There are four major candidates at this time: Barack Obama, G.W. Bush, Usama bin Laden and Saddam Hussein. The last and dead candidate has actually fulfilled more of the Third Antichrist prophecies than any other person to date. But more than this, I end the book with an essay about what I call the Antichrist Unconscious. To me in my experience, this is the Anti-Christ (Anti-Conscious) force driving all of us to be mechanical and predictable in our lives.

For the most part we can do little about any else’s ego personifications of anti-conscious behavior, but we can do something about the “Antichrist Unconscious” in ourselves. We can understand, transcend, and dispel this shadow by doing meditations that can re-light our forgotten inner witnessing awareness.

And my last question… Is the world actually going to end in 2012? Because Nostradamus also predicted that there would be a World War 3 for 27 years but there is no world war going on right now, so how can the world end in 2012 if the war has not started yet?

HOGUE
Nostradamus never predicted anything for the year 2012. It is one of the biggest lies put out there by irresponsible so-called 2012 scholars. In the documentaries you see me currently in, my video spots are surrounded by these silly people who think their imaginations can trump this fact. In each show, I have countered their theories but my words are selectively cut out of these documentaries because it does not sell the show.

Nostradamus forecast the end of the world in the year 3797 A.D. We have almost 1,800 years of history yet to see ourselves through.

The Lost Book of Nostradamus that these 2012ers promote as their proof of his predicting the end of the world in 2012 is a forgery from the 17th century. Nostradamus never wrote it. Moreover, the colored images in the book are so vague that you could project anything that is in your mind as prophecy.

Nostradamus’ “2012″ was the year 1999 and it was meant to be the year when the great engine of the centuries would move again towards a new era. This process is gradual. That does not mean we are not heading for great upheavals after 1999 but the process could take another 50 to 100 years before it is through. In a few years we will all forget 2012 as just another year in a greater process of revolutionary change.

I am currently finishing an e-Book on 2012 and what Nostradamus actually wrote about our times. It also points to the inaccuracies of the Mayan Calendar which actually might place their change point in their 5,000 year cycle back between the winter solstices of 1998 and 1999, not the oncoming winter solstice of 2012.

What about the rest of the quatrain? What makes Mabus the Third Anti-Christ anyway? There really isn’t that much evidence linking Mabus with the Third Anti-Christ. I read John’s Mabus book and I just don’t see it…maybe I’m stubborn, or maybe I just want real evidence, and now what if and could be.

Before I, give you and Chris my answer here is the famous Mabus prophecy in Century 2 Quatrain 62 followed by what many believe is part two of the same vision in Century 8 Quatrain 77 of his book Les Propheties:

Nostradamus can’t cover complicated visions in one small verse of four lines, so he leaves word and phrase links to other verses scattered around the ten volumes of Les Propheties. A pattern of word usage can be a bridge to part two or part three of longer presages. For instance, the first lines of these two quatrains above talk about Mabus and the Third Antichrist. He “soon then will die.” He is “very soon annihilated.” These are linguistic hints that may indicate the subjects of these two quatrains are linked by immediate death and annihilation causing bloody war and the unraveling or undoing of people and animals alike. Such phrasings do not appear elsewhere in the quatrains except in these two verses. That is significant.

Now to Chris I gave two answers:

1.) Yes, you stubbornly want to have the future fit your view. I understand it. I wrestle with this every day as a prophecy scholar. I am very sympathetic to your stubborn stance about facts.

2.) You want the facts to draw conclusions when all the facts haven’t happened yet to make that conclusion. This is the dilemma of being a futurist. How can there be facts before an event completely happened?

In my Mabus book I laid out the ways in which candidates did and didn’t fit the clues in the prophecy. I showed the linguistic links that are the main ways Nostradamus clued us into quatrains combining word usage, biblical metaphor and classical metaphors to other quatrains.

I also gave my readers objective facts matching prophecy, such as Saddam Hussein’s reign of terror lasting 27 years and that he died when a comet did pass. But again, as long as there are other possibilities waiting in the future we cannot be “objective” about facts being fulfilled now. For instance, Saddam died on a comet pass 27 years after he took power, but what if Usama bin Laden dies when a new comet passes? What if the comet is a missile and not a comet, as such. The statement, “When the comet will pass,” could stand as a metaphor for something Nostradamus can’t quite grasp, like a missile fired from a drone with a long comet-like trail of fire falling out of the sky.

One may be 100-percent able to judge the antichrist prophecies when and only when the times they frame have clearly come and gone into the past, like other miraculous prophecies Nostradamus set down for the French Revolution, or Hitler, or Napoleon, etc.

Who is Mabus, the Third and Final Antichrist foreseen by Nostradamus?

Discovery premiered their Nostradamus Decoded tonight. Fabulous production quality and for the first hour they tried their best to be fair and balanced between skeptical and sympathetic views of Nostradamus until the temptation was too great. They dug up a fellow who was an expert on 16th-century French but had no knowledge whatsoever of mystical or occult knowledge from the same century. They also dug up James Randi to rant his usually unchallenged lapses of research. I tried four times in the last 20 years to corner him in a foursquare debate on television; wherein every statement he made could be challenged. He always escaped.

Don’t get me wrong, I generally liked the show and it was rich in good material from both sides. Bravo Discovery Channel for coming a long way forward from that disaster of a documentary called Nostradamus: A Skeptical Inquiry. Its more deserving descendant, Nostradamus Decoded, went a lot farther to allow skeptics to be challenged. I am grateful for that. However, Discovery Channel still seems to have a front office policy of being pre-wired biased in favor of any skeptical view, and still lets a lot of these lazy and undisciplined skeptics, like Randi, go unchallenged.

Hope in me springs eternal that Discovery will advance the path of science (which means to know) by allowing me in future documentaries they may plan on prophecy to answer every challenge, so that you, the television viewer, can be served best to decide for yourself whether the Randis or the Hogues in this Nostradamus debate have best presented their arguments.

I will give you, my readers, the responses to challenges made on this show as soon as I can in a few weeks. I would like to do it now, however I am very busy in the next few weeks finishing the final edit of Predictions for 2010. Today the rough draft was finished, appropriately on All Soul’s Day because the future of 2010 will shake souls — not only shake them for worse.

What I can present for you tonight is a blog article composed in March that covers my take on one of the main themes of Nostradamus Decoded:

I have been on the trail of decoding Nostradamus anagram for his Third and Final Antichrist perhaps longer than most Nostradamian scholars. I began in 1982, over a quarter-century ago. I waited this long before releasing my findings about MABUS because I felt the times for the actual emergence of the one Nostradamus calls his last Antichrist where not nigh unto now

The book covers just about every possible angle I have discovered on my own or collected from fellow divination detectives on the case. There are few stones left unturned, yet on rare occasions someone comes up with something interesting like the reader named “Sultan” did the other day. Another reader we’ll cal “J” presents a view often entertained by readers that Mabus isn’t a name, it’s an acronym.

I wanted to comment on your opinion on Mabus. I agree and expanding on your theory. [Try this interpretation:] Mabus May Be Us (or) May Be U.S. – both of which would apply.

HOGUE
The only problem with that theory is that it assumes Nostradamus hid English phrases in his prophecies. After over 30 years study of his unique mangling of the French language, I have not seen anything convincing enough to conclude that Nostradamus used codes for English acronyms. Still, enough readers over the years come to me with these creative attempts which makes me think it is time to write a blog article about my views on the matter, so thanks for your inspiration, J.

Seeing as how Mabus applies to so many world leaders and figures couldn’t it also say we are in the time of Mabus?

I think Nostradamus is saying that indirectly with his many hints about the time, astrology, common names fitting Mabus. I don’t think he said this directly in a nudge of an English phrase in code, though.

In a way, my ending to the book tried to answer in the affirmative that question, and offer the readers a fresh look at just what the Antichrist might be, beyond personifications.

But back to your acronym theory. Hundreds of readers have supplied me with plays on MABUS meaning Ma Bush, for the former president’s mother, or adding the missing y say it is an acronym for May B us. Alternatively, May B U-nited S-tates. There are those of you who think it stands for a blending of G.W. Bush and Obama. It is true that a more traditional use of anagram rules from the 16th century will get you Mabus out of G.W. Bush. Just turn the G.W. to lower case g.w. Switch them around: w.g. Turn them upside down to get m.a. Bush, then drop the redundant h, and voilà! Mabus.

You can also get Obama from Mabus. The correct phonetics is oobama or ubama. You mix it to spell Maabu, cut the redundant a with an s replacement — et voilà, nous retroverons Mabus!

Now then, pardon my French, folks, but in no way have I found any acronyms for English phrases in Nostradamus. You have to look for French possibilities, and to a lesser extent phrases or names hidden in ancient French-related languages of Ossitan, Gallot, Provençal, or find an acronym you can hide phonetically in Roman letters for Greek, Hebrew, Arabic or print outright in Latin. Nostradamus blended these languages into his prophecies in Old French.

A great mushroom cloud ascended into Iraqi skies from a massive truck and car bombing in Baghdad on October 25. It expolded on an intersection of many key Iraqi government ministry buildings, which include the Iraqi Ministry of Justice and the headquarters of the Baghdad Provincial Council, rendering them windowless shells. Days later, the bodies are still being pulled out of the debris. At the time of this writing the death toll rises to more than 160 people, including dozens of children and over 500 are seriously wounded.

This was a direct Sunni insurgent attack on the Shia Iraqi controlled Nuri al-Maliki government. Prime Minister al-Maliki blamed it on Saddam Hussein die-hards aided and abetted by al-Qaeda trying to disrupt the country’s upcoming parliamentary elections.

I had proposed in Predictions for 2009 that progress to bring the three quarrelsome Shia, Sunni and Kurdish communities that make up Iraq into a national coalition would falter by 2010. Though the dictator Saddam Hussein is dead, his evil ghost haunts Iraq’s efforts to forge a sustainable future. In death, Saddam will indeed gain more prophetic capital as Nostradamus’ Third Antichrist, as we will see below.

Ray Mabus Antichrist, Part 2

I want to share more of your comments and reflections stirred by the appointment of Ray Mabus as Secretary of the US Navy in President Obama’s cabinet. Although Mabus has the dubious coincidence, perhaps, of having a name exactly like the code name for Nostradamus’ Third and Final Antichrist, I, like a Muslim reader of my blogs named “Sultan,” tend to lean towards a candidate already dead as chief candidate hidden under Nostradamus’ anagram, see: Mabus antichrist.

Reverse the letters of Mabus and you get Subam. Reverse the b to d and you get Sudam. You can add or subtract redundant letters and get Suddam. Nostradamus’ rules of anagram allow one new letter replacement to finish the letter puzzle. Therefore, you could change the u for an a and get Saddam. However, the Arabic would allow the u to remain because the pronunciation is like a long a for awh or uh: Sawhdam or Suh-dam Hussein. Quatrain 62 of Century 2 in Nostradamus predicts the Antichrist, code named Mabus, achieves his evil destiny after death, causing a “terrible undoing of people and animals”.

At the time of this writing, the dead Saddam Hussein has fulfilled more elements of the Third Antichrist prophecies than any other living candidate. Sultan begins by reminding us to be aware of Muslim perceptions regarding the death of Saddam in this interchange below — which I will enlarge upon for the public:

Sudam Hussein was killed around a day or two before Eid ul Adha, I remember this because I was mad at why they did not kill him after Eid ul Adha.

I posted an article about that on 31 December 2006, the day after he was hung, saying it was a Shiite government’s slap in the collective Sunni faces of Sunni Iraqis. Beyond that, an indelicate gesture against the civility of all Muslims, especially because of what Eid ul Adha represents to all members of the Ummah (the community of 1 billion Muslims around the world).

SULTAN
See on Eid ul Adha Muslims sacrifice sheep to God, to commemorate how prophet Abraham was allowed to spare his son, and instead sacrifice the sheep, and I guess this is what Nostradamus saw. He probably saw Muslims sacrificing sheep or cattle and that is why he said there would be a great slaughter of animals, but I can’t explain the human part.

Sultan, that is a unique take on the Mabus Prophecy. I’m not sure Nostradamus meant it that way, since he was a Jew whose family became Christian just before he was born. Yet, he indeed being Jewish might use the biblical metaphor of Abraham and Isaac to date Saddam’s death on Eid ul Adha. Maybe it is one of his double entendres. He dates the death of Saddam on a festival of animal sacrifice that would lead later to the wholesale sacrifice of people if Iraq. A peaceful resolution of pent up Sunni and Shia Iraqi sectarian passions is key in preventing the war of the Third Antichrist. Were Iraq to unravel, it could take the entire Middle Eastern region down with it in a future religious civil war. Then would come the terrible destruction of people after the sacrifice of animals, if that is how to interpret the famous Mabus prophecy. Thus, the death of the dictator who suppressed these passions let the genie out of the noisome bottle.

Nostradamus was definitely aware of Islamic ideas and had some knowledge of Arabic as it appears in his prophecies. However, he did view Islam with the prejudices of 16th-century Westerners fearful of Ottoman Suleiman the Magnificent’s attempts to expand his conquests into Christendom. I do believe Ottoman encroachment colored his view of the Ummah in the future.

Maybe he saw a riot that broke out in Iraq, over power, I don’t know.

I don’t know either. I know this, I pray that Iraq will find its way, and the various brothers and sisters of different understandings of the Prophet Muhammad can live in peace there. I have hope now that there is a chance, Inch Allah (God willing).

Enigma is playing in the background late this Friday night, which seems appropriate. I take a little break from writing Predictions for 2010 to issue an article in response to many of your letters about the man in Obama’s cabinet that the mainstream press dare not mention. He who must not be named. You’d think he was some Harry Pottered Voldemort. Poor fellow. He doesn’t deserve these murmurings of being named Mabus after Nostradamus’ final Antichrist of three foreseen. It is a coincidence being rear-ended by a remote possibility

Back on April Fool’s Day 2008, I wrote my first blog about Ray Mabus, the former Mississippi Governor, and former US Ambassador to Saudi Arabia and future Secretary of the Navy. It soon turned out to be no joke of April Fools that Mr. Mabus was officially holding that post fulfilling my prediction the previous summer logged in my book of Nostradamus predictions about Mabus, his Antichrist: Obama would pick a man named after Nostradamus’ Third and Final Antichrist — Mabus — as a member of his new cabinet. And boy would the soothsayer sleuthing tongues of prophecy investigators wag when it happened. They would begin to think the name is not in code like the other two antichrists of Nostradamian fame — Napaulon Roy (king Napoleon) and Hister (Adolf Hitler). The appointment of Mabus to be the civilian leader of the US Navy on the 194th anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo (18 June 2009) has since stirred many readers to send interesting comments, to which I wish to post a response today.

To “Ian” in Australia, I wrote the following:

I’ve been on the trail of Saddam Hussein as the man meant for the Third Antichrist since the mid-1980s. I have always had one candidate foremost in my vision and indeed the 27-year war element (from Century 8 Quatrain 77) is, like the sign of a comet at the Antichrist’s death (Century 2 Quatrain 62), key evidence to support Saddam Hussein as the best candidate. Saddam, more than anyone yet living or recently extinguished, has fulfilled all but one of the important milestones of the Third Antichrist and Mabus quatrains. I state my conclusion about Saddam fully aware that Nostradamus might have someone else in his mind. All students must sustain an alert and fluid intelligence when on the trail for Antichrist. Other candidates still have time to fulfill what Saddam Hussein being dead has notoriously accomplished, such as Usama bin Laden of al-Qaeda terror.

Ray Mabus AKA Mabus by contrast has not shaped up as an antichrist as Nostradamus simply states the death of Mabus will precipitate world war.

Yes, Mabus could be a victim rather than the antichrist himself. That is an important subplot in my Mabus ebook. Still, one must be cautious about making any hasty conclusions. The future has a funny way of sharing its insights through the back door of unanticipated events or the unanticipated fates of players in these. There are far more clues pointing to Mabus being the code name of the Antichrist and not his victim.

If anything, I have defended Ray Mabus not having any connection with Nostradamus’ Mabus, ever since he was US Ambassador to Saudi Arabia back in the mid-1990s. Then, as now, emails and letters from people saying, “He’s Mabus for sure,” snowed me under!

I cautioned people not to be too enamored with the obvious when it comes to Nostradamus’ prophecies. That 16th-century prophet of Salon-en-Provence preferred the tricky to the obvious answers clearing cloudy verses.

I have been waiting to see if [Ray Mabus'] will rise through the Obama admin as well. Not because he is a criminal psychopath but rather if he was to be assassinated I’m sure the USA military would collectively go off the deep end as a reaction to such an event, rather than Ray Mabus becoming a Dr Strangelove or antichrist for Pete’s sake. The quatrain suggests nothing more nothing less, don’t you think?

It seems to make sense, your conclusion, that is; however, prophecy can follow illogical lines to fulfillment. I describe in my book a number of angles or traps of interpretation. We interpreters over time have adopted a bad habit of assuming Nostradamus never misread his visions; moreover, that the shadowed way these visions came to him were somehow easy to read. There is enough evidence in the prophecies to illuminate how strange and hard to fathom where the visions delivered in Theurgic rites from emissaries of other planes of existence.

The King of terror fits Bush Jr. to a T, yet many lump this into the antichrist mould as well…. he really gets around this character.

HOGUE
It does in your mind and the minds of many; however, as I explained in the book, if you follow the effrayeur-terror word link down through different quatrains disclosing aspects of the larger Antichrist prophecy, the evidence pulls away from leaders of European stock and points to some Muslim fanatic like Usama bin Laden as Mabus. (Usama = maaus. Replace the redundant ‘a’ with the one missing letter allowed in anagramming and you get “ma(b)us” out of “Usama.”

Sometimes I think we try to bundle too much from abstract verse, condensing what are really separate lines of enquiry from separate quatrains. In the end, the interpretation of the verse can mean all things to all people.

HOGUE
That is true. Nevertheless, one can equally ignore too often the linguistic connections of one quatrain in one Century (volume) to a quatrain in another Century of Nostradamus’ magnum opus Les Propheties (The Prophecies). That is why I took so much care to take readers of my Mabus book down the labyrinthine and slippery path of interpreting Nostradamus’ words. Caution, saddled with regular pauses to reflect upon one’s own projections, is a virtue often lacking in the works of most Nostradamus authors. I can count on only two fingers a few who were mindful of their own projections: Bardo Kidogo and Edgar Leoni. Even a scholar so great as Leoni could fall into making sweeping and even petulant dismissals of the occult aspects of Nostradamus’ language, I think, because he lacked understanding of that important dimension to the prophecies.

One must test all observations and assumptions, purifying them of the dross of our ever unconsciously lurking conceits.

US intelligence up to reports yesterday (Sunday) was 90 percent certain that Mehsud was killed by the missile while he lay on the roof of his father-in-law’s house receiving a lower leg massage to relieve chronic pain from diabetes. Today an intelligence official, unnamed, told CNN that President Obama was briefed that Mehsud’s death was absolutely certain. Press wire services over the weekend describe a power struggle among his Taliban lieutenants is ongoing, though key commanders Hakimullah, Qari Hussain, who is known for training suicide bombers, and Taliban spokesman Maulvi Umar — made calls to AP reporters on Saturday insisting Mehsud survived the US death by drone attempt last Wednesday night.

For now it may be premature to declare Mehsud dead. Still, many of you have rightly asked if he is a candidate for the third and final antichrist foreseen by the 16th-century prophet Nostradamus. Those of you who have read Nostradamus and the Antichrist know that I have been on the prophetic trail as a kind of Sleuth-sayer detective, examining dozens of possible candidates for Antichrist for over 25 years. The hardest part of the case to crack is finding the true name of the Antichrist because it is hidden in an anagram. Nostradamus called his First Antichrist, PAUNAYLORON (an anagram for Napaulon Roy — King Napoleon). The Second Antichrist he code-named Hister (Hitler). In my book I reveal there are currently four contemporary figures that find their names decoding the Mabus enigma: Saddam Hussein, G.W. Bush, Usama bin Laden, and President Barack Obama. As you can imagine — if you are not already getting your buttons pushed — some of these candidates agree with one’s bias whilst others do not. My personal opinions or biases as a scholar of prophecy cannot matter in the court of prescient evidence, so, I must accept that some of you bristle at Bush as much as Obama being on the list. In the end, it may be none of these people. It may be Baitullah Mehsud.

Let us look at his name first, and then review the famous prophecy for clues:

Mehsud, also spelled “Mahsud,” is the phonetic spelling in Roman letters from the Pashtun script. Move the letters and it spells “Mahdus”. Apply Nostradamus’ laws of anagram. You can change any letter into a new letter if it is possible to reverse it or turn it upside down. Thus, “d” becomes “b” to make “Mahbus.” The rules allow you to drop one redundant letter, the “h”, to easily get “Mabus” out of Mahsud.

Now to the prophecy in Century 2 Quatrain 62 of Nostradamus’ Les Propheties:

Mabus puis tost alors mourra, viendra,

De gens & bestes vne horrible defaite:

Puis tout coup la vengeance on verra,

Cent, main, soif, faim, quand courra la comete.

Mabus very soon then will die, [then] will come,

A horrible undoing of people and animals

At once one will se vengeance,

One hundred powers, thirst, famine, when the comet will pass.

Cracking the evidence in the first word of this prophecy is the hardest part: who is Mabus. The rest of the prophetic steps are pretty clear. Mabus, unlike the other two antichrists before him dies at the onset of his evil destiny and his death triggers the terrible undoing of the world of people and animals in a cycle of vengeance, terrorist and counter-terrorist attacks that drag one hundred nations into war. It happens at a time of great global droughts (thirst) and the danger of global famine; or, these are the consequences of the bloody war of post-mortem Mabus.

Climate change is the culprit for many record-breaking droughts across North America, Africa, Southern Europe and Asia. Food reserves are at an all-time low. Human population explodes and the demand to feed nearly 7 billion souls is reaching a critical point beyond which agriculture may no longer sustain us. It would seem that Nostradamus in the final line is talking about our times. The time of the Antichrist.

Being a dead candidate is much more important than being a living one. If Mehsud is actually dead then he joins the other candidate most likely intended by Nostradamus to be Mabus: Saddam Hussein. However, unlike Saddam Hussein, Mehsud may have died on the day of a lunar eclipse, as some of you have pointed out, yet he did not die during the appearance of a great comet. Saddam Hussein is the only candidate thus far who has. He was hanged the day Comet McNaught, the brightest in over sixty years, became visible to the naked eye. Saddam Hussein also fulfilled more of the steps to attain the title Third Antichrist than any other candidate so far. Those of you who have read Nostradamus and the Antichrist, Code Named: MABUS know how I painstakingly came to that conclusion. I hope those of you who have not read it will consider why I conclude that Saddam Hussein so far is the top candidate. Still, there is another possible translation for the comet passing itself off in Nostradamus’ mind as a missile striking Mehsud and his masseuse from a drone plane.

I would speculate that if Mehsud were Mabus then Pakistan would shortly collapse into chaos. There will then be a nuclear war between Pakistan and India. The terrible destruction of people and animals would come to South Asia; the land ancient Indian Hindu myths declare was the birthplace of atomic weapons described in the epic poem, the Mahabharata (The Great Indian War).

We will look at these passages in the future.

PS — From portends of comets to solar eclipses we go. Back in a blog posted on 16 July entitled The Great Eclipse of 2009 and Nostradamus, I said the following, “Caution my occult heart and attend. The passing of the shadow of the 11 August 1999 eclipse could have forewarned of natural and civil upheavals. Is there something portentous overshadowing the economies and seismic regions of the two rising Asian economic superpowers in the months and years after part two of the great Nostradamus eclipse on 21-22 July 2009, if that indeed is what it is?”

On 20 July (Nostradamus and the Apollo Moon Landing), I posted this statement: “See the next economic crisis coming from the places where the shadow had fallen: India, China and Japan. Seismic activity or an intensifying cyclone and typhoon season may be the trigger. It will be natural disaster related.”

The typhoon season is hammering China and Taiwan with the 8th tropical storm assault since May. Today, in the Asian region it is already 11 August, the 10-year anniversary of Nostradamus’ millennium eclipse prophecy. A 7.6 temblor in the Indian Ocean was felt across a wide region including Myanmar (Burma), Thailand and the Indian subcontinent. As I write this, there is a tsunami warning posted for the Indian Ocean. Twelve minutes after the Indian Ocean rumble, a 6.6 quake hit Japan swaying the massive forest of skyscrapers in downtown Tokyo. It would seem the acceleration of seismic and natural disasters my oracle foresaw for Asia for the next few months is on.

Ray Mabus was sworn in yesterday as Secretary of the Navy. This fulfills a prediction I documented last year over a month before the national presidential elections in my digital book, see Antichrist.

There is a whole section about him in the chapter about Barack Obama called “Obama the Mabus.” I stated that Obama would pick Mabus as a member of his cabinet and that it would start doomsday tongues to wag about the return to the Middle East of the man who was Obama’s special advisor to Arab (Islamic) Middle Eastern affairs throughout his presidential campaign.

No one can deny that this former US Naval Officer, Governor of Mississippi and former US Ambassador to Saudi Arabia under President Clinton has the executive experience to be Secretary of the Navy and the hands-on diplomatic skill sets as the highest civilian official steering the US Navy in its chief arena of operations in the years to come. A majority of US Naval assets are patrolling the waters around the Arabian Peninsula either in the Persian Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz, fighting Somali pirates in the Gulf of Oman. There are also warships constantly stationed in waters directly familiar to Mabus during his short naval career in the early 1970s: the Eastern Mediterranean off the coast of Israel, Syria and Lebanon.

If there is a war between Israel and its Arab neighbors, if there is an air strike by Israel to destroy Iran’s nuclear program, if Pakistan collapses, Ray Mabus will have undeniable prophetic significance as the only candidate in my 25 years of search through Nostradamus’ clues for the man who would be Mabus. Indeed, he IS “Mabus” by birth name; however, I still do not believe the obvious is what Nostradamus meant. The name Mabus is a code name.

Whoever Mabus is, his death triggers the events listed in one of Nostradamus’ most apocalyptic prophecies. Ray Mabus just happens to be mentioned outright, either as a cruel coincidence or by the 16th-century seer’s prescient intent.

Century 2 Quatrain 62:

Mabus puis tost alors mourra, viendra,
De gens & bestes vne horrible defaite:
Puis tout  coup la vengeance on verra,
Cent, main, soif, faim, quand courra la comete.

Mabus very soon then will die, [then] will come,
A horrible undoing of people and animals,

Here again is a brief overview about Nostradamus’ three antichrist and a breakdown of this prophecy I wrote back on 1 April in my blog entry entiled “Ray Mabus Upped the Antichrist?”

The person Nostradamus code named “Mabus” is believed to be the third and final man in an evil trinity. The first, code named “PAUNAYLORON.” The second, code named “Hister.” The third is code named “Mabus.”

Antichrist One is “Napoleon King” (PAUNAYLORON = NAPAULON ROY, old French for “Roi” — King).

Antichrist Two is “Hister” (Adolf “Hitler”).

To be beast-bitingly blunt, the above prophecy foretells the death of this “Mabus” triggering the unraveling (defaite) and undoing of humans and animals. That sounds both ecologically and apocalyptically lurid. Not only war but also climate change is inferred. A hundred nations go to war, because main in Old French is a heraldic allusion to the mail fisted right “hand” of state. We are therefore talking about 100 nations in a war of vengeance at once swift and devastating. It could undo the world.

The prophecy ends with the usual apocalyptic sequence Nostradamus used to convey dire times in the early 21st century: fresh water shortages from today’s super-droughts across Australia, the American South and Mediterranean, central Asia and Africa. Food production may not be sustained. Global famine lurks “when the comet will pass” or “run.”

A “comet” plays two roles in Nostradamus: either a falling missile or a portentous comet appearing in the sky in times of the final Antichrist.

[Not only Ray Mabus but his boss, President Obama] is one of four top candidates for Mabus. Mabus working for Obama might be just the kind of double entendre Nostradamus often utilized.

You see, not only does Barack “Obama” translate into “Mabus”:

Obama (phonetically pronounced “ouBama”) = Ubama = maabu = Mabu, etc. Add then the one missing letter by replacing the redundant “a” and you get Mabu(s).

Obama Mabu(s)?

Meet Ray Mabus, your pick for the next Secretary of the Navy.

Other candidates are out there, far more deserving the label “antichrist” than Obama or Ray.

Although there have been some interesting matches for Mabus that in the end did not stand the test of objective events, the coming of Ray Mabus into Obama’s cabinet is at least linguistically interesting. A perfect match, so it would seem.

I personally lean towards Saddam Hussein being Nostradamus’ best candidate for Mabus. I have not come to this conclusion lightly but have produced a digital book on the matter after 21 years on the trail of the Third Antichrist. You can see an overview about the book here: Mabus Obama.

Ray Mabus is not the first man to look like a perfect fit for Nostradamus’ Antichrist. Good leaders as well as evil leaders can also decode the name, such as Obama.

This is the most topical of Nostradamian subjects. It is the prophetic mystery to solve of a detective story where soothsaying becomes “sleuth-saying” taking you through a fascinating labyrinth of possibilities, some of which are coming true in our times.
