Things are not what they seem. There is saber rattling in the Persian Gulf (or what Nostradamus called in his predictions about a future war with Iran, the “Arabian” Gulf). Your corporately funded and controlled mainstream news outlets like to prey on the childishness of the masses. They play our overlording parent waving a saber baby rattle to attract a child’s wondering attention as the nurse, as it were, prepares the painful butt shot.

Watch the rattling saber, my fellow babies. Coo your concern and fatal attraction to a war being pushed upon you with Iran by a military industrial complex that needs to find another market in the highly profitable big business of war armaments and deterrents in the Middle East. The war business lost the Iraq market with the pullout of the US military occupation. Pakistan’s radicalization will soon pinch off the war market in Afghanistan, much sooner than the deadline of 2014, by the way.

The public’s infantile attention is directed elsewhere, away from real dangers lurking in the highly unstable and Islamist-bound regime along the Indus River. Pakistan with its crash program to triple its nuclear weapons stockpile is adding 200 more 25 to 35 kiloton nuclear warheads to its current arsenal of 100 nukes by 2021. The press obsesses on Iran maybe someday building an atomic bomb. Terrorist cells train in Pakistan in the vicinity of 100-plus nuclear warhead stockpiles TODAY. A Pakistani military and government already heavily infiltrated by jihadist sympathizers guard these Islamic A-bombs. The same military and government that often give Afghani Taliban logistical and intelligence support when they attack US and NATO forces occupying Afghanistan.

Iran is years away from having the ability to build atomic weapons. At any moment now, a Pakistani warhead or radioactive materials stockpiled to build hundreds more could be smuggled to the Taliban or what is left of al-Qaeda. The tools of nuclear terrorism can at any moment be smuggled out of Pakistani military bases and handed over to emerging and strengthening organizations like Lashkar-e-Taiba. This Pakistani based jihadist network effectively shot up downtown Mumbai India in November 2008.

Iran may soon become a danger, but Pakistan, right now, IS a danger and its growing instability becomes a more clear and present threat to human peace and stability than what the Iranians may or may not be doing with their nuclear civilian program at this time. I predict it will be proven that Iran is only learning how to make an atomic bomb. They will not actually build them. Israel introduced these awful weapons of mass atomic destruction into the Middle East in the 1960s. They now have an arms race lead of an estimated 80 to 300 warheads. It is impossible to catch up given the scrutiny and economic sanctions placed on Iran.

Rattle, rattle, rattle goes the sword of war in its scabbard, daily and nightly on the 24-hour news cycles of corporately left-leaning CNN to corporately right-leaning Fox News propaganda organs of the politically two-faced aristocracy of our times. The elites do not cite bloodlines as their reason for being the alpha male and female class. They cite bottom lines of immense hoards of corporate wealth and influence over totalitarian and democratic government politicians of our day.

They have an agenda. They want to “inject” something into the backside of the Middle East to control the juice of their affluence, the black blood that runs our civilization: the last location of easy-to-drill petroleum that happens to lie underneath volatile Arab and Persian states. Since 2006 and in my book about war with Iran, I have been writing about a movement masquerading behind the US and Israeli governments that is neo-Imperialist, Neo-Conservative. It has the former deputy Secretary of Defense, Paul Wolfowitz and the former Vice President Dick Cheney as its earliest author and editor of a manifesto first introduced shortly after the end of the Cold War, that strategically planned a new way for American superpower to remain relevant after the Soviet Union’s collapse. In short, America with help or unilaterally must take down the rogue regimes of Saddam Hussein’s Iraq and the Islamic Revolutionary regime of Iran so that oil can run free and fully under the sphere of influence of the United States. If war and occupation must happen in Iraq and Iran, then so be it. As I listed in a recent article Israel Iran Strike, the Wolf, his Dick and many other leading figures in the Neo-Conservative movement crowded the G.W. Bush administration’s cabinet. They successfully pushed the US Congress in October of 2002 to grant war powers to the president based on a lot of saber rattling and no solid evidence that Saddam Hussein had a stockpile of weapons of mass destruction that was an imminent threat to the United States. All complete and hyperbolic BS, as it turned out, but it got the Neo-Conservatives half way to their goal, even though it did not get them the oil because the Bush administration proved to be a bungling gaggle of faux Imperialists. Saddam’s Iraq went down. Iran, you are next.

I have also been at pains to forewarn my readers that this cabal of Neo-Cons marries right wing corporate interests in the US to Zionist supremacists in Israel, which would have the US expend its treasure and its blood to fulfill the foreign policies of Israel. This has become an absurdist turn of events where the proxies control the superpower. I understand why Israel might seek to manipulate a friend and military giant to wage its wars and aggressive foreign policies in a region hostile to its existence. I understand why Iran might want to know how to build an atomic bomb when hundreds of Israeli warheads are pointed at its people, which an any point might be unleashed.

What you, my readers, need to understand is that Iran’s oil reserves are dwindling. Teheran plans in the next few decades to build 15 nuclear plants because the next generation of Iranians will need a new industry beyond the fading oil export industry, and a new source of electricity and power to generate it. Iran MUST go ahead with its nuclear program for its economic survival and the only way it can pay for it is to export oil while there is still oil to ship out through the Strait of Hormuz.

Cut its ability to export and you have cut Iran’s economic future below the knees. When you shut a country’s economy down and stop talking to them, you leave that country only a military option. More on that a little later.

Know this also, that Iran seeks like any other signatory of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, the knowledge to build atomic weapons.

Did we sanction Taiwan, South Korea, or Japan decades before when they tested and acquired the know-how to build atomic weapons, just in case a nuclear power like Communist China might threaten?

The saber rattles and rattles your attention away from the hypocrisies and big business oil and big business military players behind the facades of President Bush, President Obama and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu.

The war market is in a crisis. The infernal shop of conflict is closing for the moment in Iraq and in Afghanistan soon. There is ever less reason out there for US taxpayers to bankroll this capitalist welfare program that fields a Cold War sized Imperial US armed force after strategic threats requiring such a behemoth had vanished with the Cold War over 20 years ago. Global economic pressures also push America to downsize its stupendous military might. It is ten times more powerful than any armed force that could vaguely threaten. Now that Saddam is gone, the big boots of a Soviet sized bogeyman look even more ridiculous if you try to shove them on little, rat faced Iranian President Ahmadinejad’s feet.

A resumption of a global cold war with the Soviet replacement, the Russian Federation, is unlikely for now, so big war businessmen must seek a regional cold war business model. Iran is perfect for this. The military industrialists would prefer containing Iran for decades rather than a short sharp and messy conflict. The Cold War between the US and Soviet Union cost relatively few American lives, compared to the First and Second World Wars but made contractors in the Military Industrial Complex insanely rich off taxpayer’s dollars just preparing for, but not actually waging, doomsday. The same set up is happening in the Persian Gulf Cold War starting in 2012. Huge defense spending contracts and orders are already going through, soon to rebuild and reboot the air forces and missile defense systems of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf States with the most modern and most pricey US weaponry on the market.

The more moderate puppet masters competing to pull the strings of the current US president and Israeli Prime Minister would seek to postpone a major war with Iran. Building and sustaining military deterrents is much more war profitable. At least postpone until the middle of the decade at the earliest because fantastic profits are theirs for the taking in a ramp up of Saudi and Gulf State rearmament for the next four years.

There is at the moment a more impatient set of polemical puppet masters of the Neo-Con-cum-Zionist faction of the military industrial complex that want to give Iran what I would call the “Japanese Ultimatum” – the no choice but war option. They know they cannot stop Iran from exploring nuclear weapons unless they can somehow push Teheran out of its passive aggressive foreign policy game into some precipitous action. All the last attempts during the Bush administration since 2005 through 2008 to create a military incident in the Strait of Hormuz in which most of the oil shipped by sea to the world passes failed because the Iranians did not take the provocative bait. They have not taken the bait in a clandestine war the US started waging inside Iran since 2005. Terrorists the US supports are available for weapons and bomb training in a number of non-Persian ethnic populations in Iran. The CIA and Israeli Mossad secret services have trained these to blow up hundreds of people in bombed planes, squares and mosques across Iran since 2005.

Your corporate Western media does not want you to know that.

The serial assassination of nearly a half dozen nuclear physicists and scientists of late is just an escalation of this secret war of terrorism waged against Iranians by Israeli and CIA operatives.

Oh! I’m sorry. These roadside bombers aren’t terrorists. If the good guys blow women and children up with car bombs in crowded streets of Iran, they are “freedom fighters.”

Now, to be fair, Iran’s government is getting its own back. They wage clandestine war against Israel ever since this secret war started, using the proxies of Hezbollah and have sent military trainers by the hundreds to teach Hezbollah terrorists how to launch imported Iranian rockets falling on innocent Israeli civilians. A large part of the 5,000 US and Coalition soldiers killed in Iraq and to some extent Afghanistan were fatally maimed by an ever more deadly evolution of Iranian manufactured roadside bombs.

The Iranian-US-Israeli regional Cold War has been on since 2005, yet in 2012, it could go potentially hot, like the global cold war between the US and the Soviet Union almost did during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Especially now that the Neo-Cons are doing everything they can through the media and through political pressure in the US to push upon Obama the “Japanese Ultimatum” against Iran.

In late 2011, the US Senate voted unanimously to enact a regimen of sanctions handed to President Obama that would cripple Iran’s one economic lifeline, its oil exports. Obama would prefer to push the Iranians in increments, but forces pulling the strings and holding the financial purses of Democratic and Republican puppets in the Senate have pressed for an escalation that will, if successful, end all political support for a negotiated solution in Iran.

General Hideki Tojo became Japan's Prime Minister in 1941 when US ultimatums and a US embargo of steel and petroleum exports silenced doves and diplomats in the Japanese cabinet. Tojo sanctioned the surprise attack on the US Pacific Fleet at Peal Harbor.

It is kind of a reverse image of what happened to Imperial Japan just before they went to war with the US in 1941. The expansion, indeed the survival, of the Japanese Empire depended on foreign exports of steel and oil to fuel and arm its military. Most of these exports came from America. When President Franklin D. Roosevelt put an embargo on all oil and steel exports to Japan, he forced the diplomats out of power in Tokyo. War hawk officers filled the void in the Japanese Cabinet of Emperor Hirohito. Negotiations had turned to ultimatums from America to get out of Indo-China and China. In less than a year, Japan’s military machine would cease to work. No country with a war machine and Imperial intentions, be they Japan in the 1940s or Neo-Conned America in the 21st century, will let their forces run out of steel and fuel. War was the only option Japan had. They attacked Pearl Harbor in 1941 to destroy the US Pacific Fleet so their own fleet and army could conquer the oil fields of Indonesia without US threat.

History past becomes history future, relatively easy to forecast, because people keep conditioning their new generations to repeat the same stupid mistakes. All the elements of the Japan Ultimatum are in this Iran Ultimatum passed by the US Senate. Oil is again the catalyst for war, only this time it is not oil denied to Iran’s domestic industries and military forces. Iranian oil exports will be severely restrained “from” Iran.

Rather than aid a negotiated settlement, like with Japan, the cynical intention of these sanctions is to flush out any remaining doves from the Iranian government, which has already become more militarized and dominated by its own General Hideki Tojos, the officers of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards. If you want to force the hand of war, push sanctions that are impossible to economically survive. Threaten a nation’s economic existence.

There is another objective, more cynical and dreadful happening here and Iran is only the bait, not the target. The target is a slow but fragile recovery of the US economy during a presidential election year. There are well-financially-healed oligarchic forces in the world influencing American politics that could easily absorb a temporary financial hit in 2012 if it takes down the Obama administration and what is left of the toe hold the Democrats have in the US Senate.

The creeping coup of a corporate aristocracy had already conquered the US Supreme Court in 2010 and received their “equal citizen status” allowing an empowered plutocracy to flood money and influence to decide the US elections according to what their money can buy and what you human citizens of America cannot lobby and possibly match fund.

The real reason why a push for war with Iran goes on whilst the real danger of nuclear terrorist proliferation remains unaddressed in Pakistan, is to create a false flag crisis in the Persian Gulf that disrupts oil flow out of the Strait of Hormuz. Pakistan needs to go radical so the same Neo-Cons who looked the other way to let 9-11 terror attacks on America happen, can yet again resurrect a jihadist bogeyman that will require decades of deterrent military spending.

But I get ahead of myself. First, false flag a conflict with Iran in 2012. The Strait of Hormuz is closed to oil traffic. The skyrocketing oil prices will then temporarily push the US economy back into a recession. The economic downturn will be blamed on President Obama. A little war of gunboats in the Strait of Hormuz might just tip the economy back into 10 percent unemployment and convince enough voters that Obama and the Democrats controlling the Senate need to be flushed out with their votes in November 2012. A far more big business friendly Republican president and Congress in Washington would lead to a speedier dismantling of the US democracy in the name of smaller government.

Nevertheless, I believe this attempt by corporate forces will not be successful. The president will use his discretion in 2012 to attempt measured application of the Iranian sanctions. There may be a military incident in the Strait of Hormuz no later than June through August 2012. Even if there was a brief naval skirmish in 2012, it is only preliminary to the ultimate military showdown Nostradamus’ astrology seems to frame for the years 2015 and 2016.

Babies are easily distracted. The saber’s rattle of corporate interests might backfire when a baby’s attention catches upon something else that is bright and shiny, like a diplomatic breakthrough that only the threat of war might propel in the 11th hour concession from Teheran. Iran may take the enemy away from the military industrial complex pushers and surrender their nuclear weapon aspirations in 2012; or, at least achieve gaining some time in that tried and true Iranian tradition of diplomatic stalling.

Iran is a country that knows how to buy time. It has lasted for 3,000 years. However, if real diplomatic breakthroughs are not forthcoming in 2012, Iran is only buying time up to 2015 or 2016 when a terrible war showdown will come out of its skies and melt its fleets of motorboats in the Persian Gulf. Another fleet might be melted and sunk as well. Nostradamus leaves that potential open.

A conflict between Iranians and Western forces was certainly foretold in one of Nostradamus’ prophecies where he named the Strait of Hormuz outright by the name it held during the 16th century. We will examine the prophecy in my next article.

US Neo-Cons cackle and Israeli sabers rattle to the Netanyahu government drum beat for an imminent attack on Iran. The papers, like the Daily Telegraph in the UK pontificate bellicose bets on the Netanyahu government blasting of Iranian nuclear facilities before Christmas. Israel is a regional nuclear power quite capable and willing to preempt an end to an enemy’s infant nuclear program. They have done it before. Israel took out Saddam Hussein’s nuclear aspirations in a breathtaking, surprise attack. I wrote the following passage about it for my book Nostradamus: The War with Iran:

It was upon a lazy, sun basted late afternoon, a slow day, a Sunday, June 1981, that a skeleton crew of drowsy Iraqi security guards at Saddam Hussein’s Osirak Nuclear Reactor station a few miles north of Baghdad, might feel the first stirring of furnace desert air murmuring reports of distant thunders out of the West. It is not known if any guards or heat lulled crews of SAM missile or Triple-A anti-aircraft batteries dotting Osirak cared to look up and singe their retinas gazing past the late afternoon sun’s glare at its source. Anyway, it was the first year of the Iran-Iraq War. Air attacks came from the east. Radar officers phoned in no report. Somebody forgot to switch on the radars that day. If the Iraqi guards and gunners had turned around and faced the late afternoon glare they might have seen glinting spear points without misty shafts of contrails rise to 7,000 feet and suddenly bear down, quickening upon them, shot forward by jet engines at an attack speed of 600 knots.

It was at that moment that [Israeli Air Force] pilots began their attack run and beheld the stout, circular domed mass [of the French built Osirak nuclear reactor]…One F-16 after another swooped down on the undefended bulk… each releasing their two 2,000 pound Mark-84 Time-Delayed bombs at five-second intervals. [Osirak] shuttered and fell in on itself devoured in the mouth of great and thundering fireballs. Ten Iraqi guards and one attending French nuclear scientist shared the immolation. [The] Israeli force climbed unscathed and quickly to 40,000 feet heading west beyond the reach of uncoordinated salvos of Iraqi anti-aircraft fire lashing the empty sky with wildly whipping tracer lines of beaded flame.

Chapter Two: A RAYPOZ to Reflect

What is missing in the current threat of “imminent” attack by Israel? Something as loudly silent as can be amidst all the US NeoCon-niption fits to holler for war because of a yellow-caked up claim reminiscent of a false flag of threat that hoodwinked an American congress and people to invade Iraq that Iran tried to assassinate the Saudi Arabian ambassador in Washington DC.

What is missing is not only loud with silence. The obvious is as absent as the empty sky widely filmed and Western-press promoted the other week as backdrop to a test firing of an Israeli regional ballistic missile. The hallow of the obvious reverberated with IAF aircraft on training bomb runs for Iran over the Mediterranean. The missing reality is something pushed against the wall and occulted by Netanyahu masquerading as the regional Winston Churchill of his day, trying to forestall the rise of Adolf Ahmadinejad Hitlerian Iran with the din of preemptive strike threats. The ballistic missile and bunker busting bluster is thick and Gafilta-fishy to those who can see what is missing in this most recently promoted picture of imminent war. If you can see what is glaringly missing then you, like me, will know exactly why there will be absolutely no attack on Iran come Christmas or any time soon.

What is missing is surprise.

The day Israel strikes Iran, the world will be caught completely off-guard be it months or several years from now.

It might happen when certain astrological windows for war open, as foreseen by Nostradamus, in 2015 and 2016, when he says, “Saturn and Mars are equally fiery.” In layman’s terms, war would suddenly erupt when the planet of the grim reaper of bad karma and the planet of war are both in fire signs, or better, in the same fire sign.

Century 4 Quatrain 67 reads:

L’an que Saturne & Mars esgaux combust,
L’air fort seiché, longue traiection:
Par feux secrets, d’ardeur grand lieu adust
Peu pluye, vent chault, guerres, incursions.

In the Year Saturn and Mars are equally fiery,
The air is very dry, a long comet:
From hidden fires a great place burns with heat,
Little rain, hot wind, wars and raids.

Nostradamus’ vision of a war against Persia (Iran) might envision a comet-like missile fall out of the dry desert skies. A time when great droughts speed the desertification of the Middle Eastern and Central Asian lands. The hidden fires of radiological isotopes for building atomic bombs secreted away in hidden Iranian installations suddenly burn with missile-issued heat lighting up the next great Persian Gulf War and subsequent Iranian terrorist reprisal raids on Israeli and American targets worldwide.

If this quatrain is indeed a vision of the long threatened and long awaited Israeli attack on Iran, there will be no bluster, no threats, no warning. Like the attack on Osirak, it will come with stealth penetrating Iran’s heavily defended airspace with no advanced, chest thumped out warning, like that that bellows from Netanyahu today.

If Nostradamus’ astrology in the future is forecasting the time of a complete surprise attack, it could initially happen around February and March of 2015 when Mars (god of war) is in Aries (the war sign) and Saturn (karmic black as an Ayatollah’s turban) is in the sign of the missile firing archer (Sagittarius). Otherwise, it happens sometime around September through October of 2016 when both planets of war and karmic retribution are in Sagittarius.

What is really going on these days behind all this smoke without a gun of “exposed” Iran plots? Yes, we hear of rumors of war as Christ would say, about a plot foiled to assassinate the Saudi Ambassador in the heart of Washington DC by Iranian-American operatives working with the Iranian Revolutionary Guards in Teheran. Where is the hard evidence? Is this going to become a lot of “Hebrew said Shia said” about the improvable?”

Give the world a Cuban Missile Crisis moment, Mr. Netanyahu. Adonai up your Adlai Stevenson at the UN and pull out poster sized photos of  Soviet missiles in Cuba. Let unquestionable evidence place Iranian-American cells in cahoots with Teheran run Revolutionary Guard leaders before you bluster bombing Iranian nuclear installations, irradiating millions.

Where there is smoke there is not always “fire”. Rather, there is a smoke screen for the real target of Israeli threats. There is a shield of myth making. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu is presuming that he is Winston Churchill threatening to preempt the Iranian Hitler Regime, but I see someone else imitated for a completely different goal.

Netanyahu is playing Kim Jong Il’s game of war bluff.

The North Korean dictator repeatedly threatens to expand his nuclear weapons program. He test fires his scud missiles. He torpedoes South Korean naval corvettes and fires a few hundred artillery shells at South Korean fishing villages. Heck, he even may have enacted underground tests of a crude nuke from time to time, just to scare everyone outside of North Korea into thinking he has at last lost his marbles. Kim Jong’s mental illness may let slip a million man army on a suicidal offensive stampeding into South Korea to resume a war that has been on hold since an uneasy armistice signed by North Korea with the US and United Nations forces protecting South Korea since 1953.

Once Kim has scared the kimchee out of everyone in the Northwestern Pacific region, Kim backs off into silence. The No Dong scud missiles are zipped up and put away in their bunkers. A Pyongyang peace offering ensues. The K.J. Il tantrum is eventually followed by a quiet time out and the offering to negotiate a reduction of his nuclear armaments. This tantrum and talk game sometimes gets concessions like food aid for his starving people, etc., better cognac at $300.00 a bottle for the “Dear” Dr. Evil “Leader”.

This game of mad man bluff really works! Other leaders are learning the Kim Jong mental illness ploy.

Netanyahu is not bombing Iran right now or any time soon. He is targeting his allies with the threat of the unthinkable: a war with Iran. It would collapse the oil market. It would send the world into a depression and piss off one out of six human beings who happen to be Muslim into sending their sons to join a jihad against the West. Thousands of Iranians killed and irradiated from reactor meltdowns stemming from a brazenly aggressive surprise jet and missile barrage of the Israeli Air Force on Iran would be the catalyst.

Unless Netanyahu “hasn’t” actually gone as goofy as Kim Jong Il pretends, his goal with all this apocalyptic war talk is a new regimen of crushing economic sanctions from the world community that will financially hobble Iran from continuing its presumed nuclear weapons program.

Netanyahu knows, as I know and have been predicting for years, that sanctions can eventually work to end nuclear weapons proliferation in Iran. Sanctions might even take down the Iranian regime. Ahmadinejad’s government cannot long politically survive a few more years of economic hardship because of sanctions already in place.

Netanyahu wants to increase the pain. Ahmadinejad actually needs Israel to strike Iran so he can unite his people. The last thing Netanyahu wants is handing Ahmadinejad and Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, a cause rallying their people to a fever pitch of patriotic blindness and thus help them forget their economic woes and growing differences with the Islamic fundamentalist regime.

I predict this war with Iran is not imminent.

What if I am wrong, you ask?

If I were misreading the men and their signs in prophecy, if a war was to happen now or early next year, it would be a political and military disaster for Israel. It would be an economic disaster for the world, especially for the United States, their most powerful ally. A global call for sanctions on Israel might follow and the US might let it happen if unilateral Israeli attacks on Iran sabotaged the global economic recovery.

What profit would Israel gain?

Israel's nuclear option is called the "Samson Option" after the biblical Hebrew leader, Samson. He was blinded and put on show in the Philistine palace. Called upon Yehovah to give him one last blast of strength to push out the pillars and bring the palace down taking the Philistine royalty with him in an act of Kosher Kamikaze. If Israel's existence is truly threatened, it will use its 200 atomic weapons to take down its enemies.

The damage done to the Iranian nuclear aspirations would only delay the program’s progress for two years. If Iran had no aspirations before the attack to actually “make” a bomb – just to know how to make them if necessary – they will definitely seek nuclear war capability the second Israeli warheads bunker bust the first Iranian underground uranium processing factory before this Christmas Eve or early in 2012. Two years later, Iran would have atomic bombs by 2014 — a year before Nostradamus’ first of two astrological time windows for war: in 2015 and 2016.

Between now and 2014, harder economic sanctions will do more to end the threat of Iranian jihadist nuclear aspirations and not Israeli missiles falling out of the skies to set alight “hidden fires” burning with high explosive, then radioactive, then politically suicidal “heat”.

My article postings are only coming once a week because I am currently writing on average 4,500 words a day in a kind of writer’s “blitzkrieg” to get this new almanac of prophecies into the world for release in December. In the chapter entitled “Hot Crises in a Cold Depression”, I will expand on the theme of war with Iran being imminent and explain how though it seems war is almost inevitable I do not think it is likely next year for reasons I will explain in detail in the new book. What is planned for 2012 is a rearranging of US, NATO and Gulf Arab armed forces that will rename the “Persian” Gulf into the “Arabian Gulf” as Nostradamus foresaw it would be called when his foreseen war is presciently scheduled to erupt in 2015-2016.

Black fire flashing in his eyes, President Obama late night addressed his nation and confirmed in action what my oracle had foreseen and anticipated 21 months ago, even though it long remained a lone prescient voice in a wilderness of future gazers who just did not believe Obama meant what he said. Well, he does mean what he said about withdrawing US troops from Afghanistan, starting next month, July 2011 and by the time July 2012 comes around he pledged that 33,000 US soldiers will leave Afghanistan. My oracle believes that number will be far higher as we will see.

“Appearing during all 4 hours of the show, prophecy scholar and expert on Nostradamus, John Hogue discussed his predictions for 2009, the future of the economy and the Obama presidency, and also touched on Nostradamus’ writings about the Antichrist. In reviewing some of his previously published predictions for 2009, Hogue reported that he’d been accurate about foreseeing Obama handling three international crises by the early spring, and that the new Republican Party chairman would be an African American.

“Obama will be a two-term president, but he won’t come into his own until his second term, when he’ll evolve from being an agent of compromise to fighting to change the system, Hogue stated… The war in Afghanistan will turn into a quagmire, like Iraq was to the Bush administration, and the US will disengage from the conflict sometime between 2010 – 2013, he predicted.

ASSESSMENT
If you link to that archived show you will hear me tell George Noory that Obama would initiate a troop surge of 40,000 soldiers but he would put an 18 month deadline on the troop surge and begin pulling US forces out of Afghanistan. It is important to remember that when I said this in early September 2009, Obama was months away from deciding on the troop surge. There was no talk of a deadline until he later announced his plans in December of 2009 to put an 18-month deadline on the surge securing Afghanistan amounting to an added 33,000 US and 8,000 NATO troops (40,000 in all).

In a blog posted 8 October 2009, click on Afghanistan War, I made the following observation based on a prediction signed off nearly 9 months earlier on 24 January 2009, see italics:

The future historians will tell you what I say now: America lost the war in Afghanistan at the Battle of Tora Bora. If Obama is seduced into thinking by a blast of CEOs-in brass at the Pentagon that he can win what was lost by digging in deeper into that broken chaos of a corruptly ungovernable country, he will fulfill my warning passed for the prophetic record in Predictions for 2009 [published on 24 January 2009]:

I see in Obama a Kennedy-like obsession about going into Afghanistan and perhaps even Pakistan to hunt down Usama bin Laden…

Is that sign of blunder coming to test Obama’s first year in office?

Yes! Mars passes through Cancer from 8/26/09 to 10/17/09.

We wait to see if Obama will Kennedy or L. B. Johnson himself into his own ill-aspected Mars in Cancer Vietnam. (The Gulf of Tonkin Incident in 1964 under Johnson’s watch, which became grounds for the Vietnam War, happened under the same [astrological] aspect.) The other recourse is to ignore the rush of war and visualize Obama begin a methodical strategic retreat that will see US involvement in Afghanistan all but end in the next three years.

I am of the oracular mind that Obama will dramatically increase US military involvement for a time much shorter than the Pentagon chiefs want in hopes of dramatically seeking out and destroying al-Qaeda, even though it is no longer strategically significant and could very well be the cause of the collapse of Pakistan as I warned in Predictions for 2009.

ASSESSMENT
Obama did make his momentous decision to surge troops into Afghanistan during the Mars in Cancer transit; however, he is on record being mindful of the mistakes of Johnson in Vietnam and has said he would not keep US forces trapped in a strategically untenable situation. Though most news network talking expert heads dismissed this possibility for the next 18 months of a serious withdrawal, my oracle did not.

The oracle’s views were reflected in prophecies for 2010 signed off on 1 November 2009:

Afghanistan under Obama is little different in popular opinion than Afghanistan under eight years of Bush indecision. The country wants the troops home, however Obama seems poised to listen to the brass and bemedaled Pentagon CEOs of the military industrial complex who want to keep the war business there going on. He’s sending a lot more troops soon, unless I’ve happily misread my oracle.

Predictions for 2010

ASSESSMENT
A month later, on 2 December 2009, Obama announced his troop surge in Afghanistan in a speech held at the US Military Academy at West Point. In the next passage my oracle anticipated in detail the surge, the number of NATO and US troops in the surge, the record combat casualties to come in 2010, the bloodiest losses in the war so far, and the timeline for surge troop withdrawals to begin 18 months later (July 2011):

When Obama reads about the mistakes of Vietnam he should avoid turning Afghanistan into his own “Vietnamistan” by enabling what President Kennedy planned but Vice President Johnson ignored. Kennedy had the intestinal and strategic fortitude to plan a withdrawal from South Vietnam and cut US losses early in his second term. Assassination and Johnson’s ascent to the presidency ended that plan. Johnson poured in more troops and there we have his cautionary tale. If Obama isn’t careful, all of his good will, political capital and dreams of changing America will be squandered in an obsession of deeper involvement in Afghanistan. Obama’s change revolution undermined just like Johnson’s Great Society.

Beware of it in 2010 Mr. Obama because I know you will raise US troop involvement in Afghanistan to its highest level. You will endure tolls of American dead and wounded per month as high as the Iraq Occupation at its peak. I also discern with oracular help that you have bargained with the Pentagon to affect a compromise strategy. The generals prevailed upon you to receive their 40,000-troop increase, but you will counter putting the surge on a short time leash of 18 months. If Afghani urban civilian populations aren’t protected and their infrastructure improved, if the endemic corruption of Afghani government isn’t hosed down to a tolerable stink. If moderate Taliban supporters don’t have a “Taliban awakening” akin to the Sunni awakening, the true source of the Iraqi Surge success, if Taliban and al-Qaeda bases aren’t closed and cratered by the Pakistanis, then President Obama, you will pull all US troops out of Afghanistan in time for the 2012 presidential elections

ASSESSMENT
The final lines above give glimpse to the future after July 2011. At the time of this assessment (23 June 2011), there are hopeful signs of negotiations between the warring Pashtun factions: the Karzai Regime US forces prop up talking with elements of the Taliban insurgency leadership. I do foresee a political solution coming in the wake of troop withdrawals that will precipitate more troops leaving Afghanistan than announced yesterday by President Obama in his current time table: 10,000 by autumn 2011 followed by another 22,000 by Summer 2012. My oracle commented on this possibility while enlarging its vision when I signed off on the following prophecies for 2011 on 21 December 2010:

21 December 2010:
Obama will make 2011 the year of “terrible twos” for his liberal and antiwar base. He’ll try to win Republican favor by extending the Bush tax cuts another two years. He will announce that the deadline to begin combat troop withdrawal in Afghanistan set for July 2011 will be pushed back two years. A date for ending the war pushed two years after that to 2014.

(Let me state for the premonitory record: this isn’t what will really happen. These pledges of intent by the president are “just words”. He will begin the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan in July 2011. Moreover, Iraq will be emptied of all but around 15,000 military advisors by the end of 2011.)

…What will happen in Afghanistan in 2011?

I’ve predicted for a while now that tribal solutions between Taliban and Hamid Karzai-leaning Pashtuns is the only potentially positive solution. Obama will bust a Nixon-in-Vietnam move. He’ll cut losses declaring “Peace with Honor”. The Pashtuns will then bring back what was once called the “national covenant” that had ended with the deposing of the Afghan king by Soviet forces invading Afghanistan in 1979. The covenant will return by 2012 as a frail political creature, a loose association of tribal leaders ruling like warlords and mafia bosses in a patchwork kingdom with a weak federal center, granting strong autonomy to tribal warlords.

I will close this review of prophetic successes with a review of my interpretation of a Nostradamus prophecy about the advent of a “Black King” who I believed is America’s first African American President destined to take troops into Pakistan and kill a top candidate for Nostradamus’ third Antichrist, Osama bin Laden. The segment is from Nostradamus and the Antichrist Code Named: Mabus (see the e-book, click on Nostradamus). This passage is one of the earliest oracular assessments I recorded about a game-changing event in the Afghanistan conflict, the killing of Usama bin Laden on the ground in Pakistan by US Special Forces. I wrote this in the summer of 2008 publishing it at the end of September 2008. Note the passage in red:

A right interpretation depends on divining who is the subject of these vague third person personal and possessive pronouns. Play with it in French and the anagram Alus sanguinaire (Bloody Alus) becomes L’USA sanguinere (the bloody USA). Le noir (the black) may be an anagram for le roi n(oir): “the black king.” Earlier interpretations had a black robed Shia cleric of Iran or Iraq who makes the angry one, such as Saddam Hussein, repent; however, if this applies literally to an African American future president, then it might describe Barack Obama’s Iraq policy in future action.

The Greek Meso (between) potamia (two rivers) is Iraq geographically defined as the land between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers. This round of interpretation presumes President Bush the angry one made to repent his invasion of Iraq by Obama who pulls out combat troops in the first 16 months of his presidency. Another candidate for angry one is Usama bin Laden who will repent ordering al-Qaeda to infiltrate Iraq during the Bush administration. The Black president (king) will increase US forces in Afghanistan, killing or capturing Usama in a military incursion into Pakistan

History quickens again, especially in natural disasters. In the year of the 12 great catastrophes — one at least per month — it is hard to decide which historic event will win this dubious sweepstakes in June. Will it be the Arizona Wallow Fire, the state’s greatest fire in recorded history? Should we consider the “fire in the skies” of prolonged record-breaking heat waves across much of the southern and eastern portions of America? The 12,000 people of Minot, North Dakota, who must evacuate their flooding city? Shall we give the reward to the great volcanic eruption two weeks ago of Puyehue, the Chilean volcano, now sending an ash cloud a second time around the Southern Hemisphere disrupting flights in and out of Australia and New Zealand and covering wide areas of Chile and Argentina in ash?

Muhammar Gaddafi.

This week NATO air strikes targeting Libyan dictator Muhammar Gaddafi’s command and control centers and other military assets accelerated to their highest intensity. Across Tripoli on Tuesday (7 June 2011), one heard over 60 explosions of NATO’s missile driven ordinance shot out of the sky. One witnessed the surreal sight of rush hour traffic nonchalantly driving to and fro down a sprawling Tripolitanian boulevard while not far beyond a wall of bleached white tenements and palms erupted one hammer falling explosive plume after another warhead piled on to craters out of targets within Gaddafi’s compound.

The following day a defiant Gaddafi resurfaced. Not on film and not sneaking into a press conference held at the international hotel where most Western and European journalist camp out, thus making it off limits for NATO attack. After the bombardment of Tuesday, Gaddafi, constantly now on the run, could only sneak out an audio taped message, that he would never leave Libya and would fight to the death. Like Osama (pronounced Usama) bin Laden, here will be yet another a terrorist leader in hiding, reduced to making audio taped messages before his hideout will be hit and perhaps soon.

There may be some prophetic parallels tying the death of Usama bin Laden to that coming for Gaddafi. The death of Osama refreshes a look at Nostradamus’ riddles about a “religion named after the oceans” and how that might tie the near future fate of Gaddafi to the recent death and burial of Usama bin Laden.

Here again is a quick review of the Nostradamus quatrains attributed to Gaddafi (You can read a full account in the following articles by clicking on Qaddafi, also Gaddafi and Khadafi:

He will seize the greatest part of the army:

Lines 1 and 3 give us Gaddafi’s background. He was a young colonel in charge of the coup d’etat that deposed King Idris of Libya in 1969. Gaddafi has been Libya’s dictator ever since because he moved against his prince, King Idris, on a false invention of an oath of loyalty to the throne.

Line 2 is a compound prophecy. Colonel Gaddafi did seize the greatest part of the officer corps and army who stood against Idris. The same is true in the current Libyan Civil War. Eastern Libya broke away, yet the dictator had made contingencies for such a split and ensured he retained control of most of the Libyan armed forces including their best military equipment and tanks. One need only see the Mad-Max, Road Warrior quality of the rag-tag forces of the rebels in their rusty trucks and cast off weapons to understand how carefully Gaddafi hoarded his military assets in case Libya’s ancient potential to divide between Tripolitanian (West) and Cyrenaican (Eastern) Libyans should require a bloody invasion of Eastern Libya. Before King Idris stepped down from his throne with the prod of an AK-47, he was compelled to rule a desert country with two capitals in Tripoli and Benghazi. Gaddafi put an end to that for 42 years. Now the historic divisions arise again. I predict the death of Gaddafi, and the scattering of his regime will do little to unite the country in this civil war’s bloody aftermath.

Line 4 gives up a glimpse of Gaddafi’s future. The French ramée is a riddle for branches or green bows, a green arbor that by extension can be a clue to Gaddafi’s favorite domicile, a green Bedouin tent supported by tent post “branches.” In an earlier blog (see Libyan rebels), I eluded to a possible last minute exile of Gaddafi to the green-bowered tropical habitat of Venezuela, under the protection of another Dictator, Hugo Chavez.

I am more inclined to prophesy Gaddafi’s “discovery” will be by the electronic eye of a NATO missile shot from 15,000 feet in the sky. Its shockwave at Mack 3 flinging open the green tent flap in a split second to “District 9” blood vaporize him into the next world. Perhaps the branch suspends the all-green flag of Gaddafi’s regime next to the place in which strongman dies under a falling burial mound of bunker debris.

The next quatrain in the light of the death of the Dean of al-Qaeda terrorism, Usama bin Laden, may link him to Gaddafi’s near future end. Nostradamus often threw in a seemingly unrelated theme in a prophecy as a dating backing up a verse’s main theme. For instance, in his famous King of Terror prophecy believed to date the 9/11 attacks of Usama bin Laden upon New York City’s “hollow mountains” of the World Trade Center (sometime between 1999-2001), Nostradamus throws in an unrelated line about the resurrection of the “Great Mongol.” He defines China with 16th-century poetic license. A future Chinese empire compared to that Middle Kingdom once ruled by Mongol Emperors Genghis and later Kublai Khan from the 13th century.

Indeed, China began emerging as a world power at the turn of the century, around the time of the 9-11 attacks on New York.

Seemingly unrelated data in prophecy framing time captures the event window of the Adaluncatif prophecy attributed to the future of Gaddafi:

In past interpretations I factored line 1 to be another outside event used to date the main theme. The new religion named after the oceans was that of “Osho” (meaning oceanic). When Ronald Reagan sent US 111-bomber jets to paste Gaddafi’s compound in early 1986, Osho was being thrown out of 21 countries by US-CIA pressure during his world tour. Moreover, Gaddafi’s half-destroyed bedroom became until recently a shrine to his survival from the US attack.

You may have seen Gaddafi make speeches standing at a podium before the shattered façade of his bedroom in the early stages of the current civil war, before it was pulverized. Photographs of his bedroom shrine showed it sealed by glass left untouched since March 1986. The blast dust and debris covered the bedspread. Behind the bed was a panoramic shot of a beach with limestone rocks sculpted by ocean breakers rolling out of an endless (oceanic?) horizon of sea.

No doubt followers of Osho believe and perhaps rightfully that their master’s teaching has overcome the poisoning of their master and persecution of his people during the Reagan Era.

Nostradamus might intend another possible solution to line 1′s riddle — one more contemporary. US Navy Seals raided and killed Usama bin Laden on 1 May 2011 in his fortress compound hideaway in Abbottabad, Pakistan, carrying the corpse via stealth helicopter over the Hindu Kush mountains to a US air base in Afghanistan. From there the cadaver was genetically identified and flown out over the Arabian Sea, transported to the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson where according to Islamic law it was bathed and wrapped in a white funerary shroud for burial at sea.

“The Religion named after the oceans will overcome,” says Nostradamus. Usama was buried in the ocean, by Christian-dominated US armed forces, that in other prophecies Nostradamus calls modern crusaders (just like Usama called them “crusaders”), after they invaded and occupied a region in the Middle East never occupied by Medieval Crusaders — Mesopotamia (modern day Iraq).

In other Nostradamus prophecies related to contemporary events in the war on terror, he alludes to Middle Eastern leaders fearing the military power coming from the sea or ocean as the source of downfall — death.

US Navy Seals emblem.

The Navy Seal raid was code named Operation Neptune’s Spear alluding the trident in the Navy Seal’s military emblem. The trident is the symbol of Neptune, God of the Oceans. It could be Nostradamus — ever in love with 16th-century word plays on classical metaphors — means us to identify the “religion named after the ocean” to be code cryptically describing the US Navy Seals in a double entendre, offering bin Laden’s body to Neptune like the ancients would have. Soldiers of Operation Neptune’s Spear metaphorically sacrificed Usama in sea burial as an offering to Neptune.

For this unique take on the riddle of line one to be correct, the last three lines describing the fate of someone code named Adaluncatif must see his downfall soon and also from, over flying from over, the sea.

The sect of the son of Adaluncatif is qualified as obstinate, deplored and made afraid by the “religion of the Ocean” (code for the Navy Seals) who will wound the two top leaders: Gaddafi and his son Saif al-Islam al-Gaddafi.

Adaluncatif is a phonetic spelling of Gaddafi as well as hiding the Latin word for Moon (Crescent of Islam): Luna.

Here is how you render the anagram:

Adaluncatif = Cad(t)afi Luna = Cadafi Luna.

Nostradamus’ law of anagramming drops the single redundant letter, in this case the t. The “C” resembles phonetically the Arabic “chhaah” or “Qaah” that Roman spelling often struggles to capture as Qaddafi, Khaddafi or Gaddafi, depending on what part of the Western ear registers as dominant for spelling.

Thus Cadafi Luna (Moon) stands for the lunar crescent, a symbol of Islam we see topping the domes of mosques.

Moon here representing “Islam” implies the son of Adaluncatif, Saif al-Islam (Sword of Islam), Gaddafi’s heir apparent. Saif notoriously declared a war of annihilation on Libyan television, broadcast all over the world, against any Libyan protesting his father’s regime. Saif tried to live up to his name, becoming the field commander sword point overseeing Pro-Gaddafi forces that massacred demonstrators and commanded efforts of the army and air force to first crush rebellion in the West while preparing an invasion to seize back the breakaway Libyan East centered around a new government in Benghazi.

The fanatic son Saif initiated a civil war raging since February 2011 and his atrocities generated worldwide distain for his father’s “obstinate and deplored sect”. Even the Arab League asked the United Nation to step in militarily against an Arab regime, which they did with US and NATO air strikes on Gaddafi and Saif’s armored columns just before they entered Benghazi to perhaps massacre hundreds of thousands.

Now the “sect” of the son of Gaddafi is in retreat from Eastern Libya and under constant bombardment in their stronghold of Tripoli. Now helicopter gun ships have begun coordinated attacks assisting the rebels in their advance on Gaddafi’s Western Libyan strongholds.

Saif al-Islam al Gaddafi. Is he the wounded A and A?

The son of Adaluncatif is dead, killed by a NATO missile strike of a command and control center on 30 April, one day before Usama bin Laden was killed.

“The two wounded A and A” may be a riddle for one fatally wounded man with a double name: Saif (a)l-Islam (a)l-Gaddafi; yet, the syntax is open ended enough to hint that only one of the two wounded is “A and A”. The other, Gaddafi, may be next, and the wound delivered from jets and helicopters flying from over the sea may be fatal and soon.

This brings me to the following Nostradamus quatrain that may describe the death of Gaddafi in our near future:

The dart from the sky will make its extension,
Deaths in speaking: Great execution:
The stone in the tree [arbor], the proud people surrendered,
Clamor, human monster, purge, expiation.

Although the translation has license to use gent as nation the literal translation is people. When Nostradamus writes, “the people” or “the city” or “the nation” etc., he is usually speaking of future events that directly affect the “French” people, the “French” city (Paris), or the “French” nation. Nostradamus best sees the future through his French eyes, his French conditioning and how it directly affects future French people.

Osama sacrificed to Neptune.

The French under President Nicolas Sarcozy have been the most bellicose of the NATO allies in prosecuting an air war against Gaddafi’s military assets. From the start, French air forces have openly targeted Libyan command and control targets as ruthlessly as they can in the hopes of killing the assumptive heir and the dictator of Libya. I predict it will be revealed in the future that Sarcozy’s French military policy in Libya is decapitation of the Gaddafi regime. He intends — and he will succeed — in launching a dart or “missile” from the sky that will cause the great execution of Gaddafi in mid speech (deaths in speaking). He will start a sentence he will not complete as a French missile takes him out.

It may be an interesting coincidence only. The quatrain’s indexing (70) is a near miss for the year 1969 when Gaddafi overthrew King Idris of Libya.

A Post Prediction Statement

2011 is a turning point year for the future fate of Obama.

2011 will see the worst Hurricane Season since New Orleans was flooded in 2005 by Hurricane Katrina.

2011 has another economic crisis coming.

2011 has six months and three weeks of history changing times packed in it.

The Arab Spring moves into hot tempered Arab Summer. The oracle must train its inner eye on heat waves of new civil upheaval in Yemen and Syria. Adaluncatif may have another meaning. It might represent the Syrian boy named al-Qatif, whose torture and death by Syrian soldiers intensified public protest across that tyrannized land. Nostradamus variously identifies these powerhouse countries as the two great Kingdoms of the North, or the Great Brothers of the North [or Aquilon, after Aquila, the Eagle Constellation in northern skies. Then in a classic Nostradamian double entendre the prophet describes these brothers will become friends at a time when one of them he calls the new land of Americh is at the height of its power. The prophecy is in a quatrain indexed as Century (volume) 2, Quatrain 89 in his magnum opus Les Propheties.

The numbers are a date: 2 [February] [19]89, the month Soviet forces pulled out of Afghanistan in defeat.

In December 1989, President H.W. Bush and Soviet Premier Mikhail Gorbachev declared the Cold War officially over. America the victor became the sole world superpower. At that time the two great leaders will become friends promised Nostradamus but with a twist. The Latin/French blended word he used for friend — demis — can also mean halved or split. America and Russia are otherwise known in the prophecy as the brothers who are not yet brothers.

A leader and/or a people he calls barbare threatens their fragile attempt at friendship. The many allusions to them in the prophecies hint powerfully to two possible translations. They are the Barbary Corsairs: a contemporary version of Islamic terrorism raiding the Mediterranean shores of Nostradamus’ France in the 16th century. These Islamic pirates-cum-terrorists of his day hijacked and sunk ships. The modern Islamic terrorist-pirate hijacks and crashes planes. Nostradamus’ Judeo-Christian bias might also hint barbare means Islamic barbarian, the kind of ruthless, bloodthirsty autocrats one sees in modern times, such as the father of Bashir al-Assad (Hafez al-Assad) of Syria, Saddam Hussein of Iraq and today’s Muhammar Gaddafi of Libya. They are Arab dictators, terrorists like al-Qaeda, Usama bin Laden who like Saddam Hussein is a candidate for Nostradamus’ third and final antichrist who set in motion the threat of Armageddon.

Thirdly, barbare could be an anagram for Arab.

Reduce the redundant letters r and b to one letter each and you get the French spelling for Arab: arabe out of barbare.

Barbare stands literally for Barbary, as in the Barbary Coast pirates, against which the young United States of America fought in its first war as a nation in 1805. The capital of the Barbary Coast is Tripoli, the stronghold of Muhammar Gaddafi and the pro-Gaddafi tribes of Libya who contest control of the oil rich North African nation with mostly Eastern Libyan tribes in the current Libyan Civil war of 2011.

America once again is at war with Libya in a coalition of NATO nations, sanctioned by the Arab League, joined by the air forces of the UAE and Qatar of the Gulf States to establish a no-fly zone against Gaddafi’s armed forces.

This coalition exists because members of the UN Security council voted for its prosecution to protect civilians from Gaddafi’s threat of a mass massacre of Eastern Libyans by his army. The vote for this Resolution #1973 went through without a veto. It is important to note that Russia abstained while American voted in favor of the No Fly Zone. What followed where momentous air attacks wiping out Gaddafi’s air defenses, command and control centers, military air fields and later the obliteration of his armored thrust to the suburbs of the rebel stronghold of Benghazi.

Russia in the first hours of military strikes clearly stated its regrets at military action moving forward with such violence against what had once been an old ally in the Soviet, Cold War era. Gaddafi, being one of the longest lasting tyrants in power of modern times came to power at the peak of the Cold War tensions overthrowing King Idris of Libya in a military coup in 1969, forty-two years ago.

Now, with all this background in mind, the next prophecy of Nostradamus, Century 5 Quatrain 78, is perhaps a chilling vision of the near future:

The two [America and Russia] will not remain allied for long: within 13 years they will give in to Barbare power ["Barbary" Corsair: read Islamic barbarian pirates = Arab dictators, terrorists, or a Third World war arising unexpectedly from tensions over a conflict against those of the modern Barbary Coast, of Tripoli, of Western Libya, etc.]. There will be such a loss on both sides, that one [perhaps America in this case] will bless the bark of Peter and the cape of the pope.

Let us follow the prophecies further:

The two-headed eagle of the Russia Federation.

Kingdoms given to men incapable of prudence. [Is he implying US President Obama, Russian Prime Minister and future President Vladimir Putin in Russia, over a conflict started by the irrational Libyan Colonel Gaddafi?] Then for the great brothers [US & Russia] death and dissention. (2 Q95)

There will be let loose living fire and hidden death. Horror inside dreadful globes. By night the city will be reduced to dust by the fleet. The city on fire, helpful to the enemy… (5 Q8)

At sunrise one will see a great fire. Noise and light extending towards the North [Aquilon in French -- the realms of America and Russia, signified here by their eagle emblems]. Within the earth, death and cries are heard. Death awaiting them through weapons, fire and famine. (2 Q91)

The rule left to two [Russian and America in 1989]. They will hold it for a very short time. Three years and seven months having passed, they will go to war. Their two vassals rebel against them. The victor is born on Americh [American] soil. (4 Q95)

To recap this trend of a dire and unexpected thermonuclear conflict between America and Russia over Libya, it begins with America becoming the sole superpower. The two enemies of the Cold War begin a path towards friendship in 1989 as dated by Nostradamus. They both become “eagle kings” in the early 1990s when Russia drops the hammer and sickle red banner for the Czarist white, blue and red tricolor emblem of the double-headed eagle.

The friendship is fragile, halved and prone to imprudent leadership, undermined either by an Arab (Arabe=barbare) leader, and regional Arab revolution, or a barbare (Barbary Coast, read Libyan) source. Then, either quickly after that, in 3 years and seven months, or in a longer breakdown of US-Russian friendship 13 years later, the US and Russia fight a nuclear war perhaps set in motion by unanticipated consequences arising out of the present conflict in Libya.

The idea may sound ludicrous. Nevertheless, if you have been following my books over the last 25 years, especially those books looking at collectively shared prophecies, such as The Millennium Book of Prophecy and 1000 for 2000 Startling Predictions for the New Millennium, many of history’s greatest seers with unquestioned impressive accuracy believe there are three world wars set to threaten our destiny. The 17th-century German prophet Stormberger framed this collective theme of a final, unexpected world war, saying humanity walks with open eyes into the third world war’s apocalyptic end of civilization. With eyes wide shut to the dangers, they did not see it coming. Can you see Stormberger is on to something?

For decades now a majority of us believe the nuclear danger of the Cold War years are behind us. We live under the illusion that thousands of nuclear weapons still sitting around in their silos or stored away will not in a short time be rolled out, switched on and aimed at us once again.

In Nostradamus: The Complete Prophecies, written in the mid-1990s and published in 1997, I often came back to the Libyan scenario that an incident would set in motion a Third World War after the Cold War was over. I wrote extensively about a number of prophecies describing a future act of terrorism, coming forth from “an iron fish” leaving a weapon at the mouth of the Tiber, the watery river road reaching Rome and the Vatican. I explained a potential scenario implied by a number of Nostradamus’ prophecies about the governments of North African nations like Algeria, Tunisia, Libya and Egypt succumbing to a fever of radical Islamic passions. Each of these nations have a small flotilla of diesel powered Soviet era attack submarines, any one of which could be used by the man who would make war (perhaps the Third Antichrist Nostradamus warned famously about in other visions) described in the following prophecy from Century 2 Quatrain 5:

Qu’en dans poisson, fer & lettre enfermée,
Hors sortira qui puis fera la guerre:
Aura par mer sa classe bien ramée,
Apparoissant pres de Latine terre.

When weapons and plans are enclosed in a fish,
Out will come a man who will then make war:
His fleet will have traveled far across the sea,
To seem to appear [surface] at the Italian shore.

I published the following passage about this quatrain in 1997:

“In several places Nostradamus makes it clear that there’s a Libyan (Barbary) connection to a future (terrorist) invasion of Southern Europe. Muammar Qaddafi, an admitted protector and supporter of Abu Nidal and other terrorist organizations, also possesses five Soviet-made Foxtrot Class diesel-powered attack submarines in his fleet. Whoever the man is with plans and special weapons to make war, his underwater journey to destiny may be dated in the hidden double meaning of the first line: When Mars and Mercury are in conjunction with Pisces.”

Nostradamus hid dates in sentences, such as in line one. Fish (submarine) also stands for the astrological sign of Pisces. Weapons stand also for Mars (the planet Mars, God of War). Letters, papers, (plans) stand as symbols of the ruler of intellect, Mercury. Enclosed is a code for in conjunction. Thus the line, When weapons and plans are enclosed in a fish, can become the astrological code for the date of the prophecy: When Mars and Mercury are in conjunction with Pisces.

Exact conjunctions of Mercury and Mars in Pisces are rare even thought both separately and frequently pass into Pisces every few years. Conjunctions bracket 2012. The first recently at the end of February 2011. Another will come February 2013.

February 2011 marked the spread of the Arab Revolution out of Tunisia to Yemen, Algeria, and Jordan and most significantly into Egypt and Libya. The next conjunction is two Februaries away in 2013. Perhaps Gaddafi could resist that long in the bloody civil war turned into a stalemate by NATO jets and missiles leveling the battleground, rendering both sides into armed rabbles. Just today (30 March 2011), Gaddafi’s forces have once again routed the undisciplined and outnumbered rebels before Sirte, pushing them back beyond the strategically important oil refinery town of al-Brega. Gaddafi’s professional and mercenary soldiers have hid their surviving armor and hit the coastal road to Benghazi Mad-Max, post-apocalyptic style driving in similarly beat up looking, sand blasted civilian vehicles one saw their jittery amateur, R-R-RPG (rompa-room-rocket-propelled-grenade) launcher shouldering adversaries drive. NATO planes cannot distinguish between gangs in vans and trucks that are friendly or fiendly. I anticipate the Gaddafi RV caravans next will decorate their vehicles with the rebel tricolor flags beginning their next offensive into Eastern Libya as a guerilla infiltration.

The strains of the Libyan conflict begin to work to negative effect on American-Russian relations. Former Cold War vassals of the two contest the region, the Arab nations (many of which, like Libya, Algeria Egypt and Syria are former allies of the Soviet Union) radicalized by revolutions versus the US ally Israel, the Saudi Arabian monarchy and the Gulf emirs.

The next most likely time window for world conflict comes when Neptune’s transit of Aries begins (2025-2038). During that period there will be a conjunction of Mercury and Mars in Pisces in March 2026.

That is EXACTLY 13 years beyond the next conjunction in 2013!

Perhaps events in 2013 will cause us to begin the countdown to a third world war one year after all the hoopla about ages changing and rebooting in 2012.

Events of the last 16 years seemed to steer away from my interpretations from 1995 — that is until now. American and European air power bombs Gaddafi the Barbare Corsair in Tripoli, with Russia abstaining and complaining.

We see the Arab world rocked by revolutions and in the initial phases there is much hope for a democratic outcome, yet equally possible like other revolutions of the past, the more organized and ruthless parties emerging could later turn these mostly secular revolutions of moderate Arabs into something extremist and totalitarian — far worse than the dictatorships they overthrow. Thus Tunisia, Algeria, Libya and Egypt become Islamist states.

This is what Nostradamus warned in his prophecies: a march westward of radical Islam out of modern Persia (see Iran predictions) into the Arab world. Egypt was specifically mentioned.

I am not saying this has to happen but I am wondering for the first time in 16 years if events are taking us back to the timeline I considered in detail when composing my interpretation of Nostradamus’ complete prophecies in the mid-1990s.

In the next blog we will look at the future of the Arab Revolution as viewed by the ever-pessimistic prophet Nostradamus.

I will return to a detailed account set forth by him in an Epistle to his king, Henri II of France, penned in 1558. We will refresh this prophetic narrative, moving my mid-1990s interpretation forward to events of our time and see how they might now better frame a clearer picture of a future danger to the world that war in Libya has put back on track for the train wreck of our destiny. By encountering this nightmare in its early stages we might anticipate the reasons why great brothers, great friends of the North — Russia and America — could do the unimaginable: be dragged down into a conflict that would unhinge the world in a nuclear war no one believed possible.

I do this not to terrorize you, reader, but to galvanize your power in the present day to make this future warning of Nostradamus a figment of his or for that matter my imagination, not a reality of your near future 3 years and 7 months or after events in 2013 begin a 13-year countdown to apocalypse.

I live in the Pacific Northwest on an Island that has the chief base of all US Navy EA-18G Growler airborne electronic attack aircraft squadrons. For the last several days the skies have shook with the low-frequency growl of squadrons practicing their deadly trade, to radar jam and destroy air defense radar installations. On Thursday afternoon, I listened to them make their loudest passes above leaden rain soaked skies, then the thunder of jet engines turned east and faded away.

On Friday the skies were empty of growling jets when the United Nations Security Council in far off New York City voted to approve Resolution 1973. It is a No Fly Zone over Libyan airspace with an added and ominous caveat: the UN military coalition will have zero tolerance of any further attacks and massacres by Dictator Muhammar Gaddafi’s forces against Libyan civilians. The international resolution, ironically numbered after the year of the last large-scale Arab-Israeli conflict, the Yom Kippur War, gives a wide open and legal option to turn No Fly into No Drive zones for Gaddafi’s armored tank columns heading into the southern suburbs of Benghazi.

The French Air force today (Super Full Moon Saturday) promptly entered Libyan airspace taking out a half dozen Libyan Army tanks and shooting down a Libyan MIG jet on a bombing run over Benghazi. At the moment I am writing this, six US Navy warships have unloaded a volley of Tomahawk cruise missiles blossoming flashes of fire and death on the full moonlit Libyan air defense installations and air strips outside of Gaddafi’s stronghold, the capital Tripoli.

A gathering of UN coalition air assets converges on Libyan airspace, including what I assume where squadrons of Growlers I heard practicing over my home all this week. US President Barack Obama starting with statements on Friday continues Saturday to stretch the objectives of UN Resolution to include regime change. After degrading Gaddafi’s air and sea defense systems, after leaving his tanks a melting blazing column of ruin on the roads to Benghazi, the flying death of robotic warheads will most surely seek and destroy the Libyan regime’s command and control centers.

The air hunt for Gaddafi is on. This leads me to wonder if at this moment a prophecy penned four-and-a-half centuries ago by the French seer Nostradamus may be weeks, days or moments from fulfillment. Nostradamus’ prophecies most often see the future through the actions of his future countrymen and women of France, so the following prophecy has a very good chance for being applied to a target of future French air forces allied to a coalition of other European, US and Arab League air forces converging over Libya.

Century 6 Quatrain 34 in Nostradamus’ Les Propheties states:

Du feu volant la machination,
Viendra troubler au grand chef assiegez:
Dedans sera telle sedition,
Qu’en desespoir seront les profligez.

From the machine of flying fire,
It will come to trouble the besieged chief:
Within there will be such sedition,
That the dissolute ones will be in despair.

Line 1 describes as best a 16th-century prophet sitting on a brass tripod in his secret study under the influence of a trance vision of an alien mechanism of deadly flight, such as a jet or a cruise missile tearing through Libyan skies. Line 2 a besieged terrorist chief, perhaps Muhammar Gaddafi of Libya, faces a high-tech apocalypse as retribution for 42 years of terrorizing his own people and being a haven for terrorist activity that has often been the topic of Nostradamus’ prophecies about a North African base threatening Italy and France with a new breed of futuristic Barbary Piracy.

Rather than hijacking 16th-century Christian ships and raiding Christian ports, the future Islamic pirates hijack planes and set off bombs in Europe. For four decades, Gaddafi’s Libya was a base for such modern secular and jihadist Islamic pirates. Now half his people in the East have rebelled. A full-scale civil war is on and international powers in America, Europe and in the Arab Middle East (including Qatar, Jordan and the United Arab Emirates) have picked sides against him. Gaddafi is now besieged and cornered. Perhaps the quatrain’s line extends to the near future when rebel forces under the protective umbrella of the UN No Fly Zone make their advance down roads littered with bombed and strafed Libyan army APCs, tanks, artillery and vehicles to liberate Ajdabya, al-Brega, Misrata, Az Zawiyah and at last laying siege on Tripoli itself.

Lines 3 and 4 paint Nostradamus’ entranced picture of the aftermath. This is the beginning, not the end of the Libyan Civil War and its bloodiest days are ahead. The line describes the oncoming sedition and civil war to come. Perhaps Libya may unravel and become a failed state wherein al-Qaeda and other terrorist cells might flourish once the profligate, dissolute and wantonly bloodthirsty Gaddafi is gone. Then again, the seditionists may be the Libyans fighting for their freedom. One might hope that.

Nostradamus predicted the violent end of Gaddafi and his son, as I explained in my 22 February article Nostradamus and the Fate of Gaddafi: here are some passages again with my assessments from today (19 March 2011):

I predict Gaddafi is going down violently, like Ceausescu in 1989, “Romanian-style”. The question is, how long will it take and how bloody will it be?

The fall in late 1989 of the East German Communist regime Erich Honeker regime in East Berlin caused a regional chain reaction across Eastern Europe with communist dictatorships falling mostly with a whimper except one: the eccentric strongman Nicolae Ceausescu of Romania, every inch as daffy a dictator as Gaddafi. Relinquish power? Only over his dead body, like Gaddafi threatens today.

I predict Gaddafi and his son and successor Saif al-Islam (Sword of Islam) will die like Ceausescu, but unlike the Romanian bloodbath, it may not end the relatively brief fighting in the streets. Conflict could be protracted. Gaddafi may be dead soon but the fighting will not end with his life like Ceaucescu. It may only be the beginning of fighting between Libyans unless the same allies setting up a no-fly zone step in for a generation’s time to help them build a modern democratic nation.

At the time of this writing [22 February 2011 -- just four days short of a month of the current update], Gaddafi and his tribal allies in the secret police and armed forces are ruthlessly liquidating rebels in Tripoli while air strikes on Benghazi continue.

I predict Gaddafi intends to launch his heavily armored forces against Benghazi, the heart of the revolution.

During the first heady weeks of the opposition’s rebellion when the entire eastern half of Libya broke free of the regime and large towns even in the West and populations inside Tripoli itself were demonstrating and fighting for their freedom, gaining ground, this prediction seemed unlikely. But the message of my oracle was loud and clear, if unchecked, Gaddafi could and would seize Benghazi and crush the rebellion. The future timeline that would have triggered into action is too terrible to countenance. Gaddafi’s counter-revolution would have sent a signal to all other tyrants and autocrats in the Arab world and in Iran to fire upon and liberally massacre their people seeking democracy. Though the help of the world from the sky has come two weeks late, it may give the Benghazi based rebellion a fighting chance.

Gaddafi pays for an unknown number of ruthless sub-Saharan mercenaries numbering 7,000 operatives, including tank and armored units in what is known as Gaddafi’s Pan Islamic Legion. I sense because of his dwindling support from the Warfallah, he is calling in favors from many more guerilla and terrorist forces across Africa whose insurrections he bankrolled for four decades. These gathering mercenary forces flying in by transport are the spear point of a planned strike on Eastern Libya. It is because of them and the atrocities to come that Gaddafi will soon lose support from all of his people — East and West Libyans — and come to bloody ruin.

Gaddafi’s atrocities shocked and united the world against him. The United Nations Security Council enacted with breathtaking speed Resolution 1973. Less than a half a day afterwards, air forces of France patrol and protect Benghazi, drilling with their missiles Libyan tanks firing on the city. After dusk and after an unusually large full moonrise, a barrage of 110 US tomahawk cruise missiles pounded Libyan air defense and air force assets taking out 50 percent of them in the first volley. Tomorrow, I expect the other half will lay in smoldering ruin from the next Tomahawk strike. The world is at war against Gaddafi. I believe his West-Libyan tribal alliances will eventually be undermined. He will then come to bloody ruin.

A few days ago, some of you wrote in about the following prediction I made in a 3 March 2011 article entitled Climate Change, Libya and Living Free of the Future. In it, I sent a rather harsh and castigating prediction about how there would be no No Fly Zone to save the undisciplined, leaderless rabble fighting against Gaddafi’s modern and armed-up forces.

I said it at the beginning of the Libyan Revolution and I say it again, as a compassionate warning to the revolutionaries in the eastern coastal cities of Libya, such as Benghazi: Gaddafi will launch an offensive on you. It will happen this month, and you people of Benghazi will need to get yourself organized or by April, you will have Gaddafi’s tanks shooting you point blank in your streets. You will have your beach side demonstrations strafed by Gaddafi’s Tripolian and Algerian pilots in jets and attack helicopters.

Listen well; there will be no “No Fly Zone“ organized by the US Navy or the NATO air forces flying across the Mediterranean from Italy. That simply will not happen as long as you continue to be a leaderless circus in the streets, playing with your rusting, second hand tanks, and shooting off into the air magazine after wasted magazine of your secondhand anti-aircraft guns for the entertainment of brave Ben Wederman’s CNN cameras.

You need to organize.

Undisciplined revolutions of leaderless masses never succeed. And many an organized revolution can also succumb to a tyrannical state, initially caught off guard, but soon finding its savage footing and take aim, putting fire and chemical weapons on the cities and towns of rebels.

I am happy to announce that I was wrong about the No Fly Zone. It WAS enacted despite the fact that the rebellion remains a rabble rag-tag army and leaderless. I do not take back the rest of what I said. Undisciplined revolutions of leaderless masses never succeed and that future is still possible for the Libyan rebellion.

I love being wrong about the no fly zone. Now there is a chance that this military and humanitarian assistance can turn the tables on a number of old and bad karmic legacies of Western powers who have preached democracy but supported autocratic dictators like Gaddafi who oppress their peoples since the end of the First World War and the rise of Western civilization’s thirst for Arab oil. In my forecasts for 2010 and prophecies for 2011 I have been compelled to record my oracle’s strong vision that a sudden and very positive turnaround is about to happen in the Middle East that could end a US burden of occupying Iraq and Afghanistan.

There is a potential turn of history’s tide in the next four to five years. My oracle showed me this outcome. Now we must recognize and nourish building the bridge to that hopeful tomorrow that may isolate and negate an Iranian threat of war, see Prime Minister Netanyahu make a bold diplomatic outreach to his Arab neighbors rivaling that of Nixon and Kissinger with the Chinese and Soviets in their trilateral diplomacy of the early 1970s. Palestinian-Israeli peace could be close at hand, closer than at any time in a half-century of strife despite the current upheavals in the Arab world. I wrote a whole chapter about Israel’s key role in that future in the chapter Giving Peace a Chance in Palestine, Giving War a Chance with Iran in Predictions for 2011.

Century 6 Quatrain 34 may anticipate a future machine of flying fire targeting the reinforced bunker suspected of protecting Gaddafi, his son Saif and their commanders. During the coming days or weeks an Allied bombing campaign will see Gaddafi move around the suburbs of Tripoli like a petty political exile, sleeping in safe houses like Saddam Hussein of Iraq was forced to do during the Gulf War of 1991. Unfortunately for the Iraqi people, their dictator survived the Allied onslaught and successfully crushed the two civil wars that followed in Kurdish Northern and Shi’ite Southern Iraq. Perhaps the machines of flying fire will get off a luckier shot at Gaddafi and his death by aerial attack either inside a reinforced bunker or by a lucky missile shot through the fabric of his Bedouin tent.

Those who have read my book on Nostradamus’ third antichrist Mabus or my evolving vision about President Obama in Predictions for 2010 and Predictions for 2011 see a developing interpretation of a future wherein Barack Obama successfully kills a key terrorist leader. He achieves this either with a “machine of flying fire” (missile) launched from a spy drone or cruise missiles fired from jets, ships or submarines. In that train of evolving interpretation of Nostradamus, I leaned towards Obama’s Administration an escalating drone attacks after coming to power on al-Qaeda and Taliban bases in Western Pakistan. Although that part of my forecast did indeed happen perhaps the target is not al-Qaeda leader and potential Third Antichrist candidate Usama bin Laden, but Gaddafi in Libya.

The obstinate, deplored [Gaddafi] sect will be afraid,

Of the two wounded Aleph (A) and Aleph (A) [a riddle: Gaddafi the father is wounded as is his son Saif (a)l-Islam (a)l-Gaddafi].

There are a number of references in Nostradamus’ prophecies about Libyan locations and themes that may influence our near future and even be the cause of an American-Russian nuclear conflict perhaps 3 years and seven months or 13 years from now, if the barbare (Barbary, Tripoli) pirate in question is meant to be Gaddafi.

Russia in the UN Security Council vote on Friday abstained. On Saturday, Moscow officially deplored the military action of Western air forces over Libya.

The Muslim world has its own North Korean style hermit kingdom, virtually closed off from the world, from journalists and the Internet. Yet, just like a very positive variant of a virus, the spread of Arab revolution out of Tunisia to Libya’s west and out of Egypt to Libya’s east has infected the closed kingdom of strongman Muhammar Gaddafi with an information dis-ease. The vectors of this fever of openness with symptoms of democratic desires are cell phones, iPhones and laptops. It is a social disease of an electronic networked kind carried by Facebook and twittering software on electronic communication gadget “mosquitoes” that can infect even a starkly free-information quarantined country like Libya with a “malarial” wave of free speech contagious and fatal to dictators. Before Gaddafi’s regime came down with this “cold” a statement of the late Hafez al-Assad of Syria echoes again in the halls of Damascus, Teheran and down the totalitarian’s halls of Tripoli. Regimes in the Arab world with the guts to fire on their own rebellious people never fall. Now that totalitarian theory is being tested in Libya.

Word is getting out of a life-and-death struggle of the people of Libya with the Gaddafi regime. More “infections” of the truth buzz ring cell phones in and tweet out of Libya revealing cracks appearing in the cyber-hermetically sealed dictatorship.

I predict Gaddafi is going down violently, like Ceausescu in 1989, “Romanian-style”. The question is, how long will it take and how bloody will it be?

Comparisons have been drawn comparing the current regional revolution of Arabs to that of the fall of Eastern European communist regimes in 1989 when the Soviet Union gave up the standoff with the Western democracies as the Cold War began to end. The Berlin Wall fell, then the regime of East Germany collapsed. Where East Germany went so went the region, being the most influential satellite member of the Soviet Warsaw Pact alliance, just like Egypt in the Arab world today is a trendsetter.

The fall of the Erich Honeker regime in East Berlin caused a regional chain reaction across Eastern Europe with communist dictatorships falling mostly with a whimper except one: the eccentric strongman Nicolae Ceausescu of Romania, every inch as daffy a dictator as Gaddafi. Relinquish power? Only over his dead body, like Gaddafi threatens today.

Romanian street demonstrations quickly turned into massacres then pitched battles between opposing regular and police military units for and against Ceausescu in a short, sharp, tank shell riddled and exceedingly bloody civil war, ending with support of Ceausescu rapidly — literally — draining out like blood poured over the cobble stones of Bucharest. Ceausescu tried to escape, was arrested, lined up against a wall and summarily shot with automatic weapons.

What happens in Libya will be similar but I fear it will take longer and be a far more bloody civil war. Unlike Romania’s civil war, Libya is among the most deeply entrenched tribal societies in the Arab world. This civil war will be won or lost by who can manage the complex alliances and promise patronage to key Libyan tribes. Western Libya mostly has tribes allied with Gaddafi, whose stronghold is Tripoli.

Most of the rebels who seized Benghazi and the eastern half of Libya are from tribes out of favor with Gaddafi. The oil profits from the world’s 17th largest oil producer go mostly to the western Libyan tribes. Western Libya has oil fields but they just lost the lion’s share located in the eastern provinces. Gaddafi will try to take them back, promise reward of the rich oil industry to those western tribes and sub-tribes leaders who support the crackdown.

People inside Libya phone the outside world about Gaddafi’s acts of genocide. Believe it. This civil war could descend into a Libyan tribal life struggle to control oil resources before and Gaddafi is gone.

At the time of this writing (22 February 2011), Gaddafi and his tribal allies in the secret police and armed forces are ruthlessly fighting with and liquidating rebels in Tripoli while air strikes on Benghazi continue.

I predict Gaddafi intends to launch his heavily armored forces against Benghazi, the heart of the revolution.

The main Libyan tribe, Warfallah, numbers one million people. They were the first tribe to support the current anti-government movement. Not a good sign for the future of Gaddafi’s regime, or his plans for a crackdown because they man much of the militia and regular army forces of the 120,000-man Libyan military. Nevertheless, the Libyan military continues to unleash jet bombers, helicopter gunships and naval gunships taking pot shots at Benghazi. That indicates both sides have a mix of military might. People are taking sides.

Gaddafi pays for an unknown number of ruthless sub-Saharan mercenaries numbering 7,000 operatives, including tank and armored units in what is known as Gaddafi’s Pan Islamic Legion. I sense because of his dwindling support from the Warfallah, he is calling in favors from many more guerilla and terrorist forces across Africa whose insurrections he bankrolled for four decades. These gathering mercenary forces flying in by transport are the spear point of a planned strike on Eastern Libya. It is because of them and the atrocities to come that Gaddafi will soon lose support from all of his people — East and West Libyans — and come to bloody ruin

Another reason why this could be far worse than the Romanian revolution of 1989, Ceausescu’s bloody fall did not rock oil prices across the world threatening high prices that could stall economic global recovery. Libyan oil fields have stopped pumping and exporting. Uncertainly hit the stock markets hard on Tuesday with the Dow Jones dropping -178.46 points. The Oil APR price today closed $96.92 a barrel, close to passing an ominous threshold, rising beyond the $100 mark. The last time that happened was in 2008. Then came the Great Recession.

The week is young, like the Libyan civil war. Prepare for triple digit per oil barrel prices sinking economic growth soon. What is coming is not a stock market correction of the DOW Jones by five or six percent. The next economic crisis begins. The one I foresaw in detail. Triggered by oil prices and dated in my predictions for 2010 and forecasts for 2011.

If I were you, reader, I would top my gas tank. The fall of Gaddafi is coming but this Jim Jones of Arab dictators could take the Libyan oil industry with him in a bloodbath stretching for weeks. That means Africa’s fourth largest oil exporter will be off line for a while. That means oil exports across Africa are disrupted. Expect this to bring fuel and food riots in South Africa. Europe is the biggest importer of Libyan oil. Expect this to trigger another EU financial crisis that will impact the US and Chinese economy, as I detail in Predictions for 2011.

The 16th-century French prophet, Michel Nostradamus (1503-1566) might have set down a verse or two about the fate of Muhammar Gaddafi.

Century 4 Quatrain 62 of his history of the future Les Propheties states:

Vn coronel machine ambition,
Se saisira de la plus grand’armée,
Contre son prince fainte inuention,
Et descouuert sera soubz sa ramée.

A colonel will through machinating (plotting) ambition.
He will seize the greatest part of the army,
Against his Prince through a false invention.
He will be discovered under his branches.

In 1995 I wrote the following interpretation that was published on p. 345 of my 1,000-page tome Nostradamus: The Complete Prophecies:

In 1969 Colonel Gaddafi overthrew King Idris in the Libyan Revolution. He seized the greatest part of the Libyan army’s support in a secret coup (false invention). The final line of the quatrain may cryptically relate details of a notorious milestone in Gaddafi life to be reached 17 years later. On the night of 5 April 1986 … a terrorist bomb exploded in a Berlin disco, killing two people, including a US serviceman. The [US] Reagan government chose to find evidence suggesting that the order for the bombing came from Gaddafi. (Actually, other far more compelling evidence implicating the Syrians and Iranians in the bombing was ignored by Reagan. But I suppose an attack on the most vulnerable terrorist-sanctioning nation would suit his political movie script better than a military attack on the deep heartland of Islamic terrorism.) Nine days later…US bombers attacked terrorist-related targets in Libya. Bombs were also aimed at the Al Aziziya barracks in the desert outside of Tripoli where, it is said, Gaddafi and his family sometimes reside in a bedroom designed to look like a Bedouin tent. Gaddafi’s two sons were slightly injured by flying glass and his 15-month-old adopted daughter, along with 100 people, were killed in what was clearly an assassination bombing mission. Gaddafi survived unscathed.

A translation of line 4 is difficult. In earlier books I had taken the figurative meaning of ramée to deduce a green arbor or green flag symbolizing Gaddafi’s Libya. A more down-to-earth translation of ramée as branches might better describe Gaddafi the moment two bombs slammed into his tennis court and another took out his front door. One might have found him crouched beneath the branches (or legs) of his desk, hiding his face from the flying glass.

Rebooting my interpretation fourteen years later, let us take on the riddle of line four in the context of Gaddafi’s near future.

With the word ramie Nostradamus may describe the scene of his end. It means branches; arbor, green bows, green arbor. Although I do not personally believe he will leave Libya alive, I could be wrong. Gaddafi may escape to the green arbor, bows and luscious vegetation of the tropics. He could fly out of the desert living out his days a guest of dictator Hugo Chavez in Venezuela. Perhaps it is there he will be killed when Chavez falls.

Another quatrain and famous anagram indexed Century 10 Quatrain 96 could describe the life and bloody fate of Gaddafi and his son:

The anagram Adaluncatif has baffled interpreters for the past several centuries. I take it to be a riddle about Gaddafi. Adaluncatif is an anagram. Reshuffle the letters and they form “Cadafi Luna.” Allowing for phonetic spelling changes, it is possible to get “Gaddafi Luna,” “Gaddafi of the Moon,” or “Gaddafi of the Crescent of Islam.”

Now the next riddle. What Religion is named after the ocean that will overcome the sect and son of Gaddafi?

The term “Oceanic religion” could be somewhat awkwardly describing Gaddafi’s bed on the night of the US bombing raid on his home in 1986.

Author and former British Parliament member George Tremlett has been one of the few Westerners invited into Gaddafi’s house in the center of a military barracks outside of Tripoli. The bombed bedroom is enclosed in glass, like a shrine, without one shard of shrapnel or piece of broken masonry disturbed since the night of the bombing. Tremlett’s book Gaddafi: The Desert Mystic contains a photograph of the bed; at the head we see an illuminated and vividly colored panoramic photo of ocean waves crashing on the rocks. Could this wall papered photo religiously bemuse the 16th-century prophet?

A number of religions, such as Tibetan Buddhism, describe themselves as oceanic.

We could go out on a limb a little further.

Around the same time in early 1986 that US jets bombed Gaddafi’s bedroom, the Oregon Commune of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh disbanded. Bhagwan was in the midst of a world tour seeing him thrown out of 21 countries by CIA and Reagan administration pressure until his meditation resort/university was reestablished in Pune, India in 1987.

Rajneesh changed his name to Osho before he died in early 1990 from what his followers and doctors claim was heart disease accelerated by being poisoned with the heavy metal Thallium in November 1985. He claimed to have been poisoned during the three days he disappeared from all contact by the press and his lawyers, while under the custody of US federal agents.

Rajneesh explained that the new name Osho was derived from William James’ word “oceanic,” which means dissolving into the ocean. Oceanic describes the experience of being simply religious without the limits of mafias of the soul or dead dogmas. You are it and it is an oceanic, blissful experience.

Osho is also used as a Zen salutation that can essentially be translated as “oceanic consciousness.”

Gaddafi gets bombed around the same time the guru of a new religion metaphorically named after the ocean is spreading its message on a world tour. Though this association of Gaddafi and Osho might sound far-fetched, it would not be the first time Nostradamus dated an incident in future history by chronicling two unrelated events happening at the same time only as a time clue rather than having any direct connection.

Nostradamus also hid more than one decodable meaning in his anagrams. (For instance, see Mabus.)

The anagram Adaluncatif gives us Cadafi Luna. Yet, remove “A(dal)u(n)cat(i)f” and we also get Nidal.

Gaddafi was once a close friend and patron to the notorious Palestinian terrorist Abu Nidal in the 1980s.

Drop the c and the remaining letters a-u-a-t-f can phonetically spell “fatau,” for Fatah, as in the Palestinian Fatah party.

Fatah now runs the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank region under Israeli occupation. At one time it included a terrorist branch known at the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO).

In other words, Cadafi Luna is linked to Abu Nidal (terrorist) and the PLO of Fatah as it may relate to the near future.

The secular workweek begins with Gaddafi Luna threatened with overthrow. The workweek will soon end with Friday — (the Muslim holy day, church day, their “Sunday” according to their calendar).

This Friday watch the Fatah Party of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas in the West Bank join the radical Palestinian party of Hamas, controlling the Gaza Strip for a “Day of Rage” demonstration across all Israeli occupied Palestinian territories.

Gaddafi, a patron of Hamas, will drag his country down into civil war this week while the Arab Revolution reaches the doorstep of Israel this Friday in a protest against the US veto that put a kibosh on a recent United Nations Security Council resolution to declare Israeli settlement construction illegal.

Watch Friday when the Arab Revolution amps up in intensity to a whole new dimension, shifting from an uprising against the oppression of its own Arab-born dictators to an rebellion against oppression of the US-backed Israelis in Palestine.

If these interpetated layers of the Adaluncatif anagram message are correct, Gaddafi’s civil war and fall is linked to the coming rage in Palestinian streets.

Where then do the clues walk us to next?

Solving the riddle of the last two lines of 10 Q96:

The obstinate, deplored sect will be afraid,
Of the two wounded Aleph (A) and Aleph (A).

The sect of Gaddafi is afraid of the two wounded A and A. How do we decode just what the Hebrew letter for A (Aleph) and its Arabic variant (Alif) represent?

Gaddafi intends to give his dictatorship to one of his sons, of which he has seven. The most likely grooms for dad’s dictatorship are Saif al-Islam al-Gaddafi and Mutassim Gaddafi.

The prophecy might imply the two will be wounded, after the father is deposed.

Apparently, these Hebrew/Arabic letters are not the same as our letter A. Instead they correspond not to the vowel sound “ah” but to the glottal stop that precedes it. With that said, one cannot rule out that Nostradamus the obscurer would lead the idle seeker off the etymological trail. Perhaps he was more interested in the spelling of the word in Roman letters to hide a name consisting of two “A”-sounds when spoken?

Saif al-Islam al-Gaddafi.

If so, then the first and second Alif could represent a kind of phonetic spelling of the most likely heir apparent’s name, Saif (a)l-Islam (a)l-Gaddafi (meaning Sword of Islam from Gaddafi)

He is the son of Adaluncatif. The designated successor to lead the obstinate and deplored sect of Gaddafi’s mutant Marxist-Socialist-Islamic system now rejected by the people of Libya.

Successor A and A will be mortally wounded?

A and A also could be Nostradamus hinting the most popular chant of the demonstrators in Libya: Allahu Akbar! (God is Great!) In this way the faith of Allah is the oceanic religion foreseen to succeed over this obstinate, deplored sect.

If we move beyond all the tangled speculation inherent in picking loose a line of clarity out of cryptic Nostradamus, the fires of revolution overtaking the Middle East could cleanse the way for a better and more democratic era.

My oracle’s forecasts for 2010 and those published for 2011 indicate sudden and unexpectedly positive breakthroughs in the Middle East are quite possible.

Israel in 2011 has an excellent opportunity to be a positive game changer, supporting Arab democratic aspirations while isolating radical Islam based in Iran. I wrote a chapter about this potential destiny in my prophecies for 2011.

February 11 is the 21st anniversary of Nelson Mandela’s release from prison. His freedom lead to a peaceful South African democratic revolution and an end to Apartheid. February 11 is the 32nd anniversary of the Iranian Revolution deposing the Shah’s regime. It established an Islamic totalitarian theocracy founded by Ayatollah Khomeini. On this important date of either/or outcomes in revolutions past, Egypt now begins advancing on its own either/or, freedom or fascist, path on yet another 11 February.

The world was changed by the horrors of 9/11/1. The world was changed once again, hopefully for the better on 2/11/11.

On that day, Friday prayers across Egypt where answered when a bloodless military coup forced the dictator of 30 years, Hosni Mubarak, to resign from office, handing the government over to an Egyptian military council of generals. These generals have promised all democratic reforms demanded by millions of Egyptians demonstrating on the streets for 18 days will be addressed and if reasonable will be initiated.

2/11/11 is the end of the beginning of the Egyptian Revolution.

I expect there will be a few days of national celebrations, reverberating out of Egypt sending a chill through kings and dictators across the Arab world and black-cloaked theocrats in Iran. After which, the world will watch and wait for the real work to begin. The Egyptian people will face Herculean challenges when they tackle dismantling and politically democratizing the longest sustained and most ancient of autocratic states, dating back 5,100 years to the appearance of the first totalitarian Pharaohs in 3100 b.c.e. Egypt evolved the concept of totalitarian rule without disruption from the beginning of known civilization up to February 11, 2011.

All things must end and most things end later than they should, like dictatorship. However, ancient habits are as stubborn as the last modern Pharaoh, who after 30 years on the “throne” as Egypt’s president apparently confounded his own generals as much as his people when Mubarak on the night of February 10 did not announce as expected that he would step down. The following day, his generals threatened to discard their uniforms and stand with the demonstrators. Now a handful of them run the government by decree. One might hope that their hearts are with the people, that they have abandoned the tyrannical habits and traditions of Egypt’s past. Still, habits die hard. Ancient habits can preserve themselves like a mummy sealed by the sarcophagus of traditional human programming.

The Egyptian army officer corps is a be-medaled aristocracy serving autocracy. These princes and barons of the regime and their families live in gated communities of mansions well guarded, often outside of the squalor of urban Egypt. This officer class controls most of the industry and the wealth of an impoverished developing country of 80 million — 40 percent of which live in crushing poverty.

Are pharaoh’s princelings just another junta? Are they cousin-junta brothers of other gun toting aristocracies who are a breeding ground for new dictators set on and sometimes pushed off the pyramid point of hierarchical power? Is there really any difference between this military class that chooses from its ranks the megalomaniacal figure head-case of state like they do in Myanmar or North Korea, or can we hope for more from Egypt’s military upper crust?

On 2/11/11, the Egyptian people have been handed over to this “Junta-tocracy” by their departing head general-president-dictator. This upper class was sustained and empowered by three decades of Mubarak’s ruthless, perpetual, emergency rule (a euphemism for fascism). Will the army leaders relinquish their power to civilian government when — if — it is or even can be established in Egypt?

Will a general in today’s emergency military council granted the power by a fallen dictator to dictate by decree be the next installment of a modern variation of ancient Egyptian authoritarian habit?

Back in 1952, an officer corps coup lead by Gamal Abdel Nasser overthrew King Farouk I of Egypt, establishing exactly the same model committee of generals in an interim government that led the Nasser’s dictatorship. The question waiting an answer in the future is this: does this new handful of generals have within their ranks, another Nasser, another Sadat even another Mubarak waiting in the wings, or do they have a Mustafa Kemal?

This Cincinnatus of the Muslim world was a general who with the help of the Turkish officer corps became the first president, and some would say enlightened authoritarian dictatorial “President George Washington”, of the Modern Turkish Republic in the early 1920s. Nicknamed Atatürk (Father of the Turks), Kemal instigated what has since been an ongoing, difficult half-century-long-and-counting process taking Turkey beyond Ottoman autocracy towards becoming the Islamic world’s most advanced and secular democracy. The Turkish Army for much of that process has stood guard. In the name of Kemalism, they have sometimes ruthlessly suppressed opposition parties promoting communism or Islamic jihad.

Egypt can go back to the future it knows. It can talk democratic reform until the chaos of such aspirations requires a new strongman, a new Mubarak-like regime to restore order. On the other hand, the interim Egyptian Army officer council could begin the decades-long, difficult task that Turkish officers under their leader Mustafa Kemal initiated after the collapse of the Ottoman Empire at the end of the First World War.

Egypt can go back to a new future — a Turkish-like manifest destiny, using the army as an evolving and institutionalized referee in the messy democratic process to come. This committee of officers can be enlightened authoritarians playing the arbiter of fair and measured steps towards a secular-based, religiously tolerant democracy. The army can stand guard against extremists or jihadist parties just as the Turkish Army does even to this day, defining the limits Islamic fundamentalist aspiring parties (such as the one presently in power in Turkey). The Islamic Brotherhood, for instance would not be allowed by the army to exploit democratic chaos in order to establish a theocracy even if it meant rolling out the tanks once again.

The Egyptian military leaders have promised prompt action. Before Mubarak stood down, General Hassan al-Roueini, the military commander for the Cairo area, told protesters in Tahrir Square, “All your demands will be met…”

On 2/11/11, the new military junta loaded action into those words, forcing upon Mubarak a bloodless, inner-palace coup d’état.

Public demand Number One from Tahrir Square has been fulfilled. He has resigned from office, his regime is out.

The next, and perhaps far more difficult, totalitarian power to relinquish by this junta are all the Emergency Laws that Mubarak enabled after taking power when Sadat was assassinated. They are the foundation of his tyrannical rule, granting absolute powers to a thuggish secret police to arrest, sequester without trial and torture Egyptians at any time, anywhere, for any reason, especially if they voice even moderate opposition to the regime.

The new Egyptian regime must rescind these onerous Emergency Laws before I stop calling them a banana republic junta.

It must come very soon, because my oracle is concerned about an astrological aspect approaching after February 23. It heralds a cosmic influence, under which Egyptian masses might mass-unconsciously fall into inattention and violence.

Mercury (ruler of the mind) comes together in the sky with Mars (ruler of new beginnings or impatient tempers, wars) in the sign of Pisces. This water (feminine-emotive) sign is mutable, changeable, like the political currents in the Middle East. It can create a background over which astrological aspects can pass and incline towards their higher or lower potentials. The sign of Pisces as backdrop to the conjunction can promote understanding the universal, the whole, as in a military embracing the universal aspirations of the Egyptian people desiring democracy.

Crowd psychology is ever more prone to the background cosmic forces of negative potential. People in a crowd must retain their individual awareness and forbear Egyptian politics potentially inclining towards mass escapism from hard realities by month’s end. In other words, the people who initiated this revolution with their social networks may start going back to their normal lives under the illusion that somebody, somewhere in this leaderless rebellion will talk with the generals and hash out a plan for free elections.

The difficult work is before the Egyptian people not behind them after 11 February. If they remain leaderless, waiting in limbo for direction, they will grow frustrated and impatient. There could be a rise of a collective and disempowering fatalism when lofty aspirations and dreams for democracy clash in the day-to-day self-interests of politics.

Democracy if it can come rapidly at all will not magically remove Egypt’s many woes. A new and democratic parliament will have to tackle unemployment, overpopulation stresses and remedy the crippling poverty of millions. Perhaps an even harder task awaits a free Egypt, the deprogramming of an institutionalized, vast, government network of corruption. The demonstrators burned the police stations across Cairo. The hated police scattered. Who will replace these thuggish cops? What are you going to do with Mubarak’s invisible terror machine, an army of 1.3 million informers, secret police and bullies, like those he let slip to do violence against the peaceful demonstrators?

Democracy and free elections if these can come at all by September 2011 will deliver to the Egyptian people a new parliament faced with the most crushing of Egypt’s woes — one that toppled a dictatorship of 30 years. A multi-party, multi-self interested set of new legislators will have to confront what took Mubarak down. They will have to solve a problem that took the dictator of Tunisia down, forced the dictator of Yemen to announce he would not run for a new term, nor would his son. A clear and pressing problem compelled the King of Jordan to dismiss and reform his government.

What is the new Egypt going to do about rising food prices?

This crisis will not disappear with a dreamy Piscean “poof” of a magic wand of airy-fairy democratic wishes. The revolutions we have seen in Tunisia and Egypt, the revolutions we will see with mixed success and violent crackdowns in 2011-2012 in Syria, Iran, Jordan, Algeria — even beyond the Middle East in Myanmar and North Korea — are rooted in crop disruptions by climate change. Add to this the unanticipated stresses put upon global food supply to satisfy the demand of a growing, affluent middle class population wave rolling across the world in China, in India, in South America and even numbering many thousands who demonstrated in Tahrir Square, Cairo. A democratic Egypt will have and will continue to have to find ways to absorb the coming, steepening hike of global food prices that could spark the social and political upheavals I predicted for 2011 and beyond.

It is a good thing to see Egyptians in the streets over the last 18 days believing and acting upon that believe that it is not their fate to live under dictatorships. They aim to make Mubarak wrong. They are not children unable to govern themselves, needing an iron-fisted father figure Pharaoh.

Arab DNA has proven it can aspire to democracy. Such ideas are born in the Piscean collective atmosphere. They are the background over which comes in a few weeks a new trial by fire brought to them by the Mercury-Mars conjunction.

Can they have a future NOT chained to any dictatorial destiny not of their making?

The Mercury-Mars conjunction will challenge them to face themselves, to get real, to organize, to find common ground with those who have differing dreams for Egypt’s future. Piscean dreams of liberation must come down to earth and get practical because this rare configuration of Mercury and Mars in Pisces can provoke a mob to lose its collective temper. Run amok. Rampage.

Vacillation, and confusion is quite rife from 23 to 28 February, when this Mercury-Mars conjunction in Pisces is at its peak.

At that time, the Sun (ruler of ego) will also be in its early transit of Pisces compelling all you egos out there in Egypt to get real and achieve dreams or get fatalistic and renounce dreams of democracy when it conjoins with temperamental Mercury and Mars.

At the same time, Uranus advances through its final and most intense degrees while in Pisces. Be watchful, Egyptians, of temptations to fall under the impatient spell of impractical idealism. Don’t punch out. Don’t zone out. Plug in. Stay connected. Face hard facts and opposing views with patience. Tell the truth to friends and adversaries alike and Uranus in Pisces can help you seek authentic and fundamental liberation from Pharaohs past, present and future.

The remarkable patience and disciplined non-violence Egyptian demonstrators have shown the world so far will be tested hard in a few weeks because Mars when mad is impatient.

The new crisis I see from Mercury in Pisces under Mars is an Egyptian Revolution advancing forward into a new era leaderless. Both the military junta and the demonstrators will still be looking for men and women to step up and be counted as their spokesmen and women. When everyone is waiting for somebody to show up, nobody shows up. People under the influence of this dreamy Piscean conjunction of planets can see a gulf widen between the abstract idea of freedom and democracy and its practical application.

It will be seen by end of February that people can easily twitter and Facebook a socially networked revolution into being. Yet prophecy teaches us that the more you progress forward, WiFi-ing up the world, the more you will find it strangely looks the same. It still requires the same hands-on participation. Facebook will have to face blood, sweat and tears. MySpace becomes “in your face”, day-in-and-day-out wheeling and dealing to sustain social engagement for revolution to take root.

The founding fathers of the United States did not entertain themselves with laptops and cell phone messages, like, “Gee wouldn’t it be nice to have a new constitution? Meet me at the square, bring your tent…tweet, tweet…”

They had to scrum democracy out in a stifling room, in the sticky spring and summer heat of 1787 in Philadelphia, getting in each other’s faces. Pounding tables. Making painful concessions. They had to taste another’s bitter spittle of argument and get close enough to smell the armpit of anger for months in a torrid Constitutional Convention before they had a body of laws and a bill of rights upon which to base their more perfectly imperfect union.

Democracy is a social network on and off the net that requires our attention and vigilance 24/7, for the life of a nation, not just a few weeks camping out tweeting and texting in Tahrir Square.

The younger generation of social networkers, like the Google marketing exec, Wael Ghonim, who, on hiatus from the Internet search engine giant, triggered the Egyptian Revolution through the power of Internet, and was only recently freed from arrest, will have to think twice about going back to their jobs, leaving the work of revolution to someone else, unknown.

My oracle has a message to all social networking revolutionaries. It speaks to Ghonim and every single one of you reading this right now:

You cannot go back to your day job at Google. You started something. Yet you and other young Internet-savvy revolutionaries who clicked and tweeted into the rebellion will feel tempted by the end of February to move on with your Inter-nettled nit-twitted lives, under the illusion that the dream of democracy will go on without you.

If you think you can go back to your old lives before 2/11/11, think again. Do you want to be remembered as one of the flakes who started a revolution that did not survive your short attention “spam”?

Drag that negative future into “Trash”!

Reboot!

You have keyboard click copulated a revolution, given it birth.

Do not abandon your child.

If you do so, you might as well ask Mr. Mubarak to come back to Cairo. You might as well give him back his job.

Brinkley had become a spokesman for the agribusiness giant, Archer-Daniels-Midland, who had earlier been fined $100 million fine for price-fixing of food and feed additives. What was lost in the controversy but not lost by me was Brinkley’s message: “Since television began, I have brought you the news — wars, elections, victories, defeats. The news, straight and true. I will still speak straight and true. I’ll never change that, but now I will bring you information about food, the environment, agriculture, issues of importance to the American people and the world.”

I thought David Brinkley, ever having a keen nose for future news, was not having an elderly moment in his final days or had sold out to big business, but was far ahead of his times in these ad spots, warning the world about its number one security danger: Food.

Yes, food. A lack of it could be the headwaters source for a whole plethora of social, economic and political deluge in our near future. Brinkley may not have been interested in prophecy but prophecy backs his forecast concerns. I can tell you as a prophecy expert for 30 years collecting thousands of documented predictions both ancient and modern from all corners of the planet, from all known eras of recorded civilization.

I have publishing many of them in books like 1000 for 2000 Startling Predictions for a New Millennium and in The Millennium Book of Prophecy. The best seers share a message. A collapse of food sustainability is the catalyst for many foretold catastrophes set to suddenly spring as fast as an Egyptian Revolution overnight, some oncoming night in our near future. Famine is the most immediate and least anticipated threat to human civilization. It is triggered by another shared collective threat foreseen by prophets throughout history: climate disruption.

I cannot emphasize this enough, the historic fires and drought across European Russia taking Russian grain exports off the market in 2010 makes climate change a source of future social and economic upheaval. Begin magnifying Russian fires with Australia’s 500-year drought in 2010 transforming into a 100-year flood in early 2011 disrupting their grain exports. You then add to that an inundation of Pakistan’s grain belts by a relentless monsoon flood in the summer of 2010 displacing 25 million people, leaving vast tracts of the South Asian wheat belt of the Pakistani half of the Punjab “STILL” under water at the time of this writing. You add the multiplication of perversely intensifying natural force to all of these climactic extreme events and do you now hear an alarm ringing?

Do you not hear the first “clang” of an alarm in the future sustainability of the supersystem of food production and export?

The climate’s disruption of the agri-business across important grain producing regions HAS greatly increased the price of food.

The Food and Agriculture Organization said prices reached a record high at the end of 2010, above the peaks of the 2007-2008 food crisis also caused — I would add by an uptick in climate change I presaged in 2006 on this web site. As January ends, calls from North Africa and the Middle East for soft red winter wheat is the most actively traded contract, so reports FAO, reaching as high as $8.61¼ a bushel at the Chicago Board of Trade, eclipsing an intraday high set last August when the Russian drought cut Russian grain exports. At that time wheat futures ended up 18¼ cents, or 2.1 percent, to $8.56½. US wheat futures surged to a fresh 29-month high last Wednesday as growing concern over food prices drove Algeria to order another large grain purchase on the world market.

A critical perspective must not be lost as people surge forward into the streets of the Middle East demanding the toppling of dictatorships. In your shared excitement of anticipating a wave of democracy spreading across the Arab world, do not forget that climate change saddled with rising demand from a human race pushing beyond the 7 billion mouths-to-feed mark in 2011 is pushing grain prices to record levels. Changing from totalitarian regimes to democratic regimes does not change this apocalyptic fact!

It was not tweets but where to find cheap “eats” that started this spontaneous wave of revolution pouring in floods of people by the millions into the streets of Egypt. Yes, there are other grievances in the laundry list of revolution but as I said in my last blog (click on Egyptian demonstrations) revolutions may soon adopt famous and iconic slogans, such as the French Revolution’s liberté, égalité, fraternité! However, in the earliest days of revolt it was a call of faim a need to mange that energized a mob to storm the Bastille and start the French Revolution.

Hunger for Food is first. Unemployment, economic uncertainty, a close second. Third is political reform driving people to face death on the barricades. Steps one and two are often overlooked or under reported.

When I see Russia, the third largest grain exporter ban exports because of climate change droughts and fires burning a fifth of their grain, when I see other markets arrest or greatly diminish their exports so that livestock in their countries can keep eating, just look to where they formerly exported for oncoming trouble. Look into Africa. Look into North Africa and the Middle East, all chief importers of Russian grain. Follow the dwindling bread trail into overpopulated, economically-marginal developing nations and you will see the paroxysm of hunger and food sticker shock fuel the paroxysm of revolution in 2011.

US global wheat exports have doubled since the Russian export ban last summer. The intensifying weather of climate change that caused the Russian ban has so far profited US wheat exporters because violent weather is stifling competitors, like Canada and Australia, the latter seeing much of its grain crop under water from floods.

Algeria’s government in January is trying to buy their way out of a revolution like Egypt’s by purchasing — this time from the US — in one huge order what will be a third of their expected annual wheat purchase: 800,000 metric tons! The Algerian order pushed wheat futures in Europe to their highest level since March 2008.

North African and Middle East nations threatened with upheaval have also dramatically stepped up their grain orders since the Tunisian revolution. Yet, it is not just Middle Eastern governments like those of Yemen and Jordan piling up debt by absorbing and lowering the price hike, to stem the escalation of demonstrations on their streets. Even Far Eastern nations like Taiwan are bracing for a rush on grain exports hiking prices to levels potentially setting their own populations out on the streets in protest. Taiwan plans to lower its wheat tariffs by 50 percent to stop the tide. Even now, there are demonstrations on the streets of Vladivostok on the Pacific Coast of Russia against price hikes on food.

Once a revolution is on, foodstuffs can quickly deplete. Political limbo reigns. Economies grind to a halt. Transport halts. Replenishing basic necessities, food being one of the most essential and socially volatile if cut off, can fuel violence and cause revolutions to descend into mass terror and destruction.

Foodstuffs in Egypt are running out because of the lawlessness and chaos. At the time of the writing, the revolution will be a week old. How many more days before the food issue that started this rebellion becomes a survival issue that takes it to a new level of chaos and violence?

Every one of you reading this, wherever you live on this earth, will be directly impacted by Egypt descending into chaos this week and later Jordan, Syria and Yemen in the weeks to come. Egypt’s Suez Canal is the source of 7.5 percent of the world ocean trade amounting to 6 Billion in revenue — much of this is oil coming out of the Persian Gulf to EU and US markets.

The oil crisis I foresaw as a potential and unexpected source of the second global economic crisis did not begin in October 2010. However, what I also said in Predictions for 2010 is the window of economic danger stretches from October 2010 into June 2011.

Sometimes we do the right thing and delay dire futures. Sometimes dire futures can be postponed forever by our right and intelligent actions as individuals, as nations, as members working together as a family of humans in a human global civilization.
